Comments regarding Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Co.

We ordered seeds and they arrived in less than a week. My husband went a little crazy with the hot peppers, but they all look interesting. Loved the little hand writen "Thank you" on the order, and the gift of flowers seeds was nice too. I will order from this company again.

This is my second year ordering from these fine folks. I can honestly say WOW. Exceedingly fast delivery, they only charged me 3 bucks to ship 12 packs of seeds, and they responded to questions via e-mail within a couple of hours. I can also say that their seeds are the best. Germination rates are 95+ percent, and you get what you order. No mystery plants when the seed is planted. One other bonus. Both orders I received had a bonus package of seeds. Last year it was carrot seeds. I actually bought the same breed this year, as I liked them so much. I cannot say enough good about these folks.

So far my experience with Baker Creek has been great! I placed my first order with them a couple of weeks ago, and the seeds arrived within a week. I planted several of them this past Sunday, and they have already started sprouting, and today is only Thursday. Not to mention, the catalog is just so fun to look at!

I would surely do business with Baker Creek again in the future!

I've had pretty good luck getting the seeds I order from Baker Creek. I do occasionally find out that one or two types of seeds I order are out of stock. Baker Creek has always refunded the money with no problem. I've tried two years in a row to buy Tarahumara Popping Sorghum but have not been able to get it even when ordering in January. I really want some of this seed. Maybe next year.
I would like to see more detailed information on some of the packets. I get some with no planting information or no maturity date for the variety. Maturity dates are especially helpful for corn so I can plant them to keep them from cross pollinating. If they can't put the information on the packets it would be nice to be able to find it on their website,preferably on the vegetable's description page.
Shipping is fast and seeds arrive in good shape. Unlike a few people I've never had a low germination rate.
I have had a few varieties that weren't what was described on the packet, particularly Golden Cal Wonder bell peppers. According to my local extension agent and the internet Golden Cal Wonder is supposed to grow upside down on the plants. Both times I've purchased this seed in the last few years it has been more along the lines of California Wonder except maturing to yellow instead of red like California Wonder. I do have some old Golden Cal Wonder seed from Tomato Growers. Hopefully I can get it to sprout even though it is over 5 years old.

This was my second year ordering from Baker Creek. Last year I only ordered 2 or 3 packets. All of my seeds germinated and I was very happy with the results.

This year I ordered online on Sunday, Jan. 30th and I received my seeds today, February 2nd!! WOW that was fast!! Plus I was only charged $3.00 shipping for 10 packets of seed. I can tell you I ordered fewer packets from several other companies and I was charged $5 to $6 something for shipping on less packets. Next year I will try and fill my entire gardening order from Baker Creek.

Ordered seed this year, and they arrived well before I thought the would, most other companies take about 2 weeks or more. They have an outstanding selection of heirloom vegetables. Started my tomatoes seedling yesterday. Ordered some of the new Basrawya tomatoes from IRAC, hope they do well in Texas summer heat. I would highly recommend this company, in fact I did on my twitter account & on facebook to my sister-in-law who works for Ag extension agency. Will let you know how Basrawya tomatoes do

I've ordered from Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Co two years in a row. I am impressed with their catalog (so beautiful), their customer service, the nearly free shipping ($3 per order) and the seeds that I have received. And the shipping is so quick that I feel like I have their undivided attention - my order is first in line.

I placed my order online this year and realized that I had missed an item. I called them about an hour later (about 6 PM) and they made the change with no problem. That was great customer service. I received my order two days later. My order arrived complete and with a free seed packet. In just two days.

I am very pleased with their customer service - because that is what makes a really great company.

I placed my order on Thursday afternoon and received my seeds the following Monday! It is rare that a company ships so quickly and gets the entire order correct (they even included a pack of free seeds). This is a site that I will return to often.

Excellent service. Catalog very informative. Seeds arrived as promised. This is 3rd year I have used their seeds- excellent germination rate and plants.

This is our first time with this company. I can say the order was very promptly dispatched, in fact it was very quick, only two days. I found the order filled correctly, package well. Now to planting the seeds. I will rate them again after we start planting seeds.

I help in the ordering of seeds each spring for the Master Gardener Demonstration Gardens in our community and we always order from Baker Creek. Seeds that haven't been genetically modified are important and the catalogue is inspiring. I placed a good-sized order on Friday and had the seeds by the next week. The $3 shipping fee is wonderful! This is a company you can depend upon.

I was amazed at how quickly my order arrived. I called on Monday 3/8 and my order arrived on Friday 3/12. I have never had such quick service before....and it came with an apology for the 'delay'!
Will definitely be ordering from them in the future.

Ordered on Tuesday, received seeds on Saturday. Prices are a little bit higher than from conventional companies, but the selection is amazing. Besides, I am willing and able to pay more to support a business with a conscience like this one. I also like how the free carrot seeds offset the $3 shipping. I have ordered from them before, and likely will again.

Just placed my 3rd annual order. The orders have been fulfilled in a reasonable amount of time. One year, there was a delay for one packet of seeds...they inserted a note with my first shipment & the missing packet arrived a week later. This year, 2011, their online system is the best ever and works great. I LOVE their color catalog. Phenomenal collection of seeds!!!

Just got my new seeds. Quick successful order and shipped quickly. This is my first time ordering seeds from this company, and they are going to take the place of another seed company I will not mention. Their customer service far exceeds any company I have done business with. I will go to them first to fill my orders.

I love this company. Their shipping fees respect our pocketbooks; they don't gouge. When an item I ordered was out of stock, they sent me $2 in cash as a refund. I like their home-style attitude and their beautiful hi-tech catalog. I hope they never sell out to the big guys.

... and if the catalog wasn't enough, the seeds are great too. The only thing I ever had problems on was a black garbanzo bean. Otherwise, good germing seeds and always true-to-type.
