Comments regarding Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Co.

I cannot say enough good things about this company! The seeds arrived within a week. The website is easy to navigate and includes helpful customer ratings. The catalog is gorgeous and full of information...I spent hours reading through it and choosing which varieties I'd grow this year. More importantly, all of the seedlings I've started early indoors are vigorous and thriving! They have an amazing selection of seeds that are heirloom, organic and not genetically modified. I will be a repeat customer to BCHSC and I have been recommending them to everyone I know.

Placed my order Monday night (after hours). Received my order in the Thursday mail! Beautifully artsy seed packets, with descriptions and planting instructions, contain fresh-looking seeds lot-marked for the current growing year. This is only my first order, but having been wowed by stellar service, superior selection, low prices and an obvious commitment to seed production as conveyed in their coffee-table-quality catalog, I will be telling all my friends about Baker Creek and will return to them as my primary source in the future.

I just placed my first order with Baker Creek. I'm just about to start all the seeds I got, so I can't provide any feedback on that, but what I am absolutely over the moon about is this company's dedication to heirloom seeds, old-fashioned gardening, and a sort of spirit of sharing. I bought melon seeds from Armenia! Squash seeds from Australia! Amazing.

This is my first time ordering seeds, i usually just pick them up at a store. The prices were great, the ordering was easy & i received them quickly. My kids & I can't wait to start planting & we'll be back to give an update.

Ordered my seeds on a wednesday, had them the following monday. Called the company to place the order and talked with a real human being. It was refreshing. I so wanted a particular watermelon, and next year I will call for the order earlier so I don't miss it again. The company is friendly & fast, and this was my second order. If you've not had a catalog to hold in your hands, I would highly recommend. . the pictures of the produce and flowers are lovely, and the family pics are sweet too!

Not that this company needs another positive review but I'm providing my feedback anyway. Put my order in online last Sunday, decided Tuesday to add some more seeds and called. Was told my first order was already shipped Monday so I went ahead and put in a second order. The Sunday order arrived on Wed and the Tuesday order arrived Friday.
All packages accounted for with the free seed for plant a row for the hungry. Generous amounts of seed as well. Besides a socially responsible business this one is run very well. In addition, of all the websites I order on, theirs is laid out in the most logical, user-friendly design I've seen of any! I have only positive things to say about this company!

This is my second purchase from Baker's Creek Heirloom Seeds, and I have been very happy with both orders.

First of all, they have always been prompt to fulfill orders. This latest one was ordered on the 9th, shipped on the 10th, and arrived on the 12th! I was surprised that the seeds were delivered so quickly. (There was even a slip apologising for the delay. What delay?!)

Second, both orders have the human touch. I like working with, and ordering from, real-live human beings. No robots or grouches here! Each receipt I've gotten has a hand-written note that says thanks.

And lastly, the seeds I got yielded the best tasting veggies I've had in my life. If you like beets, I suggest the Early Wonder variety; these grow fast and taste excellent. There's just no comparison to what you get at the grocery store, or even at our local farmers market.

I'm a repeat customer who's very happy with Baker's Creek.

I was able to find bulk seeds of my favorite flowers and the order arrived quickly after I placed it online. Next year I will be sure to visit their site earlier so I can try some of the seeds that they were already out of stock of. I also like the personal touch -- a handwriten "thank you" and a complimentary packet of seeds.

Fastest service I've ever received. My seeds arrived today, in perfect condition. I'll see how they germinate. Was VERY happy to find seeds that had NOT been genetically modified. They will be the company I buy from in the future.

Wonderful company. I have visited their display several years at Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO. Very beautiful display and very friendly people. I hope to be able to attend their spring planting festival in May. I received my 1st seed order from them this past week. I am thankful for their low prices on quality seed and their vast variety of unusual seeds. Also, thanks so much for the bonus seeds - always appreciated!

First-time customer - ordered uncommon eggplants, melons, beans, watermelons. Eggplants' germination rate is excellent. All seeds are well packed. Delivery is fast. Lots of hard-to-find varieties.

the selection is absolutely phenomenal, and the catalog is superb. each seed has an explanation of history as well as taste. i was thoroughly impressed with their mission to sell and grow only "pure" seeds. this is my first time buying with them, but i was very pleased and will do so again!

I ordered my seeds and had them by the end of the week. I was so excited! I placed my order mid-February, and they were temporarily out of the pumpkin seed that I wanted, but it isn't their fault that I wanted a seed that was in great demand! :) When I can afford to, I will place another order from them. I would definitely recommend using them (and switching to heirloom seeds forever).

It's almost redundant to say I had yet another positive experience with this company -- why else do we keep ordering from them?! Ordered my seeds on Thursday & they were here the following Monday. LOVE their new packaging -- full color photos on most of the seed packets or at the very least, a respectable illustration. Look forward to seeing ALL of their seed packets with the actual photos of the variety on the front. I didn't get a catalog this year & had to use an old catalog for making up my list, but I'd also love to see them include an alphabetical listing or index somewhere in the catalog, if they haven't already done this. Their selection is so vast, it would be a real help when making up an order.

Love heirloom seed. Scary were our food in store is coming from. No wonder we stay sick. Bakers had great website and rec'd seed within 8 days of order! super fast. great service.

This is our second year to order from Baker Creek. We have a small Certified Naturally Grown farm in NE Alabama and their selection of different heirloom flower and vegetable seed gives us a distinct advantage at the farmers market. Their service is second to none. Although you may order on-line...we always love to look through the mail order catalog. If you order from Baker Creek you will not be disappointed.

I placed my first ever internet seed order with Baker Creek on Feb. 6th of this year. I received the seeds within a week, with a free pack of Muscade Carrots included (my order totaled less than $20). I waited until Feb 27th to plant, already have almost 100% germination on my sunflowers (huge seeds), tomatoes, spinach, carrots, and have some onions up as well. The only seeds that haven't germinated any plants yet are my peppers, and it's still fairly cool. All growing inside. Will use again; if you don't order at least treat yourself to their free catalog.

Ordered late & large variety of seeds. The order came quickly. Only missing one packet that was sold out. Refund was included with the order. I'll gladly order again from them. They have an amazing selection & beautiful catalog.

I am only placing a neutral rating after reading the other posts where most customers rec'd their orders in less than a week.....I am thinking this was for the web site orders (?) because I sent a check on 2-12-10 which was cashed 2-19-10. When I spoke to the gal on the phone today, she stated the seeds (I ordered 17 different variety of seeds) haven't been shipped yet...She is going to check on this..if they do ship today, it will take another 7 days to receive..The only reason I called is because I wanted to start the seeds I ordered with the seeds I already have at the same time.

Anyway, will wait patiently for the seeds.

Ordered several varieties of seeds and of the three planted so far I've had over 80% germination rate. Shipping was very quick and I would definitely order from Baker's Creek again.

I've ordered from Baker Creek several times and have never had any problems. They always warn you that they are busy and it may take a week or two for your order to be pulled, but I've only had that experience once. My last order arrived in less than a week.

I've ordered quite a bit of seed from them this year-for the first time-and have had a good experience so far. One of my orders was short two items, i emailed and received an immediate and helpful response, got the missing seeds the next week. My only concern is that my hardy kiwi seeds did not germinate and was told when i asked about it that they are hard to germinate and often won't. I wish i'd known that before buying, I would have saved my $4. Other than that, I have had a great experience and everyone has been really helpful and prompt.

Second time to order. Always timely and precise. Product is excellent. Love the freebie seeds. I recommend this company to my gardening friends.

I ordered my seed packets on a Saturday and they arrived on the following Wednesday! They were packaged well, and included a short note of apology for any delay, which there was none. Now I wait patiently for Spring so I can watch them grow!

All orders were received promptly, and my question was answered within a few days (this was during their busiest seed ordering month). Receiving an extra packet of seeds as a gift is very nice, and my kids are always intrigued. Their catalog is a delight to browse, with stories from other seed savers around the world. This was my first time ordering from this company. It was a pretty easy process. The shipping costs are easy to swallow. Awesome selection of seeds. The only thing I would have liked is an email when the seeds were shipped. Otherwise it was a good experience and if the seeds I ordered do well this year I'll order from them again.
