Comments regarding Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Co.

I ordered on a Thursday and had my seeds by the following Wednesday. Service was fantastic. Catalog is wonderful. I love Baker Creek.

Fast service! I placed two orders on-line and they arrived within 10 days. I'm a happy camper and so far everything is sprouting and looks like what I ordered.

Shipping was as expected for peak seed buying season and I got my entire order in one shot. This is my first time ordering from them but I believe this is where I will be getting ALL seeds from that I need in the future. I looked at a lot of heirloom seed places and this was one of the cheapest so you can imagine how happy I am to have these seeds! I definitely recommend this company to anyone looking for heirloom seeds, I cannot attest to how well the seeds grow yet but I have a good feeling about them.

This is my second year ordering online from Baker Creek. I love that they have only heirloom seeds and that they carry such a wide variety, and the prices are very reasonable. I had some trouble last year with germinating a few of my tomatoes (which may have been due to other factors besides the seeds themselves), but otherwise had good success! Their shipping has always been very fast, and I like that the descriptions on the website often mention what kind of climate is best for a particular variety.

My first time ordering. Fast shipment, absolutely no problems, will definitely order from them again.

This is my first year planting my own garden after watching friends and family do it for years. So I searched online for heirloom seeds and decided on Baker's Creek because of the wonderful website that has a wide selection and really helpful descriptions, and I am SO happy! The seeds were shipped so fast, I couldn't believe it when I received them today. And not only did I receive exactly what I ordered, but I got a free packet of eggplant seeds. I can't wait to plant my garden and I will definitely be shopping with Baker's Creek again. Thank you!!!

This is the second year I have ordered seeds from Baker Creek and so far I have been very impressed. It is a very neat company that shares my values and I am happy to support them. Both times I've ordered, I have received my seeds very quickly. Last year I placed my order kind of late (mid-May) and they did not have one of the seeds I requested; they sent a refund for the seed with the remainder of my order. I was satisfied with this solution. They've always sent me a free packet of herb seed. I just recently planted my seeds for this year, so I can't speak to germination for this order, but I had great success with the seeds I ordered last year (even in a year that was not great for gardening in my area). I think that Baker Creek is doing great things in the organic / heirloom gardening world! I can't say enough good things about them--their seeds are great, their service is quick, their festivals are awesome, and their catalog is beautiful!

A friend gave me a gift certificate for this company for Christmas. I've never ordered from them before, but was impressed by their selection. Catalog is attractive and informative. They were very quick getting my ordered filled and enclosed cash because they were out of one of the varieties I'd ordered. In my order, I'd allowed for substitutions, but I was impressed that they would refund my money rather than substitute just anything they happened to have on hand. We'll see what the germination rate's like, but for now, I am happy I ordered from this company.

Very interesting selection of seeds! Quick service. Very understanding about computer glitch with one seed in my order - they made sure I had what I needed right away. Very warm manner much appreciated!

Customer Service has been horrible. First of all last year I ordered Black Cherry Tomato and what came out of the ground was not Black Cherry Tomatoes. When I called customer service they did nothing to correct or acknowledge their mistake. Second this years order was 2 weeks late. I called customer service and was told I had not paid for items and that was why they did not ship. This was impossible since I had a gift cert. that I used and the web site kept telling me that my shipment was pending. Next when I got my order today it was not correct. I received Riesentraube tomatoes instead of what I ordered which was Reisetomate tomatoes which are now out of stock due to the delay in shipment. I could go on about my crop last year and the customer service I received.

this was my first order with baker creek so i can't say much about germination..i expect about 50% from organic heirloom seeds..my order came quick ..even though they sent me a note with my order saying "sorry for the delay" .... one item they didn't have a good substitute for so they mailed back cash with my order..which is cool, most places probably would've just thrown any old pack of seeds in and said " there, there is your substitute"...so far real good..if the seeds do good i'll be buying from them exclusively...

Ordered seeds online on Wednesday, had them on Friday. Amazing speed.!! Free packet of seed is always fun. Makes me try things I might not have attempted to grow. Hand written note is signed and lets me know someone appreciates my order. This company has great seeds with high germination rates. Always my top seed company. I am happygardener!

We placed our order. They must have shipped from my driveway! The fastest, most efficient mail order I've ever encountered. I'll do a follow-up about seed quality later, but for now- we're blown away with the customer service.
A note in the shipping envelope referred to "sorry for any delay due to increased orders". WOW!

My large order was filled perfectly, and they even sent me some free seeds! The prices are reasonable, and I've had great luck with seed germination in years past. I recommend Baker Creek to everyone!

We bought seeds from Baker Creek when they first started... Our original purchase had issues with germination/bugs in packet, and we never bought seeds from them again. Several years later we decided to give 'em another chance (as they have such a diverse collection of seed varieties available in their lovely catalog). But once again, it's not about the beautiful catalog, it's about "the seeds". We ordered early and after planting several packets of tomatoes in advance (in a climate controlled area for early germination as we always do every year quite successfully) most seeds did not sprout at all. Seeds which we purchased from other seed companies are (& they were all grown side by side)... Currently I have sweet peppers & etc several inches in height and no tomatoes. Let's just say that my family and I are quite disappointed, and will not be buying from them again. Seed companies sell seeds, which are suppose to be fresh/germinate... sadly we give them a "negative" rating as our experience with their seeds was a failure.

On a positive note they apologized and gave us a refund, but we are still late with our garden starts/not willing to go through this again as we live off of our garden (self reliant) and need to get the maximum from our yearly gardening season.

Like they say "early bird gets the (worm) vegetables".... more like bad seed, wasted time & a refund. : (

I have ordered from Baker Creek for several years and have always been very satisfied with both their service and their seeds.

As always, I am very satisfied. They have a great selection, fantastic shipping rates, and they are very fast. I placed my order on the same day as I ordered from a Canadian company (I'm in Ontario) and not only is their shipping half the rate, but it got here sooner!

I would love to see 'date to maturity' on everything though, as I am quite a bit further north than where they are.

Quick service, excellent seeds and I love their shipping price - $3 for the lot. Can't beat that! I love this company!

I just had a great buying experience with this company. They have a wonderful selection of very unique seeds. The delivery was very fast, and there was even a mail-slowing blizzard on my end! The packaging and information are first rate. Can't wait to get these seeds going - I just know the result will be as terrific as everything else.

I was very impressed with the 2011 catalog. Beautiful pictures and very good descriptions of plants, seeds, etc. and what a variety! I received my seeds within just days of ordering. I am very anxious to plant their seeds and see the results. Will do business with them again.

Ordered four types of heirloom tomato seeds, and planted 30 seedlings. After about 10 days, every single one is up and looking great. They even included a free pack of Love-In-A-Mist seeds, which was totally and pleasantly unexpected. I will definitely order from this company again.

Eric was very polite and accommodating. He knew what he was doing and was able to advise us of a couple of items that were already sold out. The seeds arrived promptly. We are very happy with the catalogue that has so many uncommon items. This has been a very good experience!

I love this company! I eagerly anticipate their catalog and all of my dealings with them have been great! I love their commitment to seed diversity and their exceptional seeds! I have received their seeds in a prompt manner and I have had only positive experiences with them. Their Parsnip seed germinates exceedingly well and they are might tasty too!

I ordered my seeds on February 10, 2010 and received them on February 13, 2010. I could hardly believe the rapid service. The order process was accurate and very easy to use. This company is one of my favorite. I will continue to order from Baker Creek.
Your catalog is a masterpiece.

I live in Hawaii, and really benefit from having things shipped Priority Mail service through the post office. Though there was no way to request this when ordering online with Baker Creek, a call to their customer service department and a small additional shipping fee was all it took to upgrade to Priority Mail. The seeds have arrived quickly and I am grateful for the personal attention to my order. The customer service agent even asked me to let them know that the order arrived, inviting me to call or email. I appreciate this kind of relationship with businesses. Way to go Baker Creek! Great germination is all that's needed to make my purchase first rate, time will tell...

I ordered about $200 worth of seeds in mid-February expecting them to arrive in the mail within one to two weeks. To my pleasant surprise they arrived in just two days! Apart from that I called their customer service line to get answers to some of my questions and I wasn't even put on hold. I will definitely be recommending them to all of my gardening buddies.

The Baker Creek catalog is a work of art. I have saved all my old issues. They have a wonderful selection of heirloom seeds and their shipping costs are so much more reasonable than most suppliers.

This is my second year ordering seed from Baker Creek, and I have a good feeling they've got a lifetime customer here! Their seed selection is great and they carry quite a few unique varieties. I found purple cauliflower this year! Yay! And I absolutely love that they always include a complimentary seed packet or 2 with your order! This season I get to try a red romaine.

We placed our order on Thursday evening very late and our seeds were in our mailbox on Monday! Very fast shipping. I paid $3 for shipping and the postage on the envelope was $5.58! Loved the catalog and the website. But most of all - - we loved their principles and what they represent. Throughout their catalog articles we got the impression they were more interested in putting Mansanto out of business than they were about making money! Gotta love that!

This company offers a nice variety of rare or unusal seeds. The prices are very reasonable and shipping is a great buy? I enjoy working with the folks at this great company and hope you will try them.
