New bees chit chat Come on in!! 2/25/10

Now we're back online and things have speeded up. I was wondering about being so slow. Glad it's fixed! No jail this weekend it's warming up!

Hugs and you'll have a nice night. Where's Al off to?

Noble County, IN(Zone 5b)

I desperately need to find an addy, someone needs help...can't remember where to find it. How do I locate an addy?

Go back to home. Then hit extras. You'll find it there.

Noble County, IN(Zone 5b)

Thanks Seray, I was running myself ragged trying to find the answer. Back & forth and no one was around to ask......

Hornell, NY(Zone 5a)

I'm still here, folks, just been busy. We finally got a sunny day around here, temps in the low 40's. I've been working at the airplane hanger with our mechanic on our Cessna 172 for the coming Spring inspection. Since I'm a newbie at this I need to get some practice in to get my required flying hours. The airport flying club owns all the planes (we now have seven), the maintenance gets busy this time of year. My favorite is old #532 shown below (last year's photo), but I've flown several others including a twin engine. Like a car we do routine stuff like changing oil and filters, tune-ups and other simple tasks. Hope to be flying soon.

marti, your seeds are going in the mail today. :) I have been under a lot of stress, so it kept slipping my mind, but they are on their way. Good luck with them!

Somerset, KY(Zone 6b)

Thats fine. I can't start planting for another month. So everything is just being put aside til than. I'm working on getting the yard ready with turning in some compost and sand to break up this KY sticky red clay.

Enid, OK

Arejay - I don't know who you found - the link you posted brings us right back here. Maybe you should wait until 6 a.m. to post links - LOL

I got an email from Mekos today - says she hopes to be back soon - to tell everyone hello for her. so HELLO FROM MEKOS!!!

I'm not going to jail for crabgrass killin' that's for sure - now I bet I can think of 50 other things I could do to get me there. Have to call police out here today anyway - garage got broken into last night. Stole DH big tools for working on trucks. Think it could have been someone that has been here and knows where he keeps stuff?? Looks kinda funny to me - that is all they took. There is some really good stuff out there - and all they took is tools.

62 right now - wind blowing like crazy - I goin' out there anyway. I WANT TO PLANT STUFF!!

Seray - I will post a pic later - bought a bunch of semps, sedums and assorted funky stuff at Lowes this am. Went after weed killer for yard and spent $233 oops!!!

Hi Mekos! Sunflowers to ya!

Al

Where'd ya go Mekos! We missed ya!

Enid, OK

Arejay - we KNOW you are crazy!! What's that got to do with anything? You knew Mekos was back and didn't tell? Does this have something to do with the link you posted at 5am this morning that came right back here??

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Now, Now girls, let's not be picking on each other just because the MamaHen is back. Isn't it wonderful to be fussing over our Mekos again. I love it.

She had me going around in circles and I just figured it was a time warp. Every time I came back here there was no post from Mekos. Finally gave up and went to the store. Then I got the emails from Mekos and figured it was just one of those days! LOL

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Gotta keep that lady on a leadline, so we won't lose her again. Whew!!!

Enid, OK

I clicked on the link several times and kept coming back to - well, right here. I was very confused for awhile! You guys know it don't take much to confuse me as it is!!

Where did Mekos go anyway, was it my imagination, was she here??

She posted on all our threads and disappeared. LOL Maybe we need to cook up some piggy's and some mojitos to entice her back.

Litchfield, ME(Zone 5a)

Oh see I am not crazy!! It was all of you !! Lololol...she was like a spring shower, warm and fresh and you know there is another one coming soon...and right behind it flowers(*)(*).everywhere...............................(*)(*)

Booneville, AR

Looks like spanish moss doesn't it nettie? Couldn't figure out anything else that would look fuzzy like that. LOL

Dellroy, OH(Zone 6b)

So WONDERFUL to see Mekos back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let the party begin....I got the blender!!!

Booneville, AR

Booneville, AR

Booneville, AR

enid did you see what the husband said about your grass spray it with round up now if you won to get rit of it.they do have a problem with it here on the golf corse, they have been spraying it for a couple of weeks now so get withit if you wont it gone.

Litchfield, ME(Zone 5a)

Great find Nettie!! I went searching after you named it Nettie, I didnt find a lot of solutions to destroy the Poanna but every link that brought up Poanna also brought up golf courses!! I guess you girls better keep the golfers off your lawns!! Here are a couple of links about it. http://www.anr.ext.vt.edu/lawnandgarden/turfandgardentips/tips/poa_control.html

Washington, IN(Zone 6a)

I think mekos is still on her phone posting as in the email I got yesterday she still didn't have internet yet, but hoping it would be soon.

Enid, OK

Nettie - hug your hubby for me!! I spend 52.00 at Lowes for a big bag of crabgrass killer - glad I didn;t open it, I can take it back!!! At least now I know what it is and why when I drowned it in crabgrass killer I wouldn't die. The bad new is all I know to get rid of it is roundup - there is a bunch of this stuff in my lawn - gonna take forever to spray it all.

Seray - look at all the goodies I got yesterday. I have them hidden on the back porch right now, gotta move them to the barn before the storm hits - don't want to kill the plants no one knows Ihave. LOL!!

Ok Arejay, you are not the crazy one today! You did actually know what was going on (this time). You have a unique way of keeping me guessing though

54 here today - son goes back to work at Long John Silvers today - made him quit last summer to help with baby - now I want him to go back so he is out of my way. Took me months to figure out he is really not that much help. Now that I have the little guy on a schedule, things are a bit easier. At least we have a starting point...not that anything ever goes according to plan.

I can't wait to plant stuff - DH keeps reminding me of April 15, but I really really want to plant now. Got some Lily of the Valley, peonies and caladiums yesterday - I want to plant them!! Also bought 34 cents worth of seed potatoes yesterday - that will plant 12 bags - I think that should be plenty! DH throwing a fit about me growing stuff in trash bags, figures the city will be out here inspecting AGAIN - and make me get rid of them. I don't think they can make me kill off my food source so I am going to do it anyway.

Off to chase the baby - see you guys later.

Ooooow! Should have gone shopping with you Enid! Aren't those the neatest little things! What's ya gonna do with them all?

Glad things are looking up with your son and grandson. Sometimes you just need to regroup!

Hugs

Enid, OK

Believe it or not, we are getting into a routine finally - things are a little easier. I sure has taken a long time to get everybody trained around here.

I don't know what I am gonna do with all of them yet - thinking of making a special little garden for them. Hummm, will probably use a broken semi wheel - I have plenty of those!!

I have got so much "junk" collected up for my yard - I don't know what I am going to do with it all. I will have little statues and stuff stuck everywhere!

Pearland, TX

Welcome back Mekos!

Whoo hoo! I was out today planting my tomatoes, peppers, and dill. :) Then, as I ran around watering things, I looked in the trash cans where I am growing my potatoes (first time trying these) and they had leaves. I'm stoked because I thought they were toast with all the cold and wet that we had.

Dellroy, OH(Zone 6b)

Trash bags, huh? I use old tires and just stack them as the plants grow...never heard of trash bags before. That is new.

Monticello, KY(Zone 6b)

Julie I do believe if it holds dirt a gardener will use anything LOL

Enid, OK

The trash bag idea was not mine alone. I do believe that bolt of lighting came from Arejay! I am blaming her for everything from now on - I think she's crazy you know.
Did you know Jar likes rocks??

I hope you have all had a great day, I certainly have. Played with baby, dug around in the house plants, played with my new little funky plants...

I think some of the smaller ones I will put in a dish of some sort Seray and sit them here, on my glider.
