I only have two so far...I need more than two...I asked who ever who ever was going to try the scramble to send me a dmail. I keep hoping that Mekos will check in and help me make the scramble more than a scramble!! Remember the scavenger hunt she did? Well She and Seray right? Who else helped with it Maybe Blonde and who won it? I have three plant donations.

I received my package of seeds yesterday. I have so many different types of veggies for my spring garden. Thank you so much for helping me out. Between your pack and butterflychaser, I will have beautiful flowers and plenty of fresh food from my own garden to enjoy.

I cant for some reason remember her name. But the girl that her daughter sings. Her son got sick and I miss her. She was fun and full of information. What was her name?

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

MechelleT is the girl?? I think.

Litchfield, ME(Zone 5a)

Yes where is she Mechelle? Do you think her son is ok? Has anyone heard form her?

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

I believe I saw her over on the other place. Anjl might know.

Litchfield, ME(Zone 5a)

Oh you did ? Im going to see. Maybe I just forgot I found her I have been known to forget a thing or maybe two , once or maybe twice....

Pearland, TX

I made the mistake of wandering over to the soap and candlemaking forum. Whoowee am I in trouble. I need a pay raise just to afford my hobbies...

Litchfield, ME(Zone 5a)

Oh Sapphire is back see she wasnt lost just shopping!! What have you made Sapphire?

Pearland, TX

Nah, just been busy that's all. I made fondant last night as a trial for the kiddo's birthday party next month. Tonight it is a chocolate cake to put the fondant on.

Soapmaking is gonna have to wait until next winter since I am out of hobby budget. We did a lot of yard upgrading, including putting in a new garden that is going to have a Three Sisters planting in it.

I am slowly but surely reorganizing the gardens. So I now have the Herb Garden (which also contains lettuces, cabbages, and broccoli), the Three Sisters Garden, and the Cedar Garden, which is for everything else edible and root crops since it was built to be 10" high instead of 6". I am still debating about where to put the tomatoes, but am leaning toward putting them in the Cedar Garden vs. the Herb Garden. I need to get busy and get the borage seeds started, but keep forgetting about it in light of other stuff.

Enid, OK

Sapphire - are you making candles or soap

Nettie - thanks for the boost - nope, can't stay drunk for 18 yrs. Have a major hangover today - forgot how bad that feels - got that out of my system, won't do that again for awhile. I am in better shape than lawyer and his secretary though, they had court today and I went home before them. We had a good time, my lawyer is also a farmer so we chat farming - he needs help, he is not a good farmer, heck, I ain't real sure he is a good lawyer

Wow, you had your hands full when your kids were young! I can't imagine a baby that tiny!!

Everybody have a great day, it is 48 now, I am goin' outside. Did you guys know rhubarb tea gets rid of aphids? Read that today - thought that was pretty good info. Boil the leaves, add some soap flakes...be careful though, rhubarb leaves are poisonous.

Pearland, TX

Enid, I was thinking about fiddling around with soap. :) I have thought about candles too. I am always trying to learn new things. Helps keep the brain from atrophying. Not to mention the satisfaction from learning that new thing. I taught myself to make that fondant, make fudge and toffee, and how to knit (sort of, my friend got me started and I learned the more advanced stuff on my own).

Litchfield, ME(Zone 5a)

The fondant and toffee and cake OMG ...It made me hungry for a sweet or two!! I think I lost Mindy ,,,, Mindy..are you lost?

Enid, OK

Does anyone know what this is and why it won't die??

Enid, nope not a clue, but it looks like a weed.

Arejay, I am a creative soul stuck in an analytical brain. I do the analytical stuff all day at work, so when I get home I let the creative side run free...and it likes sweets too. :D

Litchfield, ME(Zone 5a)

Oh if the other side of my brain would visit now and then. I would pay it!! Enid are you talking the grass or the hay like part? It looks like crabgrass and maybe hmm I am drawing a blank maybe Seray or Flower or Rider will stop in. There is a straw like rye grass or something looks like grass. Some people use it for a winter feed crop for the soil. It is strong stuff. JUst get the tractor out dig it all up plant like Phlox .. they will cover it up if it comes back..Ground phlox I am meaning.

Enid, OK

The hay looking stuff is dormant bermuda and thatch - the green stuff is what I wanted to know about

HI Everyone

Pictures are great Mitt. The last one is Deuterocohnia bevifolia. The first one is a crassula I think, don't know the cultivar. The white cotton ball one maybe a Sempervivum arachnoideum 'Cebenses'.

Nice challenge. Tell us what they are Mitt! LOL

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

He doesn't know seray - that's why he asked you - lol...

We're both in trouble then huh! LOL

The green stuff looks like mondo grass Enid. Could that be it?

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Spray it with weed killer, get rid of the junk. I have Mondo grass if you want some. Mini Mondo, it looks a little different than that. I bet it has a thick roots too and I bet they run down to china.

Enid, OK

I was thinking maybe it was crabgrass - it just doesn't look quite right though. I don't know what mondo grass is - this is scattered all over the yard. Guess it is back to roundup - it is going to take forever to get it killed off!! There is a bunch of it. The roots don't seem to really be that deep - I dug some up and it leaves about a half inch deep spot where it was.

Booneville, AR

enid it will be ok i understand lived in oklahoma for a while it is a whole nother country , you are fine see now im in trouble. opened my mouthwheni should have kept it closed. we could both get thrown in jail they don,t heat the jails in okla.just thought id tell you before you jump in over your head.just let it go your gona be fine love nettie

Enid, OK

I have actually heard some really horrible stories about Oklahoma jails. I really didn't want to go. If I have to go, I think I should get to go where Martha Stewart went - you know she had heat, good food, nice sheets.....

Litchfield, ME(Zone 5a)

Are they going to jail you for crabgrass? Or hangover?

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

And that crap is hard to mow too. It is a real heavy grass. Can't stand Johnston Grass. Why you going to jail???

Washington, IN(Zone 6a)

enid, sorry I wasn't here earlier to answer about your weed LOL Don't quote me but I think that is what they call Johnson grass and if it is you have to have a powerful weed killer to get rid of it and it will take everything else out too but it does get rid of it. It gets big and tough and soooooooo hard to get rid of. I have a field full of it and I just keep the most of it mowed down during the summer months as if I put the killer down I would lose all my flowers.

Noble County, IN(Zone 5b)

Carolyn,
Is that a creeping grass with long snaky roots that get in between and grow up through the roots of everything else? I fight that stuff constantly......usually end up having to pull up the plants I want, did out that stuff, and replant my good stuff.....arghhh
