SHARRAN - THAT is EXACTLY the one I meant......Thank you!

Going back to finish reading...

Mary

Betty - that's so exciting! Hershey in Pennsylvania...? I've heard the Holocaust museums make a real impact....DD wants to go to one in CA.

When DS was in 8th grade, he went to Houston TX with the band and it was about that time I realized our bank offers these re-loadable "Cash Cards". That was a relief to me b'c I didn't want to give him a load of cash and risk it get stolen plus - what if he ran out and needed more? So now all 3 have "Cash Cards"....but I make sure to make the distinction that they are NOT credit cards....because I am VERY anti-credit card....(just how I am now)

Are the 2 older boys brothers or cousins? Just wondering if the families 'matched' up so they'll have a cousin to hang out with...

Thanks,
Mary

Betty,
We did major productions at our school on the Holocaust, and our source of information was the Holocaust Museum. It will tear your heart out, and something you and the boys will never forget. They have tons of pamphlets, cards, information. Some beautiful music and poetry came from some of the children's places of interment. So very soul touching.

I hope your trip is wonderful, and I think it will be. I hope the cherry blossoms are still in bloom for you. They were lovely last week, I have pictures from a friend. My favorite place this time of year.

Mary, I thought that was what you meant.
I have a whole head full of things like that.

We have 70* of sunshine again, beautiful day.

Hi all,

It just took me 2 hours of reading to catch up on this thread lol! finally all caught up.

{{tubby}}you and shirley are in my prayers...

I'm a bit sad and shocked today....maybe disgusted would describe it better...

A lil 8 yr old girl in a nearby town went missing 10 days ago, everyone has been frantically searching for her...they found her body on monday, stuffed in a suitcse and thrown into a drainage ditch! They are still looking for the killer, just make me sick that someone would harm a sweet friendly lil 2nd grader!

Betty, when are you leaving for DC? My ex went to school at the Hershey boarding school in Hershey PA...funny thing, when my daughter graduated 8th grade, I told her I would take her on a trip anywhere she wanted to go~ just the two of us. She picked Hershey PA cause of the chocolate lol! They weren't doing tours at that time, so instead we took a train trip across the USA, went to Chicago, DC, NY, Boston, Albequerque NM and then back to CA to Los Angeles. We didnt get to go to the Holocaust museum, but we did get to see the memorial with all the names. She still talks about that trip. Next year my DS will finish 8th grade and I'll take him on a similar trip ^_^

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello To All;

I'm on for a bit - then off for American Idol 8p-9p....then I'll hop back on....

Sharran - Thank you - I printed and put on DS's bed. We had a gorgeous day too but the mgrs. made us all stay in the office (ugh!). Did you get to play in the dirt today?

Hey Anjl - glad to see you again! That sounds like a wonderful trip! Maybe I should plan stuff like that individually with the kids? I have more vaca time than DH....and NO plans this summer.

1 1/2 yrs ago we all flew in to Albuquerque and drove to Red River for the kids first ever snow/and / ski trip. It was really their first time to 'see' snow. It was so interesting for me to see the (hugely different) landscape....

Two months after that trip was when I first started enjoying gardening.....

What a horrible story about the little girl. I hope they find that guy....

Hugs to all,

Mary

OMG how cute AnnMarie..just want to sqeeze him ...

Did watch the newscast about that darling little girl..what is wrong with these animals to do such a thing to a child..makes you ill thinking about it..and to think, people like this live in neighborhoods such as ours...

AnnMarie, just down the street is Hersheyworld Amusement park, let's hope they don't catch a view of it..lol..

Shar, looked at a lot about the holocaust museum on-line today, shaking my head, am sure it will be overwhelming and what a marvellous learning experience for the boys..

Jeff's boys Mary are 10 and 12, Greg's are 11 and 13, so yes, pair them up brother to cousin...not worried though, they know grandma would turn around the car in a sec if they were misbehaving..they can do what they want, see what they want but no arguing, no backtalking, pure enjoyment and grandma will be happy..this they know about their grandmother...

LindaKay, were you able to rest today?

Hope you are all feeling well, that you've had sunshine in your life today..you all mean the world to me...

Cathy was here waiting for Rogers Cable, he didn't arrive until 6:30 and I was home...ran new cable and put some type of adapter to bring in reception a lot quicker so think all is well in my computer world...lordy you miss it don't you when you don't have it...

Girls were here tonight..nice to see them..had been since Christmas..now we're back on a regular Wedn. night class..they looked at books, picked out their next project, chatted and at about 9:30 they saw my bunny rabbit and all said awe, we'd have made one, so into the cutting room and within 1/2 hr. they all had one to take home..traced the outline and I took a photo and e-mailed it to them so they were as happy as can be...primitive piece, but cute especially if you've little ones...

It's late, time I went to bed, must sleep in another bed tonight as I just took bedding off, can't have Cathy sleeping in un-fresh bedding..lol...

Do hope you've all enjoyed your day...yawning here so can't stay up for the night owls...

Maybe I can find some postcards re cherry blossoms in Washington and send you all one...I'll try...

night /night everyone...

Hello All

Hey Betty (Tomorrow) :) That is what I was hoping for. Our kids "pair" up with their cousins pretty well and I think they will be better behaved that way....what a fun family!

Tubby - I've seen that before....so skipped over it. How are You doing today?

Back in a bit,
Mary

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

I have always liked that one Tubby.....is precisely my opinion of going to the gym!

Spent the afternoon helping Laura hook up cable boxes for my mom....I so dislike cable...

Hope all of you are doing well......

will try to get back in a bit...

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

I broke Grandma's tv while I was doing it too. I broke the part on the tv that you plug the cable into off the tv; I managed to get it set up so the picture is only a little snowy, but I have no clue how to actually fix and I feel so bad. There is a little strip of copper inside that has to connect in order for the signal to go through.

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Mary I'm doing fine thanks Shucks I thought it was new....

Trisha we have a new DVD player it's still not hooked up correctly ...LOL

Laura I can imagine how you must fill..Is there room to get in there with a soldering gun.???

Betty have a wonderful time..And safe trip.!!!!!

Seed have fun making the tree bird house. I forgot earlier post
.Any questions welcome.Seriously....

Nite All

Tubby

Baton Rouge, LA

Well Hello Laura, Trisha & Tubby - Not too long till my bedtime....I'm sure Grandma has

Victoria Harbour, ON

OMG - both Laura's..

Laura, hugs sweetie, how you must feel..am sure your grandmother doesn't hold you responsible..could you purchase a splitter box, has 2 wires than can hook up on the screws at back of t.v. and then on the actual box it has the piece you need to hook up the cable..only thing I can think of to help..t.v.'s now days well they are made as throw aways so not much repair is done to them....good luck

Laura - Wonderhug...know you have to help where you can, but I think at times you are taking on far too much when you aren't doing the best yourself...a mouse..ooops...I'd not sleep as well...so sad for your sister and her children, I'm sure it takes all of her energy to look after those children's needs, best get rid of that hubby...you must Laura be married to a Saint...always there to help your family through the hard times..give him a hug from me will you...

Today's the day, it's sunshine out there although it is cold, but I'll take cold in exchange for snow..drats forgot the tickets in my bag at home for the Holocaust Museum, luckily I was able to reprint them, otherwise I'd have had to call Greg to go on a search..tidied up before leaving and goodness knows where I put that bag...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone. I got some rest yesterday, but my tummy was not doing well, so I spent most of the day on the sofa, and close to the bathroom. Guess I picked up something bad on the trip? But doing much better today.
Betty, do you have a picture of those bunnies you were talking about?
I bet your getting all excited about your trip with the kids!

Laura from down under, so glad to see you posting, but so sorry to hear all the tauma going on! Hope it all gets settled soon.

Laura, can't help you with the broken cable connection. Wish I could.

Hope you all have a great day.

Good Morning Everyone!

Tubby loved the joke, way true!

Well I feel like my insides are going to fall out so I'm going to get some cereal and take drugs! Ms. Cheerful hasn't said anything to me, I am so sad!
Speaking of, yesterday I told her I was taking the week of May 18th off so me and Dave could go to East Tennessee for his birthday and belated anniversary (belated by a month lol) She had mentioned previously that she was going to take a week off right after the conference, which is the week after next. As soon as I told her, she said, "That's the week I was going to take." She takes off every year the weeks of Thanksgiving and Christmas. So I went to my boss and he put it on the permanent schedule, took care of that problem. Then she told someone yesterday afternoon that I guess things are ok since I'm joking and laughing (huh? I'm always joking and laughing, maybe not with her, but I'm always joking and laughing.)
So after all of this drama yesterday I get home and Dave tells me that his company is going to force everyone to take their vacations the week of the 4th of July, are we dictating when people can take their vacations now???? Of course it's just rumor at this point, but sounds kinda ridiculous to me.

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

I LOVE YOU!!

TOMORROW'S NOT PROMISED.

SO I LOVE YOU!

I believe in prayer. It's the best way to draw strength from heaven.

Going to print that one Tubby..touched my heart...

LindaKay, sorry you are not well, let's hope another day or so you'll be feeling your self...

have the bunnie head at home..I e-mailed the photo to the girls, so if one comes on-line MSN I'll get her to e-mail it back to me and I'll post it...

Crissy does that mean you would have to change your planned holidays OR just that he gets his other holidays that week if it goes through..many companies are doing shut-downs in order to save..maybe that's what they are doing, if so, not so bad as he'll still have a job...

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Yea, I'm not giving up my vacation time. He was going to take tonight and tomorrow night off, but since he's going to run out of vacation he's decided not to. And the way I figure it, if he takes the vacation in May, they figure they don't need him there anyway and lay him off, he's going to be laid off anyway at some point in time. They've always closed down the week between Christmas and New Years, but that's considered Holiday Pay. Even if they do shut down the week of the 4th of July they're still going to have to pay everyone. Like he said, it's just a rumor flying around, so we'll see.

Love the bunny Betty! I'm going to say, "Yea, it worked!" LOL

SPEEDING IN SOUTH DAKOTA
GOOD A Madison , SD policeman had a perfect spot to watch for speeders, but wasn't getting many. Then he discovered the problem- a 12- year-old boy was standing up the road with a hand painted sign, which read 'RADAR TRAP AHEAD'. The officer also found the boy had an accomplice who was down the road with a sign reading 'TIPS' and a bucket full of money. (And we used to just sell lemonade!)

BETTER A motorist was mailed a picture of his car speeding through an automated radar post in Sioux Falls , SD . A $40 speeding ticket was included. Being cute, he sent the police department a picture of $40. The police responded with another mailed photo of handcuffs.
