Best/Worse &What did I learnt today/Chat with Friends #98

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

It is late to be calling, but I know Judy has her number. I used to have it but not sure if I still do.

Also not sure what to do. If the weather had not been so bad, I would not be so worried. Suzanne was driving, I think.

Baton Rouge, LA

Well -
Now I am worried as well -
Hasn't she been turning in early as of late? I just assumed so....she doesn't really hang with the night crew lately- just catches up in the morning?

Plus if the drive/ride home was stressful...perhaps she was extra tired?

Can someone call her ?

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

We will hope that positive thoughts will keep Betty safe..

Nite All

Tubby

Baton Rouge, LA

Night Night Tubby! (((((Hugs)))))

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

It's so late, I hate to call Judy, and she is for sure the only one who might have her number. And too, if Betty is tired, she doesn't need to be awakened. I think maybe she was just tired and maybe is resting. If I didn't think that way I would drive myself crazy with worry.

Thing is, she always checks in when she gets home, and she didn't tonight.
Don't know the best thing to do.

But I do know this. She has so many caregivers there, everyone is going to take care of her, so I think we should remember that and hope for the best. Bet if she were sick, there'd be dozens waiting to help her. No doubt.

I am not going to worry. Fret, maybe, but not worry.

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Wait I forgot

I went to the doctor for my yearly physical.

The nurse starts with certain basics.

'How much do you weigh?' she asks.

'135,' I say.

The nurse puts me on the scale. It turns out my weight is 180.

The nurse asks, 'Your height?' '5 foot 4,' I say.

The nurse checks and sees that I only measure 5'2'.

She then takes my blood pressure and tells me it is very high.

'Of course it's high!' I scream. 'When I came in here I was tall and slender! Now I'm short and fat!'

She put me on Prozac.

What a bag...

Tubby, my dear, you need to go to sleep. That one was incredibly funny.....
Nite, now. Thanks for leaving me laughing.

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Sharran your welcome..Just watching the last of the news..Nite

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Tubby, I gotta tell you....
I am an old schoolteacher and some of your jokes are rough for me, but you have to be one of the happiest men I know, and I so admire you. You never complain, you always leave me smiling, and you are so generous with your time and your talents. You are just a really good person, and I think your family and friends are very fortunate to have you.
And we are lucky to know you.
So, along with your good night, thank you for sharing your fun and your life with us.

Baton Rouge, LA

Amen Sharran! Tubby - you are full of ......(something)..........life! I guess that's what it is! :)

I'm "Past Bedtime" as well. Not sure how much longer...

I'm on late tonight because DD1 had to stay up late on my "good" computer to type a paper.

Just now winding down.

Hugs,
Mary

Baton Rouge, LA

Hey Laura;

I'm not on long....just for a bit....

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Crissy, did the Crocus look like they’d bloomed out but were soggy? That’s what happened to mine. The greenery is doing just fine but I haven’t had a bloom survive. I’m thinking it is due to the freezing weather we’ve been having; I mean we had snow last week! It was great weather the last couple day, which I was ready for, back to rain on Wed.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Just popping in for a few.......Tubby, wish she would loan me some of her Prozac.....I am all out until we get our insurance.....not a good thing...we stopped out to see our brother in law today.....was not good, I won't go into the details...I was in tears when we left....that was a five minute visit, and I am suppose to spend most of the day there with my sister in law tomorrow.....I don't know how that is going to work with no medication.......it is going to be a very long day.

Hope Betty is home and safely asleep.........

Have a good night everyone.

Glenview, IL

Trisha, sending you hugs and warm thughts.

Anyone still up??

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Be back to you all when I get to work..
Got home ok..stormy as heck out there again this morning, today I have to drive myself so will leave extra early..

Came to post..no internet, called Rogers and the young lady tried to help me do several things to get back online, but no go, earliest appt. I could get for a house call was Wednesday between 5pm-8pm..called Cathy and asked if she could be here from5 to 6 as you couldn't tell them to come the latest appt. you pick that time slot and someone has to be home....

I just came downstairs and what did I find, internet working, now I have to call Rogers and cancel the appt. - might have been all the weight on the wires... no plows, municipalities have put them in some areas away for the season ...

Can you imagine, I went to bed at 6:30 last night, not on a downer but my tummy is topsy turvy..thinking of all the things that COULD go wrong on my trip..I'd just die if something happened to one of those youngsters..know it's just the jitters...better get myself out of that frame of mind..then I called Greg's to chat, Melanie said she came home early Noah was running a high fever...OMG now what..would I actually go IF 1 couldn't go because of illness? I'd feel like a traiter..
Can you imagine, I'm usually a 'feet on the ground' type person..I'll have to mellow out and worry about it Thursday..surely he'll be well by then..am hoping no one else gets the bug..

Then I find out yesterday after getting the kids all excited that last week tickets for the Easter Hunt went on-line and all gone...none of the reading clips I've been on even mentioned tickets or when they were available...now I have to disappoint the little ones..

Not my day..hope it gets better..
Read through the posts quickly, I'll have all morning to read and comment...

Thanks for worrying about my safety though..much appreciated...

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Betty glad your okay..Shirley says you probably had computer withdrawals, Like me on Sun. when power was out..LOL

Now stop worrying about something you can't change.Think of all the fun & memory's you'll have

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

I see on the news that a man wanted to escape the Canada storms..He stole a plane and flew it Mo..LOL Not really funny..But ya have to laugh..Where did he think he was going..DUH

Victoria Harbour, ON

Easier said than done at time Tubby..just got in, talk about bad road conditions.slush then freezing yesterday, then snow and blowing all night yuk..think my plowman's contract ended April 1st. - I've a long driveway so will have to use the snowblower tonight for sure...saw that very little spray was coming out of the pond feature so unplugged it, hope it's not cold enough to freeze the motor, drats why did I do the clean up already...lol...I know, no patience, must be done today!

Laura, financial problems can certainly take the limelight off of romance..what can you do..hmmm

I remember I would purchase some chinese fortune cookies, take the little papers out and put new little meaningful fortunes and romantic things in them and include them in his lunch..or I'd make a slice in an apple and put a love letter, or in his sandwhich, although he said it was embarassing to open his lunch in front of other I know he just LOVED it...got me a few brownie points

Glenview, IL

Good Morning!
Betty, so glad your computer is back up!

Now, i sure Hope Noah will be feeling better and no one else gets sick...

Did you see what time I was on last night, my gosh having a terrible time sleeping! Go to bed at decent time only to wake at midnight and I am up most the rest of the night! Can't really do much without making noise, while the rest of the house sleeps. I don't get this.

Well, hope you all have a sunshiney day, off for an eye exam.

Victoria Harbour, ON

No sunshine for me..lol...did see Judy the time you were up, spent time gabbing to Rogers Cable then upstairs and to bed..imagine 6:30pm didn't realize it was so early, guess because we left the office at 3:00 did the same chores as always and called it a night..woke up twice, watched a t.v. program and had to kick myself to get out of bed..I'd best call Rogers and cancel tomorrow night's appt. just incase I forget later...you'd think they'd have checked to see if more were having difficulties in the area before scheduling a repairman..Judy you'll be wanting a nap after your appt. - I too must make an eye appt. finding these glasses aren't doing it for me...you've probably got your days/nights mixed up..

Paul and Suzanne had an early appt. with clients..were here at 8am..Suzanne has to leave at noon for the city..once her meeting is over she picks up her son who is at college, her daughter is moving into a new home tomorrow and son is coming to help...if it were not for that she simply would cancel the appt. for another date...

Sorry Laura you won't be going to your DH work event..you were looking forward to the outing..couldn't you both pick someone, even if it's only a drive, get yourself spruced up and go out? does DH have any children from previous relationship/marriage?

Mildred, the church gossip, and self-appointed
Monitor of the church's morals, kept sticking
Her nose into other people's business..
Several members did not approve of her
Extra curricular activities , but feared her
Enough to maintain their silence.

She made a mistake, however, when she
Accused Frank, a new member, of being an
Alcoholic after she saw his old pickup
Parked in front of the town's
Only bar one after noon. .

She emphatically told Frank
(and several others)
That every one seeing it there
WOULD KNOW WHAT HE WAS DOING !

Frank , a man of few words,
Stared at her for a moment and
Just turned and walked away.
He didn't explain, defend, or deny.
He said nothing..

Later that evening,
Frank quietly parked his pickup
In front of Mildred's house ...
Walked home
.. . .and left it there all night !!!

(You gotta love Frank !)

So laughing Tubby, great sense of humour Frank had..lol .. that's so cute..

Melanie (Kyle/Noah's mom) just called, here I'm worrying about having the 4 kids and having an accident, while she and my other DIL Lisa are worrying about what if something happened to me..Kyle is 13 so will prepare a package of #'s and what to do with he and the boys..imagine...

LOL LOL LOL Tubby! You are so funny, I'm so glad you're on here with us!

Betty stop worrying over your trip, you will all be fine. We're trying to plan one to Knoxville TN the week of May 18th but afraid he either won't get the time approved or get laid off after he gets back. Sometimes when there are storms the internet can't handle it. Try satellite internet, it goes down every time it rains hard, or the sun is in the wrong position. lol!

You are just too much Tubby...

Fingers are frozen, chilled to the bone..back to the micro furnace being on next to my desk...

Been to Knoxville Crissy, stayed there a few times while travelling to Florida..is it a place you just want to visit or do you have family/friends there?

Yes, I've had satelite before, always problems..things with internet is my television stations weren't affected so not sure what happened...

LOL...something Roger would have said....

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

My family vacationed in Nashville 3 times when I was growing up, when I was 9, 11, and 13. One of those trips, I think the 2nd one, we went to the Atlantic Ocean (coming from CA it was a real treat!) and did the whole Chattanooga, Pigeon Forge, Knoxville thing. I've been wanting to go back ever since, now that we live back here and Dave has finally agreed to it, I'm excited.

Oh my boss is ssssssooooooooooooooooooooo funny! I was telling him Dave's situation with it and he said, "So are you going to get the time of???" ooooooooo he's rotten!

Ms. Cheerful isn't here again!!! One of the ladies is all worried about her. Maybe this is mean but I can't waist my precious time.

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Ya when I read it to Shirley..She said oh ya he would be dead meat...LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

Crissy will you be driving...how long would that take you...

When I took the seniors on their annual trips, I took them somewhere in Tennessee I believe to see Casey Jones Train Station..loads of fun, remember purchasing engineer coveralls for the boys..

Spring is here, aren't we all getting the travelling bug...

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

If we were to drive straight through from my house to downtown Knoxville is 8 hours. We'll be off work from May 16th thru May 25th so we're going to have lots of time. We're going to spend the night in Memphis to see Graceland (I've done that too in one of those Nashville trips.) Then we'll probably spend the night in Nashville so I can do some reminiscing, then I want to drive down to Lynchburg and tour the Jack Daniels Distillery again, then over to Chattanooga to show him the mountain and battle grounds and maybe the choo choo lol, then up to Knoxville and Pigeon Forge. I'd like to drive back home through Alabama and Mississippi but we might be too tired and out of money for that.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Trisha/Laura, praying for you today...will be a long day for you both but am sure Trisha your SIL will appreciate it..days are long when you are frightened half to death at what the outcome might be...

Shar, you said you had a busy day today...are you working with the art project?
