Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Good Morning Everyone! Have you all been watching the national news? Tornado hit Mena, AR killing at least 3 and injuring like 25 others. Mena is about 2 hours due West of my house. That specific storm had lost it's power and went North of me, but another storm right behind it put me and my next door neighbors in the storm shelter for about 5 minutes. We didn't get hit, thank God, but boy did it hail!

Laura it's about time things calm down for you girl. You've had too much lately.

I'll come back later and read more.

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Crissy glad to hear from you..I heard it on the news this AM. Did the hail do any damage. Hope not..What did it sound in your shelter.."Little Drummer Boy"

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Crissy, so glad to hear your OK, and no tornado!
Haile is bad enough, how bad is your damage from that?

Betty, if your reading, they are still waiting for you to judge the last years raise my baby!

LK

Glenview, IL

Hi Linda Kay!
meant to say what a wonderful photo you posted, I hope you enlarge and frame it.
Glad the trip was good.

LOL, yep Judge Betty...you KNOW, you wanna make me the bestest momma! ROFLOL
(hey what can I say) Can't hurt to try eh?

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I didn't go out and look at the damage, if there is any I'll have broken seedlings. I had to finish cleaning up from the wasp ordeal. My babies in Styrofoam cups made it, one has a couple of broken leaves but I think it'll be fine. Dave was at work but watching radar all the time and he knew we were in the shelter so I'm sure he'll assess the damage, if any, this afternoon. The hail was between marble and golf ball size! There are metal screens over the air vent pipes and the door is very heavy steel with a plastic covering, so it was loud.

Glenview, IL

OH my Crissy! So glad you have the safety of your shelter.

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Hail here right now, black as night and under tornado watch.....sheesh.....Little drummer boy is right.

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Sharran hope there is no damage..

Baton Rouge, LA

Sharran & Crissy - Hope it passes through & leaves you two alone! Hugs, Mary

Glenview, IL

Yikes, i hope that passes without being a tornado...

Be safe everyone!

Just cold and blustery today...

Hello All;

Hey Judy - well we colored eggs and did the Easter Egg Hunt (with the special "golden" / foil wrapped egg)

All up until last year....So I'm a little bummed because I don't think we'll do it this year.

Easter was traditionally at MIL's house. We're missing DD1 - she went to camping/beach/FL with BF's family and not back until Sunday late.

We're missing DH's brothers family this year so all the plans have changed. We may just go to church and then go out to eat. I told DH no reason to cook a big meal when we were missing so many....

I am sad...maybe next year we'll pick back up with the tradition.

Happy 24th Anniversary! So next year it will be "Silver". Anything special planned? That's awesome!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Happy 24th! That is awesome!

So I forgot to tell ya'll, after the storms last night I went out on the front porch for a minute and left the door open, my toad from last year was in the house! He lives under the cement. He/She's just so! Good thing I forgot Tiga in her cat carrier!

We don't do anything for Easter, never any family plans or anything, so Dave's going to work all weekend so the people with kids can have it off.

Glenview, IL

I know it is really weird when thye grow up and make their own Plans! My DD#1 will be going to her BF for dinner too.
She got something brewing tho, I think for our Anniversary...hehehe little tell tale hints, like top secret folders and she and her sister have been "sneaking" off shopping, "to pick up some thinngs" lol...It will be nice to go to breakfast after church. Yep, I do hope your tradition will be back on target next year.

Thank you! Yes we are looking into Mediterranean cruises. We did find one we are particularly very interested in, but haven't fully decided.
It's got to be soon though.

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Happy 24th Anniversary!!!! Seed..

This couple had been married for 25 years..At breakfast he said remember our first breakfast, We ate naked..She said we should do that now..So they both take their cloths off..She sits down & says honey my breast are just as hot for you as that first morning..He says they ought to be.. One is in your coffee the other is in your oatmeal...LOL

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

LOL

Synda, that is so funny!

LK

Baton Rouge, LA

Crissy - that's sweet of DH to work so others can be with fam!

Judy - You'll have to keep me in the loop on your plans.....I'd love to plan a trip like that one day. I've always said I want to go to Greece.

It's neat how (most of the time) you can tell when something is 'up' with the kids. :)

Crissy & Sharran - has the bad weather passed?

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

HAPPY EASTER

The Rabbit and the Blond

A man is driving along a highway

and sees a rabbit jump out across the middle of the road.

He swerves to avoid hitting it,

but unfortunately the rabbit jumps right in front of the car.

The driver, a sensitive man as well as an animal lover,

pulls over and gets out to see

what has become of the rabbit.

Much to his dismay, the rabbit is dead.... .......and it's the EASTER BUNNY!!!!!!!!!!

The driver feels so awful that he begins to cry.

A beautiful blond woman

driving down the highway sees a man crying on the

side of the road and pulls over.

She steps out of the car and asks the man what's wrong.

"I feel terrible," ! he explains,

"I accidentally hit this rabbit and killed it."

The blond says, "Don't worry."

She runs to her car and pulls out a spray can.

She walks over to the limp, dead rabbit,

bends down, and sprays the contents onto the rabbit..

The rabbit jumps up, waves its paw at the two of them

and hops off down the road.

Ten feet away the rabbit stops,

turns around and waves again,

he hops down the road another 10 feet,

turns and waves, hops another ten feet,

turns and waves,

and repeats this again and again and again,

until he hops out of sight.

The man is astonished.

He runs over to the woman and demands,

"What is in that can?

What did you spray on that rabbit?"

The woman turns the can around

so that the man can read the label.

It says..

(Are you ready for this?)

(Are you sure?)

(This is bad!)

(You know you could just click off

and not read the punch line....)

(You can still delete it)

(You know you're gonna be sorry)

(Last chance)

(OK, here it is)

It says,

"Hair Spray -

Restores life to dead hair,

and adds permanent wave."

Happy Easter!!!

Please be safe in those storms!! sending wel wishes and prayers your way!

Tomorrow my DGS will come search for plastic eggs stuffed with baby cookies (only treat DD will allow him to have! lol!) DS has a day pass for sunday, and DN & DSD are visiting me this weekend, so looks like I need to run out to the store and buy some chocolate easter bunnies! no egg coloring here, none of the kids like to eat boiled eggs :o( my youngest son is visiting his other gramma in CO this week :o( so other than that we are coking a ham and calling it a holiday. lol!

I didnt sleep at all last night :o( too many thoughts racing thru my head! Now DN is here and wants to work in my garden so I guess I'll go supervise lol!

Baton Rouge, LA

Hey ANjl;

So no candy- eh? Can you put like seedless grapes in there? or strawberries?

Glad you'll have an Easter celebration though. It just won't seem like Easter around here.

We also always used to make a "Bunny" cake. Have you seen those? you cut "Ears" out of one circle, and use the leftover piece in the center as a bowtie.

But not this year.

Tubby Tubby Tubby (Shaking head) what are we going to do with you?

Can't wait to hear about Betty's day.

Hugs,
Mary

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Oh yea, the storms are way gone, probably in NC and the area now. I should look at radar...
We went into Tornado Warning at 10:00 and it was gone by 10:45.

When I used to work in private sector and worked weekends I would always work on Easter too. Why not, I was just going to sit at home.

Baton Rouge, LA

Well - Hello To All -

I wonder if we all just fall apart when Betty isn't around...or if we're all exhausted from working outside today?

It was supposed to STORM here today....but it was sunny and beautiful ....so "The Magnet"buried out there somewhere drew DH & I out in the backyard. Unfortunately we had some errands so didn't 'play in dirt' all day.

This is just my second year as a "Beginning Gardener". And we are almost finished with the planting around the pool and "The Path Of Least Resistance" as I call it. It's a bit sad. BUT I keep pointing out to DH.....there's another area in the Backyard that "Sanford & Son" has taken over....and if that could get cleaned out......More Blank Slate! (Tabula Rasa in Latin for all you teachers on here!) :)

Well - it's quiet here tonight....I'm putting Pandora on and headed to disboards....but I will check back in ....in a bit.
...

HUGS,
Mary

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Hey Mary, made it back on. Did the Easter Egg hunt thing with Sage out at the Cider Mill today...petted little goats. saw chickens, Guineas, Turkeys, Piglet, Cows.....loved the little goats....brand new babies! Hot dogs and apple fritters.....too many people.....rain. So glad that is all over with but she had fun....
