Did go to Midland, dropped into the office to look at Paul’s seadoo seats he wanted covered, you are right Karen, no way I have strength to pull over the leather skin over the seat and staple.LeeAnn told him she didn’t think I would have the strength and for sure I don’t. Told her if Paul came to do it I have the equipment and could help..we will see.
I had a hunger on for grapes so picked a big bag up, think I ate about a third on my way home.
Wind warning on for tonight..up to 80kl. Always worry about hydro going out.
Marie was here for awhile, said she hadn’t seen me walk this bad, note to self, must use the chairlift for awhile.
Lindakay, you sure are enjoying the one block quilt block, what colours this time.
Talking about strength, couldn’t cut glass fir the pine tree, wrists/arms won’t cooperate so I fudged it, my to do tonight is to pull it apart and salvage the bevels…grr
Best/Worse/what did I learn today? Come sit & chat..newcomers always welcome!
AMEN!!! LOL.... people do not have a CLUE! Frequently drop off stuff & I think they believe in the magic cobbler; it just "Happens".
Took it all apart, not easy, bevels are in the zinc with boiling water to help what is left of the foil will come off easier…now that I’ve accepted no strength to do cut other than straight cuts i will pick different patterns
Pretty fabric Lindakay, once cut approx how many hours does it take to sew.
I am with you Pat, people have no idea how long it takes to do projects..maybe it’s our fault, we should be saying we are unable to unless it’s something we really want to do. I am learning!
Wish we would hear something from Sharon, worried…
Liz, any news on how Judy’s operation went?
Ziggy beat me to bed, he slept most of the day, hope he isn’t ill.
One block wonder quilts will take me several days to sew it all together
I sent a message to Sharon on Facebook.
And I got the message from Linda. I am just in a funk. I am very disappointed about inflation, not effecting me but many others. The war in Ukraine. I just do not understand how a country can destroy another country and we, the world, does nothing.
I am doing well and decided not to get another dog. So it is just me, Emma and my housemate. His condo still has not been repaired. My son-in-law and daughter are in Hawaii because Ethan, GS, graduated from BYU - Hawaii Saturday. He is heading back to Las Vegas. Has a new job lined up and his next goal is to find himself a nice young lady to marry. Hannah, first born granddaughter and her husband are moving here end of July. He is done with his residency and has accepted a job in the ER here in Las Vegas. They will be moving into one of my homes if I get the tenants out. Lease is up and have given them notice but so far they have not left. Now the management company is starting eviction.
My garden is beautiful and I planted potatoes this year and they are doing well. I have a small garden two neighborhood children are helping me with. They are having a blast. I told my children and Grandchildren that I planted potatoes and have never planted potatoes, so Heavenly Father has given me a message so be prepared. My friend heard I was planting potatoes and he planted potatoes.
Thanks for checking in Sharon.
It is very sad how bad things are in the world. Even sadder how our government has allowed some thing to get this way.
We have all been praying for Ukraine. Sad situation over there too.
Sounds like you and your family are doing well. Bet you are excited about the family moving to be near you.
Good luck with you gardening and potatoes. I love the day you finally dig the plants up to see what you have grown.
Morning, sunshine day..
Sooo glad you are doing well, worried me not seeing you post.
How wonderful more family will live in Las Vegas, much easier to have them visit.
Yes the world is in turmoil..Ukraine being the most upsetting..couldn’t sleep again last night, woke up to a war movie during Hitler’s time, shooting innocent people and children, putting them on train, bothered me so much so I cannot watch the news.add inflation and Covid well not a wonder to be in a funk.
Are you giving reasons for apartment rebuild taking so long?
Potatoes are generally easy to grow, must be powdered for bugs…absolutely nothing tastes better than new potatoes with dill sprigs over them while cooking and butter..what other veggies did you plant?..my choice is yellow beans, cucumbers and tomatoes…
We are still having cold weather/snow..I so wanted my boys on Mother’s Day to work an area I can plant a veggie garden, hope it’s possible.
Lindakay, anxious to see this new work of art.
karen how are you feeling?
Susan how did Easter dinner go?
Liz, did they further delay Judy,’s surgery..Steve much be worried.
Marie said she would help me with burning all the tree limbs, with snow and rain yesterday doubtful I can get the fire going…Seems everyday we have high winds, wil go out and see just how much wind there is.
I finished cleaning the stained glass pieces I salvaged..half in garbage and now i have the bevels ready to use was 1 step forward and two backwards..lesson learned.
Lordy, almost 11, better check the wind then get back to doing the border on Suzanne’s quilt, decided on doing 1” then 1/2’ on width of border.
I love tiny new potatoes. My grandfather...well actually step grand but he loved us all...would dig me some early potatoes and bring them out to me every year. He also brought me his first rose to bloom. Now see why we loved him? He also adopted and raised three of my cousins after their dad died. This was after he was retired.
Betty, I'm feeling so good I knock wood every day.
That is wonderful news Karen, longtime coming, now if you can keep from overdoing, have you worked on any sewing?
He was indeed a special man, someone to look up to for sure, aren’t we all lucky to have had someone that special in our lives?
Forget if I showed you the earring and pendant sets the 5 kids did Saturday?
Will look better once the shelf liner is dusted off and pieces wiped..have to check if I have any E5000 glue so the can finish their project?
Had turkey dinner earlier, piece of apple pie awhile ago so guess that is my eats for the day.
Because i had a long nap I should go back and see if I can do more on quilt border..way to much work doing this design, oh well.. hoping to have binding on it and delivered by Monday, might be difficult as i have a full slate til Saturday afternoon at 1:00pm.
Got a call from my niece LeeAnn, Paul and 2 of my other BIL’ will meet me at the office at 11 tomorrow, I I’ll bring my equipment and knowledge and they will so the grunt work lol
So wish I could spent time outside, darn wind is strong so even when the sun is shinning it’s beyond cold.
That's great Betty. You are saved from pain, in addition, they are learning how to do it too.
Glad to hear they will do the grunt work.
Beautiful earrings.
Likely they will teach me a few things, all jokers like my hubby.
In the morning I’ll make cording out of painters floor cloth..do know if you use the compressor they really go into leather and it so if we put strands of floor cloth over the leather then stapling should help
Did another side of that quilt, it’s sooo long.
Just came to bed, now i am wide awake, saying to self “that is what you get when you sleep most of the afternoon”.

Hope you get some sleep.
I had a good day. I did a load of wash and then spent about 3 hours in my courtyard. Cleaning up after major wind storm. I have been deep soaking several area. My garden helper had plugged many irrigation drips. Those drips watered the fig vine. The fig vine covers a whole front area of my home near the front door.
Karen, what a wonderful Grandfather. Such wonderful memories. My mother's parents died when she was young. Came here from England. First two siblings wee born in England. They both died from TB. My father's father I think was a sperm donor. My father's mother was married at least 6 times. We do not think she ever got divorced, just moved on. She was a cook for the railroad. We went to Portland, Oregon every year for 2 weeks vacation and Daddy would always ask the same question when we pulled up to her home. "I wonder who will be her husband this visit"? She ended up marrying a man about 20 years younger than her, from the railroad, and he took care of her for the rest of her life.
It is time for me to sign off. I cannot post photos because they are not transferring from my phone to my computer library.
Pouring rain here, read the posts and I will be back this afternoon to post, so much to do today
Still raining
Sharon, wish I had spent more time looking at what different flowers you had when I was there, don’t know what a fig plant looks like, a vine? Going to check google.has your weather also been unusual this year.
Oh my 6 times married, that must be a record…hmm wonder what the record is?
Gee i will never sleep, be on checking all these things lol
We have Covid and they had TB, terrible disease, were your uncles very young?
Any news on Judy Liz?
Lordy that was a long day, was up at 6:30 and got my chores done, got the young ladies bag cut out for her as I don’t want her using the rotary cutter, left for the office around 1030, picked up Tim Hortons donuts a dozen of them seeing Mike and Paul we’re going to be at the office and Leanne. Work till three on the Sea-Doo Seat skins, turned out beautiful left and came home with the doz donuts..aprrently all are on a diet.
Got here at 3:30 after picking up glass i ordered to size for the picture frame she brought me that needed to be replaced.
Went downstairs to check if I had everything for the mom and daughter sewing class at 6:15, young Lily came at 4:15 and did the outer section of the bag she wanted to do so I am tired and shoulder giving me the what for not any worse than usual..just climbed into bed, let’s hope sleep finds me.
You have had a busy day. Hope you sleep well.
Easter dinner was lovely. We four enjoyed each other's company. Dianne brought scallopped potatoes, and Ruby & John brought apple sauce & carrots. I supplied the ham. Afterwards we played crib.
Tuesday was our last League night, then next Tues we end with "Fun Bowl". Our team finished quickly because the other team pre-bowled. We waited 45 min for the other teams to finish so we could see who won & get pictures for the town newspaper. We didn't win. The snowstorm was TERRIBLE and I Really wished she hadn't wanted us all to stay. The roads weren't plowed and the RCMP were advising everyone to stay OFF the roads. The bowling manager said I should not drive home. I told her I'd have nowhere to stay so had to go home (no funds for hotel, that's for sure). She didn't offer for me to stay there. "Funny" thing was, my auto garage had suggested I switch to Summer tires just that morning. I'd only asked for an oil change. Oh well........... when I came to pick my car up, he'd put in a new filter. So, instead of $80 or $90, the bill was $138. Shouldn't have gotten the summer tires on. I was sliding all over the place & thought I'd end up in the ditch. There were VERY few cars driving Tues night, so that was good. My little Chevie Escort is little beast. Plain Jane, with no heated seats, moon roof, no clicker to open/close doors or set off alarm, Just a basic automatic car. I love it - cheap to fix. I really don't need all the bells & whistles. I was glad my winter tires were still in my back seat (weather was too nasty to be hauling them out of the car into the back yard shed 100 feet away. They provided weight, so that was good. I got home about 9:15pm, shaking from the drive. Not being plowed meant I made my own ruts.........
Today was my first meeting as President of our senior centre. It was a pretty good meeting, except for the fact that Senior's Outreach scheduled a speaker for us, and he talked for 45 minutes. Our meetings usually take that long. We had a longer one this time because I wanted to set a calendar of events up to January. There was some grumbling about that, but one of the members said that of course I was wanting this because if we're going to have a membership drive (we are), we need to let potential members know the kinds of things we will be doing. Also, if we have a Robbie Burns dinner in January, we have to book a piper by September. I still don't know if the membership will go for the Robbie Burns dinner.

Susan, you are braver than me!!! When the RMCP recommended everybody stay off the road, I would have said "Sorry, NOT staying!!! Gotta get HOME!" What the car garage did, "Upsell" without your permission was not right!! I am surprised no one offered you a place to stay over night. The "next guest speaker" will have to be given a time limit!
We're still working on Marie's office, trying to get it cleared. Her son is coming today or tomorrow to install new lighting in that room. The delivery and set up date is FAST approaching!

Oh Susan you are brave to weather that storm, thinking I’d have let the car run from time to time and sleep in it or there must be at 24 hr gas station or restaurant you could have sat in, they are very good with that. Thank the Lord the snow tires were in your vehicle…they should not have done the work on your vehicle without your consent.
Glad you enjoyed your Easter gathering…if they haven’t been active It will take some convincing to get them seeing your way as to what needs to be done to bring in more into the membership.
Pat, will be soon all the work will be behind and Marie and you and then the fun begins..you will be quilting for others.
Almost 50 today, light breeze
I looked out early this morning and Marie and Ted were raking, did that bad ditch out front that is troublesome when it rains, then raked whole yard. I was inside waiting for Doctor to call, as soon as I answere the phone he asked how my beautiful gardens were, said way too much work for me but I had kind neighbour’s helping.
I did a bit of raking but tended the fire pit mostly and burnt all those limbs.
Ted put front deck stained glass windows up and the big painted flower in its frame.
Such great neighbours.. won’t take anything so when I go to town this afternoon I will pick up a hanging basket for her and a small bottle of rye for him..he did the mound of earth where the Snowplow aphid pushed earth, Jukes was suppose to come Monday with his men but it’s done..
I sure am blessed having neighbours like Marie and Ted.June lol
Now the pump is in the pond emptying it, i won’t get in promise..i will leave it til it dries out and i can get all the leaves out,
I am as dirty as can be and all that smoke is on my clothes and in my hair..need a hot bath but not before i go to town around 3..will be an early to bed to get comfy
Dr, called me this morning, went through some things then I asked about the specialist, i truly think he forgot about it..anyway he said these specialist are a dying breed , I would have to go to either Scarborough or North York but he sent the requisition..told me again I best not have surgery and I said that I’m not looking for surgery just want a soecalist to look at my file and explain how bad it is. my doctor said if there is anything new out there that I decided I would do then he would have to have me have a back mri as there is damage in that area as well…so that is that..I image with only 2 specialist out of our region it will take some time to get a date.
Came in for pop, best I go sit on the lounge chair I put out check how the pond is emptying IF I can walk that far.
Need to breakdown and buy a cane big sigh
Omg, went to brush my hair after putting clean clothes on to go to town, thought that is odd, front of my hair looked yellow
Got closer, yikes front of my hair is all singed from the fire
HOLY cow Betty!!! I think your fire was HOT and ya got a tad too close!! LOL... I will bet you STINK like campfire! LOL
That I do..didn’t think I was that close but must have been
I know, i was so tired that when i went to car it was locked, drats forgot my bag in the house so set the stained glass lampshade mom gave me, I had made it and one panel cracked because she bumped into it so i set my pop and the shed on the ground, left for town, got to stained glass studio here I had left in on the ground in the driveway.
Didn’t want to cook so got out my last TV dinner, would you know it is a turkey dinner, shaking my head, had turkey all week grrr
i bought a beautiful hanging basket at Woods Nursery then liquor store for whiskey for Ted as a thank you
So I I am going to eat it then head to bed
You truly sound like you were so tired you should NOT have been driving!!! Please be more mindful of your current status, know that nothing is as important as YOUR safety!
Glad you didn't get any closer to that fire Betty. Hair will grow back.
Susan, glad you made it home safely.
Pat, I bet you can't wait to get that longarm machine set up.
Glorious day today, finally. Perfect for the porch.
This is one of our three dogwoods, the last to bloom and I think the prettiest. This is also the one the hummingbirds sit in when they are guarding the feeders. I put them out today too as they will be here any minute.

Beautiful tree Karen.
Morning everyone, light rain, calling for the same but a nice day tomorrow, had it not rained today I could have got the pond up and running.
Think Pat I just had so many things rambling in that mind of mine..the stained glass hades is now in my car..just from my description Gayle didn’t think she had any, many of the glass makers have closed and getting fewer supplies she once had.
Yep Lindakay, I can see Pat and Marie doing the happy dance
Need to make a coffee, some cereal Before the boys get here at 9:00
Yep, it's exciting!! Can't wait to get our project on. Marie is already bemoaning that we have haircuts scheduled for Friday morning, the first day after our installation & training is complete!! I would liked to have several more projects ready to start before Thursday but I have spent my time helping Marie or in the DDS chair.
It got to 70 yesterday!! I was so hungry yesterday after the DDS, I had not eaten lunch, the DDS was 1.50 and I did not get out until 4. I don't know about you, but I do NOT eat after the DDS. Too afraid I'll hurt myself I am so numbed up. When I finally ate at 9 I ended up throwing it up anyhow. Oh well.
Oh wow Pat, lots going on in your world, what is DDS?
Best Marie and you just slow down as well, you always say I am doing too much but look at you girl…
No 70’s here, I wish
Seems it will be a sunshine day then rain day continuing same fir 2 weeks, add a snow day
Dentist :DDS
Since we BOTH will be using the longarm, seems only fair that I do everything I can to help prepare for it. Phil's legs are really bad again, red clear to the knees but at least they are not swollen. Marie takes such good care of him, the MDs don't seem to have much more to offer in the form of suggestions. Cognitively he continues to decline & it sure takes a toll on Marie.
Another chilly November day here. I actually wore my winter coat when I went into the village. Rain in the forecast for this afternoon.
I'm still wearing my mask but I was sure in the minority at Foodland. Even some of the staff were maskless. The number of cases of Covid is rising increasing each day.
Need to get my tax info to my accountant. Apr. 30 is our deadline.
Betty I am sorry you weren't able to get the tree finished but kudos to you recognizing you couldn't physically complete it. It's a real kick in the pants when you start to acknowledge some things you just can't do anymore. I know I've chosen to ignore a few but I end up hurting like the dickens once I have finished the task.
Deb how are you feeling today ? What a great burden was lifted off of your shoulders when you met with the doctor.
Somehow the front door opened and out went the TH. I saw their sweet bottoms making a break to go up the lane. I just had my sleep Tee shirt on so was scrambling to get some clothes on before I lit out after them. Before I could do that Kai then Chaos trotted into the house. Kai just freaks when he realizes I am not beside him. Have no idea why the door opened all by itself but now I have locked it. I had it open yesterday when Trevor from Purolator brought a package. He is a sweet guy and loves the dogs. He blew up FB a couple of weeks ago as someone from his route praised him and of course several had their 2 cents. He doesn't even own a computer so it wasn't until he got to work that he found out he was a star. I gave him a prong collar for his GF to use on her pooch who pulls on her when she tries to walk him. He said it was like a miracle to see the dog leash walking the second time out with the collar.
Made a quick trip into the grocery store - nothing there caught my eye. Well except for a Strawberry/ Rhubarb pie. I'll cut it up and freeze single portions of it. For some reason my sweet tooth is yelling at me to get candy.
Karen the tree is a beauty. I wanted to plant a couple of tulip/crabapple tree but DH pointed out how much of a mess I would have to clean up after them. I settled for Mountain Ash which doesn't seem to like it down here but did well at the farmhouse and where we lived in Pickering.
Stay safe and well everyone.
Mountain Ash was another tree I planted in MI. Actually my grandkids planted everything. Every Mother's Day I had a tree or two I desired. Kids would get it, all come over and grands planted. Made for a fun day for me.
Good morning everyone.
Going to be another warm day.
6:08 am. 72 degrees, humidity is 81%.
yikes! If it already 72 @ 6 AM, it will be warm!
I have been so preoccupied with stuff,, I have not even gone to see if my Dogwood is in bloom yet!
Dianne, I'll bet you were in a panic! I keep my backdoor deadbolted as the whole mysteriously opened door happened to me once. Stanley is an INDOOR cat that WANTS to be an outdoor cat.
Morning, brrr 43 and high winds
Dianne, bet you have the same cold windy day as I have..
You either see people with winter coats or or some with shorts.
Our Foodland workers are wearing mask but I am seeing more and more this week of shoppers not wearing them and Covid numbers are climbing high.
Giggling, can see you running down your lane way in your night clothes lol
Great news for Trevor.
Did you buy the strawberry rhubarb pie from Foodland.
I have 6 crabapple trees, and yes they are messy..tulip tree Dianne, do they grow in this region?
Lindakay want your temps, tired of being cold.
Got a few cleaners out to do part of front deck, got half the black off but must do more once I’ve purchased cleaner..washed all the furniture down that overwintered on the deck, stained glass windows up and even settee pillows, wish it was warmer as i would sit out for a few hours..sneezing away, must have caught a bit of a cold while I was sweating doing firewood in pit. i cut quite a bit of my fro my hair off, a lot was so dry and brittle it came off with the brush.
Hate making binding for quilts, i will vacuum, wash the floors and just maybe push myself to get it done and sewn so i can call Suzanne and tell her to pick it up.
There is a young woman who lives the other side of Penetang and works 2-3 months about 20 miles from me who is looking to rent a room closer to her work..I checked her postings on Facebook, seems to be a nice young woman, her boyfriend and she have been looking for months for a place to rent but none available, he will stay in their apartment while looking for closer accommodation. She will call me around 3, it’s her early day off, i will speak with her..nothing lost..don’t worry, I am good judge of character lol
Time to vacuum inside, wash floors then relax for a bit
Be careful Betty, and realize you will have to adjust your schedule to hers a bit. Depending on her hours I guess. And if she wants to see her boyfriend, she can travel to see him. You don't need him, wiggling in to be with her.
Just worried about you. Hard to trust anyone these days.
But at the same time she might be able to help you out a bit, with things you need help with. Might be a win win situation.
