Glad you had a great trip. Beautiful blooms!

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Oh man! wish my peonies were that color!!! Mine are mostly white, barely pinkish but they have done really well so I should probably NOT complain! LOL They have big fat buds & will be opening before too much longer. I am happy to hear your trip was another good one.

Betty, you are sure going to need a break from your mother. Sounds like you were running ragged today. Hopefully your Friday will be slower & less pain.

Today was the first lawn mowing here & paid my helper to do the maintenance, sharpen blade, change oil etc. Also got the new 4 port hose attachment on & water started. It was looking shabby!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Looks like everyone is busy today.
Betty, you need a break.

My sis is coming tomorrow and I think we will take my aunt on a ride in the mountains. I hear the Rhododendrons are blooming and need to go check them out.

Morning, high of 82 with rain this morning..

I so want to chat but it won’t be til later..
I have the boys coming to sew, (i think) so beautiful out there they may change their mind..however i called Sharon to come get mom for the day and bring her back after supper..when mom asked Sharon yesterday afternoon if she was she said ‘I am?’

So know knows

So so love that peony

If I do get time to myself today i want to check all the solar lights and change batteries,,

Last night we had a visit from aBaltimore Oriole..Sharon had seen one at her home as well.

Pat, haven’t got the battery in my lawnmower yet, with Greg being gone off and on for 3 weeks, then off to motorcycle gathering yesterday I have to get a few emergency things done around here, the clasp over batter for sure, last t didn’t put it on right and cost me about $300 for that error

Oops duty calls

Take care of yourself Betty.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Enjoy your day of freedom Betty.
Enjoy your drive Karen.
Linda, do something you LIKE today!

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I was shutting down the DG program and it shot me back to your post of the scrappy heart quilt, I just wanted to say again how pretty that quilt is! Well done!

Marie & I worked on the longarm yesterday. It was NOT a fun day. Nothing was going right. Finally the Pro-stitcher shut down & would not come back on. We bagged it for the day. We are not giving up. We will start over next week. We have a Memorial to attend today for our Uncle who passed earlier this year. He was 102 & still walking and cognitively doing well.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Don't give up in the longarm. Most of the time it is an easy fix.
Sorry to hear about your uncle. Sending our condolences.

Good morning everyone.
Supposed to be 102 today. Too hot to be outside.
Hope everyone is doing well.

It's 64F here now.
Tues we're having a "farewell" party for one of our Wellness ladies. Ruby's moving (with her partner, John) to the Miramichi area of NB, the 1st of June. They've been trying to sell their place since Jan 2021. Up & down like a yo-yo for tire-kickers & potential buyers. We, collectively but I sewed it, are giving her a lap quilt. After seeing about Quillows here, I decided to make it into one. It was challenging for my first time, but I think she'll be pleased. She prefers black, so I did a "stitch in the ditch" with black thread (the backing is black) which meant I had to follow the "ditch" when adding the pocket and while exactly one third in the center, it was a tight fit to put the lap quilt INTO the pocket. Ah well, she'll figure it out, I'm sure. OR she'll leave it undone & have the pocket for her feet :)

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Nice if you to make her the quillow.

Victoria Harbour, ON

morning all, high of 55 today with rain.
Don’t envy you you 102° Lindakay..said it before, we are much the same, you have to stay inside most of summer while we stay in in winter.

I am exhausted with schedule I’ve been keeping, exhausted, glad it’s raining maybe i can rest this morning. If i see a break from rain think i will go plant all seeds i have before it’s too late. Cannot believe the growth and how everything is so green this morning.

Night before we had a lightning of the skies for 1/2 hour, everyone on community hub were. Posting videos, I missed it so really must have been tired to sleep through it.

Susan that was a good send off for your neighbour..young couple moving in?

Need a nap

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, is your mom still with you? How is she doing?

Victoria Harbour, ON

She is doing better and no hurry to go home from sounds of it. Sibblings phone and are encouraging her to us find a home..that new one in midland is gorgeous. I am missing my alone time, (thinking of you Pat) not used to making 3 meals a day, she has been good though when I’m tired she goes rest.

Rained this morning but sun came out mid afternoon.

How would you like to spend your days here

It was 81 when I drove home from dentist. MANY more appointments scheduled *sigh*. 3 crowns to go.... at least I have finished the repair of old porcelain fillings. they had eroded along edges & had decay.

For your sake Betty, I hope your Mom picks a senior living location. It might be like when my Dad wanted a new scooter. After seeing several, he decided what he had was OK! Maybe pick your top 3 choices and present them as options to choose from, not as overwhelming as seeing ALL the choices..

Quillow is a such a sweet gift, how nice Susan!

When Marie's husband had the back procedure, they also prescribed a steroid. His legs look GREAT again. I hope Marie & I can get out of town for 2 nights while her Brother in law & wife are staying with them in their motorhome. They come for several months during the summer.

Betty, I keep forgetting to post this. My first and only stained glass project. I really enjoyed it but just had too many other irons in the fire to take up another hobby.

Well, I am alive and well. My sister's visit was lovely. We had a lovely time and spent a lot of time on my back patio just enjoying the weather and ambience. She doesn't like to do casinos and neither do I so we just sat and chatted, made good dinners and for Mother's day my daughter and her husband one child back from graduating college came for dinner. I cooked a turkey will all of the trimmings and we all ate and had some good laughs. My grandson that just graduated served his Mormon mission in the Spanish speaking area of Ft. Lauderdale. He told some of th stories that the families served them for dinner. They found out later that the families did these dinner for all of the new missionaries. Rather unique to their culture. Some items we would never think to eat but the bys being polite, tried everything. We laughed so hard because of him describing the torture it was to get some of the foods down, like fried fish eyes, fish brains and it went on and on.

Betty, that looks like a lovely place. Very comfortable and homey. But you need to go and sit through dinner and sit in the entertainment area and sitting area. That is where you will get the pulse of the place. Does your mom make friends easily. If so, she should be fine. She might even find herself a boyfriend. I had several friends that moved into complexes like this and they both found boyfriends. One had a boyfriend die and she found another one.

Betty, you are so tired and do so much work, that you even have me worried. When you miss a day, I panic. Our temps are moving into the 100+ degrees and it has been months since we have had any rain.

Susan, good job on the going away gift. Sorry you are losing a neighbor. Two of my neighbors that have been here, same as me, 21 years, and I am really going to miss them.

Karen, so pleased you are feeling good and had such a good visit with family.

Pat, how is the group home going? It would be so great if you and Marie got to take off for a few days.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

I didn't want to lose the above.

The tenant finally moved out of my property. Last Wednesday. The property was left clean but quite a bit of damage. I have had a crew over trimming the backyard trees. She would not let tree trimmers onto the property and they were massive but now partially trimmed. Sprinklers are operational but needs repair. Grass is just about dead in back landscape from lack of water and too much shade from trees. We have a landscape design into the HOA Board for approval. Nothing fancy, just fix up, clean up and replant. Going to take out some grass and edge with rocks to stop water run off and cut back on water usage. Would have been a lot easier if it was 2 months earlier, when she was suppose to be out, so we wouldn't be fighting the heat.

Hugs to you all and all be well and happy. Sharon

Well, it was my first Quillow, so it was a bit tight fitting. Next time I would not do the pillow after the lap quilt was done. It needed to be a bit roomier to fit it into the "sleeve" more easily. As it is, the backing is all black (her favourite colour) and the front is all sorts of colours. One of the blocks is pale yellow, so the black thread shows up. As I said, it was my first one, so I'll know better nex time (if there IS a next time).

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, do you think your mom would agree to a home? The one you posted photos of, look beautiful but expensive. Be careful with the prices. I had a friend years ago put her mom into an expensive home. Turns out the home kept raising prices and charging for extra things she wanted. When mom ran out of money they tried to make the kids pay for it. It was a mess.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sharon, sounds like you enjoyed your time with family.
Hopefully you can get all the home and yard repairs done soon.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, brrr cold out there, 45° low of 37
Thought I would post early before my day goes crazy!

Karen, just love your stained glass piece, colours are brilliant, which room does it hand in

Pat, as for mom, same old think, she isn’t going to agree to a seniors home, no way..
Would be nice though if she agreed to go look at 2 or 3 to get an idea of what is out there..both of my brothers and her brother supported her finding a home close to us.
Hope you can get away with Marie..how is working with the quilter going?

Sharon, wonderful you got to enjoy your time with your sister and take in the beauty of your garden, bets it’s beyond beautiful at this time.is your rental in same subdivision you are in? Won’t it be nice. For you granddaughter not to have to worry about finding a rental..do you have an agency that takes on all the projects needing done.

Susan, about 20 years or so quillows were the thing to make..we often bought a fabric panels and cut them out for our outer pillow, what was leftover panel ended up the handle.

Mom went to let Bella out last night and Ziggy is quick, passed right by her the the wait began, every 15 minutes til 2am so this morning she said she was so tired she had to go back to bed. I am not far behind her, my eyes are getting heavier..i thought putting recycle out to roadside and it being cold would wake me up but not.

At 9am Pat will come and June after her doctors appointment.
Maybe I can sew along with Pat
Hear a car in the drive, must be Pat..be back at some point.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Betty, I made the hot air balloon for my daughter. At the time she loved riding in them. I bought her a ride for her birthday one year and she was hooked.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Ziggy is a stinker. Did he come back home.
