You are on a mission Pat and you are getting so much accomplished. Hard to sell something that once belonged to a loved one, in this case it makes sense you sell it before you’ve too many miles on it.. likely it’s the type of vehicle is in demand?
I am about to call it a day, I’m wondering if some of my not feeling well is all of a sudden being active, having friends and family over, does that sound like a possibility?
Pat I started to clean the fabric cupboards then Darlene and John came, it will be there for me tomorrow, know that I’m like you, cannot play in my happy space when it’s messy.
Hoping everyone not posting are ok and doing well.. missing your posts
Best/Worse/What did I learn today??come chat a spell, newcomers always welcome...
Glad to hear you went to the ER to get checked out Betty. Sounds like you need stronger or different meds. Praying the new doctors can find out what's going on.
Pat, sewing rooms are si quick to get disorganized. Take it one section at a time.
Garden areas I am sure are like sewing areas. Mine can get messed up in one day.
We have had two storms, two days in a row. Rain both times. But it was accompanied with high winds. Last night the storm as after I was asleep and I didn't hear a thing. I guess we had quite the thunder and lightening storm. Vern love rain storms. We would sit outside and enjoy them until the lightening got to close. One year, silly us, we tried to keep a tree from being blown down and it was a very large tree. We did not succeed and actually laughed at ourselves for even trying.
Our high today was104 and our nights are going back into the 80s. I have killed two very large grasshoppers in the last two days. They are eating some of my coleus leaves. I killed one yesterday and I will not do that again. Sprayed me with a yucky red substance that was not blood.
Betty, I love the way you rest. NOT. But relieved you didn't have to spend time in the hospital. You are a very wonderful person and woman. You should not be surprised by the doctor's comments.
Today was garbage day and some idiot put paint in their garbage. As the truck crushed it, the paint started dripping out of the truck. Up our street, and onto another street before the guard on patrol stopped him.
I got my new alarm system today and they will install Thursday. I was up early and ready to go to my lunch at the country club and got a text verification, that it is tomorrow. And we have changed it to going to one of my friend's home, who is ill with lung problems, and having lunch delivered from the club. Makes it a lot easier on me. She just lives 4 houses down on the other side of the street Very religious Mormon, and dear friend. and she has never smoked or did anything that should cause her lung problems. She, like me, was raised in Nevada, just different small towns. He son dated my daughter when she was in college for a short time. What a small world that we built houses and they are that close together. My daughter ended up marrying her son's best friend.
Pat, one of the reasons I decided not to sell was the anxiety I got from going through Vern's things. I had a dead line and I decided I just could not do it. So now I am doing it slowly but not like you, mine is out of sight.
It the doll clothes mess. If I could stick to YARDAGE I would be world's ahead! It does not help that Marie & I send partially finished stuff back and forth. She does most of the ruffled edges but I do the putting in the casings & adding of the straps to all the little tank tops/ repurposed Onesie ends.
I have several garages in my kitchen that store very large items. Two in the cabinets above the counter and two below. The cabinets below have items in them I have not seen in years. My sister is coming in October and we are going to go through those cabinets. I have enough frying pans for an army. and very large wrought iron pots that are just about too heavy for me to use. I have three cast iron skillets. And I could go on and on.
Dogs think it is walk time. It is not but I will take them outside. Hugs to all, Sharon
My post set there unsent & when I did, several of you had already posted!!!
Sharon, did you find that knowing Vern was so ill, and his time was near, that you had preplanned for disposal of some things? It's been a 17 months since Ben's passing and I am amazed at some of the stuff I am STILL finding. I know the garage will be a WHOLE new ball game.
Betty, IF "not feeling well" has anything to do with feeling ill, I would guess that all the company has prevented you from getting any naps. Other than that, I believe you probably THRIVE on all the company!
I love storms unless I am RIGHT in them. I remember one in the mountains and we were literally in the thunder and lightening. I did NOT enjoy that one so much! LOL
Today my daughters Oncologist gave her the all clear for now. Of course we still have that dreaded 5 year wait. For now we will celebrate.
I did start letting his subscriptions to many magazines expire. He had many and didn't read them but thought he did. At the end he did not notice. I stopped the NFL on Direct TV because he didn't want to watch it along with MLB. He loved Judge Judy and Jeopardy. When he died, I cancelled Judge Judy from my recording schedule. I had seen enough of her for a life time. About the last 7 months of his life I had to be his remote control operator and really couldn't leave the room because he would panic.
Great news, Karen!! You must be so relieved!
Morning all, weather is heavy this morning, woke with major headache likely from weather mass so laying on couch after taking excedrin migraine.. Drats hope border opens soon, can only be purchased in USA and if this weather continues as is I’ll be using few I have left. I am hoping taking a few today will allow me not to have to cancel perm and haircut which is beyond needed.
Such great news Karen, entire family must be relieved... perhaps next time you are in Michigan you can visit with her.
Deb how are the dogs? Sharon said hers are starting to play and are adorable.
Pups are doing good. 12 weeks old today. There is a puppy match coming up after a local dog show later this month. I'd like to take them, but I need to get serious about leash training if I'm going to do that.

What is a puppy match, like a dog show? You can train dog leash at 12 weeks?
Interesting
Tidying a bit in craft room, decided to lay down for a bit
FABULOUS NEWS KAREN!! I understand the 5 year wait thing still makes people nervous. I get it.
Sharon, I suppose you are still adjusting to quiet without all the TV. I do hope Vern was not hard of hearing!
Betty, can the Excedrin Migraine be ordered and sent across the border?
My neighbor says they saw a racoon scale our 6 foot chain link fence yesterday. She wants Adam to set a trap.
Dr. visit yesterday was so so. Today they are calling me as they are finding out my blood draws were bad news. Hemoglobin is low again...7. My liver function is not good. I also have to go to hospital for more draws tomorrow. They didn't get enough at office. I'm sitting here pushing liquids and trying to "pump me up". Maybe now we will get to the bottom of what's going on. This morning I couldn't get up. kept falling back to sleep. Slept until after noon.
Oh no Karen, that is not good news..hopefully with another draw they will be able to get proper diagnosis..hard when you know you have to drink a lot, seems you can’t get it down..prayers/hugs coming your way!
Pat, they can do so much damage..haven’t seen the baby raccoons but Marie and ted say they have seen 3 fully grown ones coming from my side of the road to the other, might have to see who has live traps, was hoping if babies were not fed they would move on but adults are here but hopefully not to stay.
Just got home, I’m bald but ready for incase there is another shutdown, if it happens I will be ready...booked another cut for in 4 weeks.
With a haircut and perm after MONTHS, I will bet you DO feel BALD!! LOL
karen, I hope the blood draws go easily and you get the bottom of the problem.
I am learning the finer points of dealing with Labs. I turned on a sprinkler, I knew they would play in the water but was not prepared for them TAKING my sprinkler! I hosed them down, rubbed them down best I could and let them back into the house. I needed to be at my Block of month meeting or I would have stayed out them and bathed them! I changed my blouse and hoped I did not smell like dogs when I went to the class.
Karen, we must have been typing at the same time. Wonderful news about your daughter. Now we just need to fix you.
Right now we are having rain. I need to walk the dogs because I have a zoom meeting at 6pm but I also do not want to get drenched. I will give it 5 minutes. I have my swimming pool just to my left and I have a window I can see the pool so I can tell how hard the rain is falling. Right now I would get quite wet. In a few minutes it will probably stop.
Betty, your hair grows like a weed so a shirt hair cut will be short lived. I have such fine hair, short would be comic.
Pat, labs and shepherds, are known to tear up sprinklers, hoses, irrigation lines and so forth. They also love to dig a big hole and get it filled with water and play in it.
My luncheon was good. The lunch was ok but the company was fantastic. My neighbor just got back from Denver and got a good report. Staying level. She has lung fibrous. On oxygen and sometimes very hard to talk because she starts coughing. She just turned 83. But she says she now thinks she may make 84. I will be 79 in August and she seems so much older than me. Weird
Took the dogs for their walk and it is time for our zoom board meeting. Hugs to you all, especially all the new puppies.
Sharon, I can believe that the Labs can be destructive! They are just so darned in love with the water!!
I mixed up milk replacement and puppy kibbles today and they had their first "something besides mama". Of course they were each only allowed a little to start with. Tomorrow will be slightly more if all goes well. Hopefully it will be Adam doing the honors, NOT me. He left for Wooten & will be back again tonight.
Yes, Betty, a puppy match is like a practice dog show, but young puppies can be entered for the experience. Regular shows they must be 6 months old, for puppy matches they need to be 3 months, and no champions can compete.
Praying that with the additional blood draws they can get to the bottom of your issues Karen.
My brother had a pet raccoon back in the 70's. Cute as a baby, but nasty and destructive as it got older. My mom and I turned it loose in a local forest preserve when he went away to school.
My daughter raised 3 baby raccoons that the landlord sealed their mama out of the attic. They didn't even have their eyes open. They sure were sweet. As they got older she would take them out and let them climb trees. When she said come on babies they all ran back to her. Sure enough when they were grown, the male attacked her and left bad scars on her legs. If you must raise them let them go when they are old enough to forage on their own.
I am in the back landscape just checking in before I start Thursday's gardening chores. ADT is here installing new alarm system. We had rain late last night and early morning. Suppose to be cloudy right now but it is not. But the temp is only 99. Like a spring day.
We do not have raccoons. Guess that is a good thing.
Where are you Betty?
Pat, it seems like you always get left with some task and they will be doing it tomorrow. I guess that is what mother's are for.
Cecil, the male schnauzer, would not eat again this morning. One day he is fine and the next we have a problem. But he has never turned down dinner.
Anyone on here ever cook purslane. I have an abundance of this weed and I thought if I started cooking it, and eating it, it would not grow.
Trip to Portland is all booked and with room, this trip is close to $1000 dollars. I have not traveled in a long time. Four days for a birthday party is all I will be there and we missed my Cousin's Betty's 90th last year so this year we are celebrating her 91st and my brother is born on the same day so we can celebrate his also.
Utah, just up the road from us, got big time rain last night and so did Flagstaff, AZ. Two rafters missing in the Grand Canyon after a flash flood there. Typical SW. No rain and then flash flooding. We are suppose to be cloudy for the next 3 hours, so it will be 99 and spring like weather.
I will check in later. Have a great day.
Afternoon, not doing a whole lot, sticking to 1/2hr active/1/2 hr resting but seems the resting is starting to increase time wise, but that is ok..
Waiting for doc to call, either today or in the morning
Warnings all over, hope Carole and Dianne will be ok..we are ripe for tornado so will be watchful. Yesterday it was Penetanguishene that got hit, just now in Barrie, the
photo is of one area.hoping nobody lost their life..
Noah called and brought lunch, he is on his way to city, sure hope he makes it home without mishap.
I’m in a bit of a nasty mood today, our government in 2021 Budget is giving seniors a $500 payment in August for 2021 and a measly 1.3% increase but is not giving it to all seniors just those over 75..a senior is a senior, don’t think that is right..if they did not have enough $$$ to do all they should have given every senior $250.
Imagine Karen is in emerge getting blood..sure hope is does the trick, terrible to be unwell.
Sharon, that is not including accommodations right? That is for air fare and car rental? Worth it though to see family, still a concern re Covid right? Going to check web on purslane, not so sure I don’t have it..don’t a lot of people pit it in salads?
Deb, that is good practice for the pups, will have to ask Sharon if we have those trials
Pat, racoons are so damn cute but they cannot stay..I also worry the adult ones might attack Ziggy
When I was a teenager, my parents sent my dog & I to dog obedience class. LOTS of the people there with their pups were ONLY in it for the socialization & practice. Many of them were professionals so they sure didn't need any instructor to tell them how to train their dog!
Betty, with all the money our government is passing out to families & businesses, you KNOW the stuff is going to hit the fan sometime. Where do they think all this money comes from?
Yes, I am NOT a fan of raccoons. But then, I don't think any wild animal should be kept as a pet. Just because they were hand-raised does not mean they are "safe".
Granddaughter Sam & I are waiting for the puppies to get up from their nap & feed them. Sam was sleeping, or busy, the prior 2 times I fed. She bathed the 2 labs & I helped with the terrier, Jazzy. I trimmed Jazzie's hair & brushed her out. They brought the cat, Cammie, home last night. Sam bathed her and put her in Sam's bedroom to dry. She will be locked up for the next week or two, then, when we think it's "OK" to turn her loose, Cammie will have access to the doggy door. She prefers to be an outdoor kitty.
Lordy Pat, I outdoor not attempt to bathe Ziggy, I don’t think I’ve ever bathed a cat
Now when I bathe Ziggy com s and wants a drink of hot water
Dr. Called, I’m to try getting off one of my meds (lyrica I take for pain) for a few weeks and see if cold sweats stop, if not get back on them..
take 2 high blood pressure pills a day, then we talked about maybe cutting one in 1/2 first to see if blood pressure lowers, if not take the 2.
will start that tonight
He will call me after my stress test
At my age it’s ok to be 150/90
Got to laugh, in bed at 6 because I put that foot support at end of bed, lately I can’t use it because Ziggy is sleeping there and I don’t to disturb him so I got head of the game and got myself set up for night..he is now beside me pawing, think he is trying to tell me to move over

Linda, I think I would go crazy putting that together. Or at least cross eyed.
Betty, I am so pleased you are following doctors orders. I tried to give my cats a bath and it was a blood bath. My sister started with her cat when it was a kitten and has no problem with bathing or cutting her nails. I get in bed and turn off the lights. That is when Peanut, the cat, gets on the bed. She always lays by my legs and I try not to turn over because it bothers her ut I finally give up and roll over. I get the cat attitude and then she will move to a different area in the bed. You must realize, there is already two dogs on the bed but if she gets on the bed before the lights are off, Cecil will chase her off.
I gardened today from 1 to 6. Once I got started I was a wild woman. I cleaned behind ever item in the back landscape that the mow and blow guys hide leaves and debris. It is all in the back landscape in different piles. I am just about fed up with ts crew, and several times they have not cleaned up these piles. They do it this time, they will be fired. It was cloudy and about 93. Perfect day for gardening.
The guy was here putting in the new alarm system and told my garden helper he had never seen a woman work so long and hard in a garden. I am like Betty, once you get started, hard to quit. I will take photos in the morning.
Karen, I am praying your doctors came come up with some information that will help your health. My friend that lives down the street was left in the dark for close to 5 years before a doctor determined what was wrong with her and she was seeing experts.
I have to sign off and go to bed. I will check in tomorrow. Hugs to all of you.
Don't you hate it when people try to take shortcuts and not get the job done? Silly people if they think they can "hide" the piles from you!!
There really wasn't much choice about bathing the cat. She had wet in the cat carrier and had it all over herself. Sam said Cammie did OK. I can imagine what bathing Stanley would be like!!! I am NOT that BRAVE (or foolhardy!)
Betty, I am glad to hear the doctor is willing to try new things to get effective control of your blood pressure.
Afternoon, when will I ever learn to not check a photo or post before copying what I’ve written. Grrrr in cyberspace now..
Karen, how are you doing today? Did they by any chance keep you in the hospital or if they did the blood transfusion are you home and feeling a little better?
Pat, although one shouldn’t take shortcuts I still plan to try and as you said doesn’t turn out very often for the better. I did find when I was cleaning under my cupboard a bottle of shampoo/wash for kitties, must’ve been for Missy but I still never used it and I would never try it on Ziggy.
Sharon I can just see the men standing by watching you work in your gardens saying Lordy I could never do that, no keeping up with you. I remember one of the doctors when I was in and out of the hospital asking my boys if I was depressed and stayed in a lot, Jeff got angry with her and said if you found out what’s making her vomit all the time you at your age could not keep up to my mom, how right he was.
Had my morning all figured out, was going to try and get hooks in the big frame and hang that window frame that Sharon gave me which was painted by my sister-in-law Charlene, went to take a few pictures and iPad shut off the game, unless it’s plugged in something goes amiss.soooo off I went to Barrie and bought a new iPad, before I went I called Kyle and he said he could transfer everything on it from my old one, he said he would come today but it’s his day off and there’s lots he’s doing with the new baby coming trying to get the room painted so I told him there is absolutely no hurry when he has a few hours drop in and get it going for me. Once everything is off this iPad it will have loads of memory and I’ll give it to Marie next-door, I took it over in front of her house and I can get my Wi-Fi on it, they don’t have Wi-Fi so I’m thinking I will just connect her to mine and let her use it.
When I got back she saw me outback working on the frame so she had Ted her husband come over and he got the picture frame put within the big picture frame I’m not so sure I like it but from a far it doesn’t look half bad.
Decided if I was going to Barrie I would bring Linda the sign of her house I had repaired and her birthday is Sunday so I have her those folding grocery bags, she loved the..
wasn’t she standing in the driveway envelope and hand with money for me, she knew I wouldn’t take any of the brat but said I must, said it was for my first trip stateside lol
Stopped at fabricland, needed specialty waterproof fabric to make a portable change cover for the baby, hadn’t been to fabricland in 2 years, didn’t look around, knew what I wanted so was in/out in minutes
Going to put some of my photo’s on Facebook, took too many for here
I love that window and your gardens.
I heard on our news today. Canada will probably open your border by September.
Praying for OPEN borders so Betty can get her US shopping fix!
We will have to see, maybe get one early Christmas shopping trip 8n and stock up at joanns
I heard that also but I did not hear September. California has an ad on their radio stations not to come to Las Vegas because our Delta Covid cases are high. I know to people who have it and that is more than I had of the prior strain. One with a vaccine and one without.
I had my first virtual Dr. appointment today and it took about 10 minutes and I was in my kitchen. I got my prescriptions renewed for 3 months. She,Dr., is home because she was exposed at a dinner with 4 people over the weekend. Everyone was vaccinated but one male felt very tired and got checked and he had it.
Mow and blow guys thought they were done and my formal garden helper went and got them and told them it was a terrible job and come back and finish. ll they needed yo do was picked up what I raked and put in piles and then rake where the piles were. They picked up the piles but did not rake and clean up the small debris.
My garden helper is hanging a hummingbird feeder ner the patio so I can see it from my kitchen. He has differed with me where it should be hung at least 3 times. I finally told him it is my home and ut it where I want it. When I start with that tone, he knows to back off.
I had to cut and run because worker was doing something crazy. Then I went behind the Koi pond, which was one of few places I didn't clean yesterday, and there was a mess back there. But we are suppose to be in the 90s next weeks with cloudy conditions, so I can take care of that. Majority of mess in my neighbor's pine needles.
Dogs and I are heading to the bedroom and we are going to watch Masterpiece Theater I recorded Sunday. I didn't need to leave the house. I have not been away from my neighborhood for 10 days. Tomorrow I will run to HD and get some spray paint. I am going to redo a table my neighbors had out for bulk pickup. Their son actually helped me carry it to my house. Leg was broke away from main pedestal and we just drilled a hole and put in a nut and bolt.
Betty, several times I have been typing a long post, scroll up and forget and look at a photo. Post GONE. I get so mad at myself. I really try to remember.
I love the picture in the frame. Goes perfectly with your garden.
Karen, I hope no news is good news. I will check in later. Have a great evening.
Well.... after initial visit with PA, the office called me yesterday and said their lab didn't get a good draw. The told me they set up for me to go to the hospital lab. We went and by the time we got home there were 3 messages to call the office as soon as I got them. I called and was told to go immediately to the hospital ER and they would call ahead. Got there and triage didn't take long to get me into a room. Seems my G.A.V.E. is back. They gave me two units of blood and got me into a room. This morning The Gastro doc. came in and said he wanted to do and EGD. By noon I was headed for that. He said it isn't too bad as yet and said I could most likely go home today. Usually the procedure is done out patient so I bugged them until I was released. They wanted me to stay the night for morning labs but honestly I am poked out. Besides they didn't give me but one of my meds, handed me a script for a med I already take, and had the list of my other meds all turned around.
Back home. I'll need to set up another EGD in a couple weeks and follow up with my new Docs as soon as I get one.
Pain in the tush having to wear a heart monitor even though I had NO problems in that area. Thing is once you've had a cardiac incident, you are a heart patient forever.
WOW, they really got you in & working immediately! I am happy to hear they are taking it all seriously and treating you promptly. I understand about not want to STAY in the hospital!
Betty - love the butterfly window picture! Glad you went to emerg & the Dr is checking your meds, etc. lots of rest for you, young lady! Dr's right - beautiful inside & out, and your garden reflects that 💖 Hopefully the borders open up. We're planning on a trip to GA this year, to visit Susan & her family, Bob & I.
I wouldn't trust having a racoon, young OR old. They're wild animals.I've hear of people raising lions who then turn on them when they get oler.
Tomorrow Bob & I are going camping for a few days in the RV. Looking forward to getting away.
Temps are cooling down here - about time. I can't handle the heat anymore.
Afternoon everyone, I’ve been up, out shopping/working in gardens/cutting wood, feels like rain at any minute so decided to come in, omg it’s just 1:00pm with it being so dark out re sky for some reason I thought it would be supper time, big sigh, going to be a long day, maybe shorter is I take a nap
Susan, so nice to see you post, glad you will get out and get some overnight camping in...wish our temps would lower as well, close to saying ‘let it snow, let it snow’ lol
Karen, how are you feeling today, gaining strength? Know you wanted to be home but might have been better to stay in? Not the time for them to be mixing up your meds.
Sharon, just got a love it here you are paying his wages to do a job and he’s telling you how he thinks it should be done lol wonder if sometimes we are asking the impossible? Jeff and Greg were here one day and I wanted a chandelier hung above the table and chairs in the secret Garden, they had a hard time convincing me that with no branch over the table it was an impossible job but I could picture running a cable from tree to tree and hanging it they won out but I will get it up 😜
Tomorrow I have a job, new pair water and soap and start scraping as many of the gypsy moths/eggs of the trees..Quite a bit of limbs off the front trees and tired myself up, although it’s so muggy outside I’d love to go soak in the tub and relax for a bit.
Baby shower is next weekend so I want to finish and make a few things and must tell you I could have a shower all on my own with her and she’d get mega gifts ...New great grandma here lol

I worry about you.
