Glad you had a good visit Betty.
Sharon, keeping you and Cecil in our prayers for good reports.
Our border patrol officers have orders from Mr. Biden. The illegal immigrants are not allowed to be arrested unless they do or have done something illegal. Everyone that crosses is illegally trespassing. But so far only certain single men are in jail.. So many are coming here with covid, and naturally our city numbers are riding again quickly. Probably won't be long before we are on lockdown again. More than 33,000 passed through the border in Texas just for June.

Pat the tuffet is foam rubber wrapped in two layers of poly batting. I probably could have doubled the batting so the cover would be a bit tighter. I would have preferred the strips to be shades of blue but at the time the strips were already cut so my choices were limited. I had bought a kit and was planning to take a class but things happened and I couldn't make a class. The directions are very simple and clear so I had no problems on my own.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Well, it's certainly cute Karen.

LindaK, I am sure you can't help but feel resentful and afraid. I am certain that I would!

Verona, ON

Good morning everyone. Looks to be another hot day here.

Karen I love your tuffet ! It reminded me of the nursey rhyme Little Miss Muffet sat on her tuffet eating her curds and whey.

Pat as a dog owner I understand why you had a fence put up. You deserve and need that space for your own use. I am very aware of the TH barking especially in the middle of the night if they ask to go outside. The TH are never outside alone unless they are in their huge enclosure.

We've had a bear sighting on the lane so now I don't walk the dogs before sunup and after dark.

LK Del Rio has been mentioned on the news several times in the last few weeks. I perk up and listen when I hear the name.

Deb I was wondering if you would keep the 2 pups.

Kai is on a tear this morning so I had better get him out for a walk,

Stay safe and well.

Morning, will reach 80 today, nice warm temps for us..

Hugs Sharon, here is hoping Cecil’s tests come back negative, know you are terribly worried about him as are the furries.frustrating for sure when you grow veggies/fruits and the worms and bugs get to them before you can eat them..you do cook/make healthy meals, salad sounds yummy.salad i made yesterday i out strawberries,blueberries,apples,raisins..everyone said it was delicious, me not so much, lots of things i eat theses days i feel like they have taste of moodiness to them..seeing only i think so it much be me. Your DIL will be disappointed for sure..we have the lock system here so water levels are kept same, but at end of system,or start whichever you want to call it is Georgian Bay, i believe it’s down quite a bit..weather sure is playing havoc with everything.

Karen, love your tuffet, yours must be the large size..can see you with hand sewing, feet relaxed on tuffet..Cookstown sewing has kits for the construction of it and patterns, just never got to making one but just might.

Had to smile Pat, think it would have been cheaper for you by days end to have paid for rent for them somewhere close by?? Half time t.v. In my bedroom, living room and craft room are going..just for company.

Just got mom up, my girls are coming to see this morning at 9, mom goes to dentist here at 11 but wants me to do her hair so it’s now or never..at some point today a friend of Melanie’s whom i quilted a quilt for her did a baby quilt and asked would i quilt it so she will drop it off,we will see if i want to take it on…good part of doing so is I’d have to get busy busy finishing the wedding quilt that has been on the frame for forever..

Got to run

almost a fall in the yard feel, going down my back steps is a tall shrub that leaves turn red in fall, starting to see patched.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Betty, IF we could have found a place that would accept them with 2 big dogs, 1 small dog, 1 cat & 3 kids full time, +2 part time, the rent would have been between $1,500 and $2,000. I can't support that kind of expense. Before inviting them to live here, I evaluated what kind of expense I could expect in repairs etc when they moved OUT. I pray that my kitchen cabinets and counters, and new kitchen floor & entry will be OK. I accept that my hardwood floors will need to be refinished, all rooms repainted.

Dianne, thank you for supporting my need for my own yard space. I don't feel as selfish after reading your post. I have a feeling that whatever I decide to "do" about their 1/2 of the yard will be symbolic of how this whole 2 years is going to go.

If nothing else, living in my sewing area will help me pare down even further and do a better job of picking up and putting up of my own stuff. I really need it tidy for my own mental health. I'm making progress finishing projects and further weeding out.

I am planning on visiting my oldest son & wife the end of this week. I will stay Friday thru Monday, it's about a 4 hour drive away. It will be a nice break.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Stanley was restless this morning. Getting into everything, trying to pull out the storage cube bins & look inside (probably figuring out if he could get himself in one).

Neither of the spots I hoped the microwave would fit would work. Thankfully I have more options!

The TH and I went out with the intention of me cutting what I call my lawn. I just couldn't do it - it is a mass of daisies. It made me think of our Debbie. I tackled cutting back the wild parsnip. My left ankle is just like a big burn and it will last for weeks. I try not to itch it but I wake myself up scratching.

Pat I just love Stanley. What is it with cats and boxes ?

Sharon is it today you get back Cecil's test results ? Sending positive thoughts.

Kai has been a stinker since we got up at 5 ish. I don't think it is a full moon. I'll have to check. He has just tired himself out and is napping. Chaos and I will get a rest.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Betty my tuffet is 18". I don't know if that is considered large. It's the perfect size for me and I was needing it for on the porch.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Stanley looks very comfortable.

Dianne, that parsnip can be bad. Please be careful.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Yes, LindaK, he has soooo many hiding spots in this sewing room. Thankfully, unless he is sound asleep, he comes when I call, or I would NEVER find him! I had never seen him pulling out the drawers before. I snapped that picture so someone could see what I meant by the "bins". It would have been more fun to get a pic with the drawer pulled and him with his head in, checking it out.
Dianne, that sounds soon uncomfortable!!! I hope it clears up quickly, not the weeks you expect.

Morning, rain day in my neighbourhood
Mom left at the same as i did, she was stopping at Sharon’s for 1/2 hr the an off to the city, Ian Avon the other Hans left face hospital to get my stress test.

Yesterday i was really off, as i walked what i thought a straight line i was going side ways, blurred vision etc
Was up good part of the night with pain in left upper arm, can barely feel my fingers..have to make a call to my physician, meanwhile stress test

I have same bins Pat, ziggy is able to paw the enough so he can crawl in..they sure can find hiding places, now mom’s dog Bella is gone home he will not need to hide and will be boss of the house.

Kare, will have to check size of tuffets

Ohh Dianne, wild parsnip is worse than poison ivy isn’t it..is it something that can be sprayed?

Your trip Pat will be so nice for you…
Long weekend coming but will be quiet at my place

Still one more person ahead of me, won’t be out as quickly as i expected
Brought my Sony reader maybe can get a chapter read

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

You are in my thoughts and prayers Betty. I am so relieved they are checking you out thoroughly.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Cecil did well on his check up today. He is not wearing the collar and I took it off in the car when we left the vet's office. She did not like that but I told her he had not gone near any of the incisions and if he did I would put on the collar. Biopsy will not be back for at least 7 days. They sent the whole spleen and tumor. Good news is he has eaten breakfast two days in a row and has not thrown up but loose bowels is still a problem. And today he let me know he knew what was in the cream cheese and refused to eat it. So picture this. Schnauzer with long beard, me trying to get cream cheese with pill in this mouth and what a mess we made. So after I finally got the pill in his mouth and swallowed, I had to wash his whiskers. Then after our short walk I had to wash his behind. . Good thing I have a dog washing sink in the laundry room.

Betty, you scare the hell out of me. If I had pain in my arm and numb fingers, I would have called an ambulance, not the doctor. I once had the numb hand from a neck problem. Do you know it is very difficult to write if your little finger is numb.

Pat, describing what and who is living at your home automatically puts you in sainthood. I cannot even imagine me being in that situation. My two cats are great at hiding. Peanut comes when I call her the majority of the time. Boots very seldom leaves the house and if she goes outside she stays close. Peanut wanders the whole neighborhood. I keep an eye on her because if she comes in to eat around 4pm, I close her in because that stop off will keep her out until 10pm. That is when the owl is flying around.

We had over 1 1/2" of rain in my area yesterday. It was wonderful to watch. A small town further South got slammed.

Yesterday we had the lowest highest temp ever recorded. I think it was 84. Death Valley also broke a low high record because of the rain. But they explained today that rain will not help the lakes. Need snow in the mountains in the winter.

Currently there a lot of birds in my tomato bushes. Hoping they are eating the worms and not my tomatoes.

Karen, so pleased your truffet is working out for you.

Diane, we do not have parsnip here. Thank goodness. We also do not have poison ivy.

Everyone, have a nice evening. My DIL and grandson are coming over tomorrow to spend the day. So looking forward to that. They will only be here for the day. But i will take one day.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Sounds like Cecil is making some progress, at least he is eating a little. Doesn't it crack you up when the little smarties know we are trying to hide pills??

When I read Betty's description of arm pain & numbness, I thought "AMBULANCE!!" and Betty calmly calls MD?? lol

I have pretty much accomplished NOTHING today. Read and that's about it. I kept putting off errands etc for when I went to town to retrieve my hearing aids after repair. They didn't get them fixed today. Oh well.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

We had good luck giving Molly pills in a piece of bread with peanut butter on it. Also helped when we gave the other dogs a pill less piece of peanut butter and bread. We made Molly wait until last to get hers. After seeing the other two gobble up theirs she was antsy to get hers and chow it right down. Sometimes we'd change it up with cheese or liver sausage.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Pat - she called the Dr & the office was closed, so will WAIT? Oh no you don't, missy Betty! You should have called the ambulance tout de suite!! This is not something you wait for, and hardening of the arteries is serious stuff, girl!

btw - got our RV back, with a rebuilt starter (the one he installed the end of April 2021 was defective his mechanic helper told us, but the boss said we "over-cranked" the starter when we were trying to fix it. AS IF!!! Anyway, he replaced the new one with a rebuilt one, and won't give us warranty on it. He did it as a "customer service" favour, and didn't charge us for it. Oh well, we're going camping Aug 10 to 13th (Friday the 13th lol). Looking forward to it.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Susan, it is sad that we put the time & effort into something, we can't count on a brand new part not being defective. Yeah "customer service favour" grrrrr.... Enjoy your camping trip.

Karen, building the anticipation for the dog was a stroke of genius!

I have some projects to finish up before heading up to Sumner on Friday. Carrie left me a dress to alter & I only got it as far as basting in the alterations & making sure it fit before she left. I need to do the actual work on it now. Marie found a shawl that matches the dress so I would like to do a little work on that too. I look forward to giving her the red & turquoise caddy.

Good morning, they say rain is coming but this morning feels like a fall day, just swept front deck, acorns galore.

I wasnt overly concerned as i was with the best heart specialist in the region, he wasn’t concerned, said there was a bit of hardening of the arteries but other than that heart looked strong. I called doctors office, says either on another line or away from desk, call back later, so will do.

Gathering my pills for the week, going back to where i waste meds forgetting all the changes of past few weeks until i meet with my doctor. Still having difficulties it’s left arm, pleased its left not right 😉

Sure hope Cecil is back to his self and that good results yet to come..hard to believe Death Valley could be so cool..weather is changing worldwide..how is Las Vegas do8ng since opening?

Well Susan, you won’t have camping weekend on long weekend but it might be quieter in camping grounds..good for you both to get out and enjoy, been a rough time, let’s hope all sunshine now.

Karen, great suggestion about giving meds..I’d hate to try and give ziggy any.
Pat, you don’t have to be doing something everyday, i spent 2 1/2: days sitting out enjoying, was nice.

Went on utube and found a few exercise programs, starting 8n the morning i will make a point of starting.

I have that big white frame in back yard, the small green trim around it is rotten, ted next door saw a huge wood frame along roadside so he thinks it will fit to trim..even gave me a can of green spray, think i will put old clothes on and see if the kind of spray he gave me works on it….being spoilt.!

Flowers along my property that Marie is growing..

Giving Ducky anything is a whole nother ball game. The one he had to have could be crushed. I bought some of that expensive canned stuff. Crushed the pill and mixed it in. He is alway reluctant to try new food but I got a similar flavor to what he prefers...seafood... He did eat it but very slowly. I had to watch that Holly didn't get into it.

hoping to not only go camping the beginning of August, but also Sept. The campground is open until Sept 15th

Victoria Harbour, ON

That would be nice, how far from home?
I’m comfy in bed, early night

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

the campground we're going to next week is only 10 min away.
We checked out another campground 1 1/2 hours away and it's breath-taking - a view of the badlands, almost straight East of us. No hoodoos, but it's the same limestone rock formations & hills. Very private with a lot of tree coverage. We'll have to look into prices, but with us having bought 2 new batteries for the RV, and having 2 camp water bottles with pumps, we're set to "rough" it with a campsite that doesn't have power or water. We have now expanded our camping ability.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Susan, scroll up. We have a new room.
