Almost evening again, they sure has gone quickly but lots went wrong!

Thankfully Pat things will soon settle down for you, everything in its place and dogs innew homes

I will attach a photo of Sharons puppies taken this morning.

Beautiful quilt Lindakay, something you would do again?

Susa, are you camping in your back yard?

Sharon, must be humid for you to say it is so..no ambulance is good.

Deb, when do your dogs go to forever homes?

Before eight I was at Home Depot and picked up a couple of plants and stain for the barbeque stand then we’re standing at the dentist store at 8 o’clock waiting to pick up mom‘s paperwork for her appointment Monday, the attendant was ignoring me ..
They had a big sign up saying to call that you just couldn’t commit and of course it was right at eight when they opened and they were having their breakfast so I mouthed I did not have a telephone and then did sign language pointing at papers in the window saying I needed them so the girl came out I told her what I wanted and she went and got the paperwork.

Was home before 830 so I decided to cut my grass, I keep my lawn more at the far back of the property and there’s a little slant towards the fence anyway I started my lawnmower what a rick rack and smoke all over I thought for sure the engine was gone and all of a sudden it started to move down the hill into the fence, oh my God it scared the heck out of me, took all I had to push it up the hill in reverse. Neighbour had a quick look at it but didn’t de anything wrong.

Call dealership who are about a half an hour away from here and they said it could be one of the belts under the main chassis that you can’t see, they have to take it all apart in order to get to it, you couldn’t go forward you couldn’t get go backwards. They said that likely they couldn’t pick it up till Tuesday well didn’t they call a half an hour ago and say they were in the area so would pick it up, pick up $50 deliver back to me when repaired $50 then repair cost and parts. Grrr

Marie came over after the lawn more episode and I took out my self-propelled lawnmower and we got it going, almost as quick do use it as the rider, better excessive I’d say.

No sooner did I get the grass cut I thought I would dig up the side garden in the back near the bedroom because the hostas are so overgrown that I can’t see the rock that bubbles with water for hostas. Pushed in the shovel and the handle broke at the base so there went that project.

Decided I’d come in to have breakfast and the phone rang, it was Cathy she had pain and pressure in her back and wanted to go to emerge, her sister would come and look after the mom who has Alzheimer’s Cathy doesn’t drive and needed a ride into Midland so off I took her, just waiting for her to call for me to pick her up.

So in the meantime I decide I want to the eaves throughs, out came the ladder, rusted a bit, nothing WD40 and a hammer couldn’t fix lol, after 2 attempts of climbing it with a brush in my hand I soon came to conclusion NOT something I could do, washed about 2/3rds of the house and the decks and decided to call it a day..

Bowl of soup and a hot bath is what I need

Too funny, I helped young man push the rider to the ramp on his flatbed, I said thank you I much appreciate it, he said pleasure is all mine as I got to see beautiful gardens ☺️

Already in bed, hot bath in Epson salt soothed the aching bones

Tomorrow is another day Pat..baby shower at 6pm, need to wrap or bag the gifts, maybe stain the bbq stand and that will be it.

Pat laughing, thought if Greg drops in I’ll jump out of bed so he doesn’t know I’ve been in bed since 4:30 pm lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Lol, saved by a call..greg just called to check up on me,
Not say what he said about ladder..I’m to call my maintenance guy that does some yard work to see if he or someone else can come do it

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

You know when we are in a "new phase of life" when we worry about our kids catching US doing things we should not!! LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

And oh do they watch

Now that Marie next door sits out all day except when she goes for 4 walks she checks on me all the time, they were gone to town when i got ladder out, I’d never have gotten away with that.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Betty, Betty, Betty (shaking head)

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh my goodness Betty. What are we going to do with you. Please be careful.

Is that a mouse? In your house?

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

We had a micro-burst yesterday and got high winds and over an inch of rain. Other side of town got 3 micro-bursts at one time and very high winds that caused a lot of damage. They also had hail and you know what that will do to your garden.

Horn worms have found my tomatoes. Found 4 large one yesterday. As soon as the clouds roll in I will go search some more. Cannot stand by the tomatoes in the direct sun because it is so hot. Clouds are 2 hours late. Only 99 degrees today.

Betty I see where the US is stopping anyone from coming or going to Canada until end of August., even if vaccinated. I think any one in government has lost their minds.

Cecil is at the Vet for an ultra sound. His blood test shows he is anemic. Looking to see what they can find. Peanut and Emma and both lost, just wandering around looking for him.

Have fun at the Baby Shower. I will check in later.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

LindaK, Betty said in another post that Ziggy presented that gift to her at 4.30 AM. Can you say "NO thanks"??? LOL

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Hope the baby shower was a success!

Betty, the pups are staying here. Since there were only two, I'm going to keep them both and show them. Eventually, I may let one go to a friend, but, that wouldn't be until they are done with their show careers.

Gong to be hot, hot, hot here for the next couple days! And, humid! Temps in the 90's, heat index around 100. I may need to drag the window air conditioner in and set it up.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Omg I made it here and it’s morning time..

Went to town and did groceries, stopped at little fresh produce place and filled up my car..corn, strawberries, small container $7 that seems a lot, $8 for corn not bad, $6 for blueberries, 5 yellow beans, $6 for cucumbers, little basket of potatoes $6 wow cost mega $$ to eat right.

The shower was great, i cannot believe the gifts they got..bet nothing less than $75-$500 and then add the quilts..shower on her side today, don’t know what possibly they could get..all in attendance got a lovely thank you candle

Sharon’s quilt, think she said 44 hrs of quilting

Kyle was so busy last week he didn’t get here to transfer all my info on new iPad
Wish i was computer savvy

Deb, pups must be so playful, you will have your hands full.
Sharon did that with one of her show dogs, actually mom of these puppies, agreement was she got it back for one breeding..can’t keep them all right? I believe she is keeping 1 from this litter.

Major storm brewing, sure hope mom makes it here before it’s in full swing

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

That quilt is adorable!!! I'm glad the shower went well. They'll probably be pretty much set up with everything they need!

I know what you mean about computer stuff, I rely on my kids to set up most things for me. I hope Kyle has time soon to get you set up.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

What a wonderful shower for them.
Are they getting married? Or are they married already.
Why does she need a c section?

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

We went to our class. I did the popup can but worked on another caddy for Marie rather than the one in class. She wants a total of 3, one for each of her machine stations. She has one almost done, I finished 1 for her. 1 more to go. Hers will all be sewing fabric themes, 1 black, 1 red, 1 white. Same as her machine covers eventually.

That baby quilt is so cute! I am sure she got lots of beautiful gifts if that is any example!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Kyle did come and put all on new iPad, said with shower today they will not need a thing

He no sooner started the process that he got a call about 45 minutes away, emergency so he will have to come back another day to clear the old iPad and set Marie next door up with it..i live close enough she should be able to get on my wifi

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

That is a really nice thing to do for your neighbor.

Victoria Harbour, ON

They are so good to me, always checking 9n my well-being can’t but not try too help where possible

Karen how are you doing

Lordy, major storm moving through trees are swaying, mom worrying what is power goes out

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Betty, I'm doing great, better than I ever expected to. Jess and i went to an estate sale nearby and I had to walk up a long steep driveway. I made it, winded but I did it. Then climbed a long stairway to their door. Wouldn't care to do it on a regular basis but proud I did it once.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

WOW Karen!! You are responding well to treatment then?

Victoria Harbour, ON

That is great news, just don’t overdo..know you know that lol

Late for me to be up but what a storm, just got as bright as daylight, wind and rain terrible

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Does anyone have any suggestions for me?? The Labs LOVE water and won't leave the sprinklers alone. I have locked the dogs up in the house so I can water. If I let them out, they will PICK UP my sprinkler and move them. They will get all icky and come into the house wet. For now, my game plan is to water for 2 hours, shut off the water, let the dogs OUT to go potty & then lock them back into the house.

HELP! Any suggestions? I think about 9:30 PM I will lock them in again & leave a message for Adam to shut off the water and open up the pet door again when he gets off work (about midnight). I would lock them in all night but Adam "doesn't want to get woke up by the dogs to go potty".

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning,

Survive the high. winds, thought it was going to carry me to the land of Oz..

Wish i had some suggestions Pat but i have none..perhaps Deb will.

In the middle of making spaghetti sauce, told mom to call this morning and see if aunt Muriel would like to come for the afternoon, have supper then i will bring her home

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I KNEW the dogs would be a challenge for me, but they create more issues than I EVER dreamed. I am little discouraged and disappointed. ANYTHING that is not really well covered in grass or gravel is a blowing dust bowl. I am struggling to get and keep everything watered without creating a mess. The constant running of the dogs is stirring up a mess.
I am going to get a microwave for my area so I can further limit my intrusion on the other areas of the house. I have explained that I am NOT comfortable doing any puppy care when they are home (NOR should it be necessary!) .
I have bought 2 new laundry baskets and put my name on them. There is no excuse why there would not be one available when I do my laundry. I wash and put up my laundry within hours. If you leave a basket of laundry down, their small dog Jazzy climbs in like dog basket.
It's a learning curve, I hope to get some things ironed out to make it easier. On the plus side, I am enjoying Sam's company and look forward to my grandson Aiden's return.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I think I would put my foot down, and tell him or someone else, its their dog, take care of it.

Victoria Harbour, ON

I’m with Lindakay, you must set down rules and tell them they must be adhered to, it is your home, you shouldn’t have to isolate yourself, know there is a learning curve but you should not not be the one bending should be other way around..how grateful they should be, way things are going you will end up a prisoner in your own home..what does Marie think of all of this??

Been making a point of sitting outside this morning, mom always talks about how she would live outside so i will take the day to do so..she is going to get aunt Muriel, she will love it..because of her stroke she does n.ot stop talking for one minute, not exaggerating but i feel bad for her, was a knitter and quilter, now she is basically blind, add COVID to the picture she is imprisoned.. i asked Sharon to come for supper, she can drop aunt Muriel home on her way back home, only 10 minutes out of her way..

That will be my day

It’s a perfect day weather wise..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Enjoy your day with family.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Am, listening to her gab, she is 92 and can remember every date from the time she was a child, who married who, their kids, their kids, birthdates, anniversaries etc..amazing..too bad she had a stroke, brought her for a walk around the gardens, she was quite the gardener..tired quickly

Victoria Harbour, ON

Day is over, imagine me sitting outside for almost 8 hrs, aren’t you all proud of me??

Sharon took aunt Muriel home, dishwasher is on and won’t be long I’ll be in bed comfy..decided to charge my Sony reader, Jeff put over 1,000 books on it when he and Greg bought it for me for Christmas, don’t think i read one book so tonight i think i will start a mystery..

How did your day go?

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Finally finished my tuffet. Had it mostly done but needed hubby's muscle for assembly. It's very comfy. Colors are different than they look more country blues and golds are softer than most look here.

Cecil came home yesterday at 4pm. Had surgery. Tumor on Spleen was size of a ping pong ball. They have sent off for labs. They said liver looked good and nothing had moved to the liver. But if it is cancer, it will raise it's ugly head some where. But I have positive thought about it and will remain that way until told otherwise. They sent him home because he would not eat or drink for them. Told me to keep him quiet, which I have done. I finally got him to take his medicine with cream cheese. Tried ice cream and peanut butter. Emma, his sister, was beside herself when we brought him home yesterday.

Mom, keeping two puppies and showing them is going to keep you busy, but you already know that.

Betty, sounds like a nice dinner with your mom, aunt and Sharon. You are so sweet. When I hear about your Aunt, I know I will be there someday and hopefully I will have someone as kind as you to put up with me. That baby quilt is adorable.

Sarah, my daughter's second daughter is having another baby, a boy, in December. Eloise Grace will be 2, I think next March. My children and my DD's children were all 18 months apart.

Karen, so pleased you got to go treasure hunt. Did you find anything? Perfect that you are feeling better.

Pat, big dogs are so destructive on a garden. I do hope this improves over time. I will keep you in my prayers.

Linda, I saw your area on the news again today. Texas is starting to arrest the illegals that are coming in on private property because the feds are doing nothing. So weird they are allowing this to happen. Over 1 million since January.

Te horn worms have found my tomato plants. I will need to search as soon a the clouds move in. Suppose to have rain later tonight and tomorrow. Lake Mead is having a big storm right now.

DIL was coming to Vegas to go to Lake Powell on a houseboat timeshare. It has been cancelled because water is to low to launch the boats to get to the boats in the middle of the lake. She may come anyway. She will let me know.

I have been sitting in my bedroom since Cecil came home. Suppose to keep him real quiet.

I made the cauliflower (potato) salad and you really cannot tell the difference. Only problem is I should have let the cauliflower drain a little better after I par boiled it, because the mayo is a little runny. I made it just like potato salad. Recipe called for chopped bacon and etal and I just made it simple.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Sharon, Your salad sounds so good!! I am sending prayers and good vibes for Cecil. Hopefully this will end his feeling puny.

Karen, what is your tuffet stuffed with?

Betty spent 8 hours JUST visiting and sitting in her garden??? Oh my!!!

I had a 6 foot dividing fence put in down the middle of the back yard to keep dogs & kids out of ,my side. I feel a little selfish saying "NO dogs OR kids" but it's the only way I can protect my flower beds and claim some space for myself. I also pay to have the yard mowed and will ONLY have their side mowed if they have all toys and dog poop picked up. I have not yet finished preparing the new flowerbed along the fence line.

I picked up a microwave today. Now to clear a space for it. I have a TV on a dresser (that is used as storage) but I NEVER watch TV. I don't know why I am loath to get rid of the TV. I guess I want the option of it when I have company that might want to see something!! I hope I can move the TV onto a dresser in the bedroom and leave the microwave out in sewing area. I'll know later today!
