Thank you, Pat. Boy, you are a busy gal! But it must be exciting to know you are going to have a new patio. Lucky that you have the place to put the earth. Cindy colours her hair..she is really a med brown underneath. I also have my hair streaked in the summer, and then it lightens up with the sun from being outside so much. Wintertime I go back to brown. This is when my friend from B.C. came to visit me in late Sept.We both love ice cream cones..but then who doesn't? LOL Our favorite now is Salted Caramel Truffle.

A nap sounds good to me too Betty. I went to exercise this morning..then groceries and then gas for the car and riding mower. Just finished some lunch and I want to go get some new shoes in Bowmanville. I have swollen feet and ankles. Must wear compression socks and none of my shoes fit except one lace-up pair that I have had for years. They are SAS. Expensive to buy at first but they last for years.. leather. They are called Freedom. I had to buy a pair of velcro sandals a couple of weeks ago in a size 8 but I take a 7. All the straps adjust as my feet puff up more as the day goes on. I need a wide width now in a seven. But you can't wear compression socks with sandals. I have an appointment with a cardiologist in Oct.

Decided to run into town for prescription and dropped into office, here it was robbed during the night, moms restaurant next to us, 2 other businesses, about 8 others on town, looking for $$$, door window smashed, glass all over.

I decided to help where I could,

My shoulder is paining badly, looked in the main drawer for Tylenol 3, looked in my bag, no Tylenol 3,checked car, checked all the places again, found the heating pouch for microwave, it was there, know I brought both things in together incase I decided to come in for a few hours... knew I wrapped about 10 of them in cellophane and put in my drawer so when I do come in I’ll have pain meds here...

Lenny (Suzanne’s husband) came in, he was here at same time as cops 4:30am as he does work here for taxi business PAUL has in town, they had been in the drawers where I sit..hey wait a minute, they took my Tylenol 3’s

Not a wonder I couldn’t find them..I’ll sit here until they put plywood across the door then leave...

Woods in until they come to replace...say a few weeks to get that type of glass in

Must play in my gardens

What a shame! Terrible. And to stoop so low as to take your meds. One doesn't think of things like that happening in small towns. Glad you got some more meds.
Home to rest now girl. P. S. I did have a nap. Now I am off to the shoe store to see if they have some shoes to fit me that are comfortable. I don't care if they are ugly..LOL

We had other food too Betty, sure you would have found plenty to eat.

My Son & family just left, already too quiet here. DDIL cried when I showed her the pillows from her dad's shirts. I told her to tell her mom to keep them until she was ready to part with them.
Friend had happy tears over the quilt I fixed for her. Brought me a cute giftie as a thank you.
Started on Advent calendars for several of the grands families, the ones with younger kids. They only had 3 kits so am ordering a couple more. They are cute, theme is Grinch. Has ornaments for each day with number on one side and decoration on the other. They hang by a ribbon on buttons. I found fancy colored glass stone buttons for very reasonable, cute and will look like ornaments on the tree too. I have every thing cut out for the three I have just need to assemble.

Victoria Harbour, ON

I doubt there were tears..hope you post photos of advent calendar, I’ve seen many but none sound like yours.
Just had hot bath, took fall piece off quilting frame, want to square it, should really put binding on but not tonight..

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I can post pic that came with kit tomorrow.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Betty this is the kit. I will add batting and backing and light quilting to the main part with the tree. I will then sew on buttons as ornaments. The ornaments each have two sides. I cut batting for the middle and will attach a ribbon to hang on the buttons. The ornament cutting was a pain in the patoot but I just sat on the porch enjoying the warm and got them all done.

That is going to be soooo cute!! What a lasting treasure.

Betty, sorry to hear about your meds. I am always amazed at the level that people will stoop to get drugs.

Carol, at least when you feet aren't swollen they are normal size!! I wear a man's 8.5 EEEEE!!! There is a nice brand of women's sandals by Propet called Breeze that is REALLY adjustable and wide. https://www.amazon.com/Propet-Womens-Breeze-Walker-Sandal/dp/B000BO9PW4/ref=asc_df_B000BO9PW4/?tag=bingshoppinga-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid={creative}&hvpos={adposition}&hvnetw=o&hvrand={random}&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=e&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl={devicemodel}&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-4583863979989032&psc=1&hvadtype=checktestBing&hvcampaign=checktestBingcampaign

Oh Betty, so sorry, there are too many lowlifes out there

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, light rain..was expecting it, weather forecast didn’t make sense, will see if I can find it lol

Been up since 5, was awake so thought get up and at it, just finishing the bedding, then floors..in the meantime I did some machine embroidery, have all the girls family names embroidered so they can make their pillows, now I’m onto a Christmas pressie..long name so we will see how it embroiders out.

Omg Karen, what a tremendous amount of work that is..you have to sew and stuff all those lightbulbs..big sigh, wish I had your patience..

I need a pair of runners, used my good ones in the garden, not the thing to do..don’t have problems getting shoes like you gals do so that is a plus.

Girls will be here shortly, the John will drop in so Wanneta can bring Pettie his dog home with her to cut his hair and do feet..

Best I get dressed before the gals get here, thought I had time to hand stitch border on fall throw for a bit but time escaped me..coffee and muffin needed before they get here

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Betty all I plan to do is put the three layers together, front batting and back and do a zig-zag around the edges. No turning involved. Oh I will include a loop of ribbon to hang them on the buttons too.

Victoria Harbour, ON

But the numbers Karen, how will you do those..

Yesterday I was trying to move the big cement dish that had a crack in it, broke in half so I stood both sides up in the garden and looks like aft seeing there were alleys, seashells, mirrror in it, liked that the 6 solar logs sat in it near the pond..Drats, now what will I use? Just happened and I never look on the Marketplace but looked to see what was for sale, just posted 5 minutes prior was a fireplace ring of metal (new) with laser animal cut outs for $35..said I’d buy it..got it this afternoon, little bigger than I wanted but very nice

Betty - took your meds?!?!? terrible!
had a busy couple of nights - I went to the hospital on Sunday night, not feeling well, and it turned out that my Warfarin level was too low, so I'm now on higher & to back on Monday for another blood test.
There was a Dog Days info session at our Fire Hall, so Bob & I went there last night. Afterwards we took brochures to 2 neighbours that didn't know about it & own dogs. Bob went to take one for a walk, and dog across the street (tied up) barked, so Willie ran over to play. Other dog attacked him & his owner hit Willie with a rake. In the meantime, trying to get to Buddy & with Bob stepping inbetween, Willie bit Bob on the hand. We went to the hospital & they gave Bob a tetnus shot & cleaned his hand - luckily Bob had been wearing gloves so it wasn't bad & didn't need stitches. Public Health called us for Willie's owner's ph# & will call Bob back in 10 days. Willie is at the vet's with a long gash to his side, where the rake connected - will cost them $1k vet bills to be paid within 1 month. No idea where this elderly couple will come up with that kind of $$.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Goodness, don't know why, but this has not shown in my feed. I had to go look for it.
Going back to read and catch up.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thought you were overly busy Glad you found us...

Omg Susan, could have so done damage to the nerves in Bob’s hand..hope all ok..heart goes out to those seniors😢

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

a friend of ours said that as the lady attacked their dog with a rake (even though it was her property), that she should have to pay the bill. I'm going to tell that they should look into it

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Years ago, Neighbor's dog attacked my sister's dog and nephew shot the attacking dog. In spite of the fact the attack & shooting was on my Sister's property, Sis was stuck with the vet bill for dog Chris shot! Too bad he didn't kill it and drop it in a grave, END of story. I don't have much patience for dogs running un-controlled and vicious. I am grateful, in this neighborhood, we rarely have a loose dog.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Betty what I described was for the ornaments. They have a front and back, number on one side and design on other, and putting a bit of batting in the middle then just zig-zag around outside. The tree part I will do some machine quilting and then bind with a pocket for a dowel to hang.

Verona, ON

Oh Man Susan what a mess !!! I hope Bob's hand heals well. The dog that bit has to be kept alive for 10 days so the Dept of Health can see if it had rabies. I went through the same thing with Duke when he bit me. Good luck to your 2 neighbours figuring who is going to pay. Maybe they can share the cost ???

When I was on warafin there was rarely a blood draw that my GP didn't called me in the afternoon to tell me to change the dosage.

When do your guests arrive Betty?

Finally raining here. It started overnight and is a welcomed event.

Pat I can never use an axe properly to split wood. My DH was the master!!! Good for you!!!

Karen the tree looks amazing. Please make sure you post the finished quilt. The kids are going to love them.

Where's Debbie ?

Deb when do your girls come back to you ?

Stay safe and well.

Bathfitters are here for “quote” No bells and whistles. $4,071.

Have research a bit to see if better to have a new tub put in or go for bathfitters.

Girls come tomorrow early evening, Debbie is also trying to come..hard with it being long weekend, so much traffic on the road.

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Wow! I didn't realize Bathfitters was so expensive! They have an office just across the street from where I work. Always seeing their vans coming and going. I've heard they're not the best for us "older" folks because, since it's just a liner covering the old tub it's not always firm footing and can feel "squishy" underfoot. I guess if there are air pockets, or if the liner doesn't exactly match the contours of the old tub. If you go that route, I'll be interested to hear.

Girls are home for now, they will both go with my friend to Florida, I'm meeting her outside Nashville in mid Sept. Charlotte is going so my friend can work with her and show her at the National show, Teagan is going, for fat camp! She needs to lose some weight to be more competitive, but I just can't get the last couple pounds off her. I've cut back on the treats, but it's hard to say no! At least with the two of them together, Charlotte, the more sensitive of the two, will have her sister for moral support. We'll all meet up in Virginia Beach the last week of October for the National.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon, rained early morning, wind is up, they say rain but think wind is moving it onward..

Deb, I was thinking around $2,500 and it would have been a go, I going on the lookout for a one piece tub/enclosure and will have it installed..even if I were to have to redo the ceramic tiles it would still be much cheaper for I’m on the lookout..from what I’ve heard from a few people who had it done, the acrylic is so hard that there is not give.

Lordy those digs do more travelling than we lol
Virginia Beach will be lovely in October, you won’t have to worry about snow. Nashville is still quite a distance from you..lots of miles on that new vehicle.

Didn’t have lunch, was waiting till later to buy cold cuts and fresh fruit, guess later is now..girls are making good time

Victoria Harbour, ON

Dusk, Joyce and the girls crossed into Canada around 4:30 and Debbie didn’t leave home till 3:45 and Betty is waiting patiently.

Betty, I had Bathfitters come and do an estimate in 2006. It was 4000.00 too.
I was quite shocked. So I went to Home Depot and found a one-piece tub and walls enclosure for about 1200.00 Then I hired a man and his son to take everything out down to the studs. and take everything away. New exhaust fan. Then they painted and put up crown molding too. The trim around the tub enclosure is a really nice finishing touch too.I love it. Easy to clean and looks as good as new.
It came to about 4800.00 for everything.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Yes I found this one and nephew will put it in..that is the way to go

Everyone is here, calling it a night...

Perfect! Looks very close to mine. The small bar in the middle of the back wall is helpful in getting out of the tub. Nice to have something to grab that is sturdy to give yourself a boost up. You must be excited about the arrival of our friends today. Bet you didn't get much sleep

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

We have a one piece enclosure in the new bathroom, I really like it.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Betty, I just know you and the girls are going to have a great time.

My DGD posted this morning. The baby possums are thriving, all 7 doing great.

I am not sure what you mean Betty. I think this is the last, most recent post. Can you link it now?

Betty cant get into the the best... thread she started. She renewed her membership, now she can't get to her own threads she started.

I wonder if she has asked Admin for help?
