Expectation is 2.5 weeks from order to install so it will be a while. Not too sure how excited the client is. She is nagging me about getting her a trapeze to assist with bed mobility and there are issues to overcome, maybe insurmountable. The government will only pay a set amount for something with a specific code. What that does not take into account is that a bigger, heavier person needs much more heavy duty equipment that COSTS the supplier more. If the vendor sold me the trapeze for the set reimbursement rate the supplier would LOSE money!! Needless to say, I have NO supplier for trapeze. I am trying to find a loop hole to get funding approved at a price that a vender will sell it to me for.

Afternoon.... dull out, last night we must have gotten 20 drops of rain, likely same today so after shopping I’ll cut grass then water.

Yes Dianne, it’s quite the event, Jeff says you meet all kinds of crazies..am sure he is speaking about he and the gang he is with..lol

Carole, how are your gardens?

Did you ever have a day that there are a dozen things you want to do but don’t know where to start?

Want to go to town to look for an iron light fixture, take down my stained glass light fixture and modernize a bit, start building 7 birdhouses(fine my pattern first) lol, want to go to Barrie and yet want to go in the morning to farmers market, being 5 feet tall I never seem to give a good cleaning to top of refrigerator, that is a must!! etc etc..watch me do nothing..well not quite nothing today as I cleaned upper two shelves in craft room..

Pat, sure hope all goes well with the equipment, am sure you will find a way.

Betty - she leaves on Sunday afternoon. She was supposed to have 3 weeks and then we could have gone camping, if things around here were "normal" but then..... they rarely are 🤣 For the 2nd year in a row they've messed up her 3 wks vacation, so not only didn't we have the time, but between the Park BBQ & my running to the get bloodwork, it wasn't going to happen anyway.
We went to the Royal Tyrell Museum yesterday & took all kinds of pics, then went to the badlands & saw the hoodoos. They're much smaller than when we went in 2007 - erosion from harsh winters & vandalism caused a lot of it.
Bob went walking up the small hillsides - mostly stone with a bit of sand.

After being told twice by husband that I am "vindictive", and then having a client request a new case manager, I took the remainder of the day off as a mental health day. I did not get a chance to staff with my lead what the client's issue is. My Lead was late coming in to work, by the time she was there, I was leaving.

I refuse to ride as passenger in any vehicle with my husband. His driving scares me and I am DONE. He thinks this is "vindictive". I have NEVER been a good passenger, his early driving was very good and I felt safe, NOT ANY MORE.

I am thinking very seriously of trying to find a new job that doesn't so closely overlap with what I do at home. I probably won't... the prospect of having to learn a new job at this age is too daunting. Mentally, emotionally I am just not up to it. I really need to try to work 2 more years so I can retire with full SS. Guess we'll see...

I'm going to get some things done that I WANT to, including a quilt top. BACK later, hopefully with better attitude and not having to try to type and read thru tears.

Hugs Pat, wish we lived closer, you need a group hug..not very nice of hubby running you down, you are far to good to him for him to be saying such things...could you go on sick leave and muddle through the next 2 years? Terrible situation when under stress both at home and work..you need a vacation girl, girls coming end of month, perhaps you should fly here and join us..

Susan, sorry you didn’t get camping, know how you enjoy it..badlands? Was that Stateside?

Went shopping, was going to walk the Main Street in Midland, haven’t done that in years but the sky was so dark didn't think I’d make it home before sky opened but I no sooner got home it cleared up .. Drats, should have watered!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oh Pat many hugs, so sorry you are going through this. Perhaps a leave is a good idea. Going to Bettys is an even better one. Get totally away from the situation.

((((PAT))))

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I can't really go on leave but I can take some random days off. I generally try to NOT take a Friday off because of have my office to myself that day instead with my talkative loud office mate who I love dearly. Yesterday was an exception... maybe even a little cowardly!!
I had asked to have that client transferred off my case load back in April, and again once since. I will have to check if ALL THAT was documented!!!! Oh well... she & I will both be happier in the long run.
As for Ben, at least he has agreed to try hearing aids.; That will end some of the yelling that drives me crazy.
THANKS all for the hugs. I REALLY don't like to be a whiner! I like to see myself as strong. Friday was NOT a "strong day". Thanks for being there for me.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Pat, we are all here for each other..

I’ve been complaining about that shoulder and neck of mine for nearing a year and everybody has been listening to me and supporting me that alone makes me feel better, knowing someone is at other end of keyboard.

Wondered why my tell me was hungry, only had a coffee this morning and a muffin and forgot all about lunch so it’s a TV dinner time.

Playing with my paint brushes, organizing specialty brushes, new brushes and setting them away, others the girls can use while doing birdhouses.

We had heavy rains today and calling for same tomorrow, good excuse not to have cut my grass .

Brian my nephew asked if I picked up new dining room table lamp fixture, said it would only take five minutes to install so I just might go to Home Depot in the morning and buy one..

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Go Brian!! I don't know when my electrician is returning... he knows I want to finish.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Pat we all need to lean on friends at some point. This is a safe place for you to vent. Extra hugs to you.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

THANKS again to all of you.

Verona, ON

Pat I just want to echo what everyone else has said ...... we're good listeners and understand when life can get to be too much from time to time. You have a very full plate and I marvel at how well you are handling things.

I've been up since 3 am and have company coming this afternoon. I was washing the floors at 4 am but would rather have been in my bed asleep.

Enjoy your day. It is already hot and humid here.

Morning all,

Rained a good part of the night, even had early evening tornado watch for Newmarket..Dianne and Carole did you get the thunderstorms?

Need a 2nd cup of coffee and will figure out if I really want a new light fixture vs old

Betty, they went back the first of Aug. Really silly to me as summer is still here.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

We had so many snow days this year that the school release TO summer vacation was delayed. We THOUGHT "we had a mild winter" when mid Jan hit and continued thru VERY end of February with snow and more snow!! I was truly thinking we were going to have snow in March. Please remember, this is a region that has been known to go ALL thru winter with NO snow!

So far our summer has been unseasonably mild, few 100 degree days. I'm afraid to think it might stay that way thru September!

Betty, I vote for new light fixture!! I love the bevel clear glass in the bottom edge of your light, but think a break, and replacing it with something more "current" would be a nice change. I am not one to think a lot about light fixtures, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much the change in light fixtures really contributed to our overall new look. I was able to just change the light covers in the hall fixtures to something that coordinated with our kitchen light (and a new light in entry that is not yet up), I got off lucky (and CHEAP)!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Lordy Lordy, looking at the clock, thought it was later in the day, heck just lunch hour so might be able to go looking for that light fixture...thanks for push Pat.

Sharon bought all new light fixtures and the ones on the home are a year old so I’ll bring them here and see where they fit.

Regardless of snow/ice days school starts first Tuesday in September..youth population must be decreasing, don’t see many kids out.

Sun just came out, still too wet to cut grass though.

hmmm maybe if I went looking for a light I could also pick up something for supper, getting somewhere downstairs, don’t want to loose my get up,and go as all is going great, getting lots done..

Victoria Harbour, ON

Went to town, sure didn’t take me very long first one I saw I liked. Salesman said it was new to the store... Not something most would pick, looks like gold metal pipe with valve on it, industrial country looking light.
Problem is to put it together it comes in pipe lengths so unless it’s perfect it could be too short or too long and no in between, but I did anyway we’ll see what happens

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Sounds ADORABLE and can't wait to see the finished product!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Omg, all of us in our family never stop...Brian is at Sharon’s working on her basement, tonight she has to empty the area where her craft room will be so he can do lighting and drywall..but not before Aunt Betty gets her light up..

I love it, photo’s doesn't do it justice..

Pat - I too am echoing the love, support & listening ears of this group.Do what you need to do, and take care of yourself.

Betty - no, it's the Badlands of Alberta, where all the famous dinosaurs were found. It's a true desert, only an hour away from us, in Central Alberta, near Drumheller.
https://www.travelalberta.com/ca/places-to-go/canadian-badlands/
We took Susan to the airport this afternoon - wish she could have stayed longer, but...... she'll be back again next year, unless we can swing it to go there, in our motorhome. We'll need to get a new battery though - this one died.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Have to research the area Susan, thanks for the link..always sad to see friends leave, here is hoping next year it will be your turn to visit.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Your light is wonderful!! Nice modern vibe.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, rained last night, hoping to be able to cut grass this afternoon, hope it will be dry enough.

Just finishing my coffee then will try to find a place to store the stained glass piece before the girls get here.

Am sure will find something to occupy myself today.

Verona, ON

Love the light Betty.

No rain here and we sure need it. There was nothing to speak of at the local Farmers Market I wanted to get picking cucs as I want to make Dill and Oil pickles. No tomatoes to speak of either. Unfortunately the FM is getting smaller and smaller. That makes me sad for the vendors.who are trying to stick it out.

Dull day here with a chance of rain. Supposed to be sunny tomorrow. Keiran is back from Nfld so we will stack the 2 cords of wood sitting in my driveway.

Waiting for a call and the TH are raring to go for their walk.

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Love the light fixture, Betty!

Weekend of shows in MN coming up, I'm staying home, Charlotte will go with her handler. After that no shows until our National show in Virginia Beach at the end of October. I'll drive to Tenn sometime in Sept to meet up with a friend from Florida who will be showing my girls there. She'll take the girls back with her and get them trained and groomed to perfection for the National.

My gardens are just a jumble of overgrown plants and weeds this year. I just haven't had the time or energy to do much. I have a huge bunch of milkweed just outside my front door. It's not pretty, but, there have been plenty of monarch butterflies around it. Saw a couple of monarch caterpillars on it last week.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Momcat, this is what my grands and greats do with monarchs. After they emerge and their wings dry, they set them in a flower garden.

Thumbnail by siliolegma

We did same..usually I pull milkweed out but left it this year to get the eggs..
Betthe kids were thrilled watching the process..I enjoyed having one on my hand setting it on a flower and watch him fly away..just like a baby bird..

Didn’t do much today, Noah came for a bit this afternoon, always nice to see him..

Sweet Caroline discovered my old doll house. I was building it at the same time I was making her grandma's (my daughter Becky) wedding gown. Caroline is building the furniture I didn't get to. I hope she has fun with it.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Omg she will be thrilled

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening all, so hot and muggy, feels like rain but may pass us by so I watered hanging baskets, if only I can keep them alive till girls come at end of month..seeing lots of fall mums in the stores, have lots in my gardens but they will bloom much later. So likely I’ll pick a bunch up and set in gardens for colour.

Playing lazy today, sprayed myself down with “that pain spray” cute name for pain spray lol, helps but talk about a smell. Ordered hot Hamburg dinner, too lazy to cook, should be ready so off I go

But before I do what have you been up to today?

Verona, ON

Betty batten down your hatches. You are under a severe thunder storm warning. Hope it passes right by you.

Hot and humid here. It is so hot I won't let the TH walk on the deck. The wood is so hot it would blister their paws.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thanks for warning Dianne..Walked over for eats and it’s rumbling like crazy, will soon start..are you going to get this Storm?

Gave me enough in 1 order to last 2 meals

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

ah Betty - you're a Pepsi girl too, eh? 😉
We were talking about us visiting Susan next year - Bob talked to the RV repairman in our hamlet, and he's talking about a barter system - he repairs our RV and Bob does his siding. Sounds like a plan to me!
I hope the storm passes you by, and if it doesn't - stay safe, Betty & Dianne!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, might get rain today, know It rained last night but if there was a storm I didn’t hear it, when I woke this morning I could have cuddle into blankets one more time and slept for a few hours but remembered joanne was coming at 9 so up and at it I am..

Made a coffee and looked out at the gardens..grrr white and black pet still here and he isn’t a kitty..Ziggy wanted out but I he stays.

Don’t know if I mentioned on here that about 6 weeks ago SHARON hired a young man to put up a fence, needed $2k deposit so she gave it to him, 1st week he said shortage in some material, 2nd week, equipment broken, 3rd week he was moving then after wasn’t answering calls..last week she called the company to give a quote, this man worked for them and was doing side jobs so they fired him ..they were sympathetic, did Sharons fence and happy about it, last night the young man called and said he was dropping off her $2k, the company said that if money wasn’t returned by 10:30 this morning they were laying fraud charges against him as he was dressed in their company uniform when soliciting for work..here is hoping she does get it back.

Susan, nothing like bartering, can get much done doing so if both sides are fare..here is hoping next year you will get to visit with Susan..something to look forward to.

Decided that with a group of ladies all doing birdhouses and if its damp there wouldn’t be enough blow dryers to paint base coats so I will give them the base coat then the rest will be fun, so off I go..

Busy day, joanne this morning, perm this afternoon..there goes Wednesday!

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Glad to hear the company is pressing hard on their former employer for the scam he was running! If Sharon gets the money back, she will be lucky!

Monday I did get the quilt on at the long arm rental and I still need to do the binding. One of the challenges I will always face is that I like high constrast colors. I do NOT want my quilting to be the "feature" I want my blocks to be the star of the show. I prefer dark backings. I was told the front & back thread will show less if the tension is not prefer, so I end up with the quilting REALLY showing on the back and only on the dark areas of the front. I'll have to practice with 2 different threads so I can get happier with my results. The top is pretty, that is the best I can hope for right now! Baby steps and DONE is better than unfinished perfect, or at least that is what my perfectionist self is trying to tell myself, be gentle, get practice, you'll get better!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Just a small difference in the two tensions will get the result you want Pat. Make the front tension loose and test on a scrap until it suits you. My Bernina is made for embroidery and quilting. The bobbin case has a finger with a small hole. If you thread bobbin thread through the hole, it automatically tightens the bobbin just enough to keep it on the bottom.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Each of us prefer different look, a good portion of the time my bobbin thread is same colour as backing and I used see through on top, really shows the quilting but showcases the top design and blocks. You will get there Pat and yes, better to have a finished piece than a perfectly thought out quilt top in a box..remember the video I posted before about that, being too hard on ourselves?? I often watch it..

When John and Darlene did my toilet two weeks ago, John tweeted his back so I had construction type garbage bags, had him set it on front deck, you didn’t know what it was, thought to myself ‘how long will it stay there before it drives me crazy’

Greg said he would take it to garbage but gets home from work after dump is closed, weekends he is away, so this morning I decided it had to go..took a hammer and crow bar and smashed it into pieces that I was able to lift..

Drove to dump, there was a middle aged guy, younger likely than middle aged talker to someone who drove in with a dump truck full of trash, must have known each other, gabbed and gabbed, he could see me struggle, kept on grabbing, finally I said, could you help? In a bit was his answer..so I struggled and lifted the rest, said thank you, know your mom would be proud of you helping an elderly person’ grrrr
I must be getting cranky in my old age, no patience for stupidity and bad manners

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
Verona, ON

Well the much touted rain and T&L missed me too. It looks like it did rain a wee bit but not enough to do any good. I will still have to water.

Still hot and humid.AC is still on. I feel like 1 of those nasty vertigo attacks might be coming on so that is another reason I keep the AC on. The heat triggers these attacks.

With this heat it is perfect weather for all you sewers.I read what y'all write and it reminds me of the time I went to a dry goods store with Barb and Thea.. They were talking about fat quarters and other such lingo and my mind started to swim.

Had an appointment with the denturtist yesterday morning. The 5 teeth that are going to be pulled plus the 2 implants are happening Spet 5. So yesterday she did all the work to have the temporary bottom denture ready. She is excellent and I sure learned more from her about what will happen the day of the procedure then I did from the dentist. She will come to the dentist's office the day of the procedure to put the temp plate in.

I am very wary of males who come and offer to do a job for me. They
see a woman on her own and the $$$ signs start rolling through their eye balls. The first summer Warren died a fellow turned up who had done some work for 2 other widows on the lane. When he said "I heard you are a widow and might need a hand doing some things. my alarm went up. I did hire him for a couple of small things but just told him the money had run out and I wouldn't need him again ever. Steve had heard some not so good things about the guy so came and took the chain saws and table saw to his place. I am so glad Sharon was able to get some justice. Wonder how many other people the guy scammed ?

Stay safe, well and cool.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Same weather here Dianne, looks like all hell will break loose, so dark, wind is up, so far though )we have had a good soaking.

Although he called he did not show up with $$$$..guess you cant give what you don’t have..

So could go for a nap but perm at 4:30 so best wait and go to bed earlier..
