Central vac is a vacuum that has pvc pipes through the wall and a fixture or several in each room so you can connect vacuum hose to and neednotdrag the vacuum around..this is the only house I don't have it in..

Looks as though you are doing your homework Susan..

Can hear chainsaw next door, must check what is a happening. Lol

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Susan can you transfer your plants to large pots or buckets? That should hold them for a few weeks. Some nursery's have ones they give away as they are going to just discard them. I brought home a couple just the other day. I don't need to keep them but the price was right for my purpose.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

A central vacuum is one that's attached to the home like any other appliance, and you have hoses that you just plug into the wall without dragging the vacuum around.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_vacuum_cleaner
They took the main canister (with the motor), and threw it out. Then when I mentioned it in court, they got another one to replace it but it doesn't fit the dust catcher and can't be used.

Y'know how when you think something's a good idea and you pray to God to show you a sign to confirm it? I did, about the move, and I have a bunch of Earthly Angels who are helping us with every aspect of it!!! We're finding electricians, gardeners, packers, demolition team for the deck, den, and porch.......!
Some, we'll be able to pay from the City's "allowance" they'll give us for the demolition, and some are free (with the cost of feeding them, only) or barter. We have ladders & camping gear that we can give to our helpers. This is an active FB group, in Calgary. We may even have some help building our additions in Torrington, and maybe an electrician? We'd have to give them a ride there, of course - it's 1 hour drive - but boy oh boy........ Earthly Angels!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

When are you expecting to move Susan? Yep, know from experience there are definitely earthly Angels! I'm sure you've been in touch with municipality/city to confirm funds are available at this time..know from experience of working with one that month to month depending on the budget some things get slashed..

Omg I'm sneezing, Missy is sneezing, something in the air. Lol

Just finished the grass, looks nice..see some shrubs/flowers are blooming..one wild rose opened up, smell lovely as you come up the steps

Have to focus on weeds now, now now meaning tonight but soon 😜

Betty, you should not be cutting grass if you have allergies. What are the beautiful pink flowers?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

We would be able to move after the July 22nd County meeting to confirm we can move and do some building. We'd have to add additions to our base home, so it gets to 960 sq ft, so need a building permit, plus the $$ to apply to move our home there. They have never refused either, so the owners said that we could move July 23rd. As long as we can get the movers to move us, etc etc, etc. We have to get an electrician, and a Gas Fitter (for our natural gas heating). The plumbing can be assisted with, by the Park owner. Everything has to be organized.
We found someone to help with the garage sale on the 18th/19th of June, and with the demolition of the porch, den, deck, and berm in front.
Also found someone who would help with the digging up of the shrubs, etc. Need to find a way to store them so they don't die in the meantime. Can't put them in until the mobile gets moved in, and have to have them removed before the demolition....

Susan, can see you are all gung ho, here is hoping all goes to plan.

Oh Lindakay, not allergies, been coming down with a cold and Mittsy she is always sneezing, maybe she is allergic to me lol, great feeling having outdoor work done for the weekend..in bed already, playing a few computer games, watch t.v. then off to Layla land.

Kyle dropped in to make sure I am roadworthy for Sunday's Ride for the Cure run

Had a good day. Pain doctor gave me a refill hundred and 20 pain pills and I responded with Yahoo and he reduced to 90. He is a friend of the family and said that actually 90 would be enough I need more you give me more but was afraid somebody else might get into them, like Vern.

Susan looks like you've got a crew lined up. Here's sending you special angels to look up for you and Bob and get this moved done over with and That you guys can just live your happy life in your happy new place.

Betty I haven't learned the brace since the day I left the hospital which was about three months ago. Pain doctor said today he would be surprised if it didn't go bye-bye on my next visit which is two weeks from today. I get an x-ray on Monday to see how the screws and whatever they put back there are doing and the crushed up bones made into paste and see if it's now bone.

Happy birthday Karen, I made it under the wire before it's midnight your time.

Linda have a great trip to Corpus Christi, never been there and at this age I'll probably never be there.

Dianne, you have my prayers on your back. I wish I had some advice but do not. Even though I broke my back, all my pain right after I broke it and up until now is the nerve pain in the back of my legs. But it is getting better everyday.

I started using a cane today to the doctors office in the grocery store. Did fine at the doctors office, grocery store was a push. But I have workers coming tomorrow and I needed something to make sandwiches for them. And they are used to my great lunches.

Betty, good luck on the bike ride. Please be careful and have fun. I am with you on the workers for your garden. Sounds like a great idea and probably should be doing it now instead of next year.

Granddaughter and Vern just left to go for a ride in his "Z". A "Z" is a sports car which we are selling. He got in it okay, let's just hope he can get out of it.

Barb how is everything in your area. I am with Betty, get started on the companion for your iris, they will look beautiful on your wall. Besides the one not done will be sitting in the drawer calling your name until you take it out.

I am off to Facebook and answer a bunch of messages and I will talk to all tomorrow. Cool down tomorrow only going to be 100 degrees.

Hugs to you all, Sharon

Morning everyone,

Brrr 43 feels 41

Great to hear you are healing Sharon, still amazes me at what they can do these days...how does Vern feel about selling his Z? I can well imagine the lunches you make for the gardeners, you spoil them!

"M" I'm sure falling plays on Lorna's mind every day..glad she is able to use her old leg without. Pain..now WHEN she does get her new leg will they have to do anything to the stub so that if it's irritating she can revert from time to time using the old leg?

Been to Foodland, car wash and now sitting having a coffee and then out to work in the gardens...have to leave here around 2 for Barrie doc.
Was just dosing off last night when Greg came, he and Melanie are going with spiders to Newfoundland, pin July, told me all about their plans as he knows the girls and I are planning a trip east this summer vs USA trip because for medical insurance for SUZANNE re heart attack and I'm a little leary because of past months medical issues so he grabbed and gabbed, got me all excited..maybe I should start planning, end of July coming quickly and I would imagine lodgings at at a premium.

Darlene and John are dropping in this morning for a visit, think I should make muffins before I head outside

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone. It is a nice 75 degree's right now, but will be warm before I know it. Going to get a manicure and pedicure this morning, pick up a few things from wally world, and get ready for our trip Monday morning.

Glad they were able to fix her foot.

Time for a break, it's absolutely gorgeous out there

Been working, amazing how little 'to do's' amount to hours of work..I haven't touched the secret garden yet or the back fourth sitting area, big sigh..keep finding things

Can't wait for more of the flowers to bloom

In photo 3 the goats beard is growing so high and full that it is making a gateway to the back yard.

Morning everyone. Chilly here but the sun is shining.

The TH want to sleep as they were up all night responding to the coyotes. Then the 2 deer who have decided they live here moved to what I guess they think was a better spot and the side motion light came on. Needless to say I got very little sleep.

Not going to push myself today outside. My back is a bit better and I have lots to do outside so will baby it again today. Hard to believe a car accident almost 30 years ago can still rear its ugly head.

M I have both a heating pad and those moist heat thingys you put in the micro wave. Very comforting I must say. Had to use my cane last night to get around but that's fine. I am so glad to read that Lorna got her foot back on. It is a disgrace the way she has been handled.

Sharon you are doing so well. We are all very proud of you.

LK still free of hives ?

Need to move around a bit.

Dianne and her TH

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Boy, time flies huh?

Dianne, please do baby that back .. I find the hardest thing is putting down the dogs meals .. usually someone is here .. they get fed at 8:30am and about 4pm .. happy I have dishes that, if need be, I can lower using a reacher .. I try not to resort to that as I feel if done properly, bending slowly is a good way to stretch the muscles .. so glad you have a cane too .. just a bit of confidence when walking ..

Betty .. ya caught me LoL .. the first upside down pic I sat here and was trying to figure out what I was seeing .. then, I realized it was flipped .. wish I could flip them back ..
Hope your trip to Barrie is OK .. busy time of the week ..
Have friends visiting the east coast at present .. have sent along some fun pics ..
Your wise to stay in Canada re insurance ..

Had a note from my gardening friend in Corpus .. not rainy anymore, but be aware if you are going in the ocean .. it's not red tide, but something, I really don't understand ..

My Hosta bed, one of them, is KAPOW !!! Unreal .. DH put sheep manure in it .. holy man .. I will take a photo .. I swear it grows daily !!!

Had had a Bunny chewing at them in April, but, I think they don't like the HOOTY Owls I put in there :-)

Me and the battery operated trimmer, are ON IT today :-)
SO .. of I go

Back from town.
Dianne, I woke up with hives on the inside of my legs this morning, but they are gone now. I have no clue what is triggering them.
Betty, your gardens are beautiful! Wish I had some of your shade.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

LK .. does your doc/dermatologist think it could be 'hormonal' ?
At times in the later stages of menopause, or after it, the hormones can play havoc with your skin, making it dry, bruising .. rashes ... just a thought ..

Didn't get much trimming done .. sitting through thunder storm #2 .. poor Zoey is so scared .. and, she hides behind the toilet in the master bathroom .. makes me wonder if she wasn't once home alone during a bad storm ..

Waiting for anyone to come home, it's dark out !!!

~M~

Victoria Harbour, ON

Omg Lindakay, so it isn't hot dogs..did you change laundry detergent? Likely something simple.

"m" that storm is heading my way ..poor Zoey....feel sorry for all those vendors for the buttertart festival I'd we get that storm in the a.m.
About the photo's, not sure why some are ok and others not??

Home from Barrie, carrying a shoulder monitoring unit..Lordy. Had to manoeuvre through 3 pretty bad accidents..why oh why because it's a Friday and cottage country drive crazy..was going to do some shopping but said to heck with that..picked up supper, some batiques from lens mill and homeward bound.

Told not to shower or take bath re the equipment so going to walk around dirty I guess lol

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Nothing new. I have an appointment in two weeks for my allergy appointed.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Gotta tell ya, Betty - it's not only great to see you posting so much again, but you're sounding so much better. Really happy to "hear" you like this againl

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Summarily KICKED out of bed by 8 furry feet !!
Piper up on a pillow at the top by my head, and, Zoey tucked into my back .. it was get up or face the consequences of a cramp in my calf ..

Weekend drivers trying to get to the lakes, bizarre .. boats motors and trailers .. whizzing along ..

Going to DH cousins 60th wedding anniv party today at 1pm .. hoping the rain is done ... it's at a hall, so it's all good ..

Good luck with the monitor Betty .. when do you go to have it removed and read ?

Best get movin

Morning all

Rained all night, had booms/bangs but I mostly slept through all..this morning the arm band onthe blood pressure arm had moved, saw an error response, Drats hope I don't have to do this all over again. "m" they are closed on Monday so have to get unit back to them Tuesday morning then they read.

Susan, it is nice to start feeling like I'm back in the land of the living..

Well the sky is blue but it could still rain, hoping not..they say 10's of thousands attend the Buttertart Festival, how sad it would be for the vendors to have rain..lord willing they will be fine. Am hoping there are interesting craft vendors, always looking for new ideas...

I'm up and at it, just finished my coffee, will leave about 9:30 as the festival opens at 10:00 so that gives me an 1 1/2 to play in the craft room.

May you all have a sunshine day!!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

My head's in a spinning whirl, and some great, re: the move, and some is hurtful re: people in the Park here. More betrayal and hard feelings towards us, but I won't go into that.
Suffice to say that we'll be glad to move out and start a fresh chapter.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Why would they have turned against you Susan..you've not done them harm..

Just put fireplace on, light mist but Rita still went, had lunch out and just got home

Mind boggling that you couldn't move the entire Main Street of midland which encompasses 7 blocks, they aren't wrong when they say there ten thousand or so who make it out. (Even in the rain). The winners of best of 2015 butter tart had at least a 2 hr line up, not exaggerating..shaking my head..promised Dar's John I'd pick some up for him. 6-$10 so bought him a mixture and bought 12 then 6 for me..in the freezer they go.

There was a vendor that had metal art, not yet rusted..bought a 5' angel that holds a flower pot and the cutest metal hummingbird..just have to leave them in the garden over the winter and by spring they will match the others..

Think I will make a hot chocolate and have a nap, plum tired me out

Did you have one for me Betty.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

yummmmm butter tarts...... not in my near or distant future, unless you're talking Christmas. Still losing weight, and that's a good thing.

Betty - when people are angry (and the Park residents are, because of what the City is doing to the Park, closing it etc), they will jump on any reason to slam dunk someone vulnerable if they're told lies about someone. Our tenants have been Very vocal, and we have tried to take the Christian route and "if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all". It's tough to take, but take it we will. Now we know who our true friends are - they've been asking us how we are and the others aren't - so we can move forward from there. Once we're out of the Park, I'm leaving the FB group. Until then, morbid curiosity is keeping me there.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

What a great day !
The 60th Anniv was a roaring success, the cap of it all being a pic of the COMPLETE wedding party from the wedding ..
LOTS of relatives on DH side, and, he has gone back this evening to visit more.

Betty, wow, people do so like their butter tarts :-)
Enjoy your purchases ..

Heading for bed soon .. LOooooooooooooooooong day and tomorrow is going to be as long

Morning everyone.

Sounds like you all had a great time.

Well, my hives are back with a vengeance this morning. We have been racking our brains trying to figure out whats causing it, with no luck at all.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

LK .. can you see the allergist, or call, before your apt ?
Am still wondering if it isn't 'hormonal' ..
Feel bad for you, it's not nice to be uncomfortable from the itching !

~M~

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I have to see my family physician to get a referral to any type of specialist. My family doc does the allergy testing, so maybe I can get referred to someone else? I am going go and take a cool shower, it helps take the burning out of the bigger hives.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

LindaKay, that's terrible..are you going to still go on your birthday vacation?

"m" a blessing to be be married that long..glad you enjoyed the gathering.

Lordy we've got high winds, sun is out but cool..great day for a bike ride..Kyke has been here picking up tables, going to be a long day for him. Having my second cup of coffee, should have a butter tart full of sugar to give me energy for my ride. I got $200 worth of pledges so not bad for someone who doesn't get out a lot. Lol

Mom came last night, staying till Tuesday, might work out, she can drop off the high blood pressure monitor to the heart and stroke office in Barrie for me.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good luck on your bike ride.
Yes, come hell or high water I am going to the beach. Maybe the salt water will be good for it.

Jeezzz Louise, that looks uncomfortable..here is hoping salt water works..will you be able to get meds before leaving?

Did the entire run 10 miles, got back to starting line where Greg was cooking pizza's, couple of people ran to congratulate me, I tried to put brakes on, tried to get off, foot hot caught in peddle..there I lay trying to make sure no broken bones, nope..landed somehow on my knees, braced myself with palme of my hand, I will be sore tomorrow along with sporting some blue/purple. But enjoyed the day, not end of the world.

Mom wanted to take me to Henry for fish dinner last night, said I was tired from the butter tart festival but promised to go out tonight...oooops don't think so

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I got refills on my meds.

Oh Betty. Sorry to hear you fell.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

10 miles on a bike is pretty impressive Betty, I'd be hard pressed to make a mile I'm sure.
Sorry to hear you fell, hope you're not too stiff tomorrow ..

Linda, as I had mentioned the other day, a friend from Corpus was saying to check before going in the ocean ..not sure if it was a red tide algae bloom or not ..

Lilly had a good post op check up .. we are to start brushing her teeth .. ya right !
Took her to the Dairy Queen, and, were treated to just a beautiful sight .. Canada Geese with their 28 Goslings !!! there is a river and parkway behind the DQ ..
Pics are next :-)
