What an awful way to end a great day! Ice and Tylenol pronto. DD is a competitive cyclist. Everytime I hear about a cycling accident I'm anxious. The one this past week was horrible. She is currently training for an "ultra" and rode from Atlanta to Alabama and back on Thursday...120 miles.
Happy B'day, LK.! Lose those hives ASAP!
My garden is mostly up and running. The heat is driving me inside by late morning. We've got a number of people inquiring and committing to cottage stays in July and August. I've decided to revamp one of the upstairs bedrooms which has gone from vintage to tired, drab and dated in my eyes. After gardening, I took apart the bedroom and moved furniture. Time to start painting.
Sharing a few garden pics...

Thanks for the info on the water. I will definitely check it out before we put our toes in.
Birthday is tomorrow, but thanks for the birthday wishes. I soaked in a warm Epsom salt bath and feel a bit better.
I love those little goslings are so precious.
Happy Birthday, LK
Sorry about the itching - would Epsom salt bath help?
Betty - ouch! Glad it's not bad - and oh boy, to be able to bike so far!! Good for you
:-D
OFFICIAL.. Happy birthday to LK :-)
Safe travels, and, have FUN !!!
~M~
Thanks "M"!
We will be leaving in about 3 hours.
Safe travels, hope the itchys stay away.
Here's hoping this birthday day is filled with sunshine and beach time with no itching..
Moving around today without much pain, got to love the shades of blue and purple Knesset have turned..
Darlene gave me an older sewing machine, know of a woman who doesn't have one, can't afford one so I will spend the morning seeing if I can get it working and if so will give it to her!
Happy Birthday, LK!!
Happy Birthday, LK! I hope you have a wonderful trip!
Good morning ..
Guess LK is enjoying her time away ..
Pretty much quiet in here .. I have things going on that HAVE to be accomplished by Thursday as I'll pretty much be 'out of commission' . I have my arthritis hot (a biologic) on Wednesday, and, I am kinda ill for a couple of days ..
Best get moving, hope everyone is doing well ..

How are the hives now LK? Hope they stay calm for you for your vacation....
Quiet here too "M". I have been working on a new quilt and started another X stitch pattern for nights in front of the TV. The temps are still chilly here - in the 60s- and at least the sun is shining today. It has been dismal for nearly a week.
Must get my breathing machine done. Have a great day everyone....
Hives are doing good. Thanks.
Good day for quiet. Amelia had her eye surgery yesterday, aside from a bit of crabbiness...to be expected...it all went well. Hoping her eyes will now stay where they belong and not wander all over. My bruising is nearly gone, I no longer look half asleep. Think a bit of sewing is in order for today. Still not very warm here, just don't think the maters are going to be very successful this year. They are sitting static and not growing at all.
Afternoon all
Bit of a lazy on
Mom left for home, Kyle visited and now it's lunch..
Sil Charlene called, they are having a moving sale on the weekend, has a few garden pieces so might take a run to hills dale and check things out NOT that I need anything, wo knows, going for supper tomorrow night in Barrie to discuss out ROADTRIP 2016, pass right by his house..may do both and save myself a trip tonight.
Think we are all having same kind of weather, sun is out this morning but still cold
Now Lindakay, she gets to enjoy the ocean while soaking in the sun...how lucky can one be
Barb what pattern are you making the quilt?
Glad all went well with Amelia Karen..glas you are no longer sporting blue and purple around your eyes..
Glad to hear her surgery went well.
Temp here is 90, but the humidity is high. Heat index is 103. We have applied sun lot several times.
Don't come home burnt..glad you've got great weather
Afternoon everyone !!!
Beautiful day here - great breeze and a nice heat.
Last night ML (my neighbour who sold her house) and I were driving back from Ktown and just as we got to a small hill near her house an ironwood tree came down across the lane. It was too big to move. So I had to go and get Jim another neighbour to help us out. We had a really weird storm for about 20 min where the wind was just awful and the rain was falling sideways. I think that is what brought the tree down on the lane.
Very upset here - the raccoons got into the turtle eggs. The raccoons moved the wire mesh I had put down plus the wood structure. About 20 eggs were eaten up.
Karen I am so glad Amelia's surgery went well.

Awww sorry about the turtle eggs. Rough sometimes when nature takes it's course.
You must be devastated Dianne, you've put so much into keeping them safe then this..Lordy those raccoons can get into anything! We had similar storm on Saturday night..don't remember ever having that much rain.
Just called my brother Bernie to say I'd pass on the fountain and water feature unit...here I am making things easier by getting rid of a pond, letting a few gardens go wild, sure don't need to start adding again right?
Awwwww ..poor wee Amelia, am glad the surgery is over, and, I hope she gets good results :-)
Dianne, glad you weren't hit by the tree!! As for the turtles, breaks my heart as they try so hard to do their job well .. dang Racoons ..
We have/had a baby Crow down in the tall grass, saw it when I walked Lorna out this morning .. the parents were watching, but I just don't know how it'll fly .. we're watching too .. nature can make ya sad sometimes ..
Way too busy a day ... I am wearing down ..
Picking up my 'bike' tomorrow :-)
One of my Hospice clients knows I want a bike (OLD) to hang planters from .. well, be darned if she didn't find me one in her brothers barn !!
BBL ..
~M~
Happy to read you and Amelia are healing Karen. Maybe now you can all relax.
Sorry about your turtles Dianne. I know how you try so hard to help them.
Not much new here. Going to lunch on the weekend with my brothers and a nephew on from Illinois. Or is it Indiana? I can never remember. It will be fun. We try to do it at least once or twice a year. And next weekend all my old neighbors from Manchester are coming up for a cookout. It will be fun to see them all again...
Great news 'M' on the bike, will you paint it a pretty color or leave as is?
Mother Nature is indeed hard to take..Missy was out and away all day, was just going to give up on her and home she came about 1/2 hr...never know what's in the forest looking for a feast.
Barb, you've one busy schedule, nice to see you get to be busy while meeting up with family and friends..will Norm do the bbq'ing??
Seems my schedule is filling up as well, tomorrow it's supper in Barrie with Linda,Suzanne and Linda, Darlene called today, picking me up Saturday night to go to Barrie buffet/horse races, then invited Sunday to my brother Mike's.
Mike and his wife Kim just dropped in for a visit..he turned 60 and wanted to show me his birthday present..what a beauty he's driving..top 2016 spider..love the color..talk about spoils.
So sorry to hear about the turtles. Post pictures of your bike when you can.
Enjoy your weekend Barb.
Just popping in to say Hi
Take care everyone, and keep bumps, bruises, Dr visits and everything else causing illness to nada!
Glad to hear about crafting ladies again!
All's status quo around here - nothing to report yet about move to Torrington, other than it looks like Aug 15th is earliest.
Rainy morning, but, Lorna will still go into work ..
The Spyders are becoming quite popular .. I'm a bit too nervous to try one .. the way folks drive I want to be inside a 'structure' :-)
Nice bike tho ..
Nervous about my 'shot' today, not looking forward to the aftermath tomorrow .. at least I get to stay in bed !
Once I actually have the bike, I will decide as to whether I paint it (pink) or not ..
Will post pics ..

My Drs. office has 12 Drs. and I'm still told go to urgent care, we can't fit you in. Puleeze!!
Same here. It take forever to get an appointment.
We are back home, and I had such a wonderful time. Beautiful weather and sunsets/sunrises, and I loved getting my toes in the sand. A sea hare/slug, and young sting ray and the sunrise this morning. And a type of morning glory that grows in the sand on the beach.
Oh Linda, so nice to hear you had a great time .. the pics are great .. the sand looks very inviting ..
Shot done, AND .. the nurses at the clinic take my BP .. and, it has been consistently HIGH .. so .. waiting on a call from my doc to see about being put on a BP med ..
Lorna stayed home today as it was just pouring, we've had over an inch of rain .. and, cool .. WL say tomorrow will be high 80s ??
May BBL
~M~
That's not great, having to wait so long for a Dr app't!
Glad to hear you had such a great time, LK, and those pictures are really great! I've never seen a sea hare/slug before - looks like the horseshoe crab shell we have (only without a shell! Not sure if that's clear lol)
Marilynne - sorry to hear about your BP issues. Hope it resolves quickly.
How's Lorna doing - anything more on her prosthetic?
Hope the WL really do come across with 80's - that would be nice :D
Looks like we'll be moving August 15th - it's the 2 week waiting period for the Country, and I've called the Mobile haulers and set that date. We have people who will disconnect then reconnect the plumbing/gas and the electrical from old location to new location, so that's good.
Ducks are getting into their proper rows!!
Keeping you and Bob in my prayers Susan that all will go well.
Love the photos LK So glad you had a good time.
Get some rest now from your shot "M". Hope the BP thing is just a blip...
Sounds like Betty is getting things ready for her trip. I am glad they are staying in Canada this year with all the medical issues that have taken place. They need to know they are covered by insurance. The eastern provinces are beautiful.
Hope your back is better Dianne. How are things up your way?
Off to do my breathing machine. Have a great night.....
Things are going to go well, Barb - I have faith that it will.
It's going to be a Grand Adventure.
Have fun "breathing", Barb lol
Oh yes, nebulizer machines are so much fun but I wouldn't be able to do all I can without it every day. It opens the airways for me and allows me to stay pretty much independent. Three hours plus a day is a small price to pay....
then I'm REALLY glad you have the nebulizer, Barb - as you said, it's a small price to play.
Our new landlord says there's a job going "wanting" that Bob could likely get - an Ice Man, for skating & curling ice. He said that they would get him a course to take so he'd know what to do, and would pay about $6k / month.
Also, there's a place that has "stray" mobile homes, and we could likely get some siding for our home. All of it would have to be sided - including the new additions.
This would be great, to get siding at a discount
Good luck to Bob on that job.
Afternoon all,
Lordy had our meeting last night, had to revamp a bit putting in one extra day, finalized hotels, entertainment, boat tours and ship bookings so DONE, just have to wait until July 28th..not that far away.
Susan looks like I'm not the only one getting organized, look at you girl, even a job for Bob..wow $6k a month, how great that would be
Barb, you are doing fantastic, can hear in your posts you are loving being where you now live.
Lindakay, you are relaxed, great holiday
"m" how are you feeling after your shot?
Still in my jammies, guess at this point of the day no need to get dressed?
The job for Bob would only be Oct to April, but that's a great idea - hope it comes to pass.
Here's hoping
Prayers for those who were stabbed in the mall in Calgary..such a pity things like this occur
