FUMING!!!!!!!!!!
The prosthetist ordered the wrong size liner to go into the prosthetic leg ..
So .. Lorna lost pay, and, has no new leg ..
PLUS .. I am getting ready to go to the cemetery and help her cover all her beds as there is a FROST risk tonight ..
It has been A day ~~~~~~~~~~
~M~
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?chat with friends old/new
Oh no. Isn't there some form of proper procedure to follow to file a complaint?
Sounding like he is not very competent. Has she made him aware, he could cost her a job?
Omg,what can one say, like to shake him big time.,how discouraging it that..big sigh..so now when does he say the proper liner will arrive?
Just can't believe it..
Just home from a horrific task .. Gord and I and Lorna running around a HUGE cemetery trying to cover flower beds in 30mph winds and, intermittent rain showers.. with flimsy plastic ... all I can say 'we tried' .. if indeed we do get frost, here's hoping any angels inhabiting the cemetery will lend her a hand because, right now she is feeling pretty low ..
She told Kerry to keep the leg until she is finished work .. she simply will not lose time because of his errors.
So ladies .. before you lay your incredibly lovely heads on your pillows tonight, or after .. could you offer up a platitude asking for NO FROST in Thunder Bay, especially at Sunset Memorial Gardens ..it would be appreciated to the max ..
Early morning tomorrow. 2 dogs to the groomer .. and Thursday we have an 8am apt with the eye doc, and, a 10am one with our GP
Friday can't come fast enough ..
AS always, thank you for all your kindnesses
~M~
My prayers continue "M"...
Sending lots of prayers.
~M~ Prayers said and will continue to be said
ahem......... you are NOT going to believe this... BUT........ we're considering moving our entire mobile to a Park out of the city, to one that has been around since 1979, and has 28 total spots. Right now, of those 28, there are 7 open.
Might move the mobile before the end of July......
It's rural, 1 hour NE of Calgary, and the property is 43 x 150! Our mobile is 14 x 50 w/o the additions, but we'd have to have additions to meet the requirements of 960 sq ft. Currently it's got additions, but would be expensive to move so would build on after moving and let the City demolish the additions. The porch isn't worth anything, and the den could sure use a re-vamp.
The Park requires you to have 26 ft frontage (hooray - currently our homes are right at the street, no frontage at all) and there's a garden dug at the back. We'd have room to add a den & porch, put our RV on it and 2 sheds - I would actually just put one shed at the back and fight with Bob over whose it is
The rent is $200 less than what we pay here, PLUS I wouldn't have the Drama (capital D, for sure) that we're finding here.
There's a lot of logistics we'd have to figure out - Gas fitter, Electrician, and cost of the permits for building, etc.
I'd have to change churches because there's no way we would travel an hour each way.
The property and Park are very pretty, it's quiet, AND (plus, plus) our former tenants wouldn't know where we are, so I'd feel much safer........ We'd only tell our nearest and dearest friends & family where we are. We'd start over.
btw - not running away, just wanting a fresh start. Neither of us are working, so that's not an issue, and I can travel to Calgary to see my Dr. Also not an issue.
It just "feels" right....... :whistling:
I trust my heart, and I do believe the Lord wants us to be happy and feel safe again. We were given the information by one of our neighbours.
Think it over carefully Susan, don't rush into anything until you've checked it all out. Talk to several residents there to get the real scoop on living there.
I did not want to move from here in the first place - everything screamed out "NO!" but Bob wanted to.
When I trust my instincts, they are usually right. I have already told Bob that he's the dreamer and he does not think things through. I'm already sick of the drama here and I know this is colouring part of my wish to move but also - this Park IS closing in 1 1/2 years. I know that anything that seems too good to be true usually is. However, I threw off my rosy coloured glasses a long time ago. When I have problems it's usually because I go with Bob's wishes. He knows better now.
I will make sure I dot all my i's and cross all my t's. One of the other residents here is also moving to the same Park. I'm going to contact them as well.
I'm checking all the costs and these prop mgrs are giving us all the facts - in fact there are more facts than we thought there would be. F'instance - we need to have fire-proof gyprock around the furnace (ours doesn't) to meet their code, we have to have add-ons to meet their size requirements (ours is 700 sq w/o add-ons), and he's given us all the added costs.
I'll have to go through the City to find out how quickly they present a cheque for the buy-out of us leaving the Park. I checked with our internet provider and it would be hugely more expensive to go through them for internet, but they suggested a local provider.
The biggest thing as per the owners of this Park is that we would be ok living in a small community. I've done so before and I'm good with it, as is Bob. We don't need the nightlife as we did when we were younger. The "big city" nearest to us would be 20 min away, and they have restaurants etc, that this hamlet doesn't.
Yup, I'm being the cautious one, as always. They just seem like decent people. I know, I know - so did our tenants, but this not only totally different, but I've gained a new appreciation for people who "seem" good, and are really terrible. I don't trust as easily.
I just know that this Park will be closing and if we find a good place to move to, we need to do it. There is so much negativity in this current Park, it's unbelievable.
Some of the parks here will move your house into their park for free.
This one won't - however, the City of Calgary will pay for the move out. "up to" $5k.
They pay the company directly, so if it costs $3k, you don't see any of that $$
Also, they will pay "up to" $5k to clean the property of gas, water, and electric lines and they pay the company who does it, directly.
Morning ..
It's 38F at 6am .. no frost to ground here .. fingers crossed !
Furnace is on though ..
Susan .. better you than me in these transitions .. I would simply cave .. I sorta just like life to be on an even keel.
All the best to you and Bob.

Morning all,
Hated to get out of bed..felt like a winter morning..sun is out but calling for more rain.."M" no frost here either, great news for Lorna. Think I'd still be in bed had LINDA not texted me to ask if I wanted timmies coffee/muffin..
"M" with all Lorna has gone through he should open his office after hours for her, I'd insist he at least do that, his fault
Susan, I'm with the others, perhaps you should give it a bit of time, adjust..give it at least 6 months..get some of park requirements done in the meantime ready for a move..seems much too early after so much stress to take on another adventure..remember, the next move will likely be the last one.
Ohh LINDA is here, it's a day of making coasters for her, me, who knows
Susan, have you thought of buying your own land? It might be cheaper in the long run.
As promised.....
Finally finished my X stitch Irises. The piece is 15" wide and 22" tall. SIL is making me a shadow box for it.....
Pattern and where I was when it got put away.
Almost done
Finished...
Just needs a light wash and block ....
I have another that is a companion to this one but I'm not in a hurry to start it!!!! LOL
That is beautiful!
Totally awesome Barb .. just love the colours .. beautiful pieces, makes me want to start Xstitching again ..
Dogs, Lilly & Piper, look so WHITE and neat and tidy .. course, we stopped by the cemetery to see Lorna, DH took the dogs for a wee walk, and, Miss Lilly ROLLED in the fresh cut grass !!! I used to scold her, but, what the heck, she's a dog !
Zoey had been home alone and was so happy to see us .. now they are all out running around, helping DH plant the lovely Hibiscus her bought .. has peachcoloured blooms ..
I take it you are the coaster creator Betty :-)
Trying to pretend it's summer, put shorts on and, after dinner am planning on trimming .. it's about 65F here .. but so sunny ..
Dianne, how are you doing ?
Best get a move on
~M~
It's 48 with a feel of 39 brrr
Been sneezing like crazy, hope no cold in the future..
"m" I lead LINDA through the sewing process, she made 5 sets of 4 wine coasters and 4 neck coolants..
I worked on the glass window frame for one of the draw items for kyles ride for the cure. Kyle dropped in for an hour so that put us a little behind...all and all. We got our projects done and Linda left for home (Barrie).
Barb, your iris is spectacular, love the deep purple.cant imagine how many hours it took, now to start its match, wow
Think I'm going to get a blankie, cuddle up on the chesterfield and have a nap
Linda Kay - thought of buying land - simply can't afford it. If it's already serviced, it's expensive. If it's not serviced, it costs an arm & a leg to Get it serviced. And so many places are not zoned for mobile homes.
We did look into it, believe me...... We have been, for 2 years.
Thing is, I've had more of this on my mind, mulling it over, since we first heard about the Park being closed four years ago. I just haven't talked about everything that I've had in my wee head.
I do trust my instincts and they are saying to me "This is the time to move before the next big rush of people when the Park closes and there are no spots available - the time is right"
Barb, your Irish is absolutely beautiful. I have one that a friend did for me probably 15 years ago. Iris is still my favorite flower I guess because of my mothers favorite flower.
Betty glad you're feeling better that You really do not know how to rest or take it easy. But neither do I except I just can't do it. But I did been from the Walker to a cane today and that is making progress. I see the back surgeon in two weeks and then we'll see about brace.
Marilyn, so sorry about the freezes coming Lorna's flowerbeds. How did they do? Probably better than mine in and 107°. but I did take a short walk up the landscape today and everything looked okay. That is amazing how mulch will keep everything cool especially the roots.
Karen, so glad you had a nice visit with your grandchildren. Fresh strawberries are the best and we are getting lots of fresh strawberries from California that are like sugar melting in your mouth.
Linda, sure hope those hives are going away. I have only had them a few times and it was always caused by medicine I took. Sure hope they find the cause.
Betty, you are so lucky to have so many friends. I also wonder about your neighbor cleaning up his mess.
Susan, you are right about not waiting till the last second to move to the park now has openings but you should sit back and watch for a few months. But I am with you on the current Park. No reason to stay there, no love lost.
I have to go because I need to help get Mr. Winter get in bed. Hugs Sharon
Good morning ..
Looks like it'll be a nice day weather wise .. maybe 70F ..
Of n running here .. gotta love early morning appts .. so much to look after before you hit the road ..

Morning everyone.
Glad to hear you are getting around better Sharon. Don't over do it.
No hives this morning, lets pray they stay gone. We are going to Corpus Christie for my Birthday Monday and Tuesday, and I don't want to be itching!
Morning all...
Ohh singing the happy birthday song Karen (off key f course) but doing my best..can you hear me? Nhooe you have a wonderful sunshine day.
Sharon, you've got my mouth watering, sweet strawberries, wouldn't I love to have some for breakfast..you have come a long way, likely because you've been listening to doc's and your body..here is hoping you move on to the brace on your next visit..would it mean wearing brace all day? No, neighbors did nothing but move the mess from one location in the yard to another, must call the municipality, not fretting as much because once the trees are in leaves I can't really see next door.
Lucky you Lindakay, I loved Corpus Christi ..what a great birthday gift. Don't be going to a beach vendor and having a hot dog...
Susan, best of luck with your plans
Imagine, just got up, getting lazier by the day..might as well rest as this weekend I'll be busy, nfriday Barrie for 24 hour monitor, Saturday the buttertart festival/craft show,Sunday Kyle's Bike a thin ride for the cure so need energy.
Finally a day they aren't calling for rain..a must for cutting grass and doing the trimming...bought some metal spray for gazebo patio set, although new some of the table paint has flaked off, will try to touch it up, although the not the same color might have to add some to the settee and chairs to make it blend, that ought not take more than 10 minutes or so..until the day warms up I'll take my coffee downstairs and finish of the PEI block...that ought to put in Thursday.
Enjoy your day everyone.
Susan, I sure hope I didn't upset you the other day. We all really care and worry about you. I know you've mentioned the park you are in will close soon and I'm sure this has been constantly on your mind. You've had to fight so hard to get your home back and still have to consider another move. This time though, you get to take it with you.
No, no hot dogs for this lady.
Happy Birthday Karen !
Well I have done something to my back again and it is certainly letting me know. Hurts when I lay down, hurts when I sit and the only little bit of relief I can get is when I walk. Of course that means the TH is right on my heels as I pace around the house. The uneven ground outside makes it hurt even more. Started meds yesterday so hope it will kick in soon. Hot showers help too. And yes the TH gets right in there with me.
LK I sure hope the hives stay away now.
Oh M I always ask for the earliest appointment that is open. I figure the doc can't be that far behind like they usually are by 2pm. When Warren was going into the Cancer Center he could always get the 8 am time. Apparently many did not want to come in early.
Betty it is sunny here but very chilly. Hope you can get everything on your list done. But remember here on DG we all worry and care about you so don't go overboard with the physical tasks..
How did Lorna's flowers make out M ? I brought my hanging baskets in just in case.
Barb I love the Irises - gorgeous colour.
Dianne and her TH
Thank you Dianne.
Sorry to hear your back is bothering you Dianne. Maybe time to make a Dr. appointment and have it checked out?
Sorry to hear about your back Dianne, you have been doing mega outdoor work so not a surprise you are hurting..imagine the miles you travel indoors..you should almost me caught up? Know much is ongoing but it's the spring to do's that get to us.
should be more community handy men..Ann, Rita and I were saying we should for 12 weeks out of the year, like now, hire someone with fair pay and divide the week into 3 ie 12 hrs each who will do what we can't do..hmmm perhaps next year.
Having same weather Dianne, 58 right now, feels cooler with the wind but nice to catch up on a few outdoor chores..got the stained glass bench scrubbed, couple of Windows cleaned, gazebo table spray painted..grass is still wet , still a few hours before I can cut so tempted to bring 12 chairs/ table from back fourth and get them washed..never used,, not sure why I have them but I do
Been in the couch door 1/2 hr, know if I am here much longer this is where I will stay
Give me a push off won't you?
Must get my camera out and take a few photo's..mostly greens right now
Gently nudging you off the sofa. :)
oh Karen - of Course you didn't upset me the other day! I'm upset at all the various sabotages "they" left and am ready to move on. I get a little frustrated with all we've been going through, but this feels "RIGHT" and is the right time.
I will miss our church, but nothing for it but to do what's right for us. There is a church of our denomination in Olds, which is 20 min away. Only 2 churches in Torrington, and one's a Lutheran. I'll see what works for us :-) I am "United" - born & raised, but have been to a Lutheran church and they're pretty similar. Don't know if they have all the Dinners that the United church has!!!! Roflmao!!!
Happy Birthday Karen, hope it's a banner day for you ..
ALL good news for DH .. both eye and physical.
BUT >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Lorna's FOOT broke off!!!!
I am fuming here .. Kerry has been intimating she needs a new one for about 2 years .. but, he always seems to forget !! It's her original foot, so, it's 6 years old ..happily, one of the young fellas who works with him, was able to put another one on as Kerry wasn't in .. poor Lorna, she is such a proud and independent woman ... her boss ( a sweetie) helped her into her truck .. and, when she got to the office in the city, one of the fellas met her with a wheelchair .. hard to imagine how awful she must have felt with no foot or stability ..
We were in town anyway but, she was fine .. just pretty angry with all that is happening with the prosthetic ..
Owowowo .. Dianne .. jeeze .. does heat (heating pad) give you any relief?
Quite the situation having a bad back, and, I think we have all been there .. I have arthritis in my lower back, sometimes nothing takes the pain away ..
LK .. have a wonderful time in Corpus ..beautiful area, specially the beach ..
Sharon, walk slowly, and, watch where you walk ..
Betty .. I love the handyman suggestion .. we could use some help here .. we have 4 acres cleared, and just lots of bits and bats to do ..that .. never get done ?
Best get dinner on
BBL
~M~
OH NO! I think I would have gone straight to the prosthetic office and demanded for her new one to be fixed, now!
To use Betty's phrase...Drats & double drats for Lorna. Think I'd take that leg & beat a certain person with it.
Hard to believe those needing special care get such treatment..I would be doing a write up in paper..
Susan you and Bob so deserve a stress free life. Hoping you can accomplish your move relatively easily.
Maybe you can "audition" the different church dinners. LOL
lol Karen
I just spoke to our lawyer (the one who gives free legal advice on the phone, as we joined Legal Shield - wonderful company).
He's making a Demand Letter for us, and will send it to us before he sends it to THEM.
Imagine - we caught them, in January, having disposed of our central vac. Mentioned it in court and she said "how could that be, I just cleaned the other day". Well, the replacement does not fit, so we're claiming that too.
Anyway, a demand letter for damages and the past due rent from a lawyer should get something done, I would hope.
Really looking forward to moving from the Park here. Had a friend researching the area, and where the sewage lagoon was (so we wouldn't be getting the aroma lol). It's quite a ways from the new Park, so that's good, and it's such a pretty little area, and the whole Park is flat land. That's one of my main requirements.
I can bring the shrubbery I have here - my 6 cottoneasters, 2 Mock Oranges, my Saskatoon bush, and hopefully the Honeysuckle........ the land here is going to be totally stripped anyway, so I may as well salvage what I can. Not sure how the Saskatoon or Honeysuckle will manage as all of them would have to get removed at least a week between the demo of stuff and moving to the new Park, but I've been googling the best way to remove them in the heat of summer, and over-holding them until they find their forever home.
What is central vac Susan?
Sending you lots of good thoughts and prayers for your new move to go smoothly.
