Best/Worse/What did I learn today?chat with friends old/new

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

M, I hope Brooklyn is OK. Maybe her accident will wake someone up. Kudos to Lorna.

Dianne, so sorry your neighbor has to deal with a hysterical DIL. So childish.

Linda, sounds like you are doing better. Are you having a heat wave like we are? Our saving grace is we have very low humidity. My hardy hibiscus are already blooming. They usually do not bloom until late July.

Betty, I loved the photo of you and your grandson. You need to frame that front page and the article. Only way I would make the front page in Las Vegas is kill the mayor. And I am with you, stick shift in the mountains would not be fun.

Susan, your old tenants are nut jobs. Glad your garage sale went well.

Karen, sounds like a fun time. So special for you and your family that branches of the family farther from the family tree trunk are still extra special for you and your family. That says a lot about your family.

Deb you and your pups were on my mind all weekend. It was so hot the TH would rather lay over the floor vents as I had the AC on. Congratulations all ways round.for the win.

M any news on your granddaughter ? Skeeters wicked your way ? Or am I being the only one who can't sit out after 8:30 ? I have a structure and netting that I put up on our dock so I can commune with the loons. Of course it is in the shed that my friend Frank has stored all of his stuff. I think he and Deb are back right around July .. they are the ones who are teaching in Shanghai .

Betty I am glad Jeff caught you sitting down. I imagine he would have a fit if you were working in the yard. Watch you don't run into the ferry that carries you off to PEI. That just brings a smile to my face ... my first FIL actually did run into the ferry.

Karen how are you feeling? Amelia feeling better ?

LK do they want to replace the knee with a hemi or a full knee? From experience I would push for the whole knee to be replaced. Initially I had a hemi in my right knee. Didn't help actually was worse than before the replacement. Ended up having the full replacement put in. Not trying to scare you but 2 weeks after the full replacement I had to have that replaced as a part broke. My right knee looks like a road map.

Oh Susan I am so happy for you that things are going well for you and Bob.

Make sure you are doing something nice for yourself today ladies.

As always, love the pics :-)
COngrats on the win Deb, and, good luck with the Lyme dilemma ..

Dianne .. feel for Meryl, very emotional time for her .. are the 'kids' here, or the first wifes?

STANDARD TRANS and me, a real no no .. have done it, but only because I HAD to .. NFLD is hilly in spots, and, curvy ..

Murray called last night and spoke with Gordon .. Brooklyn was home, all is well, and her car is (maybe) a write off .. she has had it 6 weeks !
I HATE to say 'karma', but, I just did .. am just happy she wasn't injured severely .. it'll be something she won't forget, and, IF she was texting, she just learned her lesson ..

Picking up the bike today .. groceries first .. sure hope I start feeling better ! My neck is driving me BUGS !!!!!!!!!!!!

PS .. Lorna waters via a drum/pump deal that she pulls behind her truck ..

Morning everyone.

I will eventually have to have another full knee replacement. I had one 10 years ago, and it was never right from the beginning. It is lose, and clunks when I walk. Probably what caused the hip to go wonky? But I will put that off till I have too.
Skeeters are terrible here. Our humidity stays about 50%, and with the 100+ temps, makes it feel about 15 degrees warmer. No ones goes out in this heat. We all water first thing in the morning, and late at night.

We will be heading back north this morning. This was a wonderful week-end. When our oldest son married Diane, it was a perfect family blending. All of them and all of us just meshed from the get-go. It's hard to tell where hers starts and ours ends. Wedding was her nephew but we've watched him grow up. Yesterday the rest of our kids and most of her family came here to youngest daughters house bringing tons of wedding left overs. We had a feast and more fun.

~M~ here's hoping that Brooklyn is doing better - prayers being said for her
Deb - how wonderful - a WIN!
Dianne - That TH of yours sure knows where to rest, eh? I'll just BET they enjoyed it, but oh geeze!
Betty - whenever I've gone into Michael's having forgotten a coupon, they give me the discount anyway - just have to say I get them in email, and they honour the best one. btw - did you know that, in Canada, they have a 10% discount for anyone over 55? I discovered that the other day - printed it out and it's an everyday, everything (reg or sale price) with some items that are not included such as CD/DVD, classes, gift cards, shipping/delivery/installation, events (birthday parties),sewing machines, clearance, books/magazines, 4' or taller Christmas trees, Rainbow Loom products, "As seen on TV", Silhouette/Circuit brands, custom order products, or online purchases.
