More than enough for everyone..starting to rain, had hot bath and now a crossword puzzle and put my feet up..

You better?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Overall, yes - no one living above us and banging around, and we can come & go as we like. The Park FB site won't let us on it - says we bring too much drama. They've allowed Carolyn to stay though. THEY no longer live here, but the Owners/Residents can't go on?!?!?!
When we were on the site, we Never spoke out against anyone. I left the site, and they booted Bob off in Nov. THEY bring drama. The one person I'm talking to said that the members of the site don't want drama. As I said, we never said anything about our tenants, other than to say "welcome the new residents" when they moved here. Any drama has been posted by THEM, not us.

Susan, been keeping up with this thread waiting for you to get your home back. So sorry they did so much damage to your things. Some people have the devil in them.
Sending prayers for you and you DH.

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Thanks for the birthday wishes! Went to a dog show, Klaus was Winners Dog for another point, and his daddy, Tyler was Select dog for a point toward his Grand Champion title, plus we were Best of Breed Owner Handled, and won 4th place and $10 in the Owner Handled Hound Group. Great day, my hip/leg is sore from the hamstring injury, but well worth it with the wins today!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Congratulations Bev!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Congratulations, Bev, and Happy Birthday!

Thank you, Liz - it's been a long haul, but we're home and we have some good neighbours that we truly appreciate.
We have a general contractor coming by tomorrow, between 10 & 11 to see what he can do.
Darn - wouldn't you just know it - my pink eye is back!

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Vern ate breakfast this morning and stay down about 30 minutes and then came right back up. So this is what he's doing about every three days. Doctor can't figure it out. Daughter brought this brisket of beef for dinner tonight with a fresh salad and Rolls fresh root and peas. He cleaned his plate and that's about an hour ago and right now is watching a baseball game so all is good in that department for the moment.

Grandson is here from Spokane but staying with daughter Tracy. He came over for about two hours today and we have a good visit and ate dinner together. Then he and Tracy took the dogs for a walk.

Grandson Ethan graduate from high school tomorrow. I will not be able to attend because of large stadium and bleacher seating. It is the first one missed but he said he understood. He is very sweet young man.

My figs are very large this year and are ripening quickly. I need to alert my friends that love figs they need to come pick some. I will go out and check my tomatoes tomorrow because should have some ripe.

Deb, happy birthday. Great job on the dogs. Worth all the pain.

Susan not much I can say that has not already been said. These people are absolutely amazingly a total pain in the butt. You cannot Think of all the things they did in just a second. Must've had a site asking for ideas. So sorry you and Bob have to go through this. But they will get theirs sooner or later.

Marilyn I saw that recipe you posted on Facebook and it looks marvelous. It also looks like it will plug your arteries.

Linda if it is your hotdogs you can find some at Trader Joe's and Whole Foods that have no nitrates. They have not too bad in price but I'll have to feed them to you the rest of the family can have the cheap ones.

Betty my sister is very religious and her church and many of their churches in California have been praying for rain. I told her yesterday that God heard their prayers, He did not hear California. I think he thought they said Texas. That when they go to church they need to be more clear.

Betty enjoy yourself in your garden but remember you are supposed to be taking it
easy. Like I can follows those orders. I have done so this time.

Barb have a wonderful week. Hopefully all of us that are down but not out we'll be back soon. Like the Terminator said, "I'll be back"

Hugs to you all. Sharon

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Let me just say one more thing about what "they" did to our home.
I've been venting, but when it comes down to it, these are just "things" that they damaged. We have our lives, each other, and I have all my friends here and online.
Marilynne - you're right, and we are forging ahead. What's past, is past.

The place is beginning to look less like a team of mad packers ran through the place and left boxes everywhere lol
Bob just put up the dining table, and we're starting to put things in cupboards. Stove & oven are gleaming, and our friend John came by today to help me put things in the cupboards. It was awesome of him to help. My knees feel like I have broken glass in them, so John's help was tremendous. No walking back & forth - I just handed him something, told him where it goes, and he did the running back and forth. It's great to have friends like him :D

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Good morning :-)
Belated BDay wishes Deb, and, congrats re the dog shows.
There was a big one up my way in Winnipeg this past weekend .. my cousin showed her Shelties to wins .. :-)

Susan good to hear you have assistance unpacking .. sounds as though things are coming together ..
Hope the contractor can help, should have written Mike Holmes :-)

Sharon .. figs are great .. Dianne sent me a jar of Fig Jam .. it was wonderful ..
Planted 8 tomato plants yesterday, well, hubby did .. now we just need the other part of the rain equation, which is, some HEAT ..

LK .. how's the itches today ?

Karen, are your peepers coming along ?

Dianne and Barb .. what have you been up to ?

Off n running

~M~

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone.

Itches are still here. Not massive like they were, but still hanging in there.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oh man Linda, so sorry, hives are miserable to deal with. Can be caused by stress too.

My eyes are healing nicely, I wouldn't have believed how much my vision would improve. As my surgeon said, I'll have a bigger brighter world. So true.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear your eyes are doing well.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Sounds like everyone is on the mend. That's wonderful.
Glad to hear a bit of cheer Susan. Things will get better for you and Bob now that you can breathe a sigh of relief that you are home.
Happy Belated Birthday Deb and congratulations on the wins....
Been rainy here off and on so it will be a sewing week I think. I am finished with the cross stitch pattern and just have some outlining to finish. My SIL has said he will make me a shadow box for it....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Sharon, one of the memories I have is on special festivities fpgrandma making fig pies..haven't had one since she passed on..wouldn't know how to make one..hmmm don't remember fig jam though..bet you don't have any difficulty getting rid of them..
Poor Vern, nothing worse than not being able to keep meals down, you just don't want to eat I case..congrats on your grandson graduation..hugs, know how much you want to be there but not worth the damage/pain you could do to yourself.

Karen, that is wonderful news re better eyesight..did the process to get it done take a long time?

Lindakay, had hoped the meds would have worked and no more hives.

Deb, glad you got to enjoy your birthday, having wins at the dog show was a plus..when and where is the next show?

Barb, can you show us a photo of your cross stitch..will you keep it for yourself or is your sil hoping once he makes the shadow box that he will get it. Lol

Susan, be you are feeling better now that it is starting to look more like home..imagine, you will have table and chairs to enjoy your meals.

Kyle was here for a visit, his Bike-A-Thon for the Cure for Cancer is this Sunday..brought me some pledge sheets, hopefully I can get pledges from the girls tomorrow..he and brianna have put a lot of effort into the run..Greg will bring his mobile pizza oven to the location and he and Mel will make pizza's for everyone..
Haven't ridden my bike in some time, hope I can do the run!

Sun is in/out, occasional spurts of rain..hoping by mid afternoon the lawns will be dry enough for me to cut.

In the meantime I'm putting elastic and many of my outfits, tired of having to keep lifting them above my behind.

Best I call my baby brother, he turned 60 today!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

lol Betty - we hardly ever use the dining room table for eating on, but now we have room to eat while watching - before, it was intensely crowded

We had a lovely young man come to check out our home, as a licenced contractor, and he's going to give us ph#s of people who can help.
We talked about God, and "letting go". He's Jewish, and I'm Christian, but we both agree that there is one God.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Rainy and cool today was able to do some research for Lorna's folks re real estate, they're going to be selling their home .. quite a market out there, not for the house necessarily, but, the property the house is on ..
Learned lots ..

Hope everyone has had a good day :-)

~M~

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Bought a flat of ever-bearing strawberries and a garden table (a planting bed raised on legs) for Amelia. Strawberries are her favorite, here's hoping they get to actually ripen before she eats them. Got myself a pretty Geranium for the deck table and a couple Hydrangeas for beside the porch. Says they tolerate shade, going to have to if they want to survive. We also have a couple pots of grape tomatoes and some called Rapunzel.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Where will her parents go if they sell the house?

Good luck growing the strawberries!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Got my Calgary Hort membership card renewed, and so will be getting some flowers for the deck (when it's cleared of boxes, etc lol)
This is a perfect time to be planting. Should NOT plant here, before mid-June, because of danger of snowfall (yeah, that's right - June). The last of the snowfall is end of May, but need to make sure ground is warmed up, too.
Going to get some Dahlias and tomatoes, and herbs, for sure

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Another cool morning, but, we are being told this will likely be the last one.
It's 42F .. WITH a NW wind, mostly cloudy day ..

Lorna's folks will move into a seniors condo complex .. her Dad is NOT happy with that, but ,both of her parents are frail now .. her Mom is physically better, but, she seems to be forgetting more.
Wish we lived closer, but, they seem to be doing OK ..
The real estate market is in high gear in their area, and, they will make a very handsome sum for the house/property .. as I mentioned, it's the property that is wanted ..

Lorna goes for her new leg today .. prayers please ..
The bruising and swelling has now gone from her stump, so, hopefully all will be well ..

Karen .. Lorna has Hydrangea planted in shade at the cemetery, and, it is gorgeous .. good luck with the strawberries .. one of the big farms here usually has them ripe for picking in mid July .. can't quite see that with these cool temps ..

Barb .. hope you you get lots done :-)

Dianne .. how's the turtles and the TH and, of course .. you :-)

Betty .. how's the messy guy next door handling the removal of his junk ?

DH has been busy cleaning his MAN CAVE .. we have a load for the dump today ..

Off n running

~M~

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone.

Sending lots of prayers for her new leg to fit and come home with her.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Pictures of the X stitch are on the other computer. I will get there later today. I have Sean for a while with a late start at school today. This piece will be staying here with me. It is a big one and I have another pattern to do as a companion. Makes for fun handwork at night.....

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Strawberries are usually peak up her in late June-early July. Years past when all the grands were here for the holiday, we would have a huge jam session. everyone took turns helping and all took home wonderful strawberry jam. Enough to last several months. None of them think store bought jam is edible.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

At least they will know what is in it!!!!! I'm not fond of store bought jam either. I shop the fairs in the fall for homemade.....

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

We make the freezer jam using Certo. Quick, easy, and oh so good. We even make it in the winter with frozen fruit rather than get store bought.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, well nearly afternoon..

Girls just left, pat finished her purse, too cute with the colours she picked..I did a small window with dragonflies for a draw at Kyle's cancer run Sunday..Aline just wanted to chat and ann painted..June wasn't feeling well so she stayed home..

Thinking of going to town, might if I drum up some energy..do need a few fabrics to continue with 'my Canada' quilts but there aren't choices in midland, need to be in Barrie Friday so likely I'll find what I want then.

The 'butter tart festival' is Saturday, calling for bad weather..sure would put a damper on the event..believe they get thousands in attendance..hoping it will rain late night/early morning or somebody will be eating mega butter tarts.

Usually end of June our strawberries are ready but this year who knows, keeps raining they will rot in the fields

"m" sure hope Lorna's leg fits to perfection, can't believe he could screw it up yet another time.

I do like you Barb, purchase my jam sin boutiques and festivals..the best.
Look forward to seeing your piece, wow, a matching piece, you are ambitious.

Doing a garden Susan is bound to bring smiles..

Lindakay, kids gone home? Your itches no longer?

Karen, you must see a stranger when you look in the mirror..bruising almost gone?

Cold day, have the heat on brrr
Not a work outside kind of day
Hungry, best I go cook lunch

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Bruising is backing off a bit. Swelling has gone down. Seems strange to see things up high without putting my head back.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Can see you are pleased that you got it done..

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Yes I am.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Kids went back home yesterday, and I still have hives. Not as bad as they were, but still here. Waiting for Dr. to call me back and get the allergy testing done.

Victoria Harbour, ON

You wouldn't want to keep going through these outbreaks so it's great they will test you this quickly...like Karen when the kids were there the house must feel quiet..

Was just about to nap and Linda called me from fabricland, she was getting fabric to make 24 coasters..wants to do them tomorrow..I do enjoy it when she comes to sew..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I love having the kids here, but glad when they go back home too! :)
