Dylan is doing pretty good.
As far as Luna, she is on a monthly pill to controll her worm problem.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Did you enjoy your birthday lunch Susan? Was this the Chinese dinner?

LindaKay, will she always have to take these meds? Believe she wasn't well looked after health wise until you got her..bet she is one spoilt pup.

Sharon called, wanted to know if I wanted to go with her to drop off one of her show dogs in Virginia this weekend, big NO! Going for breeding..

Finally called Simcoe Airport Service to book a ride to airport on 22nd. $82.50 +tax, flight leaves at 8:05 and they tell me they pick me up at 3:00am..imagine 5 hrs to get to Toronto airport-100 miles then 3 hrs to Florida, does that make sense. Guess they pick up other passengers along the way then add time incase of blizzard, count in the 2 hr check in before departure and there goes 5 hrs.

Yes enjoyed, nope on Chinese today - that was after our Bible Study last Thursday.
Today was definitely a birthday lunch provided at a restaurant, by my friend Judy.
Holy cow - how costly is That taxi trip to the airport?!?!

Victoria Harbour, ON

You are getting spoilt Susan with all this eating out..

Dianne, you were coming down withe cold/chills yesterday , hope you are feeling ok. Are you getting this heavy rain? Imagine that will be the end of snowmobiling /skiing for my family.

Wide awake, guess that quick shut eye was all the sleep I needed. Lol

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, that is one expensive ride to the airport. Can't you get one of the kids or Grandson's to take you?

Yes, Luna will be on pills for life.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

hahaha yeah, and the Chinese lunch only cost me $10 (we all pitched in for the balance, after Sarah used her $100 gift cert - 9 of us ate $150)
and today Judy insisted on paying for all...... what a sweetheart! I had the cheesecake sampler for dessert, and she can't eat it (gluten in the crust), so I ate the chocolate one, and brought the caramel one home for Bob. They were very small slices of cheesecake but, as we all know - cheesecake is very filling........ !!

lewiston, ID(Zone 6a)

Susan, good to meet you....
as for the carrots, a friend had them in his garden......he had some hot compost dug in and planted right after....they were so deformed but so sweet and good.....they all reminded me of dancers.....
The BT FurBaby just came thru a terrible time of us & our Vets fighting for his life since shortly after Christmas....we ended up @ WSU Vet Hospital where he spent a couple of nights while they sorted everything out, had another surgery and is now on meds that have stabilized him as well as identified what the illness was....Gus is 9yrs old & the little Chihuahua, KatieBug is 9 months old.....after all this illness and things starting to calm down (+ hoping to rebuild some savings back up without constant vet bills) Katie jumped up playing and scratched his eye !! so today spent another $100 bill on appt + meds for the eye.....Darn, Taters, I know you can relate !!!!
Sleep Well Each of you, thought you would enjoy this bottle tree I found recently in my travels......

Oh, sorry to hear about all the vet bill, they add up so fast.
Love that bottle tree, someday I hope to have one, I must need to drink my wine faster. :)
By the way,, my name is Linda, I live in Southwest Texas, right on the Mexico border.

lewiston, ID(Zone 6a)

Linda, I'm Deb & I live right in the middle of the state of Idaho.....I'm a North Dakotan from Sacramento CA.....also lived 4yrs in Wichita KS......I have the frame for my own Bottle Tree which I purchased acouple of years ago from Gardener's Supply, just never have gotten it into the ground....I'm afraid my husband will say it's hokey and make me take it down.....I love blue bottles, I'm trying to turn my bird feeding area blue....we will see.....
pic is the maiden voyage of our motor home......Katie was 2lbs.....

Hi Deb - I used to live in Winnipeg, so right above ND. Now I live in Calgary.

This morning, while checking FB, I saw my daughter had posted that her 4 year old pug (Yoda) had been throwing up bile for 14 hours, and although he seemed fine in between, he wasn't eating, nor was she giving him water. She'd seen on several dog care websites that they should Not get water when they're throwing up.
She took him to the vet's today, and he had too much acid on his tummy, and he was stressed. I asked her about him having an ulcer.......
He's now on anti-stress meds, antibiotics, and something for the acid. She's going to give him 4 small meals per day, then down to 3, then his regular of 2 per day. This way he won't be getting much at first, because of his sensitive tummy that he has now.......
She & her DH had been talking about getting a companion for him but have not done it as yet. As she said "I'd be getting a pet for my dog" Which she means to sound as funny as it Does sound. lol
So, Goofy would be getting a Pluto lol

LK so glad Luna is better. Rats on the meds though... that's a lot of $.

Betty wish I were closer ... I'd just drive you to the airport... that's too much time wasted ! I know you won't waste it though... you'll have 3 blankets, a few tote bags and 2 other crafts done by the time you get to the airport....

Lyndonville, NY

Hi Deb/Depsi! Welcome! I thought those were sweet taters at first and had to take a closer look! Love the pooches!

Tomorrow is my day to take Isabele, my pup to the vet. Dang girl has an ear infection, i am sure of it! Hope I am wrong but
between that and the hot spot on her back I found...not happy! Always happens when so much else going on.

Mary, have you recouperated from the party over the weekend? I hope they cleaned up for you!

Got a text from DS today...just a picture of the mountains and clouds he thought I would like to see. It's a start.

DD goes back to work tomorrow (Thank heavens) and I am on a quick project to make a new wreath for the cemetery for Mom.

Betty, I am SO PROUD of you!!! Saying no to the side trip!!! Yay!!!!

Wish I was closer...I would take you to airport. BUT yes...two hours to go through customs is a PITA! And youw ill need it. You
Canadians are shady characters! "Frisk me frisk me" Draws attention ya know!!!

hehehe

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

ahem......... Debbie...... WHO is a shady character??????? hmpf
Thanks Mary, but my DD has had that suggested by a friend, and didn't take Her advice either lol She would only take the advice of the vet and other animal Drs..... she's been too worried about her furbaby (NEVER thought that she would consider having ME as a furbaby g'ma. Don't get me wrong - I'm NOT a furbaby g'ma, but I do want my DD to feel happy about her furbaby's health. He's only 4 years old, and she loves the little guy, Yoda.

Well, must be soon time for my DH to get home from bowling, so I'd better get the house in order so it looks like I've done Something ROFL

Lyndonville, NY

Why Susan, I was talking about Betty....did I hit a tinge of "shady guilt" LOL Hope you had a great birthday

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

LOL we're both Canadians, doncha know?!?!?! ROFL
I did have a great birthday, thank you!

Lyndonville, NY

And so is Dianne...but you are the only guilty party that said anything! LOL

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! Coffee is ready!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, glad you made coffee Lindakay, I stopped off at TimHortons and decided to get a latte..yuk, way too sweet for me. I'm feeling a lot better, hopefully another few days and I'll be back to myself, not sure wether or not that is good or bad.

Couldn't believe after a night of rain how much snow has melted, few more days like this only the plowed banks will remain. I walked the front gardens and side of the house..lordy I've a lot of leaves to rake come fall..got to find a young man who wants to make some $$$

I'm so laughing Debbie, you won't let me forget that when asked to pull over at customs just how excited I was thinking those young men would frisk me..think my enthusiasm overwhelmed them and they were afraid to..and there you were waiting for me in the parking lot waiting to leave for our excursion and I was quite comfortable sitting with border patrol officers chatting..I'm sure after the fish/chips episode they've marked my entry card with comments galore and when they scan and see me cross over they say 'let this ding bat go through' lol

Mary, you guys know me too well..yep, likely have a project done, only thing, not sure you can have a sewing needle on the plane, not knitting needles - danger to passengers so likely I'll just have to sit. Problem with boys/sons taking me to airport is it's a 2 hr. drive there and back (4) and they work so if it's going to inconvenience someone it should be me. Guess when you take into account gas/parking at the airport it works out to be about the same..done now so I'll just have to get up extra early..normally that's my bewitching hour and I'm wide awake, watch me want to sleep in that morning.

Mary are you behind because witchypoo gave you more files than you should have?

Sorry to hear about all the furries being under the weather..Sailor passed on before I had expensive vet bills and the kitties they are fine, would hate to retire, just have the pension and have those vet bills, yikes, must hurt the pocket book. Not sure I'd spend that much on me!!!

Deb, when I lived at the farm hubby and I had a travel unit and would spend few months in the winter travelling, mostly Florida..sure miss that. Missed it so much I bought a little tow unit that I thought I would use and there it sits, what, must be 3 years ago I bought it and it's never made a trip. Me and my ideas..lol Also love the bottle tree, I have blue bottles that sit in one of the gardens, I too love garden art.

Speaking of garden art they have a large metal blue heron at the Garden Art Studio, keep thinking I should treat myself..leave it outside now so that it can rust

Debbie, meant to add I'm so glad that Shane e-mailed you a photo, as you say 'little steps' Maybe this moving might be what he needs and will show him just how much was done for him by you and hubby. Guess you are packing up, you have to leave early tomorrow morning?

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Good Morning.

Mary you are most welcome. Glad the weather behaved.

Hi Depsi...I am Jean and I live in Prairieville, LA, just south of Baton Rouge where Mary lives.

Debbie, so happy DS touched base with you....one day at a time...good Shannon is feeling better. Have a safe trip hope all goes well for FIL.

Susan, glad the b'day lunch was nice for you.

Glad the furbabies are all doing better.

Hope you all have a great day

Verona, ON

Good old fashioned cold here. Darn! I had hoped to escape the season. I routed around and found my inhalers, all were is cide so I don't have to go out.

Welcome Deb! I am Dianne and live in Verona Ontario - way out in the sticks. I have a pup named DIesel and 2 cats. Hear you loud nd clear on the vet bill. Welcome, don't be a stranger!

Mary it sounded like you had a wonderful time. I am sure GF's parents were made very welcome by your Cajun family. So happy that things went great for you.

Safe travels tomorrow Debbie. Don't forget all the things your DMIL needes. lol as I duck and run. Sending positive ethoughts and prayers for your DFIL and his medical team.

Betty I looked into taking a car service when I went to Charleston. Good move, at least you won't have to worry about your car or rely on someone. I know you are like me and don't like to ask others for help. When does Darlene take possession or has she already?

Hey Thunder, what's up with you today?

So glad you had a great lunch with your friend Susan.

Off to the recliner for a bit - plan to baby this cold today so it doesn't turn into something more.

Dianne

Lyndonville, NY

Dianne, I am going to throw a loaf of bread at you! ROFL She drives me nuts that woman! Think I will just bring my own Nook and books and hold
up in the hotel away from everyone. Dang woman!

Victoria Harbour, ON

So laughing, I was thinking when Dianne said don't throw anything, I was thinking you'd pick up a wood from the wood pile and throw it..what a tease she is.. Yep, best way to keep out of mischief, stay in your room and relax, maybe they have a pool/sauna?

Dianne, as of now Darlene is the owner of the trailer, man is having a new double wide come in this week, about 1 month earlier than expected..we will be able to take most of what Darlene has bought these past months and some of her belongings over to the trailer and leave them there..she so wants me to quit and spend the winter with her but no can do right now, I've kitties..could spend a few months here and there if I do decide to call it quits for work! She is feeling great about having made this move, I'm just thrilled that her voice is so upbeat. She still has bad days, don't get me wrong BUT she is trying to move on..will be more than difficult coming back with her dad being gone, mom in a home and family home sold which was directly in front of hers on the lake..many/many changes..she hasn't even had time to absorb her dad's death yet. Once step at a time right?

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, my MIL called last night....wanting us to drive 30 minutes east...to pick up a loaf of bread she forgot and a jar of sauce. It will cost us
more in time & gas than it is worth...oh and while we are there, get this list!!! That is what Dianne was talking about. Nothing important
like meds or such, and nothing Julie doesn't have down there (except her bathrobe) but she could wear one of Julies!

lewiston, ID(Zone 6a)

Betty, one step at a time....Yes, sometimes that's all we can do.....just put one foot in front of the other....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Question is Debbie, are you going to do it?? think I know the answer before you give it! lol

Deb, how is your weather?

Wow, what a difference a day makes, went to lunch, few flurries in the air..brrrr

Got a call from the Quilt Shop in Campbellford telling me they are delivering my quilt frame to Bowmanville, 2 1/2 hr. drive from me. Unless there is a blizzard I shall go early Saturday morning and pick it up..the putting together will be the question..how/how..now that's when I miss Roger, he'd be game to put all those little pieces together.

Lyndonville, NY

If we don't' do it, we have to listen to her....and I have to see the doctor BEFORE I got to jail.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh myyyy..then you'd better make the side trip!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Betty - you make me laugh......... you can't take sewing needles on the plane either.
You can take your e-reader though... that's what I did when I went to Winnipeg.
Speaking of Winnipeg - wanna know something frustrating?! We can collect "AirMiles" for shopping at certain stores, etc, and I had been saving up for a trip to see my family in Winnipeg (It's a point system, and I have enough Finally, to go). Now that I have enough, they're not allowing taxes and fees to be part of the AirMiles you collect. I have to PAY $178 in taxes and fees over and above.
It used to be that they were covered........
I've mentioned it to my daughter, my mom, and my sister Alice...... no one's offered to pay them, and wouldn't you know it - when you have the time (not working) you can't afford it. When you can afford it (working) you don't have the TIME siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh

Victoria Harbour, ON

That is always the way Susan..perhaps they can't afford it! Let's hope that is the reason.

Same with me, I can afford to stay home, everything paid but no play money or work..one of these days though and I think the time is nearing I'll decide to stay home.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Betty, you may want to call your airline...TSA here just released a new list of approved items....and I think a sewing needle would be acceptable since they are allowing small scissors, pocket knives and nail clippers again....also knitting needles, but recommend the bamboo or plastic circular ones.

http://www.tsa.gov/traveler-information/transporting-knitting-needles-and-needlepoint

In searching, many folks said they bring sewing kits in their carry on with no problem and a couple sites users said they bring their needle point in their carry on bags.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

When I flew to Michigan last year, I flew with yarn, crochet hook, scissors, and yarn needles, they said it was OK, as I had in a plastic box.
But go to the website for the airlines your flying on, and check what they say.

lewiston, ID(Zone 6a)

Betty, it's raining here.....so pretty yesterday but today it's cold and ugly....nice to be inside sewing....

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

My bottle tree

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Love that bottle tree Thunder, and also your tipsy pot!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thunder, think we'd best all start drinking wine, isn't it blue nun that you get pretty blue bottles..did you have it there when I dropped by?

Deb, guess its that time of year, you get changes in the weather almost hourly. Yesterday was springlike, today cold and just since I've been home the ground has a cover of snow..

Will check Jean, just wonder if it makes a difference coming over from a different country?? Will check though as I want to make a few knitted dickies..

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Ty Nant mineral water comes in lovely blue bottles for the "teetotalers" among us.

http://www.tynant.com/main.aspx?pID=40-0

Victoria Harbour, ON

Guess they are more lax, yep I can either sew or knit, oh happy days. Lol

Already in bed, relieved we are not playing tv bingo..wasn't up to it anyway

Yawning away..will be a long week, havent worked a Friday but this Friday we've appts so it's a must..hard to work 5 days straight..sissy aren't I?
