I came into work, still not 100% but will try to put in the day. Left 1 hr. earlier than norm, went and got an oil change which was long overdo..

Mary, it's great that everyone enjoyed themselves and bet you most enjoyed all the children gabbing like old friends as going to same school they'd have lots in common. I'm sure DS's girlfriend's father will be more at ease in letting her come over for visits..he'd have to have been comfortable with you and Lance as parents to have agreed to let her go to Disney World with you last year.

Starting with my 40th BD I always used to send my mam some flowers with a card saying "What were you doing x years ago today?" She loved it! Initially I was only going to do it on the 'big'' ones like 40, 45, 50 but she got such a kick out of it I decided to do it yearly.

Very dull, damp day here. Diesel and I have only been for a couple of walks so far - my joints are talking back at me. Darn! He and I also brought some wood into the carport so if it rains as much as the Weather Liars are saying it is going to I won't have to slug wood in the rain. I definitely do not have enough wood to finish the season - hoping for an early Spring.

Oh LK that cake you offered up for Susan's birthday looks delicious!! How is Luna feeling today?

Definitely off to start up the wood stove. I have the shivers!

Betty, she must be feeling better, she is overly mouthy. We leave Wednesday for Ohio and more testing.

The childhood memory I remember the most was I loved olives, especially the pimento in them, in a sitting I could eat almost an entire jar UNTIL one day at the dinner table my grandfather asked if I knew where the red piece came from, nope I said, he said you know when you were at the zoo and you saw the baboon and his fanny was red????

I got a call from my Dr's office, and the MRI is scheduled for May 9th!! Was supposed to be May 23rd, but due to urgency they put it through a couple of weeks earlier.
I'm pleased, cuz it Could have been 1 year, I heard. As it is, it will be 4 months by the time I have the appointment (mid-Feb when Dr requested it)

Betty, FILs surgery will be extensive. He has something wrong with the disks in his neck/spine in the upper part. From what I understand
they will be repairing the vertebrata, disks etc and putting him back together with screws and metal plate. HOWEVER, that said, he should
only be in the hospital over night (which I don't agree with at age 77 and as extensive).

Susan, that is an early time line from what you thought...and a good call for your birthday!

Omg Debbie, how can they do such extensive/invasive surgery and keep him only for a day..that is criminal. He will be in such pain, can MIL manage to look after his needs..shakin my head, how sad it is how they treat people nowadays.

Remember how when my SIL had her breast removed, they sent her home same day..for months she was.in emerge with some type of infection..had they kept her in, done the dressings they would have caught what needed tending to immediately.

Susan, that is fast..who knows maybe there will be cancellations and you will get in even sooner.

Had my bath, In my jammies, neo-citron and rye on the coffee table, bundled up im a ag quilt watching the snow melt as it rains..just that type of night Lol

I told them I would take out of town appointments - ABAnn said that may help. Apparently not, as my Dr's assistant said May 9th was already quick.

My DH has had similar surgery a few times...only stayed overnight. some Drs feel patient gets better rest at home, and sometimes insurance won't pay for longer....

last surgery, they built a "cage" around a few discs / vertebra to hold his spine together....low back. before that they went in through front of neck and put a big plate in. on the back side of spine, shape reminds me of a link of a bike / motorcycle chain. his plate is like three links together. he can not turn his head sideways as much as most people can, nor can he bend neck forwards or backwards nearly as much as most can....plate keeps spine from bending.

The advances in this type of surgery is just amazing !!! it not for it, hubs would not be able to walk, he has had two different DRs look at his xrays, MRI's and say they can not believe that he is able to walk...we are thankful every day !!!

Betty, when I had my lower back surgery in 2001, I spent one night in the hospital. That is all that insurance allows these day's.

That is just horrible! Thunder, sounds similar to what they are doing to FIL. AND...They are staying at SIL's house in Ohio for two weeks. He lives about 30 minutes from us...but having the surgery at Cleveland Clinic also.

MIL probably won't get off her ($(#)@)@($($()@ back side and do anything. Nothing wrong with the woman physically....but extremely over weight.
Doctors have told her to get up and move. BUT...even with all FIL's illnesses...of which ARE real, she constantly gives him lists to do! BUT if she wants
to go shopping, or bake something for church....she is fine to stand for hours in the kitchen or shop Target, Sams club and be gone all day.

Considering I went to church for a bit today, I asked forgiveness for that outburst already! LOL

Debbie, Lord will understand..know people like that, only incapacitated when they want to be, other than that it's poor me. Glad he will have good care and be not too far from the hospital should he need to go if feeling unwell. Nice that someone else other than Paul and yourself have to take on looking after them.

How blessed indeed you are to have hubby up and walking..they have come such a long way but I still think overnight stay is a bit much.

LindaKay, you are a lucky lady as well, you would never know looking at you that you have such severe problems with back issues..

Well, Luna is doing better today, she has been outside several times wanting to play fetch with her baseball. Good to see her active again.

Glad I dropped in again, welcome Deb, don't those two look as though they are in search of mischief..now that is some carrots, must have good soil in your neck of the woods. Do you have a large garden, you'd have to in order to grow crops that size.

LindaKay, have they found meds to help Luna's ailments? Glad your both out playing ball..miss Sailorgirl, she was always at my side with her ball. How is Dylan doing?

Thunder - I know you love your DH dearly, and I'm so glad that the two of you are blessed with each other. The Lord is surely looking after your dear Hubs, and he's able to carry on, but surely he's in a lot of pain with his back........
