Marion, have your sister get in touch with the PA that gave the orders....

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Jean, she has. Just everyone seems to be giving the run around about getting it done. As they have missed today's pick up it won't be done until just before the 5 am pick up tomorrow morning. Lots can happen in that length of time and she has advised everyone there will be some actions taken.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Good on your sister. Threatening action usually gets them going as they all are afraid of law suits and having their facility under scrutiny....if they ever say" more patients than staff "as an excuse, the state will usually step in and do an up close inspection and often give them the option...hire adequate staff or reduce capacity...which greatly affects their bottom line. Sad when money becomes the motivating factor.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Perhaps somehow Marion they will get a culture even if it means getting it done at a hospital..remember when we were overwhelmed the day Roger died, said nothing could be done to ease his pain..finally Greg went to doctor on staff and asked 'now what process wipeouts ou do if this was your father?' within half hour he was on dialisis..usually hits the heart strings of those in charge.

Diesel/Deisel, perhaps Dianne he just wanted to let you rest and decided to get his own meal..hopefully nothing will come from eating cheese products.

Drive into work this morning was with rainbow in the sky and again on my way home..-18 but a sunshine day.

Have the sniffles so off to bed I go..

Long night, just couldn't sleep..

Marion, here is hoping good news is heard this morning..

clear but bitter cold out there, am sitting here having a coffee break and trying to talk myself into getting dressed and getting pathway to back entrance shoveled for the girls today but I'm not moving too quickly!

Was in search of seed packets for a valentines swap, found everything but..omg even found a stained glass lamp shade,must have made it for a Christmas gift last year and forgot I did so got me another nice gift to give away and no work to it!

Envy you all who are getting sleep..hate when you get these off times of 'no more than hours of sleep'

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Good morning all. Sending prayers for your Mom Marion.
What a treat Norm and I had last night. As part of our Christmas present from our daughter we were given four tickets to a stage play. And last night, we took our daughter and one of our sons to see "Spamalot"!!! It is a Monty Python type show and we all laughed from the opening lines until the end!!! What a wonderful evening. Only bad thing was that the seats were upstairs (second row balcony) and that just about knocked me on my backside. But I made it slowly and got there. Breathing has a lot to say for itself!!!!
Today is a sewing day. I hope to get the borders on my latest project and maybe get going on the next five totes.
Hope Diesel is doing okay today!!!
Be back later....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Darlene just emailed me, her mil who is in Florida only miles from her got rushed to the hospital, now being operated on, sme sort of bowel obstruction..needs some prayers!

Barb, so glad you and Norm enjoyed the play..nice when you go to something and don't come out disappointed. Look forward to seeing your sewing project.

Jeff just called, I wasn't in, Suzanne told him to call around mne..know he's leaving for Las Vegas shortly, hope we get to gab before he leaves.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone!
Betty, you have been having a lot of these sleepless nights! Sounds like you need a snow blower?
Barb, sounds like you had a good time at the play?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh goodness Betty, sorry to hear about Darlene's MIL! Sending prayers!

Victoria Harbour, ON

I have a snowblower, not really enough area from back deck to basement entrance to what snowplow man does..more trouble than it's worth

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Sending prayers for Darlene's MIL too...
Got two borders to put on this. Here it is just on the design wall with separate blocks. Now it is put together and needs the borders.

Just love it Barb..and here you had this treasure sitting in a closet!!! wonder what else you will find lol

Darlene just called, she was crying, been trying to reach in-laws (BIL/SIL) and can't get answers..now she's fretting like crazy..I went on-line and got her the hospital's name/address/ tel.#..told her to call and perhaps she can get info that way.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Girls at the house..I had a cover on the quilt tops that need quilting, took measurements and just put a sheet over them..guess Missy got under the sheet and was ill, wouldn't you know, she was sick on the morning glory quilt top..they said it was on a morning glory, worse that can happen is I can pick off thread and redo the morning glory if it doesn't come out..morning glories are on white though, here is hoping it will come out..

ohhhh was a rainbow in the sky again this morning

Quiet here, think I'll take a quick run to the little fabric shop as I need brown and beige tones for the eagle I'm doing.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh Oh, sure hope it comes out easy for you?

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Sending prayers for Darlene and her MIL.

Last report about 11 last night was mom was resting. The nurse did manage to get her to drink some liquids and eat a small dish of ice cream. No fever. Sue is on her way in today and will call as soon as she finds out some more information. Looking more and more like another UTI. Thanks everyone for letting me vent and stress out yesterday.

Victoria Harbour, ON

was thinking oxyclean but might bleach the material.
Think I'd best be putting these 1/2 finished pieces in a tote..good lesson to me

Victoria Harbour, ON

You had every right to Marion..overwhelming for sure! Let's hope it's good news.

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, dawn dish soap gets food/vomit stains out pretty well without the bleach issue.

Hi Everyone - I'm still hanging in with this darn virus. Mostly I have very little energy. I'm grateful not to be in pain; just tired of being tired.

Tony and I are continuing to put the insulating film on the 24 French door windows. I think we will finish tomorrow. I am working on the curtains. Going slowly as I'm feeling so dull-witted I'm afraid of making mistakes.

Making ceviche with fresh scallops. The peppers were hotter than I'd realized and I almost burned my eyes. Will also make cole slaw if I don't fall asleep.

Our weather is beautiful and I wish I could be in the garden. I do have most of my fabric sorted and back on shelves.

Knee pain is worse while I'm sick but I must admit I'm more grumpy than in pain. I'm grumpily grateful for that.

Lots of prayers going out.

hugs, katie

Victoria Harbour, ON

You are making progress Katie..perhaps doing a tad too much!

Marion, update on your mom please..

Debbie, when do you go to the Ohio hospital, soon isn't it..

Bev, how are things going for you??

Crissy, if you are lurking..my amarylis is a beauty..almost each day another has bloomed..wish I had a 3d camera

my updates..

Darlene called, her MIL is out of surgery, Darlene is not quite sure what the operation entailed but should hear tomorrow.

Ann just called, no t.v. Bingo, they sent Toby from Toronto General today to Princess Margaret's (cancer hospital) and the biopsy news wasn't great.

Toby is getting dressed, says he's going home to die, his father who just this year lost his wife and just can't take much more left the hospital heading north and Ann is beside herself. She said she was calling Toby, try to calm him down, make him understand he has a chace is he continues with chemo and his treatments then will try to reach her brother..She will leave early tomorrow morning for the city..

think they could all use prayers.

think I'll call my mom, make sure she's feeling better

How is your dad dong LindaKay.

Pat my girlfriend who was here today with the girls just called, wanted to check on both Dar and Ann, gabbed about a few other friends not feeling up to par...drats it gets overwhelming at times doesn't it!

mulege, Mexico

It sure does, Betty. Glad we have each other. And Tony. katie

Oh my, sending prayers of comfort and strength to Ann, Toby and all of their family. This whole situation is just too much to handle for anyone let alone what these people have been through this last year.While it is up to Toby I do hope and wish he will let PMH do 'their' magic on him. I don't think that I have ever heard anyone say anything against the hospital. That is where I went for my radiation and have nothing but praise for everyone involved with the hospital. I can understand how frustrated and hurt Toby must be and am praying Ann will have some influence over him.

Today with a very leaky face I put Quill's quilt away. I had to for Diesel's sake. Poor little tyke - all 90 lb of him. For the second time about 3 am last night he laid down on Quill's quilt and started to whimper. I moved down beside him and much more than a whimper was coming out of me. He is still looking for her.Tomorrow I am going to measure out his daily kibble as he is eating but I am not sure how much. There seems to be an awful lot of kibble left in that bowl at the end day. Today he finally figured out how to use the knob and open the garden doors to the deck. If I put him out on the deck from now on I am going to have to remember to lock the door.

Betty are you in for a nasty storm? Sounds like we are in for a doozy. There is a freezing rain alert for Thursday which is after what the Weather Liars are forecasting a major snow event. Now it seems to be forecasted just for our little area so it could be just a local storm.

Barb please tell us all about your night out? Sounds exciting!

Katie glad you feel well enough to grumble. My sweet dad used to say if you can grumble then you know you are alive. Why he would say that to a 5 year old I don't know, unless I was whining about feeling sick.How is your thimb, pretty much healed now?

Debbie did you have lots of left overs yesterday?

~~~~ to everyone. Sweet dreams!
Dianne
Victoria Harbour, ON
Decided seeing as I'm not playing tv bingo tonight I'll Cozumel up in bed..maybe look for a quilt pattern. Niece that is getting married in Jamaica in May finally answered my email..wanted to know for a wedding gift if they would like either a stained glass lamp or quilt..had hoped she would say quilt as I have the morning glory quilt to quilt for them..she threw a wrench into her reply, said they both love earth tones..guess. Blues/yellows wouldn't work. Lol. Sooo now looking for easy/easy pattern as May comes quickly.
Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)
Marion - glad to hear your Mom is doing better with no fever.
She was born the same year (1919) as my Mom - she'll be 94 on May 2nd.
Prayers continuing to be said for your Mom
Victoria Harbour, ON
Dianne, was snowing a bit on my way home, was blowing a little more here as winds were coming off Georgian bay..will have to check what they are calling for over the next few days..maybe I should have transferred the phones.
Glad Diesel has you and you he..grieving the loss of a friend is easier when you have a friend to hug.
PMH. Is a terrific hospital, one of the best..Toby was getting his chemo there, was well enough to spend time up north until his next chemo, then got I'll and had to be hospitalized, operated on and now not only very I'll but homesick, in a depression and just doesn't know what to do..let's hope Ann can talk sense to him
Verona, ON
If Ann can convince Toby to continue his treatment I wonder if he would consider staying at the Lodge during treatments? The Lodge does wonders for your spirits, energy level and over all well being. Just a thought and I don't mean to butt my nose in but I know staying there rather than at a friends for the 6 weeks did wonders for me emotionally.
Hello All;
Betty seems I saw something like Debbie mentioned on www.pinterest.com that the blue dawn mixed with vinegar cleans almost everything...
(HUGS) for Dianne and Diesel... and for Marion and family....
Katie ... I'll be over shortly as I do so love scallops and ceviche....
1/2 way through the *project* at work.... worst day will be tomorrow then big *sigh* of relief....
Betty maybe your niece would love the morning glory? and doesn't know that is an option... ?
Hugs,
Mary
I'm Late!!! We had a power outage for a bit over 2 hours! Sure cooled off in here fast with it being 17 outside!!
Betty, we leave Sunday for Ohio. I am not thrilled with any of it, and furious with DH. Biting my tongue as I am just so so upset and
can't say something nice.
Stressed over Shane also, so that is adding fuel to the fire. He is still not home, says he is in Ohio..was going to be home Sunday...then Monday...
then Tuesday. Now he says "Ill let you know". He won't even answer DH's texts...so I am relieved he will mine.
I think I need to get warmed up in bed.
Sweet dreams
Debbie
Victoria Harbour, ON
Morning all,
Debbie., is the power outage due to a storm, never a good thing in the winter.lyou have no secondary heat? Drats, thought Shane was home with you baking cookies and here you say he's in Ohio..do you know exactly where? Too bad he and Paul can't get their acts together..sure can understand why you would be upset..hugs my friend..how long will you be hospitalized? Might do you some good resting and having someone looking after your needs, kind of like a mini holiday.
Mary, perhaps you are right, I could always say that I started it and had finished the quilt by the time she got back to me.
Counting the days as well when you can take that deep sigh of relief..January hasn't been the best start to 2013!
Have to buy some dawn and try it on the quilt top.grrr
Lyndonville, NY
Betty, this is an outpatient clinic. SO will be staying at nephews house and hour away and traveling to hospital daily for appointments and testing.
Right now I just now be there at 7:40 a.m on Monday morning. They will do evaluation and decide testing and "whats next" then.
Paul's family all lives in the area...so it is more stress than vacation for me. We have to drive his parents down with us (God help me) and his Dad is
having surgery Wednesday to fix pinched spinal issue....not good. Told DH he should be there for his dad....and just let me do my thing.
No, don't know where in Ohio Shane is....if that is really where he is. I don't believe him, and believe he is heading out to Colorado with his girlfriend.
He has sold his computer, guitars and many other "treasures" he would never let out of his site. It isn't good.
Power outage was from an accident. Car hit a telephone pole....haven't heard if injuries yet. We do have a kerosene heater, but I won't use it at night
when sleeping.
Debbie
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)
Debbie, what did I miss, your having surgery?
Morning everyone!
Betty, as fast as you are with your quilting, I bet you could get something done for then in natural colors? You could do a Irish chain in those colors? Nothing but a 9 patch! Like these...
Not the greatest of news on both points Debbie..likely Paul feels his dad needs him but his place is with you!!! Sure am praying they will have answers for you. Will the child be home to look after the furries? Big sigh, indeed it doesn't look good Shane selling off his treasures..maybe it would be a good dose of reality to be away from home and family, no support system..am sure you are filled with anxiety..sending hugs.
No don't think I would leave kerosene heater on all night either..I think about same with the electric fireplaces, thankfully they have timers so I put the bedroom one on for a few hours..just long enough to cuddle in and fall asleep.
Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)
WooHoo!! Rick's girlfriend got a full time job at the Shell station in Girard just four mile away. Things are looking up. I cashed in my stash of change and got $375.00 that will pay the light and water bill for this month. With three pay checks we will get along ok. Won't know anything about any criminal charges or anything until the end of this month. Thank all of you so much for being there for me. HUGS BEV
Lyndonville, NY
Linda, no surgery I hope. Sending me to Cleveland to get some answers for what the doctor botched up. 18 months ago had my left ovary removed and came
out of surgery paralyzed from knees down. Doctor hit nerves in my back or something and it has been a painful road back, nerves regenerating and such. But trying to find out what is going on for real and not a "you developed an auto immune disease while under anesthesia" answer!!!
