Good luck finding answer's Debbie! When I had my back surgery, my right leg was numb for 8 weeks. I could not even move my toes! I kept telling the Dr, it was numb, and I had to use a walker just to get to the bathroom! After lots of manipulations from my chiropractor, I finally got the feeling back!

Linda, I understand. I think my "issue" is it was an ovary, nothing in the back/spine or any of that area. And she shouldn't have been anywhere near the area
for an injury like that. Yes, I was in hospital for 8 days then moved to Rehab for 10 days and came home with walker/wheelchair. I have to mentally think
when walking of what I am doing...it isn't automatic anymore.

I sure hope they find the problem Debbie! Just remember, that if your thinking of a lawsuit, there is a 2 year limitation. You have 2 years from date of surgery to file, if you go past that date, there is no lawsuit!

Went looking for something easy..Missouri Quilts had a tutorial on Periwinkle quilt..love it..done with Wacky Web Template sooo I went on-line to order beginner kit, was $19.99 so I keyed it in to buy, end result they want $40.95 to ship, lordy what I would get would fit in a little office envelope..so no go! Will take a quick run downtown this morning as I need a further fabric for outer border for my 'eagle' and will ask if they have a supplier they can get it from..if not, I'll just look and make one myself..lol

Ohhh so many choices..knew LindaKay wouldn't mind so I had it sent there..doesn't give a delivery date ..Anxious to get it, will do the Perriwinkle quilt for the wedding ..guess it means a trip to Buffalo for earth tone fabrics.. on the tutorial it gives you yardages needed so I'd be ok for purchasing. Do have a Saturday morning class for the Husqvarna lessons, just called, the plexi quilting surface still not in..love it when you prepay things and then it's forever and a day before it comes in.

Hi Betty

Haven't heard anything about Marie (MIL) but did learn today that mom has been in the hospital - she couldn't breath so they took her to Midland Hospital on Monday and kept her until they could get her set up at Kings with oxygen. She will probably be on that forever now and they also put her on prednisone to clear her lungs and fluid. I'm seriously thinking of coming home but Sue said that mom didn't even want me to know and said please do not come home that she would let me know if things got worse. Sue and Steve are taking her to see Dr Veall on Monday so we should know more then. I don't know what to do I guess I will figure it out.


She just called crying, torn between coming home and what could she do or staying down south, but what happens IF something were to happen????? Told her I'd go into Midland on my way home this evening to check and see how she is doing..big sigh

Betty, this is so hard on Darlene. I so can relate to things going on and not being present.

Debbie, I didn't realize all the problems you were having and so hope some relief is forthcoming.
Katie, sure can relate to knee problem. Currently mine seems to be improving but I have to really watch or I will go down....not a good idea as that is what got me into trouble in the first place.

Update on mom. She is some better, Sue (my sister) finally was able to get them to order a specimen to check for UTI and of course that is part of what is happening. She is still not eating very much...mostly soups and ice cream. They have been able to get some liquids in her without her choking. All in all better but what degree of "better" under the circumstances is what? She was able to talk with me yesterday but it really exhausted her.

Girlfriend Rita called me at work, she and hubby have been having mega problems since he retired from police force..went to pay bills and all $$$ was taken from acct. Barb, they own house on the bay where Sharon was staying..Debbie, you met Rita once at Xmas tree store, she was the 6'3" lady who was with me.

Went to the home to visit with Mae, she is very weak, mostly due to breathing problems..now on air and pretnazone(?). Stayed for 1hr. Then she was having trouble speaking so I left and said I'd be back Friday if not tomorrow night. Then called Darlene who had everything packed..yikes..will stay in Florida for now..still hasn't had news re her MIL Marie, funny (but don't I know) once their child dies its almost as though they blame you and most ties are cut..Dar was all but exhausted..


Drats everyone has been telling me about cheap flights out of buffalo/Niagara falls..I sure can't find them

Hi Everyone,

I'm happy to report that all is well here. I'm much better today and got enough done in my bedroom that I worked in the garden for a couple of hours. Gave a small seedling tree to a neighbor and garden advice to Dana and her friend. Also got my trees potted up to await their permanent locations.

Tony finished the film on the French doors. I did a little more work on the curtains.

This is our best weather time so the garden and other outdoor work will take priority for awhile.

Remember the bird that pooped in the food processor? Well. today I had the ingredients for a sweet potato pudding in the blender coming to room temperature while I worked outside. I came in to check and a mouse was helping itself from the blender!! Tony has been setting traps. There were mice here when I moved in (about eight years ago) and getting rid of them is hard. The dogs would like to help but mostly just pull things off the shelves and make a mess.

On Sunday I play in a poker tournament for a seat in the World Series of Poker next summer (worth $10,000). I think there are about 1500 entries so I'm not holding my breath. I qualified by winning two other tournaments but so did everyone else who plays. Betty, you asked about fees. I pay less than $20 a month and can play in lots of tournaments. Lots of them are for points or entries in money tournaments. I like it especially as I can't lose any money playing there so I can play even when I'm not feeling well without worrying about going broke.

It is really nice to have it warm enough to be working outside. And not to be feeling grumpy.

Betty, go directly to the Delta Airlines site. They were cheaper on there direct booking than using Tavelocity or Kayak or Priceline. That was what I flew
into Florida and it was $223 round trip.

Our parents and families are sure suffering, to be sure....
Prayers for all, and not to forget those of us that are suffering through medical malpractice.......
Not forgetting either those who are just plain hurting, tired, and upset.
So glad we're here to vent our anger, hurt and anything else that comes to mind.

Of course we're here for the good times, but when bad times hit, we can help shore each other up!!

May last longer with the company, but not in my current "fill-in" job. They interviewed 3 people today, for the job. Not sure when the new person (whoever it may be) would start, but the boss needs to decide which one of the three she wants.
After that, I may change my job description to Just do the Iron Mountain archiving of their impossibly large amount of files to send away. I've been doing it as part of my job, and there's enough for more months of work. Not exactly my type of job, but work's work......... just like pay's pay......

No Betty. Not criminal charges against me. Charges against Scotty,s ex and his son for taking my money and their fraud against the Fed Gov because Medicaid was paying his bills. They will be in very hot water!!! Hi all Hugs BEV

Dad is doing better, he finally got all his staple's removed, and is allowed to put his shoe on with the brace for his leg. Sis said he is walking better, and can now transfer himself from the wheel chair to the toilet with out assistance, or falling. Still no word on how long he will be in therapy. The Dr. was checking out the toe that was removed, he said that it looks really good, there is nice blood flow to the foot, but the middle toe is looking kind of funky, so they will be keeping an eye on that.

Betty, what airport are you flying INTO down in FL??

OK, are you driving back with Darlene? I found a one way for $215 on Delta from Buffalo/Niagara into Ft. Meyers area.

Round trip was $382.00

Southwest doesn't fly from Buffalo, Air-tran is their "sister" but...best deal was Delta.

Let's all concentrate on the thought that Scotty's ex and his son get what they deserve. "Think lovely thoughts" as it says in Peter Pan.

YouTube has the full interview of Kia the hitchhiiker who did "smash, smash, smaaash" with the back of an ax on a would-be murderer. Truly amazing. Wish we could fix him up with a few people we know but he only seems to have acted to prevent worse violence. It's going to be interesting to follow the story of what happens to him.

We have to go to town and buy hose. The line from the water tank to the house has sprung several leaks.

Not wanting to waste more than a minute or so on the Scotty clan I am sending up prayers for Bev to be restored financially and emotionally. You go, girl. So glad you have a support system with you.

Susan, glad you're work will probably continue. Working is so much better than job hunting. Maybe the boss you did so much for will have an accident - this is not a suggestion.

What I'm thinking of doing for a week (working around including the day of Feb 18th which is long weekend for us-less days I take off that way) is flying out of Niagara Fally NY or Buffalo NY and into Fort Myers or Naples..Fort Myers being closer..don't want to pay an arm and a leg, just a short visit with Darlene. End of March I fly down one way to pick her up and bring her back,providing of course her mom doesn't take a turn for the worse.. will keep searching..found something but everytime I go to key it in, goes off google..got a telephone number, will call them and see if an agent can help..ultimate would have been leave late Friday, return Sat. or Sun.

thought if Ann didn't have such issues with Toby and my girlfriend Dianne wasn't doing anything could almost drive down but then you have to contend with possible storms.

Glad your dad is improving LindaKay, sounds as though there may be another operation re the other toe. when I visited with Mae I looked at her legs, they are double if not tripple the size, completely black and sores...yuk..she was glad to see me, think I'll go again today providing weather co-operates at least just to say 'hi' her house sale is next Friday..she says she wants to sign papers and then ready to go..says she is tired. Always in good spirits though.

LindaKay, it's Rita's hubby doing all of this..sure wish their condo (on Lake Simcoe) and their home on Georgian Bay would sell so he and she could both go their own ways..told her if need be come stay with me.

OK, one thing...if you fly on a Friday or Monday...the price goes up! If you can get out on Wed. or so....it is cheaper. Let me run some prices.

Paul just came in for a meeting..had me call all the staff at different offices to say 'work' from home tomorrow..doesn't want anyone travelling in a storm..

Starting to snow, Paul frets for us..told us rather than take our lunch at 2:00pm for us to leave and head home..makes for a short day/week..glad to have such a considerate boss!

Home and in my Jammie's...feels so nice to be as comfy as I am.

Don't have to go out until Saturday mornimg husqvarna sewing class and if weather isn't the best well home I shall stay.

DB Bernie just called, he will call in here either tomorrow or Saturday afternoon to see what I want done..hmmm maybe after I spend $$$ to get things done I won't be having Florida $$$$ lol

Well, just a short note to try to catch up quick. I'm suppose to be working on some other stuff so will make this short and sweet. It's snowing here and has been off and on since earl y this morning, but is heavy right now. Just took all the dogs out quick and got the mail. You are suppose to really get the snow out there on the east coast Debbie. Hope you don't get caught in it and are safe and warm in the house. Betty, you are lucky to have a boss that cares, so hopefully you are home safe and sound by now and stay that way. Hopefully if you fly the weather will be good. The oldest GD lives in Estro a suberb of Ft. Myer. She loves is there. Maybe someday I'll get there to visit.
LindaKay so glad to hear your father is doing better. Hopefully he continues and the other toe straightens out on it's own. Will say prayers for continuing good health.
