(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, that was some notification for your order! I will get it shipped off as soon as it gets here.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thought it was cute LindaKay..thanks, I'm looking forward to working with the kit.

Called aunt Muriel, she bought everything she needed to do a rag quilt, told her if weather is not too bad to come and id help her with it. She said she hasn't been well, reminded me she's 84 and has had a good life..

Just heard on news that a 9 year old gave birth, c section, both mother and child doing well, what to hey, both are babes..imagine

Where are you all, missing you?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, I heard that on the news too! Pretty sad situation. Report said she is one of 11 kids, parents have to work long hours to support them, and the kids were in supervised.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Know they said they were in search of the dad..

Lazy tonight, on the couch watching hawaii50' Riley Laing on my tummy snoring and missy on my feet..should get up and have supper but hate to disturb them. Lol
Guess I'm here until my legs get numb.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Glad you are home safe and warm Betty.
After a note like that from TMQC I don't think I would hesitate to order from them. That note really caught my fancy!!!
hope Darlene's Mom is okay. That poor girl has had more than enough this past year...
And please let Ann know Norm and I are praying for her family....

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Betty - re: MSQC - I would buy something from them just to get that notification!! WOW

oh that poor 9 yo! My daughter was assaulted when she was 9yo (over 25 years ago), and thought she'd burst open with the pregnancy because babies are big, compared to her size. She was terrified. btw - she was not raped, but didn't know that she couldn't be pregnant.
I can only imagine what this 9yo was thinking during the pregnancy......

Victoria Harbour, ON

Was thinking the same about the notification, makes me want to order something right away. Lol. Great way to make a customer feel important isn't it.

Will pass on your concern for Toby Barb..Ann appreciates it as does Darlene re her mom.

How terrible Susan!!

Just told kitties its time for me to eat, best they find another place to sleep

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Thing is, our daughter told us right away (maybe 2 weeks after it happened) and besides the stuff we did for her (took the fellow to court!!!!), my hubby & I went to counselling for family members of those who'd been abused. They said it was really rare for a child to disclose so early, because some disclosures don't come for up to 20 years!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just so hard to understand how some can hurt children so..great you got counseling!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I really "feel" for this 9yo child who, with her family's help I presume (11 kids?!?! how could they afford to help?), will get by but it will be a burden.........
I hope they find the father! I'm glad to hear she's doing fine, but it's hard on a grown woman's body, let alone a wee 9yo child!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thinking of a few young girls who are about 9, mind can't even go there..

Yuk ate too much, tummy is churning.

Laying on the couch, thought I should take it easy, back is healing, but I sure am fighting the doing nothing!

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

I did not hear that, of course I don't often listen to the news...poor darlin'

hope all of you getting snow stay warm and safe.....been trying to get hold of one of my boys all day, he is supposed to be travelling to Rhode Island tomorrow, from South Carolina. weather is making it sound like it will NOT be a good time to be traveling....sure wish he would call back!!

spoke to him a few days ago, he was waiting on orders. He said he thought he would be getting them soon. and He was told, they would say he was to leave Friday. To be there for Monday!!! I guess someone higher up had told him the orders would be coming.....

the youngest (here) sent him a text yesterday that he did not answer, and hubs and I have both sent texts today, and I have called and left a few messages. not like him to not answer for such a long amount of time........trying not to be worried.....

very nice note to get from Missouri Star.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thunder, not to worry, sometimes sons just don't realize that we still worry about our babes..hopefully he'll not have to drive in bad weather..maybe his orders didn't come in..did you try his fiance's?

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

thanks Betty, sorry to report they are no longer together.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sure hope you hear from him soon Thunder.

Well, Dad will be transferred to a long term care facility next week. The case worker for Dad called my Sister today, they went in for a conference, and was told that Dad has done all he can as far as therapy, and medicaid will not pay for him to stay where he is, and they will not allow him to go back to my Sisters home as no one can be there with him during the day while they work. He can't walk or go potty by himself, and he needs 24/7 care. She called all over Grand Rapids where she lives, and there are no home available, so they are moving him 30 miles away to a home. Bob, my brother in law, posted on Facebook what was going on, to update the family, and my youngest brothers, youngest daughter went off, and told him that we don't care about what happens to him, told us all that we have been lying to him all this time and just went on and on about how no one cares, and how terrible we have been treating him. That made all of us really upset. Bob told her she has no right to say things like that, she has not been around to know all the details, so keep her mouth shut and opinions to herself. So all the family has been upset and crying.
Just wanted to give you update on what is going on!

Victoria Harbour, ON

LindaKay, why is it those who do the least are the ones that have much to say and all for no good. I'm so sorry they've upset you and your sister..worse of it is putting it on Facebook for all to read. Absolutely no respect. Hugs

Thunder, did not realize they broke up..disappointing I'm sure!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I have ordered frequently from MSQC and am very impressed not only how quickly they ship but the quality of their items. There daily deals are absolutely the best!!!!

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

finally heard from the son. he has not yet received official orders??? but knows he is supposed to be in RI before the 17th. He is supposed to get his truck back from repair, tomorrow. and was planning on leaving Sat morn..... I told him to go have supper somewhere with a television !!!! this storm sounds like a doozy. he asked is it like a frozen Hurricane?? I said yes !!! he had no idea!!!! so he is gonna check out the weather, and of course he still has to wait for the orders.....he is supposed to get 10 days for travel, and "settling in".. so he should have gotten orders by now....I told him it might be smarter to wait till Sun or Monday to travel, give everywhere time to clean up!!!!

well he can not go anywhere till he gets the paper work? !!!

safe and warm wishes to all the northerners in line of Storm Nemo

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sure hope he does not have to travel in the storm Thunder!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

It will all be over by Monday Thunder and that gives him a week to get up here. Should not be too much of a problem and roads should be well cleared by then. Just tell him to bring his long johns as it is a bit chilly this time of year!!! LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning,

Sure is white out there, feels good to sit with a coffee in hand and not having to go anywhere..imagine schools are closed and tv relaying that people should not be taking the roads...amazes me, years ago we had triple the snow, blizzards and it was just part of winter, now alerts are going on whenever we get a few inches.. Too funny, just as I'm typing Kevin from bt television saying same thing!

Marion need a wedding quilt so I'm hoping this new template and paper makes an easy and quick quilt top..thought I had ordered the giant size dresdenplate template from them but nope, it was from Nancy's Notions..

Thunder, wonderful that DS responded and you are no longer worried. As Barb says, within a couple of days you will never know a storm passed through. How long will he be posted in Rhode Island..yep, best he pack up LNG johns..good news is he will be on springs doorstep and won't need them for too long.

For those in the snow be safe and stay warm..

Now to find something to keep me busy. Lol

Verona, ON

Good snowy morning everyone! it is really coming down now. When I put Diesel out at 4:30 am he had a blast. He was running, jumping off the ground on all 4 paws at once and then snow plowing until he fell over. He came right in and laid in front of the wood stove.

(((LK))) we had a similar siutation in our family when mam was moved within the nursing home. My 1 nephew just lost it and started running off at the mouth full of criticism for everyone. Since he hadn't seen his Grandma in over 4 years my DB had no problem blasting him back. Still the words were dais and there is no taking them back once they are out there. It is good news though that your dad has made such good strides that they felt he could move on to another facility.

Bitter cold and we are looking at over a foot of snow just today with more coming overnight. Still better than freezing rain!!

Paul is a wonderefulboss Betty. it is wonderful he is so thoughtful of his employees when weather such as we are experiencing hits. You stay safe up there Miss Betty - no galavanting around tomorrow if the roads aren't cleared. More snow called for overnight here, how about you?

Wood stove is smacking its lips so will be back later. Stay safe everyone!
Dianne

Verona, ON

Watching BT too Betty. Love Kevin!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

You must get a lot of laughs watching Diesels antics in the snow..Sailor when younger absolutely loved digging herself in snow banks.. Guess you will get your major downfall later this morning! Ham sure you have that wood stove stoked up.are your kitties indoor kitties. Both missy and Riley love the outdoors but rare they want out come winter time..as I open the doors they simply sit, look out and tell me 'there is no chance their gong out...close the door it's cold!'

Yes Paul is a great boss..about 4 years ago when we travelled to Toronto every day we ventured home into a storm and ended up under the wheels of a tractor trailer (some of you may remember) and only through Suzanne's smart thinking did we survive..think it made Paul aware of how easy it would have been to lose several members of the family...soo no chances taken..besides with me having the telephone transferred and computer accessible business goes on.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

The snow has started here - about a half hour ago and we already have a good coating. It is supposed to last until sometime tomorrow. Norm is on the road but only for a little while and then he will be home. I'll worry until then but I trust his judgement. Latest report is 24-30" I have all kinds of work to do should we lose the power - between cross-stitch and crocheting I will keep busy!!!! And Norm did the shopping yesterday so we have plenty in the house. Before he went to work this morning, he took my car down to the gas station and filled the tank and he will be getting some cash to have on hand as well. Last big storm we didn't think about that and the banks were closed with no power and no way to use a card in the stores either. We don't carry cash as a rule anymore but need to remember there is a time when you need it!!!!! Keep safe Betty, Dianne, Thea and Debbie!! And check in when you can so we know you are okay.

Verona, ON

It is really snowing heavily now, wind is blowing, temp is dropping and the lights are flickering. Yep the storm is here!! lol I can't even see the end of the dock let alone across the lake. Think I will go back to bed and curl up for a bit. Diesel is already there, smart guy!! No Betty my cats are inside cats - they are allowed on the deck and don't bother to try and jump off. Sassy as a kit fell off a couple of times but I think she realized how far the fall was as seems to be very wary when on the railing.

Let us know when Norm gets home Barb, we'll all be anxious with you.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Yep, getting worse here as well, the worry is its light snow and if the wind picks up oh/oh...

Don't see many cars passing by, our road hasn't been plowed so Andrew waits until they have as to clear the drift of snow the plow makes..

Glad we in the north have everything under control re our needs..often think I should buy a generator but we've been lucky with no loss of power over the years..now watch us lose power. Lol

Sitting here playing cutouts, sure will be glad when I can start to put this eagle together..most of the work is done once the cutouts have been done so if any of you wish to try the piece I can send the cutouts to you for use then you can return them when finished..

Enjoy the snow day!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone!
Dianne, I bet it is comical to watch Diesel bounce in the snow like that! Glad to hear she is enjoying the snow!
Can't wait to see your eagle piece when it is done Betty! Amazing all the fabrics they print now to make all these wonderful wall hangings and quilts!
Please be careful in the snow if any of you have to go out!
Barb, I never thought of having cash in case the power goes out, nice idea!

Victoria Harbour, ON

same here LindaKay, never use cash and just assume I can use my debit card..although if it were a no hydro situation, the local stores here know everyone and I'm sure they would mark down amount owed and still could get what is needed..yikes, should have put gasoline in my car last night..was in such a hurry to come home didn't even think of it..

will fill her up when I go for my Husqvarna machine class in the am..only in Midland, if roads are bad I shall take my time and maybe I'll end up with a one-on-one instruction session

wish Bernie could have come today that way I could have ordered all the materials I needed.. have an idea what to do with this room but watch him say it's impossible, I'll just say nothing is impossible and know how creative he is and can do anything and that ought to stop the negativity..lol

Lyndonville, NY

Wowza, who dumped all this white stuff in my yard!!! Schools closed, not a lot of accumulation yet...but can barely see across the street. It was still
semi clear when I got up at 3:30 and ran down the hall. Now, nope....totally white and snowing/blowing sideways.

Dianne, Izzy went out and got the happiest look like "it's back!!!" and took a lap....but didn't stay out long.

DH & DD both drove into work separate as she had to make stops after work.....told him she will follow him home!

Stay safe everyone.....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Wish they would have driven in together Debbie, suppose to be worse as the day progresses..guess you are busy packing for Ohio..do you have any idea how long you may be gone?

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, from past experience when we took Jeanna to the CC, they see you first thing in the morning. Do an exam, check your records....and then say "you need this....this and this test". They schedule it over the next day or two.....you see the original doctor the 3rd or 4th day....and are on your way home. It was that way with my FIL also when he went. SO, I think we should be on way home Wednesday or Thursday at the latest.

Haven't packed a thing yet...but all laundry is done.

Verona, ON

Wise lady Debbie getting that laundry done before your power has a chance to go out. I received a telephone warning from Ontario Hydro advising me there was a good chance I would experience "power interruption" at some point over the next 24 - 36 hours. Appreciated the call but common sense plus having lived here for so long made me get everything ready yesterday in preparation of a power outage. Filled up 4 buckets with water for the toilet. Diesel is in seventh heaven - he thinks the buckets are his personal water dishes.

Definitely going to go joing Diesel on the bed for a nap. Hardly slept last night - maybe 2 hours.

Dianne

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Debbie, why were you running down the hall? You that excited to see the snow?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Debbie is always on the run..lol

Drats, Andrew came and did my yard, he wasn't gone 5 minutes that the municipal plow went by..am sure Andrew will be back.

Sneezing like crazy..think I will check the expiration date on the yeast, if still good I'll make a batch of bread.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sometimes I think the plowman is sitting down the road, waiting for everyone to clear the path, then they come and plow the road!

Lyndonville, NY

ROFL The bathroom is at the opposite end of the hallway than our bedroom!! LOL

Plowman has been going by every 15 to 20 minutes....I couldn't get out the end of the drive if I wanted too.

Victoria Harbour, ON

When you see large amounts of snow as we are getting it makes the $$$ given for the season for plowing well worth the investment!

Lyndonville, NY

My snow plower is at work!! lol I am not, nor have I ever been, allowed to use the snow blower. It is HUGE and DH being a big guy, has a hard time
to handle it in this type snow. Shane was trained the last two years...but the handle on it comes up to my chest. Not good.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Did Paul come home to plow?? Nope, don't you even think of plowing..

Andrew just came back and pushed the bank the plow made..guess with it still snowing it is easier if he keep on top of things, at least easier on the plow...
