Yes, it is really coming down out there, snow is blowing like a tornado...just swirling, and switched to come out of the North East.

Same snow pattern here. You rarely see a weather sustem come out of the North East but when it does occur the storm is usually a doozy.

Hope Norm gets home soon so Barb and all of his ladiesa can stop fetting about him.

Betty did you see on CITY TV news last night some downdown hotels were offering rooms at a 50 % discount? The one hotel featured was The Sheridan and at 50% off the roon was still $119.00 a night. Mind you it is a lovely hotel and I have always been made feel like a princess when I stay there.

Gee Katie you are probably sitting there smiling from ear to ear as you read about our storm. The Toronto news is calling it Snowmaggedan (sp?). My goodness when we were kids this was a weekly and sometimes daily event You too LK!!

Never did make it yet for a nap I ended up going for a walk with Diesel. It was a short walk though as I forgot to put my long underwear on. Brrrrrr!!!! Stayed clear of the lake and kept to the bush but even then the wind is just blowing so hard and the temp is so cold it wasn't sunstantially warmer in the bush as usual.

I've seen a couple of little nuthatches trying to forage for food but bird wise that is about it. Even they are hunkering down!

Well, when it is "decent" weather..it takes him an hour to get home. Since it is off the lake, he will NOT take the Lake Ontario Parkway home. Coming down
Route 104 will take longer. SO, depending on travel ahead of him and road conditions up there....I would say he should be here around 5:00 instead of 4:00.

Shannon was supposed to go with friend tonight so she drove separate. She has common sense (most days) and I think she will end up following DH home, or him following her and skip her plans for tonight. At least I am really hoping DH can convince her!

D not see that Dianne, but a great offer, however, not so sure most would have $$$ to spend on a room at that price. You are so right, when younger it was nothing to have worse than this for 3-4 days. Am sure school kids are enjoying the extra day off.

Maybe Debbie she could leave her vehicle and commute home with Paul..you are always on the road so am sure one of you could certainly drive her to pick it up another day..

Think everyone stayed home today, only had 1 call..

Betty, she can't leave car, she works at Target (Amherst) on weekends and needs it. DH's work is other way, up in Rochester.

My darling son does not have any clothing for cold weather, other than what the Navy has issued. A very nice wool P. coat. but it can only be worn when in dress uniform? He will have to do some shopping once he arrives. He is going for a class, it is scheduled to graduate April 17th. Hope my Momma and sister will be able to go down from Massachusetts. I know I will not be able to get up there :( He said he was going to go to store today and see if he could find some warmer socks, and an ice scraper, as he might need that on the trip!!! He has never driven in snow, sure wish I could send his Daddy up there to give him some lessons.

Debbie, I sure hope they find some answers for you in Ohio. and I am sending many hugs regarding Shane. seems like every child has to go through some kind of "rebel" stage in life......Mine all did for sure !!! I know I surely did.

Oh Debbie, so glad Shane is home, let's hope he's decided the place to be is with you there at home! Know you must be smiling from ear to ear..bet he got one heck of a hug..when all this growing up drama is over and he has children of his own he'll just live you to pieces for all the patience you've had with him..

Lordy Thunder, not good that he's never driven in snow.Just has to remember, take lots of extra time, leave a few car lengths between he and driver in front of him, no touching brake if feeling car is a bit out of control and if a blizzard, wait it out!

I really hate snow Betty, and I don't think I have ever been more scared / worried for him in my life..... I was in a nasty accident long ago on ice I did not see!! and two of my boys ( the other 2, not him ) were hurt in a sledding accident......I REALLY hate snow!!!! I am trying to be calm, keep telling myself he is very smart!!! but I also know sometimes he does not have much common sense......and never having driven in it....you just don't grasp how easy it can be to slide!!!!

I am repeating over and over...he will be ok...he will be ok......and praying he does not leave until Sunday, so some of the roadways can be very well cleaned up!!!

I told the hubs to call him later and give him some driving pointers!!!!!

Im sure he'll be fine, good sense is what it is all about! But know as a mom you always worry.

Just spoke with Darlene, they have rushed her mom to the hospital, not breathing this time but 'celulitis'. She is quite worried! Told her to call me as soon as she decides what to do, think she is leaning on coming home..hoping not today but tomorrow I could make the airport, guess I could if need be today..

Meant to add, I've never seen legs/feet so swollen and black as I did when I visited with Mae Tuesday..to the point that the skin was breaking..would imagine its a bit more than cellulitis.

things are good and busy here...just pluggin along...Had the wicked ice/snow storm yesterday and awoke to a sheet of ice, lovely to look at!

Bahamama party was huge success, a very nice turn out. One of my guests was a good friend from grammer/high school!! Wow found each other on facebook and had a wonderful reunion!!

Dh has been quite busy all week, thankfully job site is away from home, lol...he ran me ragged last week!!

just typed a whole book and poof! so will just say I have had a crazy, insane two weeks. Had all of my emotions going into a tizzy, not sure if thats good or not! So ive decided enough is enough, get over it, life goes on.

Jake did fantastic in the Regionals, Took the Championship!! and that was with a sore leg! Now yesterday he was hurt again...Not looking too good at the moment, a kid landed on his foot and its pretty swollen and black and blue, so not good, this could mean the end but he gonna go and give it his all...Tonight starts the Sectionals, OMG he had a great chance to go to state...Well see, what happens.
Good heavens, he was stopped for the plates...I don't know, the cops are leary of any kids around here...asked him if he came from this street, he yes i live there, cops said well it looked like you came from so and so's house, we know what goes on there!...LOL, Jake said, yeah i know what goes on there too..but I just came from home, have to drive this vehicle for my mom, blah blah...Well they search him for drugs!! he was laughing saying they were wrong..said i am a wrestler, have no time to be getting in trouble!! They proceeded to search my van..left everything in shambles!! DH was so mad he called the station for harrassing jake with no reason! Well, i hope they leave him a lone now, gee wizz whats he suppose to do go way around the other so not to pass a certain house!..Jake said they were aholes all the while, just knowing they were going to find something on him...ahhh my kid just laughed, smart butte that he is! LOL he fogot to drive the miles and came home to tell us the tail in great detail...He is very animated story teller!! And with all that, I have no vehicle...in the shop again!
But have to say with the ice storm we just had, so glad as he can't drive in it!!

As for me, Im not myself lately....Just so mad all the time, mostly at myself...part of the reason im not posting, but I am reading and am winging up the prayers!!

Betty, The airport said all fights are closed coming in and out of here....so Imagine Toronto is also. Quite a few south are also as planes can't fly through this mess.

It is so nasty, for the first time in OVER 20 years...they closed DH's work and are sending them home (as of 1:30). So now I wait to see/hear.

Betty, Shane came in....said "Hi Mom....going to shower" and upstairs. Not a hug or anything. He is coming back for dinner so maybe will answer
some questions.

Judy, that did that to my SIL and his work crew for the railroad. Said they all looked "stoned". Joe said "We just got done working 12 hours in 20 degree
weather!" He also told them not they better have a search warrant to search the car! Thankfully they backed down. No, nothing to hide...but these guys
were bullies...just like Jake encountered.

Lots of snow still coming down, great day to be snide.

Wonderful that they let Paul come home early, by the sounds it's going to get worse before better!

Darlene just called, mom is resting..we came to if she wants to be home to check on her mom I'll fly down for the week and she will fly home that way I will be there to look after the furries and just maybe seeing her mom for herself she will feel better..options right!
