Oh Dianne ... sending prayers to our Santa Warren and you tonight. Please know we're all there in spirit ...
Debbie, please do check in.
I have 8 tomatoes in the garden ... blooms on 2 plants. I've been holding my breath with the past few nights. We've had temps in the mid to upper 40's. I have 16 extra plants and will be planting them this week-end.
Betty, we had pork chops, sweet peas and fresh corn on the cobb for supper. I had fresh sliced strawberries for dessert. We all 3 went for a much needed walk tonight ...
No snow for me ... It's pretty, but I just couldn't live in it. I'd freeze! I was born and raised in the south ... 50 is cold to me. LOL
Waving to ya Mary ... Your trip sounds fun.
Okay, I need to go find a book to read and toddle off to bed ...
Hugs&blessings to everyone tonight!
Best/Worse/What did I learn today??? Chat with friends
I am here, I am OKay just worn out. Actually took it easy today and just did minor chores needed.
DH needed PT so I stayed home and did the kitchen and a load of laundry.
Shane went to the doctor for his follow up. His arm is healing well via xray, cast fits well, and he goes back next Friday again. Was taken off the pain killers and just using motrin /tylenol alternating. AND....after being told to "take it easy" for a bit....he has taken up fly fishing! LOL Well, thats better that a skateboard, but still.
Susan, so happy for your news on help with the electric/power company....and prayers for the job for Bob.
Betty, same with you, sure hope the doctor was right. AND do not like the fact your BP is till high!!
I am heading to bed, just exhausted. Will be glad DH goes back to work Monday so I can get back on schedule and not on the move quite so much, only certain days.
Sweet dreams dear friends,
Debbie
(((HUGS))) To Suse and Debbie... My sisters... I too am sending prayers to Santa Warren tonight.
So interesting... the DSD's are hanging out with Hubs tonight.... DSD2 has some problems with her Senior Trip... she is asking me for help and actually apologized to me tonight for all the problems she gave me with past vacations....
((HUGS))
Mary
Mary - how wonderful to get an apology!! About time, doncha think?
Debbie - so medically busy in your household - I honestly don't know how you do it.....
Suse - yummy sounding dinner..........mmmmmmmmm
Mornimg all,
Going to be a lovely day in the neighborhood!
Nothing planned, just doing a few things to entertain myself, some of the gardens are saying they are ready for weeding, 1/2 hr here and there, no more than that..
Woke up a few times last night and said a few prayers for Warren and Dianne..both heavy on my mind...Dianne, am hoping you were able to rest a bit.
Suse, I should have eaten at your house, corn, strawberries are my most favorites..when corn is in I can eat for nothing more than the corn, yellow beans, tomato and cucumber ..you've got me convinced that I should find a corner in the yard and plant a few veggies.
How was your night out Susan, was it a tea or a beer? After the week you had I'm hoping you went for the gusto
Debbie, I tink you are completely exhausted!! Time to do things Debbie enjoys and not be the one that has to mend the world..no wonder girl you are not healing. Great news about Shane, fly fishing?? See that you are making use of that new dryer..bet there isn't a dirty oiece of laundry anywhere.
Imagine Lindakay is well on her way to the car show..nice that she and hubby have same interest in antique vehicles.
Mary, big smile here, bet she just about floored you when she apologized..and they say to beware of Friday 13th...lol. Would be fun bringing along the girlfriend..is there room in the rental to accommodate more...gee whizz, maybe I could join you. Now that would be a pair, Disney would never be the same...
Jean, although I love the sun I hear some of you spending most of the summer inside because of the heat/humidity and think I'll keep my 4 seasons..enjoy your day at the blues festival, anxious to hear all about it.
Crissy, after such a long hard week at the office, did you and Dave get out last night..best you take it easy this weekend, play in the garden, that will relax you.
Well, break is over..floors to wash, load of laundry and then I can play
Dianne...my thoughts and prayers are with you and Warren. Praying hard that the Doctors can make Warren feel good enough to go back home where he wants to be. You are doing such a great job caring for Warren and maybe now it is time that you receive a little break, so you can gather up the strength for when he comes back home.
Sending you all my love and many hugs.
Thea
~~~ to everyone...I am busy with the garden, greenhouse and sewing, but I always keep you all in thoughts and prayers.
Morning. I am on my way into the hospital to raise h$*&. Just got off the phone from my guy and he is in tears. Santa Warren is a tough nut and for him to be in this state has me steaming. Noone explained to him why they didn't drain his lung last night and put a chest tube in, he has not been given any pain meds nor his puffers. He is on the Medicine floor as Pall Care did not have a bed plus he has some serious heart problems just to top everything off.They would not feed him anythng last night because he was supposed to have his lung draineed and when they brought his breakfast in it was plunked on a tray way out of his reach. Even when asked neither W's or his roommates' trays were moved closer so they could reach them.We didn't want to admit him but were thinking he could get this all straightened away and he could come home in a better spot. Maybe I should have insisted he come home with me just as he wanted. I feel terrible! Heads are going to roll!
This message was edited Apr 14, 2012 9:16 AM
Omg that is beyond inhuman...when agreed that he would spend a few days healing you would have thought that special car would be given..sure hope you are still steaming as you are now when arriving at the hospital..some treat dogs better than our sick loved ones..
I'm all riled up..how dare they n this day and age do such a thing!!!
Just know unless things change drastically home Santa Warren will come with you..
Sigh and shaking my head..drats and more drats..now you all know it's not the word drats that I'd like to use....
DIANNE! That is just totally inexcusable...the whole thing. Much less bringing food trays and leaving them out of reach.... just inhumane...what medical professional would do that?
I'd love Debbie's take on it all..... Wish she could be up there with you.....I suppose we are all with you....but I really wish we were all with you in person.....
Thea - what gardening are you doing? Glad to see you post !
Deb... interesting about the fly fishing... what types of fish do they catch? I don't think they do that around here... but I think of that movie on fly fishing... was that On Golden Pond?
Susan - Yes "Bout time" LOL... hope you all had a blast last night...
Suse - what are you planting?
Betty - Jean and I need to get you down here for the Strawberry Festival :o)
http://www.lastrawberryfestival.com/
Model A Club show - headed there first then Hibiscus lunch...
(HUGS)
Mary
You all (except out Dianne/Warren) are all doing such fun things today!!
Mary, one of the days you will stop going to meetings and start fixing that antique car of yours. Lol.
Still in my nighty, clouded over, think soon it will rain..most exciting thing I've done today is cut a few pieces of glass for a piece I'm doing for cousin for Xmas..oohhh watching a bird across the street making a nest in the roof..that is not good..
maybe I should at least get dressed or should I?
Mary, I posted a note for Dianne on the other thread about Warren. My Mom worked and volunteered at Nursing home for over 20 years. I was there a lot, so I saw many things. One thing I saw was the way patients laid a massive guilt trip on the family/spouse to get them to bring them home. AND...when my DM was in the hospital, she did it also. AND I knew that one was far from the truth as these people were her co-workers who just worshiped her. BUT she wanted to be home.
ALSO, until I figured it all out....it would get me in there to feed her and stay with her more.
That said, I do not know the hospital that Dianne and dear SW are in. I do know it is the weekend...and sadly care really drops on the weekend as doctors are not in as much, tests and procedures are put on hold unless dire emergency. That held true up at the Univ. of Roch. where DD was for her treatments. We were admitted on a Thursday evening....and everything was on hold until Monday for her getting bone marrow biopsies and such. Just praying Dianne can find out and get to the bottom of what is going on with Warren as no one needs to be treated that way, if that is the issue.
Shane caught some rainbow trout yesterday, five of them! They were small so he put them back but it is a good learning experience for him. Not sure what else is in the waters where he is fishing.
DH is digging up my garden to make raised beds. I tried helping with my little trowel and bent the thing in half. Then we couldn't get me up off the ground and I had to crawl up the clothesline pole to get standing. Thank heavens for my past pole dancing experience coming in handy. hehehe We have to go get some "clean soil" before I can replant.
Debbie
Spitting out coffee Debbie, no doubt the experience of pole dancing would come in handy for many things. Lol
Raised beds would make gardening easier for you..is he using 4x4's for edging? Paul sure is looking after you.
For a split second Debbie, same thoughts came to mind
Have company, back in a sec
Had two beer (one bought by a friend) - cheap at $2/can
Just woke up - it's 11am!
Dianne - 2x4 and a bat - you do have 2 hands, right?! That is awful, in this day and age!!!!!!!!!
I hope by the time you're reading this that it's all straightened out, and your Warren is back home with you......
June just left,
Back to my thoughts..
Know when Roger was dying and having a time of it re frame of mind, he tried everything to get me to take him home..
Told him with Christmas staff was at a premium, he told me I had permit for driving bus and it could also allow me to drive the ambulance and that I just didn't want him home or I would..hard time convincing him his stay in hospital would be in his best interest. Let's hooe it's in part what Sabta Warren is going through and not carelessness on behalf of nursing staff..
Very difficult for Dianne...
Good for you Susan, to be able to have a few, you really needed to mellow out!
Dianne, sure hope you get things fixed at the hospital today.
Betty, you have D mail...
Betty - one thing I'm not doing is "mellowing out".
I know I'm sounding snarky, etc lately, but when I got home I was trying to machine quilt "in the ditch" and it sent me "over the edge". I was not a happy camper............... could not get my bulk of the lap quilt in the "throat" of the machine, and I was All Over the Place with my stitching, then when I tried to rip it out, I was pulling threads from fabric. Not a good time. No, was not because I'd had some beer - because the machine wasn't moving, the stitches were so tiny........
I'm grateful for the gov't helping out with this month, but as I don't know what will happen in the future months (re: Bob's employ), I'm unsure and fuzzy in my mind.........
I'm up and down in moods like a yo-yo..........
Surgery has not been scheduled and won't be until June or July probably. I will probably go to Ca. in early May to get my new-to-me ambulance; then return home. Go back for the surgery. I really need to get the ambulance and a computer.
I've been out to visit friends a few times. I'll be getting stuff for tv next week and I got a bunch of books today. Pain is still bad enough to make most things at leat twice as difficult as they should be but I'm hanging in. Had to have Tony help me change the bedding yesterday. The dogs help by jumping onto the bed whenever there is a gap they can get through. Tony was laughing so hard. Me, too, as the dogs think it is a fun game and keep at it at least doubling the time the job takes.
Our weather is warming up. Still very nice and the plants are taking off.
Didn't find my lost money and I will probably not pursue the Samll Clims with my former friend. Think I need to cut my losses both financial and friendship-wise to decrease stress. Pay more attention to my health. Still having problems with my right shoulder (reason Tony had to help me change bedding) and am very frustrated with pain and physical limitations. Taking one thing at a time as much as possible. Also took a get well present to Lily. Doing what I can for friends as a way of keeping busy and remembering I'm not alone, either in general or with health problems.
There's a fund raiser for the animal clinic coming up so I'll donate a couple of items to neighbor Dana for that. We are speaking but it's still a little tense.
Tony got a book shlef up in the living room today so I can put more stuff away!!! Hooray!!!
hugs to all, katie
OMG Dianne - I'm just now reading yesterdays post and todays. I would be flying to that hospital and raising he((*&%^% too!!!! There is no excuse for such blatant carelessness. I feel you almost have to be admitted with a loved one so that they get the care they should!!! I'm praying so hard for you both.
I finally got my appt with the cardiologist. It's for next Friday and I'm asking for prayers that this time I'll find out what can be done. I'm tired my friends - very tired.
Today was Brandon's first horse show of the season. We didn't stay long as I was having a few problems but at least we went.. I know it meant a lot to him.
Hope you all are having a good weekend.
Dianne - we had the same problem when my mom was admitted with a broken hip. She was 82. She was always so active, and this really changed her life and lifestyle.........
She wasn't getting turned, they weren't showing up with a bedpan when she rang (and we were there when it happened, so I know she wasn't 'making it up'......) and they said they were short-staffed (it was a weekday), and would we help. there were 5 of us "kids" so that's what we did - we went in shifts to look after her In The Hospital. They said people with families were often asked to look after the people in the hospital. Obviously she got better care after we took over.....
I often wondered about those with family who refused to look after their family members in the hospital, thinking that the "system" should be doing it..........
Oh Katie I am so sorry you are in such pain........ like Thea you need this surgery NOW!!
Rode in on my broom at the hospital and raised h*(). I was able to get in touch with the doc who is "On service" this weekend for the Pal Care ward before I left. We made arrangements to meet at Santa Warren's bedside in an hour's time. By the time I got there she had rounded up the doc to drain W's right lung. They were just finishing as I arrived - 3 full litres of liquid. Sample has been sent off to the lab and chest draining tube was to be put in later this afternoon. We were told W received no pain meds since being admitted as they could not locate a pump that had been Rxd by the Pal Care doc. Hello???? Only 1 person has the key and they left early on Friday will be gone all weekend...... doesn't make sense to me. SW fell last night trying to get to the bathroom. He had rang for help, a nurse had stuck her head in the room and said she was going to be right back.30 min later and no pee pan by the bed W had to go so struck off by himself. Walter his roommate called the nurse when W fell and I guess gave them hell for making SW wait so long. This morning Walter was telling me the care on this floor is very poor and from what I can see I would have to agree with him. I gave SW a shower while I was there as they didn't even offer him a pan of water, towels, washcloth to wash up. He had NO towels at all so I went out into the hall and just took some from a cart that was just sitting there. I am going to be calling in a while to see if everything that has been ordered by our Pal Care doc has been given to SW. If not I will drive back in and raise h&*^% again.They hadn't even supplied him with his puffers for heaven's sake. Someone suggested I take my cattle prod in with me.lol One of the things ordered was an air bed for Warren to lay in - what he is laying in now would be too small for me let alone a man well over 6 ft tall. It looks like it came from the Children's Ward.
Thank you so much for listening to me rant here and also for all of your concern and support. It means so much to me.
Will drop back in later and see how everyone's day progressed. You all sound like you are doing some fun things.
(((Susan))) I am so glad someone finally saw some reason and got that utilities bill paid for you. One little thing that is on your shoulders flicked off. Sure hope some boulders come off soon so you and Bob can get on with enjoying your life together.
Suse, so good to see you. How are your maters doing?
Dianne
Dianne - FANTASTIC that SW is getting Your care....... hope the hospital follows through, too.............. siiiiiiiiiiigh the things we have to teach Professionals is ridiculous! why aren't they doing Their Job, instead of getting US to follow up?! Really glad his lungs were drained.....
30 min wait to go to the washroom? I have trouble with that and I'm Not in a hospital.....
What happens in a hospital when a patient falls, through lack of care? Good for Walter to give 'em H*&^)
No spare key for a pump?!?! Shouldn't the person who left have someone to pass it on to? Or were they too incompetent to Think of that.......... Here's your new song for the day, Dianne "I am MAD, here me Roar"
Thanks for the hugs, Dianne - I hope the boulders come off too........ feeling unemployable, sitting at home, and that's not a healthy thought, I know......
Omg Dianne, kudos for you!! How on earth in this day and age can something like this happen?? As for the key?? Well I'm hoping that Monday morning you are at Admin office..surely to God more than I key exists and if not off to hardware, can't be more than $2.00 for a key..almost tempted to send them $10 and ask them to distribute to each staff nurse on duty just to embarrass them.
Am relieved though that Santa Warren had liquid drained, he will be relieved of much pain and perhaps get a good nights rest.
As for you, here we had hoped and prayed that you would rest better the next few nights knowing he is getting round the clock care...there goes that idea....am sure you will be more restless tonight worrying about him
In the hospital than you were when you slept little but could have one ear open.. Speechless here..
Katie, some times regardless if we are right and have methods available to us I.e. small claims court that it is not worth the energy or the stress..takes courage but in the long run its leaves you with a sense of peace putting it behind you.
Barb, what a handsome man Brandon is..just know how appreciative he was having you there and also knows just what an effort was for you to do so. So praying that the doctors will have answers..
Difficult indeed living with extreme pain..
Here's hoping you are not overdoing..sending a hug to Norm, know he would rather it be a timmies coffee but a hug will have to do!
I am at a loss for words......so I shall just send BIG HUGS
(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((( ))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
to every one
I'll take that hug Thunder and here's one right back at ya!!(((Thunder)))
Dianne, is Warren breathing better with the fluid drained? What a day...I hope you wacked them with your broom!!
Get some rest
Oh Barb your Brandon is one handsome dude. I am positive he was so happy to have you and Norm come even if it was not for the whole thing. How many kids have no one there to watch? It is such a simple act of love to watch an event your loved one participating in. When I taught and coached several teams I can remember my kids just beaming when their DGPs came to watch.
Called my guy and his pain pump is up and running. LOL at the idea of sending money so a second key could be cut Betty. I just might use that line when I visit the hospital administrator's office on Monday morning.
Betty how are you feeling today? Still have your headache? I thought about you when SW's blood pressure was taken - it remained at 85 over 54 and he is on BP meds. Have your meds helped even out your BP on a daily basis?
Mary how did your luncheon at the Hibby Club go? Lots of good food?
Dianne
Hello To All ;
((HUGS)) Dianne... you and SW surely did not need that horrible experience on top of everything else you are going through. Is there a competitive hospital you can use next time ?
Thank goodness Dianne you took care of things... but shame on those people.
Barb (HUGS) too... glad you got the cardio appt. Brandon is so handsome...
Katie - so wonderful you had Tony.... Hubs and I have the same laughs at Belle when we try to make the bed... she has to jump in and "help". I had someone once steal money from me (a "Friend")...and I just had to make up my mind to forget and believe that Karma would take care of things...maybe that's the route to take...
Debbie LOL Pole Dancing ! yes love those raised beds... Keep trying to get Hubs to make MIL some...
Betty - YES - if I were mechanically inclined like our Crissy I'd definitely take on the Model A myself. But did come up with a plan.... I told the club president (a friend of mine) that I would host the next "tune up" meeting at my house... and those great guys may take a look at my car and start working on it ! So looking for a date that Hubs ISNT working. I'll have to straighten the back yard and clean house, and straighten car port.....but at least there is a PLAN!
Thinking June or July so AFTER Disney.
You had asked about our Disney accomodations.... I had found a cheap Comfort Suites near Universal years ago... booked that for 2 nights...then we move to an Animal Kingdom villa. Will be plenty of room..... so excited !
Hugs,
Mary
Hi y'all!
Have mercy ... I'm one tired gal tonight! I raked and picked up leaves ... worked in the tomato bed and went to WM. We had chicken tenders for supper ... they're like steak to me even though they're bad, bad bad. You know how us southerners love to fry. LOL Anyway, 6 more maters done and still not through.
Dianne, so glad to hear that SW had the fluid drained off. Sure hope he gets some rest tonight. I pray you'll be able to rest easier just knowing he'll feel better now. I'd love to be a fly on the wall when you give them "what for" Monday. hehehe Mercy ... heaven help them.
Barb, it's so good to see you post. You've really been on my mind lately. I'll be sending extra prayers your way ...
Mary, sounds like you had a maavalous day ... LOL
Debbie, can't believe Shane is fishing .. How is he managing that?
Betty, how have you been feeling today? Did you say your weather was yucky?
Okay, I want y'all to know that I'm going to go eat a bowl of Blue Bell Rocky Mountain Road ice cream for everyone who's feeling bum tonight ... What's a friend for?
Will BBL when I finish to see if y'all liked it ...
:-)
yummmmmm - thanks Suse!
Great plan Mary for hosting the Model A Club's next meeting. *wink, wink* you'll get your car done up yet. Like I said excellent plan. Gee Mary I can't tell you are excited about going to Disney. lol Hope all goes well at your luncheon with your DS' GF's DM. Whew that is a mouthful to type.
Going to have a bowl of cereal (Frosted Flakes my favourite) and gasp = get this, I am going to go to bed early.
Sweet dreams everyone!
Dianne
Perhaps you should have a second bowl of that ice cream Suse it sounds like something I would love right about now.
That ice cream sounds really good! We can't find Rocky Road much up here anymore, once in awhile I can find it from Bryers.
Shane just has on a 1/2 cast...goes from top of knuckles up to his elbow, so he can bend that arm still. He has been wearing the sling I gave him from my shoulder
surgery so thats a good thing. It is his left arm that is broken....and he is right handed so that is another why he is able to do stuff.
I am just praying he is on the right path. We noticed he is no longer wearing his earring also, which I didn't mind him having...but maybe he got in with a different group of kids. Hopefully more positive influence.
My "raised beds" are not exactly "raised" but more boxed in the garden that was there, dug up and turned over the soil. He used landscape 4X4 timbers....and added about six inches fresh soil & fertilizer/compost/manure. So it isn't raised high.
Well, I have to go to bed. I have been in all sorts of trouble today.....
Sweet dreams, and just made my day knowing Dianne is getting some rest early tonight!
Debbie
Sounds like everyone has been busy today.
Dianne, that is unconscionable treatment. So very sorry Santa Warren was subjected to such inexcusably poor treatment. The quote below is from the Ontario Ministry of Health and LongTerm Care. http://www.health.gov.on.ca/english/public/contact/hosp/hospfaq_dt.html
"If you have a complaint or concern about the care you or a family member received, you should contact the hospital directly and ask for the Patient Advocate. If there is none, ask for the President or Chief Executive of the hospital."
I would settle for no less, and mention the media....calls or letters to local paper/TV stations with details of the shoddy care he received......and calls to your Omsbudsman for further action.
To all the rest of you lovely folks....have a sweet night and a lovely Sunday.
Bedways is right ways and we are all exhausted hee after a day of sun,great Blues music and lots and lots of people.
Jean
Jean this hospital has been written up so many times for shoddy service I can't count them all.One thing that I find interesting is that when I had my pit surgery the care I received was amazing. With my 2 knee replacements the first time the care was deplorable, the second time it was great. Now that makes ya wonder doesn't it?
There are only 2 hospitals in my area and the one Hotel Dieu is mainly for day surgeries, clinics and xrays. There are no overnight stays if you are going to be in longer than1 night.
Thanks for the info Jean. I am very aware of the Ministry's statement about care. I plan to be on the doorstep of 1 of the 2 hospital administrators Monday. I will not call nor will I make an appointment I will just appear and will not leave until I see someone. All that I can expect is a dutiful I'm sorry from the hospital, they are well known for that.
Don't tell Debbie I am still up, I really am off to bed now.
D
Mornimg all,
Misty here today so very heavy, sure if I was out in the gardens I'd end up soaken wet, only 7:13 so it definately can improve, here is hoping for the best!
Never you mind Debbie Dianne, I just saw the time and you were suppose to be in bed getting caught up on your sleep..I'm sure with the excitement of yesterday and worry over Santa Warren you are so wound up that you just can't sleep..can you take sleeping pills??
May your next post say you've slept like a baby and Santa Warren is in less pain and he had a good night's rest as well!!
Debbie, you will see a big diggerence this year in your plants having added new soil..timbers will make it less work as well, just think no edging!
Jean, how did your Blues Festival go?? Bet you enjoyed yourself but will be tired today. I haven't been out on a Saturday night in ions, sure do miss dancing.
Mary, how cunning you are..if the gathering at your house doesn't work then off to register in a mechanics course. I'm excited for you as well, being with entire family at Disney...keep saying one year we will do the same but difficult when there is extended family.
Thunder, so love seeing you post and hearing how you and the family are doing..what project are you working on? Haven't forgotten the pieces for the 12 month Christmas quilt, will get them to you.
As for me, the meds for high blood pressure have helped but doctor says its still high so has doubled the dose...as for headaches they have somewhat subsided however the pain in upper shoulders and neck is what is causing me most grief..stems from old injury and nerve casing damage..flares up every once in a while.
Weather wasn't the best yesterday, did nothing, or barely nothing..worked on stained glass for a bit, had several visits from friends and just stayed quiet. Today will be much the same unless sunshine comes out...
Gab in a bit
Good morning,
Ooooo, Dianne was BUSTED by the Betty police before I could even get up to scold her! lol
Betty, I think, until you sit down and stop "bending" over craft projects...that pain in the neck/shoulders will not go away. My Carrie has the same issue but from leaning over microscope and science projects in school. Now she gets flared up when too long leaning forward over something...gardening, sewing,etc. SO, sit or lay....put hot moist compresses over the area....and BEHAVE for a bit. I know it is hard!
Yes, garden should be easier to care fore, the soil on that area is very gravely and not too healthy. There was some tree there before we moved in, they had just left a stump which DH ground out at least 10 years ago. So hopefully this will help all grow better.
Feel like I didn't sleep last night, but slept all night. Need some coffee.....and will be back.
Debbie
Goi g to bri g a project to work Debbie that I can stand and do, ie cutting various quilt sizes..that way I'll be up and down and moving vs just sitting.
This morning been trying to do exercize in the shoulder..should help!
I think that maybe YOU slept all night but your body did not..hope your plans for the day involves sitting and enjoying the day.
Sky is getting darker but I think I'll dress warmly and go out and work a bit in the garden..have muskoka chairs on the firepit, could burn, that would be one less chore..
Think I'll then make a quick trip to Foodland and pick up a roast for supper.
Good morning folks
Dianne, I was relatively sure you knew who/where to go with the complaint, just know when that much outrage and anger is felt, some things slip our mind. My Mom was Director of Nursing Services for a number of years and I guess my view of nursing care comes from her. She took the role of caregiver very seriously...she started out in the Army Nurse's Corps in 1943 at Ft Benning....all of her patients were soldiers injured in combat and she felt a deep and abiding respect for them that she carried over to all of her patients through the years. From her point of view, what happened to your Dear Warren would be inexcusable and those involved would in most cases be terminated...especially the nurse responsible for allowing him to fall. She always said that when a person was in hospital, they were vulnerable and at at the mercy of those around them...and that mercy must be kind, gentle and above all competently considerate.My heart goes out to you both.
Hope you all have a great day
God bless your mom Jean..I for one know I could never do what they are asked to do, takes a special type of person! our Debbie would make a perfect nurse/doctor..her knowledge and compassion are a perfect mix.
I feel much the same for policemen/policewomen and firemen..what they see in their daily work day must be overwhelming.
Take that young 45 year old policemen who took his life last week, just could not take another day of it..
That being said,mthere are many who should not continue in these careers..those, giving such care if you can call it that to someone as ill as Santa Warren should be terminated. 2x4 also used on our gmt officials who have such cutbacks that leave few per shift looking after our sick and elderly.
