Jean - there is obviously malpractice by the hospital staff. My goodness - a premmie newborn is likely to have lowered body functions simply because she's so tiny and premature. 5 medical staff have been suspended...............
The Lord was watching over her. What a blessing!

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello to All !
Betty - we had a cool morning too ! about 65* and no humidity ! Huh Jean ! :o)
So sad about the daylilies... I feel that way when I lose plants too...I sure hope they get this diabetes under control... will you have to take insulin? I do think Chiropractic would help you too.... (chime in all !)

Jean - Love the japanese maple ! Now I surely have to meet you so I can show hubby "a Japanese Maple Thriving in our area". you'll have to fill me in on location, what it likes, dislikes....
maybe I can buy one and plant in a spot with your advice... and surprise him on my vast knowledge of Japanese Maples !?!!! LOL
Dianne.. ((HUGS)) to you and Santa Warren. How very scary. I'm so glad you have folks you can count on. Yes - I need to go on a morning walk. I've probably told you but Otters are my favorite animals at the zoo. Don't the puppies want to go play with them ?
Oh Katie - so glad you could drop in.... hope they get that scheduled soon...

Waving to everyone... I'll pop back soon....

TGI Thursday
Hugs,
Mary
PS: Betty - witchy poo has been more bearable although had her moments (ie, yesterday) but knowing I have "plans" helps me have courage to deal with her........

Verona, ON

Just checking in to see if Betty woke up and came online. Think I will soon mosey off to the bedroom to read and then hopefully fall asleep for a couple of hours. 10:00 am appointment with Pal Care at the CC tomorrow.

Mary how are your 'plans' coming along? Must be pretty excited that your Disney trip is paid for. Remind me when you go again? DS going to join you or is his face still in a knot?

Yep Betty I was the one who told you how to foil the globs. Makes it an easy job doesn't it? You ARE staying home tomorrow, right> I forget what time your doc's apptment is - don't get the idea you are going back into work after the visit.

Safe travels LK. Have a blast! .... no dobt in my mind you will.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Dianne, look at the time you posted, you are living on pure inner energy for sure! Sun is already saying we'll have a gorgeous day for you to drive into palliative care. Santa Warren will have to go as well?

My doctor appt is at 9:15..only takes me 15 minutes to drive..my decision to fast just incase he sends me for tests sounded like the thing to do last night, but this morning i am craving for a coffee. Should be home by 10:30 Unless I'm sent to hospital for testing. That will give me an entire afternoon to myself in the sunshine!

Dianne, newspaper at the door last night had an small write up...

MYSTERIOUS INCIDENT CLOSES OPP DETACHMENT

Police are not talking about an incident Tuesday that prompted the temporary closure of the Southern Georgian Bay OPP detachment on Highway 12.

All detachment and administrative functions have been transferred to the Penetanguishene community policing office.

Sgt. Peter Leon would not comment on the reason for the closure, but said it had nothing to do with contamination or any kind of structural problem.

He indicated he expects the detachment will be open for business again by end of week.

Soooo very hush hush!

Mary, how long before you think your plans will be implemented?
As for diabetes, I've never been diagnosed, this is just the I durance lab that notified my nsurance agent..said they would msure me if I got it under control!! Can't get something under control if you don't even know there is a problem..will see what my doc has to say.

Can't have coffee so I best get thinks done around here so I'm not tempted to have one

Hope it's a sunshine day in your neighborhood today!!

will get to maybe pull a weed or two for sure later today.

Verona, ON

Betty, Santa Warren has to come to see Dr. HArle so he will be one tired, sore guy this afternoon.

Sun is shining but there was a hard frost last night. Darn!

Will check in this afternoon at some point.
Dianne

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Good Morning and happy thoughts to you all.

Mary, tell your Hubby that Jap maples are very easy to grow and thrive here.....they must, I have 3 total and they thrive on neglect. grin seriously, all they need is a bit of shade from the hottest part of the day. They come in all sizes and varied colors and price ranges. They make great understory trees and beautiful specimen trees. Check out this video from my buddy Dan at LSU AG Center.

Good Morning...

OMG, Thank you Jean for letting us know the planet was Mars!! lol, told everyone and thought that was pretty cool!
Thought your photos were beautiful the other day too!! lol, forgot to mention it...Well hands on the hips, my ds decided to just get a new lock, said no time to try...sigh,kids, wallet was lost back in Nov...Great info on the Japanese maples too.

Betty, Good Heavens!! So glad you went to the doc!! i sure hope you give them a what for. This is pretty scarey and serious but now you canfinally get proper meds...Sure hope your having a beautiful afternoon off. I'll be doing some clean up today too.Sending (((((((((Arm wraps)))))))))))...What are you making?

Yesterday was our 27th Anniversary!! Went to dinner at our favorite Tuscany, was delicious.

Dianne, so sorry Santa W had such a horrilble fall. What a wonderful person your friend Steve is. So very glad you have his loving help.
Big gentle Arm wraps (((((((((((((((D&SW)))))))))))))))))))...Awe, love that you are able to watch the otters play!! Last fall when we were in Wisconsin. I watched some Beavers play around, it was quite fun to see! So nice of your neighbor to catch a photo for you!! Hope you give a try when can to upload.

Where is Debbie??? Hope everything is ok.

Linda kay, Hope you have a great trip...

Mary, Oh yeah, big smiles that you have all your plans for Disney!! Ohhhh, sure hope you'll get a Japanese maple!! Was going to say, Deborah lives in GA has 2 of them, so i would think they would thrive there as well. At the House DH is working has another one...I'll be cleaning out the bed it lives in...

Speaking of which, Got into a big argument with DH over plantings there!! Huff and Puff, He wants me to take my garden plants, because they will be free?? Grr that man...I said well didn't you budget in for landscaping??? LOL, not. But I will transplant a few things, mostly Hostas, Japanese iris's and maybe a Bearded iris! Also laughingly told him he could have all the Daylilies he wants.
But in the front, I want to put a few low growing shrubs, so told him now is perfect for that...Hands on the hips he says, well I'm not ready cause the front siding is not up yet, OMG, roll my eyeballs at him and try to explain that Nature doesn't care about the siding...

Waiving Hi Katie, glad to see you got to post...Hope your friend heals quickly, so glad to ear you have each other to find comfort with.

Susan, Wow!! A Miracle for sure about the Baby! So glad the parents wanted to see her.

Well, i best be getting outside, will check Back in a bit to see how Betty's appointment went!

Enjoy the day...Crissy, Hope This Beautiful Day is less Busy! Although might make day go fast.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Aww sorry I missed ya Judy. My pleasure on the planet ID...you can always tell Mars by the reddish glow....maybe why they call it "the red planet"..LOL Laughing at DH thinking you could "provide" the landscaping...sometimes they just truly stay "in the box"...tsktsktsk

Glad the links were useful...

Good thoughts to you all. Hope everyone has a lovely day.

We are working the Blues Festival tomorrow...gonna be a long day of great music...

Have a sweet weekend

Jean

Hi y'all!
Well, I'm behind again!! LOL Y'all sure do gab alot ... Grin.

Lordy Mercy, Betty ... I can't believe with all *that blood taken that no one has said a single thing about Diabetes. Either your doc or that insurance co needs to be sued. Sounds like we need to send Debbie up there to give them "what for". LOL

Debbie, you remind me of my sister ... Go git em, girl ... Grin Speaking of which, how's your crew?

Dianne, waiting to see what the DR says about Warren. I was so sorry to read about his latest fall ... I echo what everyone else has said about your wonderful friend Steve.

Susan ... I just pray you and your DH get a more permanent resolution ... I'm thinking positive and praying for jobs. Smile

Thea ... I surely missed something. I didn't realize you were waiting for hip replacement surgery? {{{ }}}.

Laura ... I'm missing you and "little man" also. Hope you're just too busy right now?

Congrats Judy on your anniversary!

Okay, waving to everyone who needs prayers today and to those I've missed. I need to find something to eat. I'm hungry! Will BBL to check on Betty and Santa Warrren.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon,

Back from the doctor's appointment..holy whaaa did he get upset!

Outcome

1. Blood pressure still very high even with meds so doubling dose

2. Pressure re shoulder blades and neck, very natural for the already
Diagnosed nerve casing problem..have new meds for muscle
relaxant and pain killers

3. Now for diagnosis by insurance company, he was not a happy
camper..in one year I've had my sugar tested and am at a 5. Which
I guess is great..told him I had fasted if he wanted me to go for more
Tests, absolutely not.. Don't have such a ailment..printed out all the
paperwork from the 28 viles of blood and had me deliver to my
insurance company agent.. said to have their representative call
him..that he wasn't incompetent and due to great grandmother
having it and going blind that he always checks it. In one year, 3
Times.

I'm relieved about the sugar!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Waving Suse...did you get out on your morning walk and enjoying some of that Florida sunshine??

Judy happy belated anniversary! Omg tell that hubby of yours to dish out some landscaping bucks..no destroying one garden to pretty up another..just not done. Shaking my head here!l nice flowering shrubs would be do the trick.

Jean, where is your blues festival being held? Crissy took us girls to Beall street in Memphis last year..we do enjoyed it..in fact believe I have a tape or two, should play them and pretend I'm there With you

Looking at the clock, had telephones switched back to me here at home, have 2 1/2 hrs left on shift so might just put my head down and have a rest...saving my vacation/sick hours for trips to USA. Lol

Was trying to get home quickly so didn't go to the drug store for prescriptions so will take a run once 3:00 pm chimes.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

This is a good Friday the 13th, for sure!
1. Bob got a phone pre-interview from Lowes - they are considering him for a part-time job. His benefits run out at the beginning of June, so that's good. This is the 2nd time they've called for an over-the-phone pre-interview, so obviously they are considering him for more than one job........ just waiting to see if they actually have one for him.
2. His truck payment is approved to be deferred until the end of the contract, so we only have to pay a $75 admin fee this month.
3. Our Gas/Electric Utility Bill is Being Paid by the government!! I got a call this morning, and they will let the utility know.....
Praise The Lord - and thank you for all your thoughts and prayers.......... bless you all

I'm "breathing" again, with all the good news. I'm not feeling so overwhelmed, except with relief!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

BETTY, BETTY, BETTY - you have some Great News, Indeed!!!!! I'm so happy for you - means your insurance company is incompetent, Not your Dr LOL Doing a Happy Dance, for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd like to be "a fly on the wall" to see the look on the agent's face when your Dr gets through talking to him LOL LOL
Happy Happy Happy Dance!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Omg Susan, that is good news..usually Friday 13th isn't the best for you! Doing the happy dance..with truck payment behind deferred it will give you the month to get back on top.. Now with the utility bill paid you will have to make arrangements to pay a standard amount each month so it will not happen again.. Big sigh of relief for you.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Seems we both have something to celebrate! Now if only bob would get the call for part time work.

Better put something in my tummy before taking pain killers

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

The the Heavens opened and the sun shone down....great news Susan...big hugs for you and Bob both...fingers crossed for Lowe's being smart enough to hire him...

Glad things are gonna get sorted out Betty...bet your DR is fit to be tied.

The Blues Festival is in downtown Baton Rouge. Am really tickled, Johnny Winter and Henry Gray are performing. My job is to keep them comfortable and entertained til they take the stage....a dirty job, but somebody has to do it...LOL

http://www.batonrougebluesfestival.org/index.php/category/lineup/

The following weekend is the Earth Day celebration...DH and I will be working that one too.

yes Betty - will have to pay something every month - the Big thing is that we will be watching our electric consumption - y'see, Bob thought as our furnace wasn't working, we'd use electric to heat the home. In the meantime, the electric cost had just been majorly increased, so we were running up a huge bill. Normally we keep on top of the bills, but it's difficult when usage and cost are spinning out of control for the $$ each month. We kept on top of all our other bills though. Other bills are up-to-date.
btw - we'd gotten our furnace checked out in Jan, put in a new thermostat (that was one of the problems) and now that it's working properly, we're using the furnace again. NOT electric as much.........

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh Jean, entertaining the entertainers how much fun is that! Did you get to pick what you would be doing? Must go through and see if I can findnphoto's of my Baton Riuge visit..really only thing we did was visit jimmy swaggart's ministry facility..in awe of the wealth spent to build it, then off to new Orleans we went.

Brrr sun is shinning but wind is up and talk about cold.

Oh Jean ... we went to the Blues festival in NO in 1998 ... had a blast! I have so many souvenirs from there. Fun, fun, Fun!

Wahoo Susan and Betty for prayers answered! Now if our Santa Warren just gets some good news ...

Betty, I didn't go for a walk this morning. The laundry monster was calling my name instead. LOL

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I am praying that Santa Warren gets some relief - the meds interacting on him is apparently (medically speaking, and I'm NOT a Dr) is affecting his moods. Y'know, you always see these "cautions" on the TV promos for meds....... scary, to be sure! Is he using his walker now? I worry so about him.....
Betty - when do you suppose you'll hear from the insurance co? I'll bet they're red-faced........ lol
If we had the $$ that Jimmy Swaggart used to build his "place of worship", we'd none of us need for $$ again, I'm supposing LOL

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

20 years ago DH and I volunteered to help out at the Blues Fest. We were assigned to the main stage, had a wonderful time and worked our feet flat. The next year we volunteered again. The music promoter handling the bookings was at the stage the previous year and asked the co-ordinator if he could have those same volunteers from the previous year...he got us and we have been working with him, time and schedules permitting, ever since.

We have heard a lot of great music and met a ton of really nice folks...some who have become close friends.

I know you had a blast at Jazz and heritage in NO. We were fortunate enough to work a couple days there also. Big Time Party Time...

There are a lot of folks who were "put off" by Swaggert's monumental use of money on both SwaggertLand and the "mansion with the $100,000 fence" that was torn down shortly after it was built because it was deemed "unsuitable" to the lady of the house....a new equally expensive followed.Lots of folks thought that money could have gone to much better use.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I agree - the $$ could have been put to Much better use.
SwaggertLand? my goodness, it sounds like a Christian version of GraceLand........ siiiiiiiiiiigh
"unsuitable" eh? Well, was that all of SwaggertLand, or just the fence?

Thanks for reminding me, Jean ... it was called the Jazz Festival ... It sounds like ya'll will have a blast, and they're lucky to have you ...

Now I'm off to figure out what's for supper ... I really do think of something besides food. LOL

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Thanks...I am just tickled to get to go play...grin

Susan, it was the fence around their private home that she had a problem with...the one in the Country Club of Louisiana.

Verona, ON

Santa Warren was hospitalized this afternoon. Be back later. Please send my guy some positive thoughts.

Dianne

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

(((((((((((Dianne & Warren))))))))))) You're always in my thoughts and prayers.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Know I was flabbergasted when I saw the marble and gold within his ministry compound..there was a book you could sign, depending on how much given..pages for over 100,000/under in increments of $25,000

Apparently is rotated on screen and once a month or so your name showed up. Wonder how many people with no $$$ for food helped build this dynasty?

Jean, you've been at it for quite some time..hope weather co operates for you and you get to not only work but enjoy as well.

Went back to town and looked for new gazebo, didnt find one I liked..got new meds, even picked up Kentucky fried chicken for supper. Already bathed in in Jammie's. Lol

Ann dropped in, she had been in the city since Tuesday, was at a painting seminar..got to her daughters late and Melissa's kitty attacked her..omg her hand was infected and swollen..she spent Thursday night at emerge getting meds!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Dianne know our prayers and thoughts are with you. Please take care of you, Santa Warren would want that.

Suse, what did you decide on for supper?

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Dianne, sending all the good and positive energy possible to you and Santa Warren. Do take the time to care for yourself also.

Thanks Betty...supposed to be sunny with a high of 84F. Should be a good day.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just broadcasted that it was a police ifficer who went into the washroom at the detachment and shot himself..did not say name or age..guess they will release details later.

Where is our Debbie?? Wonder how Shane is doing..get worried when she goes MIA

Victoria Harbour, ON

Is it only a 1 day event or entire weekend..perhaps you said.

When I was in town this afternoon went to several nurseries, home depot, Rona, superstore and no shrubs/plants..guess with nice weather we are trying to rush things

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Only one day event....it used to start on Friday night and run through Sunday night...economics and fighting for location reduced it to a single Friday night act and Saturday acts til 8PM.

I just got my Tomato plants and peppers yesterday, Betty. This year they are all in large containers...easier to keep them watered. We got 2 Celebrity variety for the table, 2 Sweet 100's to munch and dehydrate, a Serrano hot and a jumbo jalapeno...Hubby is happy...

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

yummmmmmm growing tomatoes! Jean, it sounds delish!! It will be awhile before I can, cuz we still have bits of snow on the ground, but really looking forward to it!
I see some of my daylillies are poking their green shoots up, and I have some buds on my lilac trees, so it won't be too long - to be sure, I'll need to wait until Mid-June to make sure there's no snow. In 2007 we had a major snowstorm the last 2 days of May........ enough to break tree boughs! lol

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

And that is why I live in the South Susan...just can't do the whole snow/cold thing...and I am originally from Illinois...same as Judy.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Dianne, sending lots of prayers your way. Please kept us updated when you can?
((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I almost moved to North FL in 1997, but it didn't work out, and my Mom said she was happier that way, cuz of the hurricanes........... so, guess I'm ok with the snow, cuz it's what I grew up with lol

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello To All;

Dianne... (((HUGS)) and Prayers... and thoughts. I know you will let us know what is going on but hope you can take an opportunity to get some rest yourself. If they have hospitalized him then you have some help taking care of him and a good time for you to take care of Dianne.....

Betty - so the headaches are the blood pressure, and Dr. is absolutely SURE you don't have diabetes....

Susan I am OVERJOYED to hear your news.... celebrate !

Judy - HAPPY ANNIVERSARY ! Too funny about DH thinking you could landscape the whole thing from your own plants.... Is the plan still to sell the house ? at one time you were thinking of moving, right?

JEAN! I emailed Hubby your comments about the Japanese Maples... we shall see... I do have some very tall trees and will watch to see where they cast shade... might be some good spots in the front yard. Hubs is a BIG Fan of Dan Gill ! But I think he is the one that has the radio show that hubs said is difficult to listen to....but we have his books.
Ah ! The Blues Fest ! how fun... wish I could stop by and see you :o)

Dianne... we head off on vacation on friday May 25th... DS and I did have a long talk last Wednesday. He said all the right things, as he is good about doing.
I have a lunch date with DS/GF's MOM on Monday.... hopefully can "talk" her into letting DS/GF go with us to Disney....it would be her first trip and I think I'll have more fun with showing her everything than my own kids.
will dmail you and Betty re: plans....

Tomorrow... headed to Model A Club show (stop by there Jean! Allstar in Prairieville)....then Hibiscus meeting at 12noon...

"foil the globes"....you might as well be speaking Greek !

Love and Hugs,
Mary

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Celebrate, eh Mary? Tonight we're going to our community club's Pub Night (every friday - cheap beer!), but think we may just have tea, it's free LOL However, we have friends who go there every Friday, and I would like to see them :-)
We usually have about 8-12 people who go, so we know everyone.

Baton Rouge, LA

Absolutely Perfect Susan ! You have a wonderful night.... (HUGS)

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I will do so, Mary - Thanks :-)
