Best/Worse/What did I learn today??? Chat with friends

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Hello Everyone!!!

Dang it's been tough catching up! Now I don't remember all of what I read and I didn't take notes LOL

Susan sure hope you get the help you need, I know how tough that is. It's hard to keep an open mind too.

Mmmmm Cooooookiiieeeeeeessssss, now I want some chocolate chip cookies.

JUDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So glad to see you post! So glad you had a great Floridian trip and got to see some of us! That's awesome!

((((((((((((DIANNE & WARREN)))))))))))))))

Lol Betty, I do things like that all the time, glad you like your tv, I love my big flat screen tv and no they don't take up much room anymore, you can even hang them on the wall now, it's awesome!

Debbie I hope Shane's right about you being all tied up in a knot, cute way to put it. I know he's still in pain, I know it's difficult to concentrate at school but it will get better.

LK Dylan is soooo cute!!!

Ok, going to try to see what I've missed lol

Glenview, IL

Hi...i am back!
Today was a late start for us...Yikes throws my whole day into a dizzytizzy.

Betty, you are too cute! So glad you and Debbie and Paul had a great time at craft show...ROFLOL i'm sort of surprised your not havinga tape messure with you at all times, I CAN picture your taking measurements of something like that. It sure sounds like a great project!! UH, Um...I think you will be using it for a garden shed though...Now are you planning to meet up with Mary? Oh my gosh, that would be so fantastic.

lol, St. Anthony must havebeen helping someone else, lip hanging out...never did find my wallet...Since then My house has gotten a thorough going thru and the only thing found were Gigantic dust bunnies and all their relatives, hahahahah, what a way to having a deep clean, sigh.
Sabrina and Nick did all the raking of the front garden, they said sorry mom, no wallet, oh well, but i never really give up the search...The only thing i need is my Tribal id...but i can replace that next time i go up north...

OMG, I did fix the phone number on resume...still put them out there, I figure, it is just not meant to be working for whatever reason...well, I don't mind being semi retired!! But the income would be a major help, not to mention my play money.

...Well Alissa is back with us, lost the job...Sigh. So we can use her laptop, when we can get aconnection, sometimes good and sometimes just aggravating.

The Baby quilt is about 90% finished!! i will be glad when it's done! however I've come to yet another Snafu...1. I'm in a creative rut!! not sure what to put in the last two blocks...and 2. The photos i want to put in the pockets are in my piece of *&^&*^ computer and i can't access them!!
So, I have worked on everything else. just finished the very basic embroidery touches...re;antenae for all the butterfly's and facial parts of the teddy bears...So now it's down again...I am thinking about moving ahead with adding the last row off sashing around the edges just to keep going...But Baby Brynn is in Michigan for a little bit, so i still have a couple more weeks...

Now Betty, how have you been feeling?? I sure hope you have gotten rid of those headaches....Maybe it was cause of the meds?

Saw everyone had a lovely Easter...it was very nice here too.

Lets, see can you believe, i just unpacked yesterday!! whew and now DH talking about going up north, so no way! Still freezing up there.

I also loved the photos...Been watching as my Day lilies and iris leaves are getting quite tall!! OH and our Japanese maple came back quite beautiful!!

At the other house, i need to go do some major pruning!! Weeded out the front and planted some grass where the old walk was...It's a lot of clean up yet to do...Will do some later today, cool but perfect for being in shrubs.

Have you started in your yard yet? lol it's still kind of early, but this weather is being so fluxual.

Time to get switch out laundry and Make DH lunch!!!

Can't wait to come see your Gardens, will make sure to pack Steves fishing pole!!

be back...Enjoy the day.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Judy, when was the last time you remember seeing your wallet? It may be in the purse you used before Florida....

Victoria Harbour, ON

lol Jean, think it's been missing since late last summer!

Hear of so many with Japanese maples that I'm tempted to look for one, glad to see yours survived. As for me Judy, have started spring clean-up and gardens, all raking done and 2 ponds up and running, now just the edging of the gardens and weeding to do. Must wait though to see what is plant growth and weed.

Was Alissa's job only seasonal?? Bet it's nice having her home again.

You'll be relieved to have the quilt given to Brynn..so much work into it..know how much time I put into Suzanne's and you've done far more detailed work.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening,

Looking for updates from Susan, Dianne and Warren and Debbie
you are never far from my thoughts and prayers!!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

We went in today to take more documentation, and they will make a decision on when & how much by Thursday.
I just got home from church ladies meeting and will call the utility to let them know that we're waiting for the answer so they don't cut us off.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Still hope then...if they wanted more docs that is a positive sign

talk about a headache here..already had bath,in my Jammie's, meds and laying down

Easy to have baked potatoes and wieners, healthy?? Not...but easy

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

yeah, apparently the utility has us set for disconnection on the 25th, and they want us to call on the 13th to see if Ab Works has paid them. Time to allow for due process, I guess.

I phoned the company we got my car loan from, in 2008, and two things - 1. apparently my car loan is finished as of May 2013 (one year earlier than Bob thought, but then I have a cheaper vehicle......) and 2. the loan company cannot move this month's payment to the end of our contract and just charge an admin fee to do that, Because I'm out of work. Once I'm back working, I can get a deferral........ sorta like the bank lending $$ to people that Have $$. They can, however, put it a few days later to allow for me to get my unemployment payment. So, instead of the 15th, they will auto-withdraw on the 20th............... siiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Ah, Susan, maybe not the hoped for outcome, which would make things easier for sure, but at least they were willing to give a little....better than a flat no. Chin up, hugs and good thoughts to you.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

That's the Utility that said they will wait until the 25th, so the agency - Alberta Works - has a chance to process the $$ to pay the Utility.
I will hear the decision tomorrow or Friday, but the Utility will give an extension to us because they know that the agency has it "in the works"

Lyndonville, NY

Susan, we had a credit agency for car loan offer us a "refinance" deal years ago. They refinanced the amount remaining, added it to 2 years (Instead of the one outstanding) and it lowered our payment substantially to make life easier. Dropped our payment over $80 per month.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Great suggestion Debbie..boy Susan the utilities sure like to keep you in suspense!

Cathy just called wanted to know if I watched the news tonight which I hadn't ..said a police officer had been found dead in police station, everything hush/hush..moved all station staff to alternate location until full investigation is complete. Flags at half mast..guess we'll find out more as the days progress!

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello To All ;

Betty - how tragic... let us know what is up !
Susan... great news on the car loan... I was listening to Dave Ramsey today (whom I absolutely LOVE !) and he has some great advice on his radio show on dealing with collection people.....it may be on his website, daveramsey.com but he was talking about negotiating pay offs on credit cards but he probably has other advice that may help.
JUDY JUDY JUDY ! I swear I think you bring oxygen to the room when you post... so much energy (HUGS) wow in Kississimee you were right near my darling Disney ! Paid off our trip TODAY ! YAY! Great to hear all that has been going on. I agree on the karma thing with the job. "If it was meant to be". Too funny about work... had NO ONE I knew there when I started now working with 3 people who I've worked with before... LOVE Japanese Maples but hubs said I can't buy/plant one UNTIL I show him one in our area that is thriving....
Oh Betty - YES we Must meet up if you come this way. I can drive to New Orleans and get you and bring you to visit Jean. Maybe she will meet me then ! (HUGS) LOL...... Please don't tell me you are having headaches again....

Jean - your blooms so pretty... and much earlier than mine. I have one yellow canna, orange is about to bloom. daylilies about to bloom. this rain today, may make the whole yard burst tomorrow.....Love your red canna....we have the red leave one but may have to steal a red bloom one from MIL.....

I'll pop back in a bit... (HUGS)
Mary

Victoria Harbour, ON

Brrrrr, cool morning but looks as though it will be a sunshine day!

Dianne, bet you have the wood stove going and both you and Santa Warren are toasty and warm..thinking of starting my vehicle and letting it warm up... Sending prayers and hugs your way.

Mary, I wear a sad face when you talk of your Lillie's! After visiting with Bev I came home and bought about 15 different ones, many orientals but then that terrible lily bug came to our region and I lost everyone of them..didn't come back last year so doubtful they will revive.

Time to get a move on..

See Mary, you are such a joy to be around that co-worker follow you to your new employ..are things getting any better with the witch?

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Good Morning

Hope you are all up and roaring today.

Mary, the pics below are of my Bloodgood Japanese Maple...it has been in the ground for almost 11 years now.

Ok, off to a really good start here - lengthy post has one into thin air.

Morning hasn't started so well -. I awoke to bloodcurdling screams from Santa Warren. Thurn out SW deiced to try to go the the bathroom without his walker or my help. Found him in a heap on the dining room floor. Appears to be nothing broken but will reassess in a little while. I didn't fall alseep until about 5 am this morning as his meds have been making him squirrely the last few days. Very delusional amongst other things.

One good thing is that SW saw our GP at 9 am yesterday and by 2 pm oxygen was seet up in the house for him to use. That's a relief to us both.

I'll come back and try to recreate my post in a bit. Am thinking with all their falls that perhaps SW and Debbie are somehow related...lol
Dianne

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Dianne, sure hope nothing is broken! Maybe you can have an aid come to the house to help out?

Verona, ON

We have thought about that idea LK and discussed it ad nausem. SW is such a private person he cannot stand the thought of a stranger coming into the house. We have a good friend who has come a couple of times to stay when he finishes work at midnight. That has helped me get some sleep on the nights he is here. It is not fair to Steve though as he has a young family and a very stenuous job. It was him that offered to come but I don't want to take advantage of him. You know you really find out who your friends are when times such as this arise. Steve who was basically a casual friend has turned into the son we never had.He comes at least once a week to do anything that I cannot do or fix and if there are no chores he plays cribbage with Santa Warren. If I hadn't been able to get Santa Warren back up on his feet this morning, Steve would have been here in a heartbeat if called. I cannot tell you how much we appreciate his support and friendship.

Now you all know I am computer illiterate but how do I get some pictures from an email posted here on this thread? A neighbour sent me pics of the otters who swim right in front of our dock and house everyday. They like to play on the big, flat rock where I take the dogs into swim. They are really funny to watch, and ever so playful. Mary you would have screams of delight and joy if you get to see them on our walks.

Dianne

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Dianne, you have to save the pictures to your computer, in a file called "my documents" or "my pictures". Open the email, right click and click on save picture as... then save it in one the places I mentioned. Then when you want to post it here, click on the "choose file" button, then on the place you saved it to. It may take a minute or so to load, so don't click off the page till it is done.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Dianne, no truer words have been spoken "you learn who your friends are" and it is usually the mere acquaintances that come to the rescue and remain friends throughout your lifetime. I've come to the conclusion that close friends see we are not immortal, see the pain and suffering and its easier to stay away!

Thank goodness for the oxygen, that should help..guess in his present frame of mind he doesn't realize the harm he could do in trying to be independent.

Worried about you and lack of sleep...you are eating though?? Sure do need your strength.

Glad you have Steve!!

LindaKay, realized I had Victorian santa fabric set out to mail with the strips and forgot..will make sure I do it. What are you up to today? Still hot and humid?

Nicest day this week will be tomorrow..have dr's appt in am then I might be able to play outside

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

It is 70 already this morning. We had a nice rain go through last night, so all the flower pots got a nice watering. We are going to Austin this week end, for a huge hot rod show. Leaving tomorrow, and will be back Sunday afternoon. Hoping to find some good food too while we are there, and of course a fabric shop or two...
Hope that Dr. Appointment is for your headaches? Hopefully you can get your meds adjusted and make them go away?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sounds like a lot of fun LindaKay! Nice to get away..

Bet everyone is thrilled to get rain..flowers especially.

The pain I'm experiencing the past few weeks likely aren't do to high blood pressure..different type..I've always had trouble with casing on the nerves in my neck, lots I shouldn't be doing but do..almost like pinched nerve..feels as though I'm carrying 500 pounds of weight on my shoulders..not good today, should really have stayed home.

mulege, Mexico

Didn't find my lost money but the purple climbing beans are starting to produce so at least I won't starve.

Neighbor Dana is not speaking to me which means no "helpful suggestions" or criticism. I hope we get back on speaking terms but have no regrets about finally speaking up.

Took lemons to my two neighbors who have restaurants by the sea. Had a nice visit with Lily who had a plate put in her hip a month ago and is still using a walker and feeling very frustrated. We compared notes on having so much pain/frustration that we cry.

No word on when my surgery will be.

Big hugs and prayers for all, katie

Victoria Harbour, ON

I'm home, couldn't take the pain and finally gave in..not often I do so but sometimes it's the smart thing to do.

Katie nice seeing you post, what I wouldn't give to be down near to ocean with you..I could share some of my pain and cry stories as well. Only a matter of time now that Lily has had her operation that she'll out jogging minus the pain...now your turn.

Drats on the moola, had hoped you would have found it.

Someone from dg years ago sent me pole beans, purple leaves, omg had such lovely flowers on the vine. Must have kept some seeds somewhere, but where?? Should have a few years ig gathered seed, every year I say, won't put them where I can't find them but each year the hiding place gets better!

Off for grilled cheese, hot chocolate and drugs

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

(((((Dianne)))))) how scary to hear your Warren screaming in pain.......
How is he feeling now? So blessed of Steve to come to your aid, without you having to ask. True friend, indeed......

ah yes, we have blessed RAIN - glad the growing things are getting it. I noticed yesterday that our lilac has leaf buds!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

My insurance company just called, last month I cancelled a life insurance policy I had that went from $36 to almost $200 a month, in 5 years triples

Called my house/car insurance company to get insurance, did some testing..just called, said no insurance, seems testing shows I could have the start of sugar diabetes..of course if I want to pay premium over $100 monthly for $25k they would..no sense because if anything came up they would say due to high blood pressure, sugar eTs..what could I possibly die from that they would pay out...insurance, got to live them!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

omgosh, Betty - sugar diabetes?!?! Yes, what Would they pay out for.......... ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Seems only the healthy and rich get the insurance and $$ I'd laugh if it weren't so sad......
and just last month you cancelled....... what lousy timing, eh? I know, it doesn't help to say that, but still......
and sugar diabetes gives you that kind of pain?

You all need to see this miracle baby!

Betty, the doctors office said you were showing signs of it? Well...how many times have you been to doctor? GRRR!

http://diabetes.webmd.com/guide/understanding-diabetes-symptoms

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Good afternoon y'all!!

Oh Dianne I am so sorry about SW! I hope the oxygen helps him.

Betty that's not good, be careful with that, find out if it's type 1 or type 2.

It's been busy here at work today, I didn't order busy, did anyone order busy for me?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I ordered busy for me, but guess it boomeranged to YOU........ soowwwwwy...........

Victoria Harbour, ON

Debbie, not the doctor's office, back this winter they took I believe was 28 viles of blood if you remember, when I went back to get results dr. Said he had almost 2 doz. of result pages saying I'm as healthy as can be..was upset about that one because I don't need a doctor to tell me I'm sick, then NOT to??

Then recently had urine and blood test done by my insurance because I wanted to get a death policy and it's them saying bad results. My appt tomorrow morning is at 9:15 so just incase I can get blood/urine test at hospital I'll fast as of midnight to save having to do so again...but before I do I'll have my doctor check to see I'd indeed they checked me for such things when doing the 28 viles of blood..

Oh well, high blood, now sugar, muscle pain. Lol. Falling apart I am..just going for bath then lay down and watch tv...a night to relax

Victoria Harbour, ON

Susan, lol. Don't send busy my way..don't want it..

Busiest I've been today was foiling alleys for a stained glass piece..

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Did anyone see the video of the Miracle Light baby? (above)

Verona, ON

Betty you get some answers about that sugar matter. That could explain a lot of things that have been happening in your body. (((Betty)))

How do you foil the allies Betty? They can be a pain to do!!

Crissy good to see you. How's tricks?

Laura, where are you? How is the little man doing?

Thunder I was so glad to read that your DH was doing so well.

Betty what town did the shooting in the police station take place. DIdn't see anything on online news.

Rain forecasted here for a few days. I sure didn't need to read the forecast my old body is telling me. Katie you jpoint work that way too. Sorry about the $$$'s. Hope it shows up where and when you least expect it. Did the docs give you an idea of time for your surgery? Our poor Thea has been waiting for a joint replacement for months. Not a fun time that is for sure!

BBL
Dianne

Victoria Harbour, ON

Drats, knew I should have put iPad on charger, Lost a long post!

Dianne,

It's all so hush/hush, haven't even seen anything more about it..they say a staff member was found dead (someone said a police officer) think that would be the case seeing mast is at 1/2.. Midland hwy 12 opp detachment staff are all working from Penetang until investigation is over.

Foiling alleys? Put foil around the alley, put into a container ie Tupperware with lid and hake the beejeebers out of them...take lid off and bice tight foil on them..thought it was you who gave me the hint?? Maybe the new gow to of stained glass books did

Don't know much about sugar diabetes..do know when I was little I'd spend time at grana's mom, she was blind because of it.

How is warren feeling his evening?

Susan, now that is what I call a miracle..if Lord can do that then shouldn't be too hard to fix hydro

Debbie thanks for the link..
PS. If you thought I wS in pain last time I was in buffalo you should see me tonight...boy oh boy..

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

12 hours in a morgue cooler and the newborn lives - no care, food or water........... yes, quite the miracle!
It's the Lord, for sure!!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

It was a shame, but the cooler temps in the morgue cooler are probably what kept her alive...slows down body functions....Milagro Luz is very fitting as a name. I am with the admins though....how the heck did she get there to begin with?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Such a high and a low for parents..death of a child and rebirth..
