Evening everyone.
Just got home after being called into the hospital at 3 am. There is now a chest drainage tube in so I have no idea when my guy will be able to come home. Still bummed by the care at this hospital.
I am sorry I have not read any posts for the last couple of days but plan to do so after I have a nap.
Please send positive thoughts to my guy.

Thank you Debbie Betty Susan, Judy etc. for the ((HUGS)) I do need them and they are greatly appreciated.
I do think she will try to move the date. I feel like a "heel" for her to move the date for my trip. She knew we had it planned but probably no idea what went into planning it, etc. Plus she had not marked the dates in her calendar. She has made it clear she does not want Grandkids to know about any of this "while they are taking finals"..... so we had discussed 'telling' them on Mothers Day.
So NOW.... I headed to the kitchen. And DS, GF and friends are in there....and they "Spring" on me that the Final Word has been spoken.:
DS GF CAN accompany us to DISNEY! Oh my heart and head in a turmoil.
Thank you all for letting me share... Love you gals.....
oh, She chose the date - guess she forgot about the trip, eh? Well, if she can move the date, maybe earlier and have recovery done by time you're to go, or afterwards and take as much time recovery as she needs with her DS and DDIL with her :-)
Yes Susan... I'm hoping later.... (HUGS)
yes, later would be best, so you can stick around for any (no, they won't happen!!) complications, and Just To Be There With Her.
Is it cancer?
And the best thoughts to you and Santa Warren, Dianne.
Mary, have DH talk to his Mom asap...agree that the surgery can be put off for a day or two, or scheduled sooner.
Suse...kind of a warm feeling to say"they know me there"...grin
Judy....just lotsa hugs for ya girl....keep saying it will pass....GRIN
Susan, I read that a while back...DH was telling me about it....we use it for tons of stuff around here.
Betty, how cool to be getting custom art work...I know you are tickled;
Hope every one has a calm restful evening
Susan... MIL has never used the "C" word. it was described to me by her as a cyst in her kidney, in an unusual location. The DR. said they believe it would be malignant and taking the kidney safer than removing the cyst. I probably need to do some "Jean type Googling" and find out for myself......
MIL is trying to schedule something so we can be there.... according to Hubs.....
Jean - she's using Ochsner in New Orleans...a DR. she has heard good things about... and was recommended....
Mary - here's what I found, about malignant tumours in the kidney:
http://www.kidney-mass.com/
Mary, one thing to keep in mind regarding the kidney, there are various tubes and areas that can be compromised...and even a cyst, malignant or not can do damage. My DD has endometriosis and there was damage to one of the kidneys and she needed stints put in for awhile. SO, do not get upset and worry it could be cancer...it could just be the doctor being very cautious. My cyst in my ovary was the size of a soft ball...but not malignant...but ate the ovary. SO, if the kidney is removed, it could prevent damage to other areas and organs.
BIG hugs
Debbie
Jean, Susan and Debbie.... Thank you so much for the info... I was afraid to research your information is SO SO Helpful....
She will try to get another date..... I sure hope.... ((HUGS))
Good info, Debbie - yes, I should have mentioned that this wasn't to scare (I ain't no Dr!) but to give more knowledge.
certainly there's more than one reason to remove a kidney (age is one, I suppose - lessens the possibility of more surgery if kidney is removed the first time)
anyway, not to borrow trouble, just inform ((((Mary))))
Morning everyone! Mary, sending prayers for your MIL, and hope she can change the date?
Dianne, sending lots of (((((((((HUGS)))))))))) and prayers your way! Hope you get some rest!
Judy, seems like your always busy with something, hope you get some rest too!
Betty, can't wait to see what the painting is?
Morning all..
Dianne, relieved to see your post..do hooe you were able to get more than just a few hours of sleep..I'm sure the nursing stagg will pick up their socks and give Santa Warren the care that is expected in this day and age..you being there to keep an eye will also help.
Mary, once the shock subsides and you all get your wits about you a solution will be found! One can live a healthy life with one kidney..sending prayers and hugs
Best I get a move oan, gab in a it
Good Morning, hope everyone has a calm day.
Mary, there are a number of good Docs at Oschner-NO. Age is always a consideration in cases like your MIL's. It is actually less stressful on her body to remove and be done....should it prove to be a malignancy, removing only the cyst could mean recurring surgery for her. Repeated surgeries are exceptionally hard on the elderly and most docs would follow that plan.
Continued good thoughts and prayers for you and Warren, Diane....I hope today finds him stronger and closer to returning home.
Waves to you all
Jean
