Booneville, AR

mekos the ground opchid you dent me has a problem the leaves are turning yellow what do i need to do. help nettie.

Probably just needs water and shade. I may be stressed out from the move and just needs a little time to settle. Seems it did that when I first got it. But soon it was green and blooming. Don't worry, it will be ok. I keep it where it can get full morning sun and shade from hot evening sun. I actually kept it in a pot because I was afraid I would forget where I put it and it would die. But it is pretty hardy and strong little thing.
Some of the other plants are hibiscus, and different colore and one is a texas hibiscus. It has finger like leaves and not sure if it is white or red but sure is pretty. Looks a little like wacky weed growing.
Then there was a few celosea plants, different colors. Those are colored at the tops. And a few other things but I always forget till I see the pictures of them. When they get hydrated good, they will start growing good again and you take a picture and I'll help you get names for them.
They should be ok in a few days but if not, I'll send you another.

Booneville, AR

Then AFTER you finish writing what you think the new plants should be named, then you can come to this link to chat about the plants.

This is just a reminder~~If you want to post names here on the thread I will add them to the list and post it in both place for you!!

This is for ALL you Iris lovers! We have a new game to play. It's called (drum roll please.....) NAME THE IRIS

Mitt is an IRIS grower and hybridizer. He grows some of the most beautiful Irises in the USA.
He has pollinated a couple new ones and they have big beautiful seed pods on them almost ready to pick and grow a baby from. The special thing about this is NOT ONLY DO YOU WIN THE SEED POD, BUT YOU GET TO NAME THE IRIS WHEN IT BLOOMS. It will be eligible to be registered and named by you as the owner of your very own IRIS.
Now How cool is that to have your very own plant to carry the name you choose. NO ONE else will have one like it.
Imagine being the parent of a pod baby!

Here is the link to see the parents of the pod.
The first pod was formed as a cross between MONSOON MOON (pod parent) and CHINESE WHISPER (pollen parent)

http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/168284/

http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/153597/

This is a link to the web site to show you about registration and how to go about it.
http://www.irises.org/registration.htm

The second pod is a cross between Coffee Trader ( pod parent ) and Temple Of Time (pollen parent )

Link to see Temple Of Time Iris-
http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/97188/

Coffee Trader--
http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/142477/

Now what happens is you play this game, you win the pod, you plant the seeds, you grow the Iris and then you name the iris for real. You register the Iris as your very own.
Now look at the parent Irises and think what the baby plant would look like in your mind and what would YOU like to name that Bloom. What name do you think it would look like?
So NOW go ahead and start picking names for (POSSIBLY) YOUR BABY IRIS!

THIS is the LINK to go to for CHATTING. http://cubits.org/MEKOSGAMES/thread/view/26068/#new_post

Lets keep this thread clear just for the names you choose for the seed pods.
You may post as many names as you like and GOOD LUCK!!!!!
