New bees chit chat - come on in!! 04/30/2010

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

You all ain't going nowhere with me and the longearred mule.

Awww, come on RRM. I'm repenting of my evil ways and helping this time. Least I can do.

Enid, OK

Ok girls, I figured it out. We won't have to go steal the irises ourselves - my nephew's wife lives in Philly - I can get her to do it. She is young and cute, bet Mitt would even do the diggin' for her. Poor girl, the kids got married in Sept. he lives in Canada, her in Philly. He can't find a job in the US that pays what he is making there and she can't find a job there. I feel kinda bad for them; it would be the perfect marriage for me - him in another country, just send the pay check - I would be just fine!!

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

You all too good to me, Enid I got a pkg. Have you?

E N I D ! (mouth open-I'm in shock! Secretly thinking ... great idea!)

I guess this means RRM is on our side.... haheheheLOL

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

I not going to steal plants!!! Mama would jump out of her grave and come looking for me. she'd whip my butt. She taught me if I stole I'd get beaten.

We not going either, RRM. Calm down, I'm reformed! I'm being good. I don't have anyplace to put more plants outside any hoo. Half my stuff is still sleeping and the ground is already covered with new plants. The old ones are gonna be crouded out if I put more in there. Chill out girl. Listen to Nettie. Take a chill pill. I never stole anything in my life. Just thinking about it got to me. But IF I was going to it would probably be for that Iris. I can see me in jail now and the newspaper reads, OLD bat from SC, jailed for Iris napping. OH the shame of it all. I'd probably get kicked off DG and cubits and all my plants dry up cause no one would water them for me and look where I'd be then. NOT stealing flowers!

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

I know that's right but we sure don't want my Momma coming after me ☺☺ I know it. I'm cjilled, must be thos snowballs coimg out of the freezer☺☺♥ Be good, Mekos Charley is counting on you.....♥

Give Moma one for Mothers day and she won't see or hear anything-hehe

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Honey , My Momma was a tough old gail in her day and I sure do miss her and Daddy too.
I hope you all have A Wonderful Mother's Day. Best to all of you. ♥♥

You too little buddy. Love you. My Mom will be 86 this august and Daddy passed on a few years ago. Once a month I have a florist send Mom flowers. She loved to garden but can't any more and has alzheimers and can't remember me in person but knows she has a daughter named Janice so when she gets her flowers,She calls everyone she knows a dozen times over, to tell them about her pretty flowers. Then they all call me to tell me how much she loved them and how many times she called them to tell them. Haha She don't remember telling them and does it over and over. Gotta love the Moms.
You have a great weekend.

Philadelphia, PA

I see that Seray has abandoned me and that erid has a plan to "divide" the irises 4 ways. You girls have to get up pretty early to pull one over on me. I know your every step and all the plans you have up your sleeve

Today we're having winds gusting over 40MPH. It's supposed to last thru the weekend. The stalk are tossed about but a large number are knocked over. I haven't tried to pick them up they'll only fall down again tomorrow.

Oh, poor babies! But since our snow is almost melted, I still think they are lovely, Mitt! (Can you tell I am desperate for spring, LOL!) Sure hope that the few I have won't have to go thru that when they do finally get that far into blooming. But, seriously, I really do think they are still very pretty.

OH NO!!!! BAD WIND!!!!
Who is telling those tales of someone trying to get irises? I don't know of any attempts to take irises. What irises? Not those you have Mitt?!?

Philadelphia, PA

I think it's La Scala.

How many pages do you have for your list now Marti?
Can you say "Iris Virus"?

Somerset, KY(Zone 6b)

So far I have a notebook with three pages of names. YES!! I have "Iris Virus"!!!

I noticed that every iris pic I post you say its the prettiest yet Mekos.

What's a guy to believe? I think you need to go outside and rip out all those daylillies to make room for irises. You may have a touch of the "Iris Virus"

Here is the actual vine I got a couple days ago. Stictocardia vine

Well now, don't tempt me Mitt, now that I've seen all those beauties. I'm sure Seray would like my old daylilies! I bet she would have just the right place for them.

Booneville, AR

mit gave us all iris virus now he needs to come up with the cure and it better not br a pill i have to take too many of those now and i can.t stand the thought of haveing to take another one.might mean he will have to start deviding iris and sending yhem out to sick people this might be better than stealing and no jail time/ now enid don.t go and get all excited just whine alot love you people i think we are all crazy. love littlenettie

I agree Nettie. I think Mitt should do just that. I think we should get to pick our favorites too. It's his fault.

I got to get sweetie pie down to sleep, so good night all. More pictures Mitt. Lets see you top that last one.

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

Happy Mothers Day everyone....oh buy the way, I hear there is a virus running rapid in PA its called the Iris virus...be careful

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Mitt has the cure. I may have to give in too. He does have beautiful Iris. Love them al. Mitt, you got a Green Iris??

Enid, OK

Ok Mitt, I sympathize with the wind issue! We have lots of wind here in Oklahoma - guess I will leave your irises alone for this year - you have enough trouble with Mother Nature - don't need me tromping around in your beds.

Hope all you ladies have a wonderful Mothers Day! May it be filled with love and beauty!!

Sundance, WY(Zone 3b)

Happy Mother's Day, ladies! Hope you all have a great day! DH and I are going to spend the day with our Moms and help them with a few little tasks they want done. Fortunately, they both live close, so we get to visit and see them easily. I got my present yesterday, as I got to babysit the wonderful grandbabies! Getting to spend the day with grandbabies is the best present ever!

Where's our resident princess of darkness? Cue? Yoohoo! She's love the dark ones. They are all fantastic MIt. Can't say I've ever met an Iris I didn't like.

Philadelphia, PA

This has a greenish tint to it, RRM

I beleive we like all of them. I like the Red better but that is o.k. Mitt. Mitt, do you breed them? I have a yellow and a dark purple, I'm hoping they will cross. That would be different. Especially the two I got.
