Happy Mothers Day! Hope you have the best day ever!

Love the dark ones Mitt! And the light ones!!! LOL

Happy Mother's day everyone!
Hey Mitt, I love them all but these last ones are not as good as the other ones I pointed out was the BEST! Those you better keep under lock and key. You never know when a big bird might swoop in and get some.( Especially after a mojito binge.)
I've never seen so many beautiful plants from all you gardeners. I never met an Iris I didn't like either so go figure.
Hope you having a better day today Little Nettie.
It is sunny and cool here. Suppose to be around 70 by evening time and no winds, just georgeous! I'm spending the day with my little angel and Husband. Kids came yesterday and brought me flowers and bulbs and a water fountain for the table top. And this morning I got a message from the kids with a picture of a rose and music playing telling me they loved me. So I got the best day ever. I'm just thanking God and counting my blessings. Love to you all.

seray,

Do you have any cuttings from that rose? I have that rose on my want list.

I just pruned it a month ago Marti but I'll send you some when I do it again if you want. It's blooming up a storm on my trellis. Remind me later this summer. I'll look to see if I can pin a cane on the ground. That's about the only way I can get them to root.

Somerset, KY(Zone 6b)

Thanks seray. I would really love to add that rose to my garden.

You're welcome.

You got the loveliest blooms of all Robin.
Jan your arrangement looks just fine to me. Wish I had so much blooming at once here.

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

What wrong with that? NOTHING, they are beautiful. i know they smell heavenly.

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

Nice kiddos Robin!

Jan - your arrangement looks as good as any I've seen in a floral shop. Good job!

I'll try and remember to post mine tonight. My 10 year old bought me flowers and we arranged them;o)

How sweet, Loca.
Thanks everyone for the comments. I never have many blooming at the same time together so I cut some from all around and put them together. They do have a wonderful smell.
Enid, got the lily bulbs, thank you so much. I put them in my memory garden with all the plants from my friends here.
Found some dill about to bloom there also from last year. So far dill is the only one I see that came back. Lost the chocolate mint and orange mint.

Booneville, AR

mekogirl you are a natural you make the flowers like to be cut any time they look better in a container than thry do out in the yard they look lovely i like trhem alot look better than anything ive done in awhile love littlr nettie

Thanks LittleNettie. The yellow round ones are weeds but pretty weeds.

Anyone around here grow bog gardens?
A new game in the making! Anyone interested?

Enid, OK

I'll play IF you don't yell at me for being a murderer!

Now, let's get this straight from the start...my bog needs to hold water right? Can I use an old turkey roasting pan?

And I need rain water right?

Don't start yelling at me yet, we all know I am CP challenged!!

sounds fine to me, Lori.

Somerset, KY(Zone 6b)

How do you do a bog garden?

Lots of ways Marti. It is easy. Use peat moss or Spag.moss or both and add water from the rain if you are useing CPs or Sundews, the chemicals in regular water will kill them. Then add the plants like venus fly traps ,pitcher plants, sundews and so on. Lots of different kinds of plants to go in them. The bog garden can be any size you want. Make sure the plants are cold hardy for your zone and you can leave it out all winter but if not hardy bring in to back room or garage or greenhouse.

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

My CPs are suffering from lack of rain water - lol... I've been using bottled water or tap water that I let sit out for a while first. I think they would do way better with rain water though...

Take pictures before they croak! Hahaha
Sorry, couldn't resist that little buddy.
My chicks are hatching today. I got 7 out so far and a few more pecking away at it.

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

Very cool on the chicks mekos! I can't wait to get me some!

Real funny about my poor CPs...

Here are the first 6 to hatch.
Sorry about the CPs just couldn't resist the chance to bug you a little. hehe CPs need "bugs"
hehe little pun intended.LOL

Sundance, WY(Zone 3b)

Ok, since I don't have a bog garden, will somebody tell me what CP's are, please? If it stops snowing, I'll brave the weather and go out and see what I can find in the garage for a bog garden. Could be that I just might be interested in that one, especially since I need something to fill in a spot or 2 in my yard.

Carnivorous plants. Like venus fly traps and pitcher plants and sundews and such.

Sundance, WY(Zone 3b)

OMG, duh! I can be so dense sometimes. Thanks! Now I will check and see if I can find any plants that will work in a bog garden in my part of the arctic, oops, I mean, my part of Wyoming!

Well, you know other plants do grow in bog gardens as well so they can also be included. Like EEs and cana lilies, and japanese iris and paruvian daffodils and such. Anything that likes to grow in a bog can be added but the main part must be peat moss and Spag.moss and CPs. It will be judged on appearance like decoration, presentation, over all appearance and how well the plants look.( Living or dead.) Preferably living!

Enid, OK

Oh man, I'm out if you are judging on only living plants! I should get credit for the attempt at least!!

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Then you should do Great with the Deadplant department, Enid.

Give it a try, yours couldn't be more dead than mine. I killed 2 sundews. Got a red one and it looks much better now.It made a baby already and looks fine. I got pitcher plants and a cobra plant. Those are the CPs and I got another bog garden with stuff in it too that is not CPs. I'm trying to think of ways to combine them and still be nice.
Did we run Mitt off threatening to iris nab his iris?
Mitt, come back! I love the iris pictures. I miss them. Come back!! We won't nab your irises. I promise we won't.
