Have fun at the flower show, Nettie. Good night.

Oh, I love flower shows! Have fun Nettie! Can't wait to see the pictures! Good night all!

Have fun at the flower show, Nettie. Good night.
(Love the rain lilies.) Pictures too. lol

Sundance, WY(Zone 3b)

Good morning all! Mekos, I just found out we are under a "Winter Storm Watch" until Friday! Forecasting up to 6" of snow with wind! Any ideas on how to ship some to you? And can't they at least call it a "Spring Storm Watch" even if they are forecasting snow? At least I'd feel better then. LOL Sure hope that doesn't mean those of you who have been getting all the rain won't be getting 6 inches more rain. My heavens, not what you need!

So sorry Skellogg. I know you want spring. We need to switch places for winter. I go there till spring and you come here till spring. Then we trade back. I could like all that snow. Then come home to my georgeous flower blooms. Have a great day everyone. Drink lots of hot chocolate and roast some marshmellows, Skellogg. Throw in a few cheetos and you'd be ok for a while. LOL

Sundance, WY(Zone 3b)

Arghh! I'm going to need a greenhouse! Anybody have the winning lottery numbers? I am being over run inside the house with plants that need to go in the ground! But hate to put them out now, with this forecast, so even have the hardy ones inside, even the peach irises. Everything is just getting potted up inside. LOL! Maybe I'll just fill the living room floor with good dirt and plant everything in the living room. We don't use it much anyway! lol

What a great idea, why didn't I think of this?!? A good excuse not to vaccuum or clean. We need the dirt on the floor. OH man what I could do with that! There has got to be some hope for this tidbit of info. I'm gonna work on that.

Sundance, WY(Zone 3b)

LMAO! And we just leave the door open on nice weather days, let all the bees in to pollinate? Too funny!

Sounds good to me. I know there is something there I can work with.LOL The possibilities!

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Oh, girl, you are so lucky to have bees. All we got is mostlly Bumblebees, not that there is anything wrong with bumblebees, I love them.

Sundance, WY(Zone 3b)

Didn't realize you only have bumblebees! Interesting. My DM just called me, and she is very mad! Seems her cat woke her up at 4 am today by jumping on her bed and promptly turning a mouse loose on her pillow! lol Of course, Mom immediately jumped out of bed, turned on the light, yelling and screaming at the poor cat. But alas, the mouse was no where to be found by then. LOL! Lost in her bed or bedroom somewhere, no doubt hiding from her and the mean cat. No more sleeping in that room or bed. DM turns 81 this year, and has now called all 4 of us kids and wants us all to come to her house and find and kill the mouse. SOON!!!

I could do without bumble bees, they just bore holes in all my wood and hover all over us when we go out and I don't like the stinkers. They take over my bird houses and run off the birds. Last year I had to tear down 3 bird houses and wash out all the honey they made and clean it up for my blue birds and then the birds wouldn't use them any more. The bees ruined their nests. I'm not happy with them right now at all. We do have honeybees and yellow jackets and hornets-yellow japanese hornets and some black hornets and such. Oh man, the pesky horse flies have begun already. Got me 2 times yesterday on my arms. They got a black lacey wing. They hurt too.

Sorry skellogg, we over posted. You go help her out. That is enough to give a heart attack to someone old. But is a little funny too. Poor lady.

Sundance, WY(Zone 3b)

All of us kids just laughed and laughed. What a good kitty! lol The cat will find it, sometime, tho. So guess DM will just stay in the guest room until then. LOL!
We have yellow jackets, hornets, and deer flies, and horse flies, wasps, etc. Those buggers do hurt when they bite! But the ground hornets are really mean, especially in the fall when the weather starts turning colder. So far this year the only bees I've seen are honey bees on my hyacinths, that were starting to bloom. This freeze will probably stop that tho. But, the cherry trees and lilacs haven't leafed out yet, so they will be back then. We don't have the bees chasing off the birds, tho, thank heavens! Nasty buggers! I don't like any of them, even tho I know it's necessary to have them. If it can bite me, I don't like them! But, I'm not prejudiced, I don't really like any bugs much and really hate spiders! YUCK!!

When I see a purpose for an insect, I can understand the reason for having them but what on earth could the purpose for bumblebees and hornets be? Birds don't eat them, they too big and mean. The winters are not bad enough here to freeze anything out and if it's rainy in spring, they ALL swarm in with a vengence. I need rambos number.

Sundance, WY(Zone 3b)

I agree! When I was young, I was literally attacked by a swarm of bumblebees. Must have been stung 40-50 times. It was awful! Must be why I still hate them!

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Got to love your Momma while you got her. They don't go on forever, you may think so but They go when their time is up. My poor old Momma been gone a good while and believe me you still miss them. I am an Orphan. Just me out of a family of five., but I got a dear SIL who I love and all my friends here.
there is a virus that has infected bees, we still need pollinators, that for sure. Mekos, I bet it is a dear fly, you think?

Outstanding Irises all - mine are just starting to bud out, I'm about two weeks behind everybody else. You folks have such beautiful colors, too. I'm not sure what mine are exactly, they don't have a name like many of yours. I'll take a photo later.

Isn't Wyoming pretty! LOL! Maybe I'll go out later and take some pictures of my iris beds so you can see how pretty my iris are! Teehee!!

Thumbnail by skellogg

It's beautiful! I only dream of those places. My husband would be hunting a way to get there if he saw these pictures. He's always talking about moving to Alaska. I hear about too many bugs there though. I see people talking on the shows and mosquitos fly in their mouths during spring time. I headr they get use to the weather and cold don't kill them. But this is just beautiful. Be still my heart! We gonna have to work a trade of places for winter and spring, Skellogg. I like your spring.

Hope your tomatoes are inside Sandi! I think I would be inside, too. Next to a warm cup of coffee. Can you believe it?

Al

Nice RRM. I love the color.
Good morning Al. Hope you are getting rested up from your trip. I love the pictures. Helps you see places too far away to go yourself, seems more real than just a book. I really enjoy them. Thanks.
Yes Skellogg, you stay warm and dry and take care of the plants. I want maters when I come to visit.

I found a nice companion for Charley. His name is Jerry, named after the wild west mining town of Jerome in Arizona. He seemed real friendly especially when we offered some stale cookies in our pack. He was part of a junkyard display of old mining equipment there.
