STORIES OF BASIL,LAMBIC AND CORN

And I'm gonna put a fake hand in dino's mouth and a foot in the other one and a sign that says "Stay off my sidewalk"

Can you tell I really really like Halloween

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

I asked her about a crassula too, same response

Why would you hire someone to work in a nursery who doesn't know about plants?
would you hire an electrician who doesn't know anything about wiring?

27 more days!

Samhain is my favorite holiday. You could put up a sign that says "Under-performing plants will be dealt with accordingly"
and "hang" your annuals under it.....and rather than chase the treaters away by keeping them off the sidewalk, have your sign say "Keep off the flowers"

You would be surprised how many nurseries have under-trained or no training at all employees....they figure the info is on the tag (NOT) all they need is a warm body to water and keep things from being stolen..

the sidewalk thing is because we got in an argument with the city over our sidewalk...it needed fixed desperately, but they wouldn't fix it, then our sun tripped on it getting off the bus and broke his arm..hubby got mad and replaced the entire sidewalk in front of our house, so the city sent us a later saying that since we did that, we have to take all responsibility for it and it now belongs to us, so hubby stands at the door and yells at people to "Stay off My sidewalk!"

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

I can dress my puppy up as the Grim Reaper since she's always trying to eat my plants

As for Samhain I celebrate that seperately with my mom and my sister On Nov. 2

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

For me it would have been a letter from my attorney giving them options, fix the sidewalk, pay the medical bill, or go to court, then fix the sidewalk, pay the medical bill and pay the court costs...yours' included.

Good you have them to share the occassion with....

Wichita, KS(Zone 6a)

what a gorgeous morning here in Kansas. I took my coffee outside to check on the sunflowers and saw a few bees! I remember when seeing a bee buzzing around the flowers was no big deal but now it's a monumental occasion to celebrate!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

ok, I went to My Tools and don't see anything that says Ads. Where is it?

Wichita, KS(Zone 6a)

click on My Tools, then at the bottom of that page choose Preferences, then on the far right side of that page you should see a box with your Preferences choices, choose Ads and you can turn them on or off from there.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Babee, thank you so much!!! Finally got it. Whew!

Wichita, KS(Zone 6a)

anytime! glad to help :)

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

I have tons of bees in my yard. They love the turtleheads. I have tons of turtleheads too. Anyone want turtleheads???

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

what are turtleheads
Hey Moon that also means I may block the sidewalk with a fence or my flowers and no one can do anything about it!

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

ooooh...another nifty Halloween Idea...I can put sheets over the rose trees and make em look like ghosts...or since there are 3 of them out front I can dress them up like witches!

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

Now I just need a big cauldron.....

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

See I come in and you all leave AGAIN
I don't have my wand with me and I swear I don't have any flying monkeys (only cause they won't sit still so I can put the wings on them) Do I smell that bad?

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Our little Witch -- I guess it is not surprising that Halloween is such a big deal for you! Of course you will have to take a lot of photos for us!

Wichita, KS(Zone 6a)

Our backyard is really deep and dark so I'm going to get some posts of varying lengths and put a little plywood square on top, paint the whole thing black, then put them all over the yard to put jackolanterns on. That way they'll look like they are floating in the darkness. IF we can find a Justice of the Peace and IF I can get everything together by Halloween, we plan on getting married that day so let's hope for good weather. Fiance-man and I will dress up like Herman and Lily Munster. So, I need lots of ideas to decorate the backyard.

I only like it cause its the only day of the year I get to deliberately scare people and not get in trouble for it...A holiday built just for those of us who like practical jokes that aren'y meant for April Fool's Day!

But I am a dork I decorate for every holiday...hubby thinks I go overboard but the kids love it and that's whats important!

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

oh cool Babeegirl! I can't do that cause our dog would just knock them off!

(Zone 5b)

Morning Pebbles! *grin* Morning Venice!
Trina be careful dressing up your plants some excited kids can pull on them. I love Halloween too.
Smileygirl you get your errands done? I have a few to do, too, but I'm on coffee break :)

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Babee, maybe it is not surprising that you are into Halloween also since you are from
'Wich' - ita!!! lol

(Zone 5b)

Babee that is COOL! How much fun will that be??

(Zone 5b)

good one Venice

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

ok, who is Pebbles?

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

I'm good at weddings...its the marriage part I suck at!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Boil Boil Toil and trouble
Cauldron burn and cauldron bubble....

So sorry Venice, I must have skipped a step. Glad Babee was here to catch it.

Hello babeegirl Pebbles...so glad the bees are returning...drought and disease are slowly destroying the population. Neighbor cut down an old and dying tree the other day, glad I was outside..it had a huge honey comb inside. He was getting ready to spray it. Asked him to take a break and give me 15 minutes before he did anything. Got the chainsaw and made cuts on either side of the hive and tied a rope around the trunk chunk...neighbor was so afraid he would get stung I couldn't get him to help move it....got the truck and used the hitch to drag the trunk over near our compost area and drug the chunk back behind the bins....bees were a touch testy, but no problem. Listened to DHJim fuss for ever it seemed like about "being a 58y/o woman dragging a 100 pounds of tree stump....yadayadayada" Thirty minutes later he was out peeking in on them, quite tickled to have them. MEN...ppppbbbbttt!

(Zone 5b)

Babeegirl we nicknamed her Pebbles on another thread (babee rocks) probably while you were off at the store buying lifesaving medicines for Wilty lol

(Zone 5b)

Moon while a man is still hitching his pants up over a job we get it done!
(no offense Dave & Jim...but I think you Jim are probably a pants hitcher *grin*
oops I'm being fresh again...I think Jim brings it out)

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

men are weird sometimes...
don't want to do it
don't want us to do it
and then when we do it they get mad
and then they sneak out to see what we did

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Congratulations Babeegirl AKA Pebbles...grinYou have to take a ton of photos and have rubber bats and spiders and webbing and candles in jars....oh too cool.

Hi Lynnie, how was the gym? Venice, glad you got the ad thing straight.

Trina, they may say you are responsible for the sidewalk but bet you will have real trouble if you block it off...imminent domain thing.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

lol

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

Nope we keep it blocked most of the year city doesn't mess with us anymore

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

LOL Lynnie. Can just see Jo scurrying around while Jim hitches....grin although, 68 is a bit of respite for pants hitching....besides, Jim loves it when we are a bit "fresh" with him....makes him smile at the monitor....speaking of which, gotta clean this one....lots of coffee spots on there...gin

(Zone 5b)

We've had plenty of bees, nothing troublesome but they're out there doing their thing. They like the African basil a LOT. And the clover.

(Zone 5b)

Yes at 68 you have earned your pants hitching lol My husband is a pants hitcher...he's very meticulous too, and he also gets mad if I do something he was going to do.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Moon, are the bees making honey that can be eaten?

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

This thread has been up for 26 hours and has over 300 posts...and over 700 views. That ought to tell folks something...not sure what, but something for sure...LOL

That's cool Trina.

Babeegirl, If you get the small brown paper lunch bags you can cut cat or bat or pumpkin shapes in them, spray with starch to keep them stiff and put votive candles to light the way to the altar....that is just so neat.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Yes ma'am. But I am not adventurous enough to try to rob them of it...just too happy to have them in the garden.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Take a photo of your beehive and let's see how much bigger it gets later.
