Bummer, Trina. Does that help any Venice?
Hey Smiley, maybe we can find the culprit causing all this headache for you and show him a "gypsy tap dance with jack-boots". I am sure Jim and Dave would provide music and moral support. Grin
STORIES OF BASIL,LAMBIC AND CORN
yeah Jim might even help...he was having a problem last night too
hey at least I still get internet...and can plug in my camera....just can't print nothing!
Alright miss Moon, goddess of all, what kind of succulent is this?
Moon -- I want my plant to look more like in those photos! It is not full and bushy and there aren't many flowers and those are small.

Ididn't mean the problems here at DG, someone did some hacking at Smiley's work and is causing her grief...that's the culprit I was referring to...you might want to use the contact us link and let admin know about the porn link....
An invisible one Trina LOL. Venice, how often do you feed it? the woody parts are dead stems??? if so, you may have to lift the plant and divide it and replant the sections around the outside.
I have fed it twice in the past couple of months with Miracle Bloom Booster and maybe once in the spring with the regular stuff. There were just a few tiny dead pieces but the rest of the woody stems have green stems growing from them. I will see if I can get a photo of it.
Please do. might give me a better idea what you are dealing with.
Trina does that foliage have a fragrance to it?
nope but if it breaks and it comes close to anything resembling dirt it grows a new one!
Here's the other one.
Trina & Moon, I pick a few small pieces of that same plant off the ground at Lowe's. Haven't planted it yet though.
I like your astible Venice!
Venice, this is a better site with more information. I think your problem stems from cutting it back in mid-season.
http://www.onlinediscountmart.com/growing-gaura.html
it only needs to get near a hint of dirt Moon, it's the only one that didn't have a tag!
well ladies I'm feeling a little tired today so I am gonna go lay down so I'll be decent, the boys have a Cross-Country meet this afternoon and its a home meet and if I don't take a nap I won't be able to go!
Talk to you later, its always a pleasure!
of course going to bed at one and getting up at 4 am probably didn't help the tired part!
Rest well Trina...I'll see what I can find on your plant.
Venice, may want to let me find out what it is before you plant it....grin Hope the new link gives you a little more insight. It can get a bit persnickety when it is not happy....kinda like us huh? grin
Well, that link says that the blossoms are 1' long. Mine are only barely 1/2" long. It is called Pink Fountain which is not on either site. Pulled out a little more of the dead twigs at the bottom. The site talked about planting some annuals beside it so the plant doesn't droop. Swell!
I tried to take a photo of the top. Afternoon sun is not good for photos here. Morning before the sun is best.
That site mentions Pink Fountain "walgaupf" at the end, but only by name. How much sun does it get Venice?
Okay...play time is over, the plants are hollering for water....catch you all later...
Hey Lynnie, you just went Poof and disappeared what happened? did the Stalk move?
oh my goodness...no I posted that I was running errands & going to the plant store then made up a silly song about the plant store and the post isn't here! I hope I didn't put it on one of those serious forums! lol Eek. I'm afraid to look. Put it right after Trina's song about Tinkerbell.
Good morning everyone! Aloha kakahiaka!
This thread grows quickly!
Need more details on the succulent. Can you show a close-up? Any flowers?
Maybe a Sedum or Senecio.
The Hawai'i that tourists see, and what's on TV is not well representative of Hawai'i. We are on a desert latitude; the rainforests happen because the mountains are so high that they trap clouds.
What was that remark about guys not wanting to do anything?
Hmmm...the site has been having problems the last day ot two, it was probably from some other forum on some other gardening site and ended up here by accident (she says with big innocent eyes)
Oh Oh I know another one. Trina's plant looks like the sedum I got that gets little yelloe flowers. I pull it and throw and it grows
Trina's plant -- I saw a photo of CRASSULA TETRAGONA V. CANNIBUS and thought it was it. But no. Our plant doesn't have woody stems and the leaves (if you can call them that) are straight rather than turn up. I am going out and plant my little pieces of it. But I will bring it inside.
Moon -- That bush gets about half a day of sun.
Dave -- Beautiful tour of HI !!!!! Love your photos.
Dave -- Since you are over here, I will ask you a question about my avocado tree. It was 7' tall but I cut it off because someone recommended that. Anyway, the limbs are really long compared to its height. Do I just leave it that way? Do you think it needs repotting now? It will be coming inside soon and its' growth will slow down.
Afternoon everyone,
Nice country Dave. DH would like that. He is not a good tourist though. If there are alot of people he goes other way. When we went to Maui we were driving down this tiny road (maybe it was a road) scared me to death not room for two cars. When he finally looked at map car rental gave us guess where we were?
Right in the middle marked DO NOT DRIVE CAR HERE. Seen lots of country I am sure normal people don't see. Stay out to him means must be something good there.lol
Lynnie, I did see something about the plant store and errands, and the song. trina's tinkerbelle song is about 20 or more posts up from here, but can't find yours....Now the darn stalk is eating posts....OH MY!
Gee Dave, would WE ever say something like that???? Not us, we are just delicate flowers....Judy Tenuda style...lol
Moon where did I put that post?? LOL
anyway I bought 2 more double pink knockouts to finish off that area.
Yes Jjs, your DH has it right, going down the least traveled path usually brings more rewards!
Hey Venice, I would definitely repot the tree. If you can get the tree to bush out at the top it will form a more Standard looking tree.
Lynnie, i did see it...honest, but I thought it was here and when I didn't see you posting thought I was confused again...big surprise...lol
I even went wa-aaaay back up looking for it..
I think Trina's plant is called sedum rupestre "blue spruce"??
Now I gotta go dig up this weed I found. Grabbed it to pull darn thing has tiny sharp thingies on the stem OUCH1
Grab a glove Girl and give it the dickens....grin
I don't think it is the blue spruce. I have a piece of that in my tiny rock garden. Hers isn't blue enought to be that.
Dave -- How do I get it to bush out on top? Ask the fairies to help?
I have those thorny weeds in the playscape...ouchy!
my daughter wants to go visit some arboretums around the area this weekend to scout out some good photo shoot places. We plan on taking her daughter (7months old) with us to have a multigenerational day out. I laughed my bootie off this morning when I went in to get my granddaughter out of her crib only to find she had, for the first time, taken off her dirty diaper by herself and Oh what a mess! her mama turned positively green and got so mad at me..."what's so funny? this isn't funny!" Oh yes it is because I've been waiting for that payback for YEARS! it's funny funny funny because grandma says it is :)
