June 2nd Kassy....gemini to the core and "we" like it that way....doctors had my folks geared up for twins right up til I was born....worried that "the twins" would be preemie or low birth weight....due date May 1st. One month later, a 7# 11oz, single birth with a fractured skull, selenium addiction, and serious attitude that was"gonna be boys from the way you are carrying them" little girl....who were to be named Robert Eugene and Everret Conrad....but wound up Roberta Jeanne....still have the attitude....grin
Not to worry Lynnie, have to take care of me....too many others to look out for...GRIN
HELP!!!!!
No Lynn, I like being up at night! A night owl, as my mom said I was when I was young too.
Got you beat Jean........................March 10th..................and came in at over 9 pounds I remember. Not sure on the ounces or the lenght. Would have to look that up
Afternoon all, I am taking a break from fighting the jungle I created! Plants trying to fight me...and my evil puppy is tyring her best to be "Helpful" in her own little way....14 philodedrons....what was I thinking!
OMG, good luck trina,
Later ^_^
Now Jim we want to keep you around so you better be taking care of yourself!
hey Dave, if I set spider plants next to the tv can they handle it or will the vibrations or whatever kill them? I know I'd have to water them more frequently
I will defer, Kassy....grin. Be careful on the drive up to BF's. Tell him you love him, but have an "obligation" to the Gypsy Rebels.....LOL. Be safe
Spiders! yucky...I hate spiders...moved my big variegated spiderplant and one came out of it....price you pay for putting them outside all summer....he's a squashed spider now...saw the fiddle on his back and knew he had to die
Hey Trina,
I don't think vibrations from the TV would hurt the plant, but depending on the shows you watch they could react well or poorly. Bad entertainment could kill the plant!
If it was large with a fiddle, it was a female...probably full of eggs. Just did your part to free the world of a bunch of dangerous biters....grin
Too funny, Dave. There used to be an old myth about the radio waves killing plants if you put them on a TV...nobody told the plants. grin
well around here we watch discovery (mythbusters-love to watch them blow stuff up) the history channel, HGTV or the Speed channel (I'm a nut about nascar and hubby watches car show stuff) so I guess its safe...unless kids get on their spongebob kick again
who lives in a pineapple under the sea...Sponge bob square pants
UHG!!! I ahte that cartoon!
They stopped running the good cartoons....looney toons, Warner Bros, Animaniacs....I love Tex Avery and Mel Blanc.....
always a bugs bunny and roadrunner fan..that coyote may not have ever caught the roadrunner but he sure was persistant!
Don't know why youngsters like some of those shows so much, but I've been at friend's houses while Sponge-Bob was on and they would be completely tuned into the tube.
I've even heard them singing logos about candy, soda-pop, and other junk food.
I think the advertisers use child-psychologists to figure out how to get into the minds of children. It's very disheartening to listen to a kid cry till they get a coca-cola.
Boy, mine would have cried a river....we did a weekly outing to the local ice cream parlor where they were given a choice...1 item only, $2.00 max. Banana splits were really big with my crew and a large was $1.99. At home we had fruit and home baked cookies and occassionally ice cream as the budget allowed...weekly grocery trip meant if everyone behaved, everyone got to choose a candy bar.
.DHJim decided to give them a real treat one weekend and let them choose whatever they wanted for supper....he was geared for hot dogs or sloppy joes...they chose steak, baked potatoes, artichokes, broccoli and corn on the cob with chocolate milk and watermelon for dessert.....I was really proud of them as they were 13, 11, and 9.
The 1st one is Dracaena fragrans 'Lemon Lime'.
Dancing in the right ball park....just the wrong bleachers....grin
umm snickers and a cup of coffee, breakfast of champions I'm having that now
Hi Jean,
I see that the link you posted is erroneous. The 'Goldstar' cultivar has solid green leaves with thin yellow stripes on the margins. Some google sites have the cultivar right, but several also have it mixed up.
The 'Lemon Lime' cultivar has a central band with light and dark gray-green streaks bordered in white, with yellow on the outside.
Hey Flowers, can you change that candy-bar into oatmeal and fruit?
well I did pick up bananas too, this is a mabe once a week treat for me.
Bananas are good nutrition!
my biggest weakness is pepsi altho I drank Dr. Pepper last envening and was up all night!!!
Is it my breath? everyone quit talking lol Gone hopping over the tulips to other forems Carry on my friends
There is 41 mg of caffeine in 12 oz of Dr. Pepper.
# 2 is Dracaena fragrans 'Compacta'.
I don't know what that is but it's prettier than my corn, which thanks to Jim no longer has whiteflies aphids and ants (oh my!)
Flowers nothing wrong with the occasional treat as long as you get your daily RDA's in, at least in my book. I have a little dark chocolate every day.
The RDA for Dark Chocolate should be at least an ounce!
Dave just in case I have about 2 ounces ;) I would hate to underestimate.
Trina I saw some cool banana plants (trees?) that are supposed to be hardy to my zone (5) and I have SO MUCH room and SO FEW trees, I'm thinking , why not?
well if they are cold hardy for my area I thought they'd be pool either near the pool or the hot tub, for a little tropical feel...that and I burn so easy its not funny, I need shade, my children on the other hand....stay tan as can be all year!
its not the best picture and don't mind all the little potted plants, i'm still working on finding them all homes, either inside mine or else where...just hate to seem them go to waste!
they never said anything about flowers only that it could get 30' tall....dark chocolate...oh yummy!
