Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

I know they are definitely moths. I hate moths. I remember them flying around my head when I was little.

(Zone 5b)

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

I would take some of your plants but I live about 4 hours from you!

I tried looking up that moth and they just got to be too gross for me. This site is really good. Just pick on one of the categories and see tons of them!

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

not until the weekend before thanksgiving

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

The common name for them is humming bird moth, they are clearwing hawkmoths...my great aunt India used to say they were fairy horses and if you were very good and quiet you just might see the fairy on their back....hard to be quiet when the beggar is trying to find nectar in your nose.....

Hi Rachel...where ya been hiding...missed you. Been getting that " burst of fall " out your way?

JJ's, good to hear your BR project is getting wound up...wish the weeds would wind themselves up and go away... how is this for dumb....the temperature was a balmy 84 today....the humidity was at 89% giving us a heat index of 93 and muggy. The minute I tried to get anything done, the doggone breeze died.

Venice, sent a little eulogy for Wilty.....

Yummy, Kassy's cooking...should have grabbed some of that traveling corn to go with the puffball.

Trina, your plant is also called a lipstick vine in addition to dancing dolphin, here's the link.

why wont it grow?

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Here is a link on carehttp://www.plantcare.com/encyclopedia/goldfish-plant-1867.aspx

I really don't know why it won't grow....the lipstick part is wrong...not lipstick vine, guppy vine. Columnea gloriosa

Good advice Lynnie a new thread. Thing's are bouncing around so much that it's hard to keep up with sometime's. If you want to....go ahead and start a new one. I know these long thread's have to just drown anyone on dial-up

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Trina my DH goes to brickyard every year too.

Moon just hope since BR got facelift nobody moves home!! Not balmy here downright chilly at night.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

You are welcome Trina, sorry I can't be more help.

Lynnie you need to start a tequila basil thread....quickly...grin

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

I hear ya JJs....no strays in the BR...grin turned out to be just hot and muggy...so much for balmy

Rachel, there are about 4 threads that have overlapped....Kassy was so confused last night she was talking on one and posting the pictures on the other....GRIN....I just stay confused...that way nobody really expects much in the way of coherence from me....lol

(Zone 5b)

Jim isn't around tonight, huh?

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

LOL moon...I am always confused...gonna get off here for awhile hubby actually got home early and kids are all in bed...Wink

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

He had a really bad night last night...he was on earlier today, but think he was turning in early tonight...he may have gotten some rest and will show up later.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Heres a good one. Sent DH out to the couples house that I help to get the garbage because they didn't get it taken out. But he didn't tell them he was there, got the trash swept the garage and left. The man called me all upset he went outside and somebody had stole his gabage!!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Have a sweet one Trina...good thoughts....gonna make it early again tonight....blessed be. Moon

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Too funny JJs....wish someone would steal mine....lol

JJ that is FUNNY!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

I just give up trying to find the right thread. I don't care how nice that moth is suppose to be, I sure don't like it!

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

OK, I was just out taking pictures in the dark. Why didn't I take some if the corn field that my BF has behind his land? hmmmmmmmmm

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

This is the right thread if you were looking for the humming bird moth. it is just about a ba-zillion posts up from here....grin

I think they are neat to watch flitting around, but don't want the on me....still can't see the darn fairies LOL must not be living right....

(Zone 5b)

because it's dangerous in that there corn at night!

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

It was funny but the poor man wasn't laughing. If they broke in once they may do it again and take something besides the trash. Took forever to get him to understand it was our garbage day so we got rid of his for him

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Well night all gotta get GS in bed, or he will be impossible to wake in morning.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

I am going also. 'Night all!

Time for those night owls to come out!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

night Venice, sweet sleep...sorry about Wilty.

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

OK Jean this one is almost better then my son..................

I got a text form BF before I came up here telling me that he hoped I didn't mind the smell, because something died between the walls.
OH your going to love this one!

BF has a mouse trap that he sets above the front door, because he has seen them run across there already. Why wouldn't they? The cat's can't get to them there, their not dumb. He built a little ledge up there to put a mouse trap on.

Anyway, after I got here, Yes the smell was bad. Smelled just like something died in the walls. Sad thing it was near where the computer is.

He sprayed Lysol, and that helped for a little while, but not for long.

While he was out with the chickens, I went to get a sweater, because it was getting a little cooler in here. I couldn't understand why it smelled so bad on that wall that the sweater was hanging on, but then I thought WAIT! Check the mouse trap. The trap was not there! It had fallen down into a big bowl of potpourri and there it layed................OMG!

I took the whole thing out to him and now it smells much better in here!!! ROTFL

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Holy moley Kassy. He didn't look for the trap? Men. Funny as all get out that it fell in the potpourri....even funnier he didn't notice the fragrance had changed....I swear they are blind....no, they have selective vision...grin
