Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

Hmmmmm, Interesting grass.
I'll have to ask footless if he can do the macarena

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

well she left me 3 flats of it...tired of looking at just dirt in the bottom, whats the worst it could do right? It will either grow or it wont

Keaau, HI

Aw! It's a Scirpus and not a true Grass. And I was hoping for a real Grass!

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

Have you ever seen blue eyed grass trina?

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

OH and Dave, we have yet at least one more healing plant!!

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

Blue eyed grass...no sounds cool though

So do you think it will work Dave?

Keaau, HI

What I know of Scirpus species is that they love lots of water. They are comfortable in wetlands.

The Cataract Palm lives along stream margins in it's native Mexico.

Sounds like they may grow well as companion plants, although the Scirpus may like more sunlight than the Palm.

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

This is blue eyed grass, that just showed up at my BF's door step....
I like it ^_^

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

hhhmm...that looks familiar but we don't call it blue eyed grass...But I can't remember what we do call it here

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

I have never seen it here. BF got a load of top soil and I would love to know where it came from. Because that cute little thing popped up and so did the healing plant, or a couple of healing plants

Healing plant?

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

Yes, healing plant, oh Dave, where is Dave. He can tell you the name of it. It has been used for Medicinal Purposes and it is another mint.......................another mint, just what we needed, NOT!! LOL

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

I like you your funny!

Keaau, HI

Yes, it is Self Heal, Prunella vulgaris, an excellent medicinal which speeds healing, used as a topical.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

I will have to remember that! especially with 5 kids...I keep aloe around for the same reason...especially since they are all learning to cook...accidents happen

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

Thank you Dave...............I am now putting that name with the picture of it ^_^
Wheeewh, I knew Dave my Wisconsin Consultant knew it ;-)

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

We all bow down to Dave The Great the God of Plants and Their Names!!!

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

Keaau, HI

No charges for universal knowledge!

Good night all!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Boy there are sure a lot of night owls here!

Jim, I have to ask. What is -- light a shuck and no bull hunchers?
Yes, I am that old, in 2 months add another year! I wish I were a sweet young thing!
I figured you were about that age.

I can't believe but it really is getting to be fall up here! At 9AM it was 58 degrees. The lows will continue to be that now but it will barely get up to 80 degrees. I surely don't mind the cool weather.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Hello All. Sorry i missed the fun last night...Trina, Celtic Trad and Native American animal medicine/divination here. skipped a generation with my mom....too science oriented and according to her, afraid of it, Great Aunt India, grandfather Harry , Great Grandmother Becky WhiteWolf, Great great grandmother Amanda, and a host of relatives before them.

Jim, we love you too much to not say...Leave those tomato leaves alone...they will kill you.Nightshade and a heart condition equals sad pretty widowed Rose.....not a good thing. Just stick to your peanutbutter and jalapenos and wash it down with some good cold milk.

Kassy, I am so glad Footless still has legs....otherwise we would have to completely revamp his fire wheels into a fire-wheel chair....grin, unless you are planning Hot wings for supper.....LOL

Dave, great artifacts. Having the generator actually keeps you closer to the Earth...now if we could figure a way to capture wind and solar to run the generator....grin

Good morning Venice. How is Wilty? any new growth? How is the composting going? It really is garden gold.

Jim and Trina....thank you so much for your kind words over the jalapenos....grin. I do appreciate it, but it did make me blush...even at 58, I can still manage to redden up like a teenager....grin...Thank you

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

This is wilty! What do you think? Talking about compost!!!
Poor guy! He didn't have a chance.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

You can barely see him. He is right in the middle of the photo.

(Zone 5b)

Venice put the shr...er..mulch back over him.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Yep! He deserves that much, to be resting with something nice over him. I know he will appreciate it.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Verbascum are tough little plants. Just let Wilty rest there. If he has anything left, he'll be back, if not, he will further enrich the soil and be remembered that way.

Delhi, LA

Good morning all.

In the old days, when people would get ready to go home from a visit, they would take corn shucks and twist them and set them on fire to light their way. Thus "to light a shuck" means, I have to go. Bull hunchers refers to a certain thrusting motion a bull makes during breeding season. (Modestly put, I hope.)

At 58, Moon, you are still young and full of vitality. Thus the reddening of the cheeks.

Did I not tell you guys that I was weird last night? When I got up to go to bed, took a good case of the shakes and trembles. Blood sugar bottomed out. Guess that was why I was craving peanut butter. Took about an hour to get it up, then woke up with the night sweats, turned the air conditioner down, then woke up about to freeze. Finally got a couple of hours sleep but energy level at zero. The reason I'm typing on the computer instead of doing the thousand things I need to do out side.

Hope Kassy has a save trip. She might like her blue eyed grass but it looks a lot like what we called Crows Foot Grass down here in cotton country. A real pain to get rid of. Maybe it's not the same. Hard to tell from pictures. Don't know how Dave does it.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

I knew something wasn't right with you when I read your posts this morning. You have to do better than that Jim...after all, you are our Rock of Ages....smile.

Thanks Jim.

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

Jim, any grass that isn't green I like :p
Well just about any!

Whoa, Jean, when is your birthday? We are real close in age..........LOL

Company is here from Florida, car is mostly packed. Shower time and then to try to fine my little girl who will probably hide on me!

(Zone 5b)

Kassy did you sleep last night? Not heading out on no sleep are you?
Jim, you're keeping track of your sugars? Remember to adjust for activity! Sheesh People! Do I have to drive to four corners of the earth??
I'm still hungry from my workout, going to stick my nose in the fridge...
Moon I trust you're taking care of yourself over there? We'll have to change you to Bedrock.
Where is Rachel?
Venice you have made me laugh several times lately :)

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

I slept Lynn, I started vacation sunday morning ^_^
Now if my manager could only get it right as to how long I am off for..................sigh

(Zone 5b)

selective amnesia, right?
