Sending good wishes for the surgery Jim. I hope it does turn out benign.
Everyone have a good night. I'm outta here!!!!
i have slugs
Night cat. Have a good weekend.
I'll let you guys know about the surgery. The one today was a knot in the ladies breast. The doctor said it didn't appear to be malignent to him but of course will wait for the result of the biopsy. Hope you guys have a great week end.
Question for you Rachel. They did a needle biopsy this morning, then went back and removed the lump. I thought you always did a needle bio several days in advance of the surgery to see how raidcal you needed to get with the actual surgery. Am I right or wrong?
Sending well wishes for the surgerys Jim. Get some rest over the weekend. Monday sounds like a long day.
Moon somehow I think the GS will win out when he starts with the "PLease Gramma let me drive". lol
Everyone have a nice night. I am off to find my jeans. It is 64 degrees and falling fast. Global warming or ice age??
Jim, if they find abnormal cells in the needle biopsy, it is easier on the patient to proceed. That way they don't have to put the patient under anesthesia again, and it is also more cost effective for the patient...one OR bill instead of two. Some doctors have also found that patients tend to delay having the procedure done if there is a lagtime .
Well, I don't know what happened to our weather. At 2 when I got home it was so hot and humid you couldn't take it. About 4 I decided to finish up the tree cleanup. Temp was real pleasant with a nice cool breeze blowing. Didn't hardly break a sweat. Finished the trees, took down the tomato cages, stacked them and cleaned up the mess. All I like is tilling it up and adding a little compost and will be ready to plant broccoli, cabbage, and califlower. Now if I can keep the army worms out of it. Always something.
The cool front moved through Jim...temps are gonna be in the 80's for a couple days. You are going like a house afire out there. Good thing you have cooler weather, don't have to worry about you having a heat stroke.
Man, I had forgot what it felt like to be able to get a good breath of air while I was working. I can take the heat, in fact, I like it, but the humidity has been a killer. I hope we have a few days like this so I can get caught up.
Jim you can come visit me for a few days of fresh air. We aren't suppose to hit the 80's until about Tuesday. Sure I could keep you from getting to bored and your stories and expertise would be so welcome. Not being fresh the invite includes Jo!!
Everyone is welcome, I'll put on the coffee and buy donuts.
JJ's, Isn't Woodhull up in northwest Illinois? My Mom's family is from southern Illinois, Cambria, Marion, Vienna Metropolis, and I was born in Cairo. We lived in Batavia for a while also.
coffee & donuts??? don't have to ask me twice!
I'll bring Community and give you all a real treat.
Got one heck of a fire going. Was going to invite all to a weiner roast but it is so hot you can't get within tweny feet of it.
Decided to go to Shreveport tomorrow evening and spend the night. About to get to old to get up at three a.m. to get the hospital. Gonna take my best smelling after shave and see if I can work a little magic on my sweetie. No, to old for that too.
Hope you guys have a great week end. Probably be Tuesday before I catch you all again.
Be safe Jim. Best thoughts for your friend. Have a safe trip.
Moon, yea I'm in northwest Illinois. I've actually been to vienna and Marion. They are about 51/2 hours from me. Woodhull is right off interstate 74 and 35 miles from Iowa border.Easy to find
Never to old Jim just a little slower sometimes. Have a good trip.
Have to hurry Lynnie donuts don't last long here!LOL
Got to get outside and get something done. It's like early spring weather here, except some of the trees are already losing leaves.
jmr your funny, I too have a bassette and never tried the beer thing but might have eased the stress of watching the slugs by watching the bassette stagger around the yard lol. I tried every thing too and spent lots of money, but found that slugs run their cycle out and in the ground for about two years. For that reason I stopped planting a garden for a couple of years and the varmits were few and far between this year. Good time to visit your neighborhood farmers market while the leaf eating , tree sucking little vultures do their thing and die.
JJ I did my workout, (how are you feeling strong?) & am ready for those donuts...
Jim hope your trip goes well.
flowers_delight, I didn't know slugs had cycles like that! good to know.
Lynnie saved you a gooey chocolate cream filled one I'll do the cardio for you today. Have to mow the yard again. But I'm feelin good and think some of the things that were headed south have started to head north.
I don't know where you find all that energy.
jj I'm now out of energy...laying around right now hoping for a quick nap! lol
it's still hot & humid here, the rain didn't break the humidity at all. Weeds are winning.
Well I guess all you guys have quit posting. If so it has been a blast. I love you all.
Hey Jim. I don't know about everyone else, but I haven't gone anywhere. It's just been crazy busy at work the last 2 weeks.
Not everyone is gone, just waiting for you to come back and stir things up Jim, grin.
Hi Cat. How goes the CPU nightmare? About to get things squared away?Hope so.
Chezca's new puppy must have eaten her mouse, either that or the peach gnats have come for her.grin
JJ's, how are the spelling lessons going? Little guy must keep you running in the evenings.
Lynnie, still in chocolate withdrawal? Cardio, cardio, cardio...no matter how many times you say it, it still sounds like work.Grin
Hey Rachel, Jim's back....got anymore cool lizard pics?
Hi Flowers. Welcome to the Slug fest.
Hi. We are on the downhill side now. Mostly a few printers and 1 laptop left to get fixed. Thank goodness!
We did some school shopping and got those big cookies at the mall...they took the edge off the chocolate craving but it will be back. I think I have all the school supplies.
Got some new duds. Went to the hairdresser. Did the groceries. Been out all day!
And then you can do a happy dance up and down the hallway...
School started for my grandkids 2 weeks ago. Guess they are allowing for snow and ice days this winter
School starts earlier here, so that is all out of the way, finally. Now we start the Homework Wars.....GSJordan feels that if he gives them his time during the day, they should not infringe on his time at home....If patience were the only virtue, I'd be on the fast track to the hot spot....grin
GSJordan started on Aug 12th. Got to allow for hurricane days....but, he gets out of school 3rd week in May, so guess it evens out.
How old is he? My middle grandaughter came to spend the night last weekend and was complaining of homework in 4 classes! :-) Poor babies! Tey don't have a clue how things will be in the real world when they are grown.
He'll be 15 next Tuesday. Not only the real world, but when I was a kid we had homework everynight. Thought it was a treat if we didn't have any on the weekend. But he is at the age where if it wasn't homework I am sure he'd find some other great injustice being visited on him....grin
We've been having a lot of fun, but I sure do like my "me" time once in a while, I try to get up early to get it but somebody always finds me.
We start school a LITTLE early, not much. I noticed on the school calender they don't get a few miscellaneous days off that they got last year, to save for snow days.
My parents sent me to work when I was 14...when I was 16 I had to buy my own school stuff. 10 years later I bought my own house :)
Sounds like the way I was raised...second of five and 5 years older than the brother after me. Since my mom worked at the local hospital, I wasn't allowed to get a real job....slave wages for minding my 3 younger brothers and cleaning house and ironing....but, I can wreak havoc on wrinkles...grin
Just shows there is something to be said for earning it yourself...it is MY house, dear parents and I painted the living room purple...grin
Hot purple?? LOL
You gals and guys have a super evening. I am outa here for today
You too Cat...catch ya later
Cat would that be my laptop...LOL
Spelling is going fine Moon, tonight is meet the teacher night for parents so I guess that means I'm going to school tonight. My sister went back to school to become a nurse so I have her granddaughter after school now too. Double spellin words.
Hi Jim hope you had a nice time in Shreveport and everything worked out well.
Lynnie since you are taking care of my workouts I will take care of your chocolate cravings...only fair.
DH is remodeling my computer room so I have to use this ## laptop that has a mind of its own. Kids want to use it so I guess I better share before it quits working again
You are a good Grandma JJ's. Just think, by the end of the school year, you will know ALL their spelling words...grin
Cat have a good night!
JJ that's nice of you, need more nurses out there!
