Most likely the best packaging I have ever recieved. Plants came in undamaged and with well developed roots (passiflora cuttings). Plants would generally be considered a bit small for the price but then again the plants I was wanting are typically....what the heck.... always not available to me except via mail. Will gladly continue doing business with them

Plants just arrived and have to make a real positive comment on how they were packed. Long time ago I stopped purchasing from them do to what I thought was extremely expensive for size of plants (back when I was young and dumb lol). I realize now that if you are wanting a particular plant (and have recieved such wonderful positive comments on this website), that I need to remember that they can seldom be found elsewhere and some plants by therir rarity are going to be costly. Both plants ordered were larger than I expected and will start ordering more from them in the future.

I just received my plants last night from Logees and I am very pleased. I ordered a passion flower, star fruit and a kumquat. I could not believe the size of them. My kumquat even has 5 little fruits on it. I wish I knew about this company before I purchased my "baby citrus" from another place. My passion flower looks like I might lose some leaves due to the cold but that is what I get for having them delivered this time of the year. All plants were very well packaged and the box included a heat pack!! I can't wait to order more plants from them.

On March 3rd, 2010, cjconover added the following:

Well it looks like my star fruit did not make it do to having it shipped in the winter. Logee's customer service was great. After I notified them, they ask me to wait 2 weeks to see if the plant improved. No such luck. Contacted Logees back and they will ship me a new one when the weather gets nicer. Excellent customer service. On a side note: My second order of a miracle fruit (has tiny blossoms on it already), pineapple guava and a Psidium littorale (lemon) are doing great. I still can not get over the size of these plants. Kudos to Logees and I will order again.

It had been years since I ordered from Logees, and I remembered them as having plants no one else has, albeit on the small side. I wanted to order a humidity tray for orchids, but decided to add an edible-fruited passionvine to my order (it's REALLY hard to just order supplies from a plant catalogue, is it not?). I phoned in my order. When we spoke about shipping time, I was told the order takes approximately 10 days to arrive. That seemed excessive to me. I stated that my shipping address was New York, and that they are located in Connecticut, and that seemed a long time to me. The service rep. cheerily told me she orderded once from them and she lives in CT and it still took 10 days, but that everything arrived fine. I went ahead and placed the order, but with trepidation about the shipping time.

The order arrived in 5 days, extremely well packed, and the little passionvine looks quite good! I'm not sure I get the "10 days" spiel (I get orders from much, much farther away quicker than that), but I do have to say that everything about my order was perfect.

I would definitely order again from them.

Placed an order earlier this week. I paid the extra for two day shipping, as I was ordering citrus and it's been cold. I was very pleased with the plants sent (a larger Meyer lemon and a smaller Persian lime). They were both very well packed, look extremely healthy, and the lemon is full of new growth. I like the e-mail offers and sales they send about once every week or two, and am happy to say that we enjoyed two passionfruit from the 'Possum Purple' passionvine I ordered from them last year!

During mid-winter (Jan. 2010) in MA, I had a strong desire to obtain some much wanted tropical plants (especially after returning from sunny Key West). My trusty "Exotic Plumeria" nursery in FL is going down hill & now staffed with careless/not knowledgeable kids... and they ship hastily causing dead rooted plants upon arrival. Anyways, I saw a papaya tree in Key West that I thought would be really nice to have if it could be pot-able size. I've been searching for a Chinese Perfume Plant for quite a while now as well (I used this to do an online search). Logees came up (along of a few others). I thought that a nursery in CT (cold weathered like ours in MA) would have adapted the tropical plants well enough so I chose them. I paid extra for the fastest shipping possible, as usual. I thought they might not ship until maybe Spring but to my pleasant surprise, they offered free "winter packaging!" (with a heat pack & all sorts of protection!) All 3 plants (chinese perfume plant, papaya, & dwarf singapore obustus plumeria) also came in pots with the growing medium. They were strong and well cared for. When I called to inquire about shipment time, it had already shipped and also, the woman on the phone was extremely informative and voluntarily shared helpful info. I will be ordering from them again! They have a lot of organic products that I could use. I just don't like paying to have it shipped but it's inevitable for uncommon plants for my area. Thanks Logees! You have a new customer!!

I stumbled across Logee’s website while searching on the internet to purchase a dwarf fig tree. I found their website with the exact plant I wanted. I had not checked reviews of the company but I ordered 2 different fig trees from them at that time, crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. It was only a $50 investment with shipping costs but I wanted to get the plants very badly. The plants arrived in a timely manner. They were well packed and larger then I expected. I had to transplant them into bigger pots because they were so large. The plants were healthy with only minimal leaf damage due to the trauma of shipping. I kept them out side during the summer and both plants produced fruit by the fall. I was very pleased. Since that time I have purchased orchids and a Meyers Lemon Tree from Logee's. Both are doing well. The only complaint I have was with the Meyers Lemon Tree. It was a bit small and it had aphids on it. I took care of them and the tree appears to be doing fine. It has even bloomed. It is still to small to carry any fruit on it, but it is a treat to see and smell the blossoms after only havgin it for 5 months. I have been very pleased with my interactions with the company. Their customer service department has been helpful, courteous and easy to work with. They have a great selection of exotic plants and flowers. I do recommend them to my friends, family and anyone seeking an unusal gift.

I ordered a number of plants for my terrarium, based on Logee's recommendations for Terrarium plants. Unfortunately, they came with hitchhikers and the slugs promptly killed my entire previously healthy terrarrium.

To be fair to Logees, I was too busy to contact them about the problem and give them a chance to fix it. I will probably give them one more chance since I'm having trouble finding good sources for terrarium plants. Next time I will also be smart enough to quarantine new plants for awhile.

Unfortunately, 2 of the 4 replacement plants also came with hitchhikers - this time with caterpillars that seemed to hatch in the soil about a week after I got them. Those 2 plants died. Logees offered send me a refund, which I took them up on. THey pointed out that they use biological pest controls, so it is possible for pests to survive in the potting soil at times, which is a good point. Frustrating, but I will probably order from them again since there is no financial risk and they do have some wonderful plants. The two surviving plants are doing great.

My two jasmine trees are green and full of flowers. I found no evidence of any pests or damage. Shipping was very reasonable considering the number of plants I ordered. Also, I received my order within a week of placing it. I would not hesitate to order from them again. Thanks!

Seeing all the positive reviews here of Logee's, this spring I ordered about $200 worth of plants. I received them promptly and they were decently packaged. I got a wide variety & some went outside my house, front and back, and some stayed indoors. However, within a week or so a couple started wilting then dying. At first I figured you might lose a few with any large purchase. But as the weeks went on many others either died outright or seemed very sickly. I should mention all my other plants that I already owned were and are doing fine.

After 2-3 months I was really annoyed by how much money I spent on sickly plants. I sent an email to Logees explaining the situation and asking for help with my remaining plants, especially two brugmansias, my most expensive purchases, that were alive but struggling. I got a message back telling me they only guarantee their plants for 30 days and offering no real help with the plants.

Now it's fall and I'm still very bitter. Every single plant I bought from Logee's is dead, except the 2 brugmansias I have quarantined in my house. Now that the humidity is gone I see the problem - spider mites! Everything must have been infested. Since absolutely all my other plants are fine I know the mites must have come from Logee's. That's $200 wasted and I'm trying to decide if I should just throw out the brugmansias. I will never buy anything from Logee's again!

I love that Logee's carries many unusual plants and I've ordered from them 2 times recantly.
I wanted some supplies so I thought I'd try a couple plants also.

First order was for a Columnea and it arrived looking OK but within a couple days turned black, I emailed them but got no reply. I'm thinking it got to hot on it's way to me.
The other plant I got was Schlumbergera 'Thor Tenna' and it was a very nice size plant and is growing nicely.

2 of the supplies wern't sent but I was charged for them so I had to call about that and they did sent them.

So I felt some what confident ordering 2 Schlum Aspens allthough they were a bit high priced but I've been looking for this one for some time now.
Well they arrived and I was very disappointed, the Schlums were less than 3" tall and one had 3 tiny segments off the rooted piece (very tiny) One was out of it's pot so I could see the root ball and it also was very tiny.
In my openion these should have never been sent to a customer at this size.

I also ordered a Begonia but it arrived smashed and broken.
I called them and they did say they would refund for the Schlums but asked me to give the Begonia a couple weeks to see if it recovers.

So far I've not gotten a refund so I'm not only out the cost of the plants but shipping as well.

I probally wouldn't order from them again!

We apologize for the disappointment. Your order was placed on 7/6/09 at 4:01 EST over our website. We download orders from the website twice a day, once at 8:30 and once at 5:00. At those times we then publish inventory to the website. As a small company we cannot offer live inventory on our website. Due to that, at times our inventory may appear to be in stock when it is in fact not. In your case, we did inform you when you called on July 15th and July 20th that the plant was backordered for several weeks. We only ship plants out that are Logee’s quality and because of that we sometimes find ourselves in this situation. One suggestion that we offer is that our customers call our toll free number to ensure that an item is in stock for shipment. As soon as your order became available we processed the order for shipment and shipped the plant out within 48 hours.

Again we sincerely apologize for this situation and wish you had contacted us directly so that we could have addressed the issue with you to ensure your satisfaction.

I've placed an order with Logee's at least once a year for many years. I think of them as sort of the Lexus of tropical plant companies. They do not ship the biggest plants ( pretty much everything is in a short 2.5" pot unless it physically won't fit in there ) and the average price seems to have climbed well over $10, even for some plants that don't seem to rate that sort of price anywhere else on the web. For your money, you get quality - responsive customer service, excellent packing and shipping, relatively fast response, all backing healthy, well grown plants.

Pretty much everything I've got from them has had good root development and arrived ready to be potted up in a larger pot. Nothing's ever damaged in transit.

I have received some Hoyas from them which many years later I found were not correctly identified, but these things do happen from time to time almost anywhere - it wasn't one a case where I bought the plant expecting something and got something else.

I get a catalog from them almost every month, it seems, and I'll probably be placing another order before the year is out. Boxes of plants from them are a luxurious treat. But you can rest assured that I'll be doing some price comparisons before I order ... and not ordering anything common that I can pick up at a local nursery for less.

I don't like to complain, like my mom says, if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all. I've ordered from logee's over the past several years. I consider myself a basically decent gardener, I can actually keep most plants alive, including a potted gardenia (insert applause here). I could list most of the plants that I have bought from them, and I think about 40 percent of them have survived.

I do attribute some of the plant losses as my fault, I had a passionflower that I had all summer and it got too cold in the house during the winter and it died. My fault. I also had a tea tree (camellia) that also died, my fault because I over watered it. I also killed a gardenia, but that was because I thought I wasn't supposed to fertilize it, and it died from malnutrition. I learned from my mistake with subsequent gardenias.

Many plants did die, although it took a few months for them to kick the bucket. I bought a puny australian finger lime that was frozen in time, it did not do anything at all for a few months and then just started turning brown. I treated it like my other citrus plants, but it just sat there and stopped living. Over the years I bought 2 maid of orleans jasmine plants, the first one died so I bought another one another year. So far it's still living. It's not doing much, no flowers, but it's still alive. I had gotten a mentha requienni (sp?) that died fairly quickly. I called them up and they were very nice and replaced it, but the replacement died as well. I figured may as well not try again. I also bought a fragrant violet that didn't do anything for a month and then turned brown. I have bought violets from Bluestone perennials and they are doing great. I didn't know I could kill violets. It wasn't even a parma!

I would just chalk up the other plants, the blood orange and ponderosa lemon ,etc to life but the reason spurring me to leave negative feed back is because of the bugs and other disease I got.

15 years ago I had gotten a nasty virus that spread to all my plants in my old house thanks to a coffee plant that I had gotten from Lowe's. It was some sort of virus, as I sent samples to the county ag extension. I had to destroy 30 beautiful plants I had grown from seed (cue sad violin music). Therefore, I am Extremely fastidious about keeping my plants disease free. Over a year ago I had bought an epiphyte (night blooming cereus) from them. After a few months, I noticed that it had some dark sunken spots developing on the lower leaves. I didn't know what it was, as none of my other plants had spots on them. I figured it had to do with watering or fertilizer issues and forgot about it. Later in the summer after I had moved it near my christmas cactus (that never has had any spots on it at all), I noticed that the christmas cactus started getting small spots on it! I also saw that my new dragonfruit seedlings were also developing the same spots. Apparently whatever it it, it only attacks succulents. I'm very sad about that, because I am going to have to decide if I have to get rid of my succulents and start over (I'm really bummed because I love this christmas cactus, it's got the most beautiful bright red flowers) or not. I may just keep the diseased plants and try to treat them somehow. The bummer is that I was going to give some of the dragonfruit seedlings away or sell them, but since they have this disease, I can't.

Then I got hit with a double whammy. I noticed that the one gardenia (belmont) had thrips on it, which by the time I discovered them, had spread to my other plants. Later on I noticed that my little fig plant from them has spider mites on it. I have never had an infestation of either of these insects EVER. I was not happy, but I phoned them to let them know about the thrips (I didn't discover the mites till a month later) just so they would be alerted to the infestation. Their customer service is great, they said that their horticulturalist would give me a call (he did), and they even shipped me a new plant! Unfortunately, this had thrips as well. I actually did get rid of them manually, it was painstaking but I did it. I had to go buy some organic insecticide to spray the mites, not sure if they are gone though, as I see marks on the new leaves.

I have no problems with their customer service, any time I called they were very nice and courteous, and gave me some good tips on growing my plants! But they really need to monitor and inspect the plants before they ship them out.

I also wish they would not use Fed Ex as a shipper, because the fed ex driver gives all our packages to our neighbor, who has a criminal record. I have had to stop buying from companies that only use fed ex.

I wish I could still buy plants from them, I like patronizing smaller plant companies, their selection of exotic plants is !!fabulous!! and their website extremely user friendly. However, I just can't afford to introduce new diseases into my existing plant population and hate having to buy insecticides. I also hate Fed ex.

I ordered a couple plants from Logee's this year, and I have not been disappointed. My last order was in the winter and I was concerned whether the plant would arrive cold-damaged, however, my plant was responsibly and thoughtfully packaged with foam-type insulators, surrounded by many shock-absorbing crinkled paper, confetti topping, and a type of thin tarp-type wrapping to prevent the dirt from spilling. None of my plants have died and are growing beautifully. Snug, 2/20/09
