Comments regarding Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Co.

Service was quick. All seeds that I ordered were delivered, without any substitutes. Now that their website is up and running (smoothly) it would be nice to be able to put gift certificates in online, so I didn't have to mail it in to redeem it.

I have been ordering from Bakers Creek since 2007. They ROCK! The selection is awesome, and service is always willing to help. I was told they are going though "growing pains" this year. But the only thing that makes me is jealous! I think its great the business started as a hobby. Its awesome that Bakers Creek is getting popular...they deserve it!!!

I've ordered from Baker Creek for two years and I could not be happier. The seeds we received last season were amazing. Everything came up. We had veggies coming out our ears! The Cherokee Purple Tomatoes were to die for. I just received this years seeds -- they came so quickly after I sent the order, but it's still too early to plant! I've ordered a lot of seeds from a lot of companies, but Baker Creek is my favorite so far for customer service and quality -- love the beautiful catalog too!

Excellent seed company to deal with. I have visited their farm in Aug. when they have an open house featuring most of their garden produce but especially the tomatoes. It was eye opening to see tomatoes grown locally that weighted almost 3#. I have yet to get one of those. 2# yes.

What more can be said, I love this company. I placed two large orders this winter. One was delivered quickly, the other went missing. I kept hoping it would arrive any day, but it never did. About a month after placing the order I called to see what was up.

The ladies on the phone were more than nice and once I was transfered to the right person, she did everything in her power to find out what had happened to my order. It was not in the computer she informed me. She took my number and called me right back 10 minutes later. She apologized profusely and told me that somehow my order had fallen behind something , litterally, and she had dug it up. She was very warm and kind, a pleasure to deal with. She said they would ship my seeds priority mail that afternoon.

My seeds arrived in one day. Perfect experience, I could not be happier. Mistakes happen, but it takes a great company to fix them and make it all better.

I've ordered from Baker for years. I get everything I order with rare exception - once in a great while they are out of a seed I am looking for. This year's seeds were in my mailbox in less than a week from when I placed my order - everything there. I am happy with the quality of their seeds, and I often find rare seeds there that I haven't been able to find elsewhere.

I am very pleased with the seed order I placed with Baker Creek this year. I was pleased with the seeds I'd ordered last year, which grew marvellously despite the cooler-and-damper-than-usual season, so this year's order was substantially larger.

The seeds arrived within four days of order, with bonus packs and a note explaining about the seeds that were out of stock.

I then took the beautiful full color catalog with me to share with coworkers, and through an impromptu discussion, we've set up a group/community garden project for this year, featuring plants we remember from our individual childhoods -- should be interesting, to say the least, since we have several people from Asia, Africa and Mexico in the group. Talk about a way to learn to relate to one another! Who knew we had so many similar experiences with gardening while growing up, and so much in common generally? What a terrific way to foster diversity!

I enjoy every page of the Baker Creek Seed book. I have ordered several years and enjoy the unique seed I find there. I always get good germination and ample crops from their seed. This year my order arrived in 5 days even though they said their orders were being delayed because of huge volumes of orders. I was pleasantly surprised to receive one of the seeds I considered ordering as a bonus!

I found the seed packages I wanted and ordered them. At that time I was informed ahead of time that they were very busy and it would be a while. The seed packages arrived in great shape in my mail box sooner than I expected without any problems. They also sent a free package of seed. I am very satisfied.

Give them a try. I used to live south of Ava, Mo in Wasola, raising feeder pigs. It's a hard area to make a living - good luck with your current enterprise. I just received my order and was so pleased! I ordered less than a week ago and already have everything, along with a free pack of tomato seeds. The seed packets are beautiful and my shipping receipt acutally had a persons name on it and the date they checked it. Nice to see that there are still companies that pay attention to detail. Just sad I already ordered part of my seeds before I found this company.

The catalog is thick and colorful and I think I have already read it cover to cover 5 or 6 times. It is worth just getting one, I can't imagine not wanting to order seeds after seeing the catalog. I am just thrilled to find a company like this, and can't wait to see how the seeds do. We are now talking about taking a trip out to Bakersville this summer.

I've been using Baker Creek seeds for the past 5 years. Germination rate excellent and plants always strong and healthy. I've found really unusual varieties that I can't find elsewhere. Really pleased with all my dealings. Shipping is fast and prices are great. I'd recommend to anyone.

I just ordered from this company for the first time, and was impressed by their wide selection of unusual seeds and quick service.

First time to order here. Since my husband, daughter, and I plant and care for the historic kitchen gardens at GWC National Monument in Diamond, MO, we need seed varieties that would have been planted and grown about Civil War era. All seeds must be OP so we can show what was grown and how seeds were saved year to year by farmers. I appreciate the information on the seeds making it easier to get the correct era and the ease of all OP seeds.
Online ordering gave me fits (may have been the computer user), but did get it in and received the order within a week.
First order was for home garden and early garden at park. Second order will be only for park, so we'll see how well things go when they get even busier:)
Our personal garden is one acre, all OP, that we'll be increasing in size this year. It is a teaching/saving seed/eating/preserving garden.

I've ordered from this company for a few years and have never had a problem before- until now.

My second order of the year was close to $50.00. It was very slow to ship, but finally arrived. A few days later, a duplicate order appeared. I am honest so I emailed them about the double order. They told me to send the seeds back and I could have a credit for the shipping on my next order.

Okay, I was fine with that. I sent in a new order with a note about my credit and previous problem. I quickly got my new order, though with no free seed packet, which was a first. Also, my debit card was charged for the full order price. No credit was issued or refunded.

I also started my tomato plants that weekend and found that my cream sausage tomato packet was EMPTY! No seeds! I again emailed them last Monday and again Friday about the missing seeds and lack of credit issued. NO RESPONSE. Looks like their customer service has evaporated and they are ignoring my emails. I've spent close to $100 dollars on seeds and products from this company this year. Never Again!

This is a great company! My order was placed and received within a few days despite them having a "huge increase in orders". Even if it took a bit longer I wouldn't mind; their selection is amazing and if you haven't visited their site: GO! They have so much more than just heirloom seeds!

I first ordered from Baker Seeds last year. The seeds are wonderful and non GMO is important to me. The selection is great and I received every order within a week. I won't shop anywhere else again! Just wish they had fruit trees....

Placed my first order from Baker Creek. Web site was easy to use and the order arrived within 3 days!

We placed an $80.00 order and recieved everything we ordered super fast (thank you) do to my poor math we shorted the company a few dollars (which will be remited Monday with our next order) and to our supprise they sent everything we ordered anyway (again thank you so much!).
We will be starting most everything in trays indoors and will post on the results of everything we ordered after harvest.

This is the 2nd year that I've ordered Baker Creek Heirloom seeds and I've had great success with everything I ordered last year.

95% sprout rate and 90% of all my plants made it through the transition from indoor to outdoors. I would usually buy from local nursays but their plants didn't compare to the plants grown from the seeds I bought. Fruit output was 50% increased.

Only negative, I've only had one set of seeds that didn't do well but they were probably not sprouted when it was hot enough (chocolate habeneros).

This is the second year that I have purchased seeds from this interesting and above average seed company. They have a greatly diversified selection of some very unusual seeds. Last year I puchased many seeds from them. I had a great germination rate on all the seeds, especially the rhubarb seeds I got. The plants I raised were enormous and produced many pounds of great eating. I bought both rhubarbs seeds varieties listed in the catalogue this year, and as usual will share the plants I raise with friends and neighbors.

The catalogue is very informative and I also get their magazine. They difinitely are fighting the frankenseed companies and in this day and age we all should take up that banner and fight to the last person. If we don't, we will all be growing the food of the future and not know what it will do to our children and grandchildren. It may be very helpful to have a third arm but I do want the choice. The Baker Creek Seed Company gives us that choice. I will continue to order from them and a few other companies I trust. I hope they continue to grow and prosper and continue to provide us with new and exciting varieties and keep fighting the good fight.

I have ordered three times from Baker Creek. I always receive my order quickly and in excellent condition. The seeds always yield great results. I love the great variety. I have a hothouse of seeds currently sprouting for spring planting and can't wait to taste the crop.

Top of the line. Wouldn't buy my seeds anywhere else. Sent $ .75 too much got 3 quarters back with my seeds. I'm sick & tired of the business atomsphere today I'll only deal with businesses that appreciate my business. BAKER CREEK HEIRLOOM SEED CO.
