Hey, Cookie, glad we are going to your house and not mine! Your garden looks so good and mine is like the Amazon jungle with weeds. The cat loves it but she is the only one.

BJ my ex bought a Miata when they first came out. Was the one and only time I wished I was still married to him. It wouldn't have been his for long! Think he still has it and he lives in SC.

We are having a family reunion in Ludington (along Lake Michigan coast about 3/4 way up) in two weeks. Some wanted to avoid the heat (what heat?) and have it in June. We're going to freeze our tussies off!

Love red mulch! Use it on all the beds and love the way it contrasts to the green of the plants. Friend lived in a condo where the homeowners association made them take up all their red mulch and replace it with brown. Wanted all the yards to be "uniform" (P.S. BORING!)

Don't think I could live in a place, that tells me what color, or where I can or can't plant anything! I like having the freedom, of doing what I want. That is what makes it my yard!
The kids grow up fast, don't they? My two boys are now 33 and 28! Grandkids are 12, 9, and 4. Geesh, makes me feel old sometimes.

Wait till your grandkids are 19, 16 and 15... now, that will surely make you feel old...

I had a friend once who had a very unique house... it had several built on rooms from the main house... and a large L shaped porch... The main house, the add ons, and the porch were all painted in different shades of yellow and gold... she had LOTS of flowerbeds, some of them just ran right into the next one, and she divided them by stepping stones... well... each of those planting beds had a different color of bark mulch in them... some blue, some red, some brown, some green, etc... and some were colored pebbles... it took on a very Mediterranean look... and really was eye catching... I wish I had taken a picture of that back then...

That sounds very interseting BJ, a different color for all the paths.
Where did she find the different colors?
Now you all have me thinking. We have lots of place here that you can just pull over to the side of the road, and pick up all the flat rock you want. Maybe I can get me some for a path?

I have no idea where she got all those colors, either, LK... I haven't spoke to her in years... and I wasn't a gardener back then... never dawned on me to ask her.

I want some ROCKS... but I want BIG ROCKS... Boulders...
They're just so expensive around here...

Hi everyone -

And so, another busy day is coming to an end. I hope everyone had a good one. It rained all day here, but Mike and I did make our trip without a thunderstorm. I don't mind getting wet, but I do not like to be out in lightening.

Thanks for the positive comments about my little garden. It isn't hard to keep it neat and tidy when it is so small - lol ! Next to the patio - which is the size of a dime - there is a rectangle of grass that never gets mowed. I would like to make a garden there too.

Joycet - Your garden of hosta is absolutely beautiful. I love hosta.

Have a wonderful evening everybody...

Countrymom I don't like being out in the lightning either, it's kinda dangerous. I had just got on the freeway coming home from work and there was a bolt I saw out my windshield AND in the rear-view mirror, the same bolt, I thought I was seeing double! Of course it popped too, almost instantly, so it was real close!

Quit arguing over who feels the oldest LOL!! You're making Me feel old, and I don't wanna LOL!!!!

Beautiful little 'guy' Synda!

Goodness... 24 grandkids! You are blessed Dusty. Plenty of experience in helping out with diaper change!

How small is that bloom Synda?
