Ahhh good to know, I didn't think they were skinny enough to be Meercats, but never thought of lemurs. Smart Sage.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

After she told me I went back into the picture file...if I would have looked it said right there in the file name ....lemur.

Well - This is the best picture of the ones DH took. We didn't take a whole lot of pictures...we really just sat outside with them ....and kept an eye on them.I think we had about 35 teens show up....maybe more...I'll have to count.

They had a good time.

Going to bed. LSU has a Spring Gardening Festival tomorrow.....Hoping to see it for the first time..

Hugs Sharran and Trisha.....

Hope Stacey & Betty having a Marvelous time :)

AnnMarie, can't believe the amount of yard work you are accomplishing, hey, aren't you suppose to be taking things easy???

I love the little sign in the gnome garden, mind if I use it?

Sure enjoying all the photo's of you all gardening, everything here is still frozen, although only the odd spot of snow remains in my yard...

Took a walk to the back of the property, the neighbors big tree fell in the ice storm/ 1/4 of it over the fence and into my yard, will have to ask when the can cut and remove it, probably my responsibility now right?

Mary, see all that fretting and they all behaved for you and had a time of their life..how exciting was that to give DS the perfect 17th birthday party..

Can't believe Stacey kept me so busy that I didn't even get on DG last night...

I'll start with our morning...

Stacey got up at 7:30 and as planned, she basecoated quite a few projects I had set aside for her, we're not overtaking too much, just enough that she can finish and take home with her, well maybe a few unfinished pieces as well, what to heck!

At 11:00 am off we went for our day to Meaford which is about 100 miles from here..half way we were in a small village called Elmvale, maple syrop country, wouldn't you know a little fabric store was on the main street, of course we had to stop..Stacey ended up with 1 1/2 meters of black/white material with silver thread marking ..beautiful material..then off we went .. took her to Ontario's largest fresh water beach..if you've ever been to Clearwater, Florida well much the same here..white rolling sands they call it...then off to shop..

We arrived at the Warehouse which you just couldn't even think of how large it is..were there about 3 hrs. picking up the cutest pieces..Stacey ended up with a few pieces to take home as well..after all that shopping my bill was ONLY $28.40 and I think Stacey's was about same (less when you consider USA/Canadian exchange rate..so happy campers we were..there was a metal iron type butterfly, he was about 3' wide and maybe 2 1/2 feet tall, I thought he would look lovely in my garden, only $30.00 I himmed and hawed but left without knowing this morning I'd kick myself which I am..DDIL's mom lives there so on her next trip I'll ask her to pick it up for me..always the way, why I wouldn't have bought it is beyond me.., now we ventured on the main street, dropped into another fabric store, looked, nice ideas but came out without purchasing anything..then off to the Candle factory..it's not only candle but country primitive things as well i.e. furniture, decorating items..could have filled my car but didn't..

By now we were starting to wane out, we were on her way home and thought we'd head to Midland to Home Depot to pick up wood supplies..spotted a Home Depot in Collingwood (ski hill/golf country) so decided instead of making the detour to Midland we'd shop there..picked up wood for sleighs, sleigh runners and butterflies..

When we got home rather than cook pizza was ordered from next door, I said small but Stacey said large, thought that way we'd have enough for lunch today and wouldn't have to stop..you know today and tomorrow are our WORK days..

We were talking about Noah and his love for poutine, Stacey had never heard of it so when she went next door to pick up pizza while I was cutting wood, she mentioned poutine and the girl gave her a FREE order just to try it..Stacey loved it!

Now our tummies were full, we sat so comfy watching t.v. how easy it would have been to stay there for the rest of the evening, but no, pushed ourselves -needed to be ready for this morning..and that we are...

Stacey will work on 4 victorian santa sleighs first thing this morning..she basecoated the tops while I stained the runners...

Then while I was cutting, Stacey made a pattern from the Butterfly stake..we traced our wood and think we'll have 5 or 6 from what we bought..I've 1 1/2 cut out so must get cracking and cut the other pieces of wood...I had made Stacey a birdhouse for a swap and had to revamp where the seeds come out so fixing that as well...

OHHH forgot to tell you, am sure Stacey will, while I was cutting, I asked Stacey to let Sophie out, Labradoodle. I am sitting her for Greg and family as they are away until tonight..anyway, I have to keep her tied as she'll run away..Stacey went to tie her and off Sophie went with Stacey running to beat hell to try and catch her..quite the site she said...but, when all was said and done, Sophie was waiting for Stacey at the front door..lol

Must get busy, few photo's to share..

Barbara, I developed this project for girls who couldn't paint i.e. details for santa's, so bought yardage with santa's, cut off the white background of the yardage and voila, when finished it will look as thought the victorian santa has been hand painted..you got to do what you got to do right?

A lovely set of coasters to put photo's in..will wait until after my Washington D.C. trip and put photo's of the kids enjoying...

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello All;

Just popping in for a bit....

Betty - what is poutine? The sleighs are beautiful....you are all so talented!

Laura - Harley is precious. I have a special place in my heart for puppies that remind me of my Opey...he was a Llasa Apso - they look similar.

I thought of all you crafters today. DH took me to the LSU Spring Garden Show....my first show. I saw a lot of crafts similar to the ones you are working on...(thought I saw the one with the jar but the jar at the show was a smaller one).
Sharran - at the Iris booth...DH made a point of asking what kind our yellow Iris is...the one from the pic...

Of course the guy proceeds to tell us that it is a Pseudacorus, highly invasive, and non-native. According to this guy...they are not allowed to be sold due to invasive...That's funny - I've seen them in a lot of yards since mine bloomed.

The Iris guy called it the "Frenchmans Revenge for the Louisiana Purchase"....

So now I've got to keep DH from pulling them up! They are so pretty....I'm sure I can hold him off for at least a few years...or maybe we can just thin them out from time to time...

Planted Today: 6 Portulaca, 4 Green Bell Peppers, 1 Eggplant, 1 Greek Basil. DH planted 4 zucchini and dwarf Bird of Paradise.

Going to get cleaned up....back with the Night Shift !

Hugs,
Mary
