Hi all,

its late here and everyone is probably fast asleep. I had a phone call from my dearest, longtime friend. We've been best friends for almost 30 yrs. Her birthday is the day before mine...and anyhow she has a lhasa apso named Bogie... well she called me in tears on her birthday cause bogie (16 yr old) had a really bad seizure. he has had a really rough year...but so did she. She recently went thru a divorce and moved from NV back to CA. She also has health issues that flared up during her divorce and move.

She called tonight to say that Bogie has gotten much worse over the past two weeks, so she has finally made the decision to help him cross the rainbow bridge. I cried buckets with her and for her! I still get all choked up thinking about it. She never had any children, so Bogie was her child.

I am really really worried about her health now. When she is stressed, well it gets really really bad. has been in the hospital for monhs at a time before. so, asking that you all keep Michelle in your prayers, that she is able to pull thru this without a hospital stay...

She did say that she is going to call the lhasa apso rescue people to see about adopting another doggie in need. We talked about how she wants Bogie to be happy and not have any pain, and that Bogie would want HER to be happy and also pain free... so really hopig that she does get another doggie soon.

okay enough venting from me! just was feeling really sad, so thought I'd come 'home' for a minute and share.

Anjl, no snow here! 70* yesterday, and sunshine! 59* today at 8:45, it will get to at least 70*.
When I was a kid and went to stay with my DGM, she had a storm cellar built in the back yard. I loved to go down there, it was nice and cool, but dark! We always kept an oil lamp down there, and some matches. She was terrified of storms! Especially electrical storms. one of her sisters had been struck by lightning that came in through a window. She had been out picking peas and got wet before she got to the house. My DGM would always make us sit in the middle of the bed, and "don't touch the headboard or the rails"! They were make of iron, and so would conduct electricity! I'm so glad I didn't inherit that phobia!

Praying for those of you who are having to watch for tornadoes. Some people ask me if I worry about hurricanes. Sure, I do, especially after Katrina, but at least I have time in advance to prepare.

I blew up at home last night. I told all of them that I was tired of working my *** off to do everything at home and getting no respect or appreciation in return! Didn't even cook last night! Made me a salad and they had to fix their own dinner. My youngest is 9 and he knows his way around the kitchen pretty good! I have to watch my 11 year old, he really will cook! My daughter, 12, just does the very least like fix a sandwich! And hubby had to fix his own sandwich, too!

Hubby is now saying he wants a future with me, but he wants back the woman he fell in love with- strong and independent. Guess what, he's gonna get what he asked for. I told him last night that what didn't kill me would make me stronger, and I am so tired of his back and forth that I am getting very strong and independent! There's just one problem, I may not need or want him once I become that woman.

I hope you all have a good day. Today, I am in a much better mood because "I am woman; hear me roar." No time for blues today.

love, julie

Julie - It cheers me up so much to see your wonderful positive attitude! I also have gone on strike from time to time....

It can really lift you up to do so....and sometimes it takes a few days...but then they start to realize what all you do!

Now - Betty has moved us over....so check out the link above......this link is closing down.

Hugs,
Mary
