Oh my goodness AnnMarie, a giant of a lad...perhaps when he's working and able, he can save to put hand controls ..might be safer..
yes I do need cobblestone pathway!!!
Glad I didn't break anything..muscles are aching today though!
I've recovered a love seat a few years back.. not sure if Shar would agree but if you break it down by components, I measured from the existing couch pieces..only thing I changed is I overlapped the bottom to create a pocket which I used velcro as the enclosure rather than a zipper....am sure shar would have some great tips for you as well...wish you were closer..T.& G. Fabrics where I always bought my machines and fabric is going out of business..everything dirt cheap .. Ted died last year and new wife seling everything...might be a place to drop in with Stacey..
Best/ worse/ ? did you learn today? #94visit with friends..
Sounds like you and stacey have a FULL three days planned! lol! I dont think I'd be able to keep up with you two!
just went outside and there was a squirrel sitting on my fence, stared at me...then at the empty feeder...then back at me like "arent you gonna fill that thing?!" lol! just filled it, now waiting for him/her to come back so I can get some pictures! lol!
OMG isn't that just the cutest..and they say animals are dumb..have you caught him playing inside the glass jar trying to get his food?
Laura (Wonderhug) Canada post says it no longer has you package, now off into never, never land..lol..left Canada on March 19th..let's see how long it takes from this point...
no havent caught them yet. was pleasantly surprised when I saw the jar emptied tho! lol. I just went out and braved the ladder to put a fresh corn cob on the cafe... will get all heck from DH when he finds out! lolol! but trying to lure the cutie back so I can get pix!
Just popping in!
ANjl - I guess you always get the standard question...."Does he play basketball?"
Betty - Thanks for the update on Stacey! We need one of those maps with a miniature picture of her car moving across the border.....just like the airplane ones in the movies... HA
What a nice feeling Shar & Betty to have them grown & know you've done a good job with them....I hope to have that one day. :)
Sometimes I think I'm overly suspicious of the teens....but just worried. DS plays tennis so much....I ended up checking up on him.....and guess what he was doing? Playing tennis. Wow.
Back later today.....I stayed up past bedtime last night...shame on me.!
Mary
lolol! I know the feeling mary, (tennis) I'm ALWAYS checking up on mine lol!
my oldest son was sooo cute... he could never lie and get away with it, he couldnt figure out why either! lol! called me at work one day when he was about 11 yo...said "mom, I'm gonna go to karate, but when I get home I'm gonna fold my uniform up and put it right back on the shelf where it belongs" lolol! so I just responded with "okay, I'll call your instructor to make sure you get there safely" funny thing...when I got home, his uniform was laying on the floor in a pile with his school clothes lol! years later, I reminded him of the phone call and he just smiled and said...but how did you know?! lolol!
no DSS doesnt play basketball...unless its on xbox lol! He played baseball for years, then got a really bad coach and it turned him off sports ;o( although now he is going to school to become a police officer like his grandfather.... I told him I'd hate to get pulled over by him lol! would just stare way up at him (he's almost 2 feet taller than me!) and say, just give me the ticket sir lol! he weighs about 260 lbs...so he's a big boy! everywhere we go, people are always staring up at him as he walks by.... most of the time he doesnt even notice....I'm usually behind him cause my short lil legs cant keep up...and its funny to see all these people stare up at him lol! I'll make a comment like "I brought my pet ladder with me" lol! then they laugh and ask the inevitable... "HOW tall is he?!"
AnnMarie, Greg is 6'2"..Jeff 5'11" me have to stretch to reach 5'..lol..my grandchildren were all tested..all will be either over 6' or close to it..beats my side of the family, we're all soooo short..
Clock watching here..another 1 1/2 and I'll be smilling...
Anjl - I'm glad I'm not alone!
I've often thought DS would be good in the Police line of work.....had him with a therapist years ago who suggested it....
Hope I don't get pulled over by your DS!
I'm 5'3" or therabouts so I'm with you & Betty !
Anjl - have you been following American Idol this week?
no, I dont watch american idol...only bachelor on occasion, and dancing with stars...then there is brothers and sisters on sunday night...those are about all i watch lol! no time fo rothers it seems :o(
I too am only 5'2, DD is 5' and my oldest DS is only 5'11"...but my step kids are DSD 6'1, DSS 6'8 , DSS 6'11 and youngest DSD is 5'11 and still growing...she will probably be as tall as her sis at 6'1
when my DD (nicknamed 'shorty') first met her step siblings....she leaned over to me and whispered "I see tall people!" lol!
its really a challenge all of us living together...DH is 6'4 so he and the kids have a habit of putting stuff up high... DD & I have to climb on counters to get mixers down etc... I never knew anyone who used the top shelf of the closet to store every day stuff! ugh! I keep trying to tell DH that the top shelf of the kitchen cabinet is for punch bowls and crock pots.... use the lower cabinets for every day stuff....but he says he has to lay on the floor to get stuff out of the lower cabinets lol!
I got pix of the squirrel yay!!! will down load them and post later...gotta run to my docs appt now.
Looking forward to seeing your photo...got to find time to make mine...
I'm so laughing, sometimes I get a stepping stool and climb up and give the house a birds eye'view...sometimes I'm amazed there's no dust, other times, oh well, dust happens...
Just went next door to have cream of brocholi soup, sooo delicious, not sure if Stacey will have eaten or not before she gets here so didn't want a regular lunch...
We close at 3:00 ..Suzanne reminded me of our trip to Frankenmuth and all the construction on the 401..right where Stacey will be travelling and then it being Friday and 1st nice weekend she may be late..
I'll wait till 3:30 before giving her a call..nothing worse than travelling through a city you don't know having someone call...she did say when she got to Hwy 400North she'd call, that's 1 hr from here..
Mary not sure if I told you all, Greg's been working on this specialty snowmachine, 2 friends of his are entering the Labrador run again this year so Greg's reinforcing the machine..imagine a snowmobile that costs 65K....anyway they have a system on the snowmachine that somehow is linked to the internet..people as you mentioned can watch whereabout they are..only problem last year they were on a bay and it malfunctioned, parents were watching all of a sudden no activity..they were just ill thinking they had drowned and of course the men doing the trek had no way of telephoning..wow, that would be frightening wouldn't it..
How did you make out at the Dr.'s AnnMarie??
So nice having you gals to talk to..what happened to our 'tubby' is he making that John Deere tractor for his lawn today?
UPDATE...
Stacey is just passing Paramount Canada's Wonderland theme part..so would say she's about 1hr. away...no problems she said..
Sharran, beautiful job on the love seat!
Ain't that the truth ..thought you were outside perhaps overdoing 'tubby'still feeling tired?
Audrey, aren't the colors that Shar used spectacular, can just see her NOT sitting in that pretty room...because she never sits..lol..maybe this will encourage her to do so..
How are you feeling today Audrey...
Tummy isn't feeling to good, but Wayne's coming over after work, so I'll give him a ham sandwich with Sweet Midget pickles and Cheetos! Got to straighten up my kitchen and clear off my table, so he'll have a place to eat!
Yes - the top shelf is definitely for the punch bowl's and stuff you never use!
Betty - what a snowmobile! GPS - is that what they call it? Might be a double edged sword if it didn't work one day and I thought the kids dropped off the planet....
I love broccoli soup - Jason's Deli makes a good one.... Today I'm having lunch from a franchise called Zoe's....really unusual food. Grilled feta cheese sandwich with basil leaves, tomatoes and carmelized onions.....I think this meal is what turned me on to planting basil.....
It's gorgeous here this first day of Spring.....I hope you are all getting good weather.....
popping back in later...
well, just realized my dr appt is 12:30, not 12 so gave me a few minutes to try and attach my wisteria to the new arbor....
speaking of tall people! ugh! ouside looking in my lil storage shed for the tie wraps....cant find them anywhere in there....then I think 'tall' and have to stand up on a bucket...and guess where they are? on top of the shed! not IN the shed! I know I didnt put them way up there lolol!
while I was tying down the wisteria, guess who came to visit? mr squirrel is getting braver! lol! he/she (looks pregnant to me!) let me get some better photos... lets see if I can upload them real quick...then off to Dr. (they are just doing lab tests today....wont know more til next week)
Betty, I am sure you are excited for stacey to get there! I know the two of you will just have a blast! lol!
here's squirrel...runs right past the corn cob cafe...guess she likes the peanuts better?
Sounds 'yummy' Mary...we sure do keep a closer eye on the children of today don't we..seems so much is out there that they can end up being in dangerous/harmful situations...
Kyle called me, Greg and family are leaving within the hour to go snowmobiling for 3 days in Sudbury..about 200 miles drive..I just knew I'd get this call....parents get the kids to call and con me...'grandma, we want to go away for the weekend but don't have anyone to look after Sophie (dog), do you think you could' shucks what would they do if mom (grandma) wasn't around....
So guess I have a 2nd houseguest this weekend...you know one thing I usually do is ask if my guests are allergic to cats/dogs..forgot to ask Stacey, guess it was because she's been on the thread so some time and is bound to know I have them...let's hope she has no allergies...
Audrey, glad you will have company for the evening..that's always nice..
OMG AnnMarie got to make one...just laughing to hard..she's not pregnant, you are just feeding her too well...think part of the fun as well AnnMarie is when they get inside the jar..the antics that must go on...
Best you get going to that Dr's. will check up later on how you made out...bet you are excited about all the new gardening pieces in your yard..
AnnMarie you must tell us if you think with the squirrel feeder if he's leaving the birdfeeders alone???? that's what I want to know..lol
Betty - She is probably aware....since we hear about Sailor and the kitties from time to time.....
Anjl - That's a precious pic !
I had one squirrel last year we named "Rocky"......almost got him to the point where he'd eat out of our hand but then a bad storm came and we didn't see him after that.....I think he made it through.....prob just finding a new tree to live in....bc I think I saw him last week.
They are smarter than we realize ....and completely aware of us when we aren't aware of them.....
I dont know if it deters them from the feeders... my bird feeder is hanging from my studio eave by a cord, havent ever seen squirrels go after it. I know they usually eat the corn from the cafe....constantly having to replace the cobs there, but this squirrel just went right past the corn and straight for the nuts lol! will have lots of fun with this feeder I'm sure.
also found another sun tea jar at the thrift store last week....will have to make two more larger feeders for them now! lol! maybe I should make the holes bigger so as she fattens up she'll still fit!
Working in shop..Building planter boxes..I don't like bending over so it stays on table till complete..Boy that treated wood is wet & heavy..Little tough getting off the table..They are 4' by 2' by22" high.
We would always say..This lumber had leaves on it yesterday..LOL
Shirley is in Omaha with 2 friends visiting another friend..
AND SHOPPING..AND SHOPPING...LOL
Betty have wonderful time with Stacey..Hope her trip stays Uneventful & SAFE
Had to stop for a Hotdog..Back to work now..
See ya all later.
OH little blue flowers on south side of shop..Shirley said what kind.
But my forgetter is working fine..LOL
Stacey IS HERE!
Yayay!!
Hi everyone.
Been a busy busy day today...
So glad you made it Stacey, big happy smiles for a wonderful fun weekend.
You two have quite the agenda so look forward to seeing hearing all...whew I was pooped just reading the agenda. LOL.
Hug eachother up, have fun...
OMG Carol, how funny, Steve was just telling me about that bag holder. Looks like it works well.
So now I can tell him youy have tried it and like it.
Been good reading about everyones day, night and stories.
Be back later...enjoy the evening.
Yay! Is this the first time Betty & Stacey have met face to face?
So - you need to name him/her. Is it going to be "Mrs. Squirrel" ?
How exciting for Betty and Stacey. I'm so glad that you made it safely. Have a great visit.
Well, my parents and nieces are currently on the train heading to Cochrane. They almost had to go over to the train station by ski-doo taxi but fortunately the trucks started going over a couple hours before they had to leave our house. The warm weather (ie slush) a couple days ago followed by the cold weather yesterday and today (ie frozen slush) made the road really bumpy so the truck taxis were waiting for the road to be smoothed again.
We had a great visit - but too short. Well, perhaps not too short - our house looks like a cyclone hit it. I guess it was a cyclone - of 7 kids and 4 adults (plus I babysat for two of the days so it was 9 kids on those days). At least my mom is really helpful, she kept the dishes done after each meal - no dishwasher here.
We had a fun week. We took everyone over to a neighbouring island for snowshoeing and a weiner roast. Keith took each of the kids for a little snowmobile ride too. We have a swing in our basement so the kids had a blast on that. I also inflated a small pool in our basement so they got to have a little 'swim'. Yesterday I made up some playdough and the kids had a blast with it. They were playing store so one of them was the 'money maker' and the others would make things to sell to the money maker. They entertained themselves for hours with that game. The kids got along really well, it was remarkable.
Tonight I'm relaxing. Tomorrow I'll have to get busy getting the house in order.
Sounds like fun times! I've never even seen a basement that I recall...so that's very interesting to me....a pool and a swing in the basement!
NIght Night all!
Mary
Quiet night! I should be in bed....but teens keeping me up late.
Mary
Mary...it is so way past your b'time.
Quiet tonight.....
Yes Sharran & Trisha - it is way past my bedtime.... DS went to a movie tonight....said be home around 11p...wasn't home till 12m.....
I'm wound up....
It is quiet and I am very much ready to crash too.
Hope everybody is looking forward to a great weekend.
That happens Mary...it's all part of the game, you know. They forget how to tell time quite easily.
