Alright ladies,Just a quick update..I am using my friends computer..I need to ask you all to keep me in your prayers..
I have having some bad luck lately.Broke my leg last week so I will be out of work for several weeks while it heals..I am in the process of looking for a place to stay because I can't afford the motel but my friend is willing to let me keep my car in her garage and said I could stay there in the loft above it...We've had to put my mom in a home due to stroke and her home is being foreclosed on due to a balloon rate they had..And now my Doc told me I have the HPV virus and need a biopcy done..
Can this year get anymore worse..
God sure isn't listening to me...Maybe he'll hear you for me..
Well later Gals.
Oh my Lisa!!! You are certainly going through some very challenging times. God does listen. I know you don't believe it right now, but things could be worse.. (Tell me to shut up sistahs)
Put your faith in Him... don't give up...He'll lead you out, I know.
We'll continue to pray for you and your mum as well.
Bonjon, I was a Realtor in CA for 4 years, we couldn't advertise anything like that because it's discrimination and someone was sure to come along and sue, guaranteed. That doesn't mean that when you're interviewing you can't ask what they're interests are. I would never own a rental, but this woman is 100% slum lord, the Queen of Slum Lords!
Prayers are being sent, that's horrible. I am so sorry you're having all of these problems.
Lisa, so sorry to hear of all your troubles, but it all happens for a reason! If not for anything else, but to make one strong!
Bj, sounds like you need a hot tub soak for a bit! Maybe with some epsom salt would help?
Cindy, love that new garden area! Gonna be nice!

Jaye;
I really have been trying to believe but I don't know which way to turn anymore..
I have gone to church, talked to him and been reading the Bible but still having the empty hollow feeling inside me..
I even said the pray to be born again and feel nothing..
Aren't you suppost to feel the change??
Hey girls,
Well busy day yesterday and today so am taking a break now.
got everything tilled that I needed tilled, got the cool weather stuff planted in the garden, extended the strawberry bed and moved some of the plants, had picked up some bleeding ehart roots and have those all planted
emptied almost all the water out of the pond and the 2 koi and cleaned it up as it was really really bad ...did keep some of the water to put back in so it wouldn't be a big shock to the fishies and have a UV filter hooked up now too so it should help the water stay clearer instead of a bright green that you an see a thing in.
But I need some help ...now that the back area has been cleaned and leveled out per say I want to get some flowering something along the top ...I ordered 5 Camila plants from the arbor day foundation ...only cost me about 28 for them. but I can't plant them there was it is full sun all day long and it would be too hard on them.
I do have 2 boxes of wild flower seeds I could sue but not sure that is what I want to do either as I already have the purple cone flowers in the terrace.
Here's the link to my personal site and then go to the picture journal and look at them..I am going to get it updated this next week but you can see in them the area behind the house and where I am talking above the landscape timbers
http://www.ladies-of-the-heart.org/Phyllis/welcome.htm
Any suggestions??? something that can handle full sun most of the day ???
Lisa, feelings come and go as they are nothing but emotional response. If we depend on feelings for our salvation, we'll be lost every other day.. God is about faith..
Have faith in Him. He's with you always, He never deserts us, it's our choice that makes us leave Him.
This morning, I heard Charles Stanley says, why we wonder God is silent.... could it be He is waiting for us to truly call on Him? Surrender yourself completely in His care.
Keep reading His Words and for support and understanding, attend a bible class too.
You can call me anytime.
Quick reply here Phyllis..
I grow Camellias in full sun, part shade and one in full shade under my oak tree. They do survive here and I'm in zone 8. Perhaps I'm lucky..
Gonna check your site later.. got to help Kel with grilling.

well that is what I was hoping to do as they would make a nice "border" along the top but in my reading most of it says dappled shade for hot places...so I'm not really sure if I can put them there or not and water for them is easy as the rain barrel is near by and so is the garden hose
Phyllis, I grow them in full sun, after checking out with neighbors who did that. Moreover, my area is more sun than shade.
Kinda surprised myself after reading they need dappled shade. Guess the newer breeds are more sun tolerant. But, there are folks around here that have been growing them in full sun, for a long time that their camellias are as tall as their homes.
Look around your neighbourhood.. And if most grow in shade, follow their ways.
I have yet to see anyone with any of them we are int eh country so not many houses near by let alone those that have much in flowers LOL
Oh, Lisa, I'm so sorry for your bum luck. Praying for you Sistah!
I got a lot more cleaned in the bed today and lots of things are green down low, so I covered them with a little mulch until we can get through this next cold spell.
I am one HAPPY camper! Bertie and I made the run to the Garden show in Cinci to see about getting those Korean Rock Ferns. After spending about 15 minutes looking for a place to park (I WAS NOT paying either $8 or $10 for event parking for 20 minutes!) we parked in a no parking zone along with about 15 other vehicles and crossed our fingers. When we got inside, the guy remembered us and told me to make an offer. So I asked him how big they were and he said they were in four inch pots. So I said, how about 5 for $10. He said..ok. Then there were some maidenhair that Bertie wanted and she got 5 of those for $8. So I said I had another $1.00 what could I get. I ended up with 6 rock ferns and 1 maidenhair for $12.00. I am happy. There was a beautiful coleus we both fell in love with on one of they displays and we went there while waiting for 6:00 pm to come. A girl there was waiting to get them. She had already bought them, but I talked her in to letting me get a couple pinches! It is Plum Parfait. It is Beautiful! Hopefully, I won't kill them. Bertie gave me the job of trying to root them.
Hope you all have a wonderful night.
Love you Sistahs!♥♥♥
crissy, I'm a Realtor, have been for years. We can advertise for gardeners - It's not a protected group! ^_^
Lisa, well, consider my prayers added to yours, but fair warning, I always pray "Thy will be done" - - - it's always worked better. We are promised the strength to endure. Pray for Him to hold you in the palm of His Hand. I've gone through some horrible times resting there.
Not feeling a change? you look on your terms. If this is something recent, you will be "as a child" with much to learn. Congrats on asking the prayer.
Phyllis, down on our coastal area is a bit like TX but plenty of water. Any chance oleanders would work for you? they adore full sun, so I can't grow them.

That's cool Bon! In CA Everything is discrimination, you can only advertise the property and screen applicants through interviews.
My awesome next door neighbors are getting a divorce. She has an attorney and will more than likely file this week, and the fight is on for the house, but she can't afford it without roommates and we live out in the country, which means that he can't either and all of his friends are deadbeat alcoholics. So if anyone knows anyone who wants to rent a room out in the country on an acre of land with an awesome person let me know.
You sistahs are funny!!!!
Deborah.. do you truly depend on Depends???
Of course, Kentucky Bourbon for Kim's beverage of choice!!!!

WE ARE FINISHED excavating for the walkway... YEAH !!!
We finished around 5pm... and still had daylight... so, my son thought we still had time to do something else that needed to be done while we had the skid loader rented. SOOOOO... we tore up another part of the yard... LOL... we had dirt higher than the drive way that leads to Don's shop... I mean, about a foot higher than the concrete... kind of makes the driveway look smaller than it really is... so, he took that down level with the drive, and smoothed it out on a slope... making the slope a bit steeper, but nicer and smoother... he really did a good job... hope Don doesn't get pissed... I now have three sections of our yard that is all tore up ... AND we busted 4 sprinkler heads... they're geysers now.
I'm so sore, all over... I think I'll go take a really hot shower now... I need to sweep too... we tracked in enough dirt to grow an indoor garden today... but, I think that might have to wait till tomorrow.
french kiss is a vanilla flavored liqour
LOL Jaye, use the liquor and add the other stuff to it, which changes the name to Pineapple Upside Down shot. I have 5 friends who are bartenders, I know many drinks and don't like most of them, but that one sounds good lol!
I think there's a shot called French Kiss too, you literally give the shot a french kiss.

Ok... we're now offering Mixology 101 on Sweet Interruptions!!
Thanks Phyllis and Crissy.!!
They know a lot more than I do, when something like this comes up I usually call one of them and ask. lol!
Hey Cody.. you snuck up on us!!! So.. you're through cleaning and can play now?
BJ, you'll be planning something wonderful and beautiful to fix those booboos. Leave it up to your creativity, they won't be eye sores much longer! I'm sure Don won't get upset.. it's not him tearing up your yard!!! Lolol!!
Crissy, if anyone were to ask me about these new cocktails.. most probably I'll be telling them... "Google it"!!!!!
