Marion, I think she will like having some else doing a shade garden to talk to and won't mind the shade too much as long as she can find the space she needs for all of her Sage plants.....of course if necessary she can always add them to mine:)

Synda you have the right idea, but mine is roosters and sunflowers:)

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

yes I know I miss being able to be on here as much as I was but spring break is coming and I'll be around more then I think LOL
just makes for a long day with lil time to do things when I get home as it gets dark and I can't work outside and with the son in law to be staying here my time is limited to when he is out on a job to get in the back room to my sewing machine to do anything too.
just not enough hours in a day right now LOL

Tia, my mom and step-dad live in Newcastle. They go to Norman a lot. You were right between the two bad spots.

Love the pictures!

I'm looking for articles about the tornadoes in Texas and can't find any.

We didn't get near the weather we were supposed to get, thank God! It was severe up in Northern Arkansas with straight-line winds from 70mph +, there were reports of a barn being blown off of its foundation and landed in the road, there was also a roof of a house that was in the middle of the highway, but it formed a squall line that was moving at 50mph itself so those winds only lasted in one area for about a minute. There were 2 tornadoes in Oklahoma, one about 45 minutes north of my mom, the other about 45 minutes south of my mom. The other 2 were in Texas but I didn't have time to look them up on the news so I'm about to do that. I was up all night watching the weather, I missed my calling, the power of the squall lines just amazes me, I think I missed my calling! There's a severe weather seminar in Norman OK, which is 30 minutes from my mom's house, the beginning of next month, NOAA is putting it on and the public can attend, I'm wanting to go.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Debra, I'm laughing so hard at your post. ROFL!!!! I've ran out in one of those snap front old lady shifts too with the Phillis Dillar hair on fire dos. I know exactly how you looked LOL been there! LOL Whew! got a belly roll laugh today from Debra!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

My mom just told me the southern OK tornado mainly hit a big mobile home park with no storm shelter. That's why there were so many deaths. That's horrible.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes, Cris... OK got the worse of it...
We had some really strong cells come through, but only one or two tornados were reported... and I don't think they touched down, if they did, there wasn't much damage. There are some buildings north of Dallas that were damaged, and some roofs blown off of some homes... but it was from strong winds, not tornados.

The worse winds and rain went north and south of our house too... Phyllis got hail, but I didn't ... she's just about 40 miles south east of me. She also got stronger winds and more rain than I did.

If anyone wants to read my letter to corp, just give me your email-it is like 7 pages, so too long for here me thinks-tee hee hee

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Been back for a couple of hours now, just don't have the chance to sit on the pc. You know, furry babies demanding to be fed.. stuffs that you are supposed to do when you're gone all day.. like check the mail...

Got the trucks back, and Cindy, Kel works with appliances. He learned that from his dad, and he has been doing that since he's 12.

Welcome back Cookie.. where are the pics!!!

Debra, I bet even when you have that 'finger in the socket' look for your hair.. you're still Mrs. Arkansas!!! Oh btwy.. Maid M. is right, I'm just one crazy lady for doing 12 blocks like that :( Lololol!!!!

Niece, the truth is finally setting you free.. and in glee!!! We are sure laughing along with you at that horrid woman. I know.. we're supposed to forgive.. but people like her and that Wife Swap Stephen Fowler, somehow shouldn't be allowed to live in this planet!
My email addy Jaye.Buffkin@gmail.com (curious cat here.. he he he)

Finally Trisha!!! You can breathe easy now.. your Mum's okay and Laura and Sean have their own duplex. She may have lost the charge of two kids, but the $600 savings kinda offset some of the lost wages, I hope.

PTL, you and your Mum are doing okay, Tina Tia. A very sad natural disaster indeed when you lose even 1 life.

Glad you're talking Phyllis! PTL for your safety too.. and good job on the towels. Are those done on your new machine?

Deborah, I think you did a good job, being it's your first quilt. What do you mean by 'buckle'? Sometimes my binding finishes 'wavy' that's because I have a bad habit of stretching fabrics! It's too pretty to be placed in a pet carrier!!! Be proud.. you should see my first quilt :( There were 'ant' hills all over...certain places puckering, and points not matching (still doing that)!!!!
When you're ready to use those fabrics, wash and press them first. I can't help but to get a full yard of the butterfly fabric, you'll be able to use them for appliques too.

Maid M., there's a guy about 25 miles from here who went to the Paducah quilt show with his wife last year, and came home with a $25,000 long arm quilting machine!! He got so good at it, that he's servicing quilters from all over. Imagine that.. his wife quilts for 30 years, never shown any interest until he accompanied her to the show.

Crissy, goes to tell you what the bosses really think of you huh? Dave did the right thing for sure, even though he had to tell a lie :D

Synda, you must be feeling better!

Thank you so much Sistah BJ. You keep us up to date with the weather conditions all over.. especially where our sistahs live..
I should pay attention to the news channel more.. so thanks again BJ ^_^

Gonna turn in early.. not sewing.. another long day tomorrow.

Good night sweet ladies. Cody.. don't stay up too late!!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Sorry, the devil made me do it about the quilt block!!! LOL 40 pieces really?

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Have a good night Jaye....get some rest......

Laura is happy....she will miss the income a little, but believe me those kids were a handful! I watched them for her for about 15 minutes one afternoon....and I am pretty good with kids for the most part.....but if I had been with those two much longer they might have found them pinned to wall and gagged!!....so she will definitely have less stress....and maybe we can get back to working on our leather and stuff and get our own business going that can offset some of the lost income.....and she likes doing this stuff too. We had a good time working together on things summer before last, before she started babysitting! We will take it a day at a time and see what the Good Lord has planned for us.......

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Lolol.. if you count the strips in a chevron!! There are 5 strips on each side of a chevron.. 4 chevrons in a block.. voila.. they all add up!!
Yep.. crazy I am.. and Kel's laughing his toes off. He says, finally, you all are seeing the real me .. the truly crazy nut!!

Good night Maid M!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Good nite Jaye. I love it--sounds like something I have done before. Yeap, Ross laughed too.

There are
2 bath towels, 4 washcloths, 2 hand towels, 6 thinner tea towels and a few extra goodies to make it pretty..

Micheal and Ashton are both very sweet and I heard from a little birdie they were doing black and white in the bathroom... The only room they hadnt recieved anthing for .. Of course they have no idea but his mom is keeping all the guests in order.. (Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Night Cody! Sleep well sweetie!!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I got to get up at 6, and I was up all night watching the weather lol I got so interested and curious I didn't go to sleep until 4am, then got up at 6. Actually I've done really well today, I didn't feel like I lost any sleep. I bet it'll hit me tomorrow.

Donna that's gorgeous! What a great idea!

night night everyone!

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

Yeah the baby diaper one is what gave me the idea.. My friend in Ohio was making one for a baby shower and told e I shoul dtry one.. Well I didnt know anyone having a baby so I went searching ideas and found several ways to do it.. Picked one and worked with the basic principles to get what I came up with..

I swear I could craft 24/7 and never get bored.. lol

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

Good night Cody and Crissy! Sleep well ...

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)
