Happy Birthday Judy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tornadoes were awful. l Hope someone contacts Tia.......my cousin is safe, my Aunt and Uncle are safe but she said a Mobile Home park in a town north of them was hit and at least 15 people were killed or are missing....haven't heard from my cousin in Norman but I figure they are ok or the kids would have called my cousin Al and let him know....
Sounds like Don needs to pretend he will be gone for a week not matter what they tell him!!
Jaye and Marion you two take care...
Joyce hope you guys had fun in spite of the weather!!
LK, Donna, Crissy, Cindy, Cody......everyone, waving and have a good day!!!
It was in the twenties last night...slick and icy....is up to 36 degrees now.....brrrr.
Laura and Sean just put the deposit down on the duplex up the street from us!!!!! Looks like she will have mostly a shade garden, which she isn't too happy about, but as she said $600 a month less than what they are paying now was just too good to pass up !!!!!
Need to get some things done around here so talk to you later!
۞ Sweet Interruptions ۞103
Oh tell LAura that I will send her some hostas and some heucheras and some toad lilies and some other shade lovers this fall to plant-there really are some WONDERFUL shade plants!!
Tia, Tina Whatever's mom Darlinmom posted on the quilting thread so they must be okay.
I just opened a sweet sistah package from Jaye! Wiping the tears away because it has really touched my heart. She sent me 16 floral fabrics and a butterfly fabric that's all going to be two lap quilts. One butterfly and the other in florals. The prettiest fabrics I've ever seen. And I'm eating a bag of dark chocolate Dove hearts in one sitting.
I just finished a patchwork changing pad that isn't right. It buckled when I was sewing the quilting stitches. My machine didn't come with a walking foot. I'll see if WM has one. I also doubled the batting which now that I'm done, I should have only used it singly. It fits Kally's cat carrier just fine. I did make two things for Riley that I'll give Ashley. One is a burping cloth and the other is a receiving blanket with a hood. The blanket with the hood is not too good because I had touble ending the bias tape. My stitches aren't straight either. I guess you just have to keep sewing to get the feel for it. I'm going to keep practicing on the baby blanket and burping cloths with the scrap matterial that Cindy has given me. Jaye's butterfly fabric looks good with the other butterfly fabric I have. I don't want to mess it up so this time I'll cut the fabric standing up leaning over the table instead of trying to cut the fabric strips out sitting down with the board in my lap. Another lesson learned. :) Thank you JAYE for my box of wonderful fabrics and candy.! You just made my day!

OK, Linda Kay. Larrys at his computer but I will send pics asap. I'm ashamed of the quilt but I'll show it as what not to do incase there are other newbie sewers amoung us sistahs. There's only two pieces of heart candy left, so by the time I take pictures they will be gone. Just know they were mouth watering delicious! Smack!
WOO HOO... I just talked to Tia Tina... she's ok... the storm didn't hit her too bad... just had some wind and rain... but nothing bad.
She promised to come say HI to us as soon as the carpet by her computer is dry... she shampooed it today.
Deborah... we still want to see pics... no matter how they look... I'm sure I've done worse on some of my sewing projects.
Deborah. we only learn by our mistakes and let me tell you I have many a trillion at least since I first started. Would love to see the things you have done so far. Chocolate too if you want to share--no wait I have chocolate. LOL
Getting a lot of great gifts, great recipes and great news on this thread......
so glad to hear Tia is okay.....sure miss her on here and wish she would get back with us...
Deborah I know it isn't as bad as You think it is.....we are all our own worse critics.....I haven't even gotten up the nerve to start back sewing yet, so you are ahead of me....and it is the love in these projects that really matters.
Perfectly said Trisha and especially the love of a Grandmother To Be--really soon!!!
I just realized I am still in my pjs at 4:30 in the afternoon!
So?
as Laura would say, regarding the PJ's.......and your point is????
ROFLMBO
....yes, I do know if they don't have to leave the house they live in their PJ's....I would love to but I always have to pop next door for mom, or across the street with the mail, down the street to walk the dog, she will go out in the back yard for a bit, but to her that doesn't count for anything.....we Must go down the street and make sure the evil bunnies and squirrels and That Other Dog, haven't been creating mischief in the neighborhood...it is Her Job to keep the neighborhood safe......so, at any rate, rarely any jammie time here:(
Thanks for posting Deborah, Lovely items, and I can't see anything wrong with them!
Keep practicing, you will get the hang of sewing real soon!
LK
Oh Trisha, one of the simple joys of life that you are missing!!
Sneaking in, please only hit me with pillows, or feathers. Or both............. We survived, we WERE scared. We did not get the bad part of it, the bad part of the storm was either north or south of us.
To not go into detail I have been thru H E double hockey sticks this past week. Life has GOT to get better.
I can say this,,,,,,,,,,,,, I get to be a grandma and not an authority figure now.
Thanks Brenda for the phone call. I really enjoyed it. Call again!!!!
Tia, Tina Whatever, so sorry things have been bad this past week--we are here-don't forget that. Also good to see you posting and to know all is safe from the weather that ravaged so many.
The news said we in Oklahoma had 15 to die from the tornado's. We have all the warnings, we have technology, I just do not understand.
I'm glad you posted Tina, I been worried about you!
Looks like I missed some serious chatter today while I was playing..lol
Tia-Tina so glad to hear you are okay and made it through the storms safely.. Was wandering about you when I watched the news at lunch..
LOL I love having comfy PJ's and would stay in them all day if I could.. I need to get new PJ pants that fit since my old ones are falling off my butt.. Very comfy but I wouldnt wear them outside..
Huggs and waving to everyone.. LK< Crissy< Marion< Laura
Good to hear from you Tina. Had dmailed your mom checking on you both and was happy to hear from her. Sorry you've had such a bad week. Hope it gets better from now on out.
Deborah! What are you talking about???? That's the cutest darn quilt! Where is it buckled? Are you sure it's not just the 'quilting' affect? It definitely does not deserve to be in a cat carrier.
I've been caught in my pj's too many times. Got involved in cleaning kitchen cabinets one morning and didn't realize how much of the day had passed. Heard a knock on the door and panicked - OMG they couldn't see me in my jammies at this time of day! I hid (we have big glass doors). When I felt it was safe I looked out and saw two women riding off on horseback. I realized this was the woman responsible for calling to tell us she saw our dogs when they went missing this summer and because of her we knew where to post flyers and got them both back. I was so grateful to her that I went flying out the driveway to stop her and thank her. My hair had that 'finger in the socket' look and I was not only in my jammies but wearing my deceased DMIL's housecoat - you know the kind - the 'old lady' big floral, snap up the front kind. (I love those) We live in the boonies, but 'sure as shoot'n' when I stay in jammies all day someone knocks on the door.
What's wrong with PJ's or sweats all day?? That is my usual garb!!
Deb-I don't see anything wrong with the quilt-look just like the ones you get in the store!!
WEll, I had 2 good things happen today.
1-LK said I can make payments on my tattoo, so I AM GETTING A TATTOO WHEN I AM IN TX!!!
2-Corp legal guy called me-tee hee hee-I am a gettin that wench bag!! Sorry-mean I know, but so well deserved!!
What do you mean by "wench bag"??? What's the legal dept going to do?
Mike's home from running track... he's hurt his thigh muscle from sprinting... so, his coach just has him jogging right now... he jogged 3 miles today... sheesh, I couldn't do 1/2 mile...
He's more talkative this evening than I've heard him since he came... nothing in particular... just talking about everything...
Gonna work on my project some more tonight...
Woke up this morning and looked at what I had done, and didn't like it anymore... tore off all the clay from the jar, and started all over again... I just hate it when that happens... but I just didn't like it.
I agree, Deborah... I don't see where it was buckled... It looked pretty nice to me.
PAJAMAS: If there's no reason to get dressed, then why do it? as long as I don't have to work in the garden (walking outside doesn't count), and I don't have to go anywhere... I don't need to get dressed... right?
LOL...And aren't you just the cutest Gramma in your Jammies!!
OMG, I think your baby items are great. and looks like I am not alone.
LOL and LOL again...just took a shower so finally out of my jammies too.
We are headed out to dinner...So most likey I'll chat with you all tomorrow!
Again, Thank You all, with big hugs and smiles for Birthday greetings!
Fairy...yay on the tatoo...

ok got to go...Yummy fondue dinner and Wine too.
LOL will wisper to you in the AM.
Have a good night all.
She will either get a last chance notice, be demoted or fired-tee hee hee-wench bag is the nice term for B&%^$ face......does that help??
I am having a couple more beers and feeling righteous, might just finish that grievance letter tonight!!
Evenin Ladies
Yes I am alive and fine. made it in from mesquite at 10:30 got home about 11 went to get online to unwind from the drive and everything went black.
we had hail and wind and rain alot of tree branches down but no damage here.
luckily I set the alarm on my phone to wake me up and I had to manually open and close the garage door.
DH says power came on around 1 then went off again around 3 and back on just before I got home from work
was thinking about it this morning and told BJ it is just a lil over a year ago we had bad storms roll through as my folks were here on their way home and I sent them packing to go home when I left for work and had them ahead of the storms and they didn't hit here but they got home before the tornado's hit Illinois as Edwards apple orchard that we always went to in Poplar Grove got hit bad and has to rebuild their buildings to open this last fall.
Phyllis!!!!So glad to see you back on and safe and sound!!! Talked to my Aunt and a cousin in Oklahoma this morning...looks like it was really bad up their way....but again thankfully everyone is safe......we worry an extra bit cause my aunt and uncle lost their entire homeplace (house, barns, bunkhouse and all outbuildings) to a tornado back in the '90's..... and now with all our DG sistah's and their families have even more reasons to worry when we hear about the storm warnings.....don't like those things!! Big Hug!!!!
Phyllis she will love those, they are beautiful!!!
The towels are beautiful.......my kitchen is maroon and purple grapes.....LOL(no hints here)
That is indeed good news Tink. I will lift my cup of Starbucks to you. Will that do?
Phyllis I have been missing your post. Glad you are here tonight. Why does work, jobs and life have to always get in the way of our playing? Just isn't right somehow.
Hope Mike does ok with his hip BJ. Those can hurt bad. Sounds like he has adjusted to American life quickly and is enjoying himself.
We had fajatias tonight at a new restuarant--I am stuffed!!! They were outstanding too.
Yeap Synda is definitely one of us now!!! LOL Those are lovely towels Phyllis.
Trisha, I keep forgetting to tell you how happy I am that Laura and Sean have found a home. She really will be able to do alots with $600 extra a month. We will learn shade gardening together as I am starting over.
