(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

It's a beautiful sunny day here today! 53*. We had terriffic winds yesterday, though! I was taking a nap, (didn't feel well) and a terrible noise woke me and I jumped out of bed. The dead tree on the other side of the property line blew over on my apt. and almost got my windows! The first half came down last summer! It was very windy all day, but today's beautiful! I'm gonna work some more on my quillow.
Ciou!

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

BJ, it does hurt! Been there, done that! You just have to harden yourself to it! What goes around, comes around!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Bj, so sorry your having problems withy our son! I have been there too. You brerak your back to give them what they want, when they want it, then when you need something they are too busy! Maybe next time he needs a favor, you might tell him you will pencil him in...
Audrey, Sorry to hear your not feeling well. But if you get sewing on your quillow, it will make you feel better. Post a picture when you can. We would love to see it.
Can zinnia's start inside, or will they do better if I just plant them outside now? Or poppies? Do they transplant well?
Sounds like were all getting antsy to get something to grow and bloom.

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Bj so sorry kids dont see what is right in front of them sometimes. Especially the grown ones. Took mom to town today and got one thing settled so she does not have to stress about that anymore. Workmans Comp thing. Got some satin binding and elastic so I can finish up the baby quilt, bumper pads and the diaper bag. Better hurry and do that the baby shower for my aunts daughter in law's baby(would make her Danny Fern my 2nd cousin) is in 2 weeks. My Niece's baby shower for Lilyann Grace is April 4th.

We had 6 chicks hatch last week and 3 this week so far. Going to reload the incubator this weekend for another batch, hopefully it will be full this time. Gotta wait tho till this hatch is over tomorrow and then get it cleaned up and moved into MY read that MY computer/sewing/incubator/brooder/seed starter room. Got daughters things moved out and my things are going back in MY room.

I get to be a nanna again and I get punk boy for V day and night. Getting excited about his visit here. My oldest daughter and her husband (pregnant due in september) is now taking care of him and he is doing GREAT there.

Hugs
Tina

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

"Pencil" you in????? WHAT the...... dear God...
You're his Mama for Heavens' sakes!!! I hope he's just kidding you, BJ. Not a nice remark..

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Jaye, my dear I posted the goodies on the Valentine's swap thread.

BJ, I guess any one who is a parent has gone through this but it does hurt and makes you wonder--what if......... But being the parent we continue--I know Ross and I did even though at times it was really hard to do. Sending a hug just cause I want to hug you!!!!

Boy you were lucky Audrey!! That could have been really bad with the tree. That is what worries me at time with this house--huge limb hanging over part of the house. May have to take the tree out this year cause I sure don't want to deal with what it could do if the circumstances are right.

Waving to Tia, Tina Whatever!! It is so good seeing you post. You sound like one busy person right now.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Debra, Picasa should work great and it is easy

So sorry Donna.....hope something works out.

BJ, glad Don gets to come home........as for the issue with your son...been there, done that, don't like the tee shirts......

Waving to everyone....running short of time got to get some things done in the next hour then it is off to the clinic for mom's surgery....

talk to ya later!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Ooops... that thread disappeared from my watch list....

Speaking of Valentine, SIS KATHY!!!! Come out and play.... when Hurricane's in school!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Saying prayers for your Mom's surgery Trisha.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

trisha, we will be praying for your Mom, and a successful surgery, and a very quick recovery.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Jaye, I didn't answer your question: I really am ok, the fluids are drying up and the rest is going to stay around until the first of April. I can believe everything is covered with a fine layer of yellow already. Until that goes---then I suffer. Just relieved to find out it was allergies--just earlier than usual.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Came in to stop sweating for a minute... it's 78* out there ... I think I need to change into shorts and a tank top for this.
As much as I hate to sweat, it's kind of bitter sweet right now... SPRING !!!!

Yep... son's not racking up brownie points with me, for sure...
Another problem is... If I tell Don what happened, he'll just say "I told you the last time it will happen again"... sheesh... and it just keeps happening.

Fostoria, OH(Zone 5a)

BJ, just remember that one day he, too, will ask his kids to do something for him and ..guess what? Their reply will be along the same lines. They just don't get it do they?

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

I would just save that line BJ and use it back on him-the next time he asks you for something tell him you will "pencil" him in, but can't make any promises-then tell him when the time comes that you can't as you are painting your toe nails that night!!LOL

TANTE JAYE-did they get there?? Did you get your Zoo??????????

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

BJ you have every right to feel that way. He was wrong to treat his mother like that. Pray for him to put you in his priorities. I hope you give him the what for after all you brought him in this world.....

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

That's a good one Staceypoo!

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

I know my georgia peach!! I have a smidge of a mean streak!!LOL

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Judy tell us about that restaurant that only serves by fontue! What's the name of it? Is it a chain? There's nothing around here like that. The closest thing to it would be Japanese.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

There is a chain called The Melting Pot

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

IT would be a hit down here. We're all so tired of the same ol' same ol'.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Don't forget pictures, Jaye!

What kind of oil is used in a fondue pot, peanut oil?

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

I have three sons... and here's what I get with each of them

Oldest... doesn't have time to help me with anything.

Middle... thinks he should get paid to help me do things.

Youngest... willing to help, but when I get him here to do something, he forgets what we're suppose to do and walks off... (he's the one with the brain injury). When I remind him, he picks a fight, and I end up just taking him home.

The oldest and the middle don't get along... so I can't have them both here at the same time... The youngest works best with the oldest because he's out to impress him (I think).

I did tell Don about the conversation with my son today... he just shook his head... guess it's gonna be Me and Mike working the compost bin NEXT weekend... this Saturday, we're going to the mall. I decided today to just wait and see what my son decides to do on his own... but I have a feeling that he has a brand new eraser now.

On to more happy thoughts... Don's taking me and Mike out to eat for dinner ... we so rarely get to go out together... it's almost like a date.

You can make your own fondue, just get a fondue pot. Nowadays folks use fondue pots to dip fruits in melting chocolate.

Well we're off grocery shopping.. shop when your tummies are full, your buggy won't overflow!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Well I am off to watch McDreamy--2 hours again tonight. Be good all and will chat another day.

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

BJ, I won't comment on the three of you going on a date ...... but will say I understand how children can hurt our feelings. I seem to be ultra sensitive around DD. Doesn't take much to make me cry. We had a heart-to-heart last week (after I cried because she didn't goo goo over the wedding invitations David went to great length to use calligraphy to address for her). She was defensive at the time but has been much nicer since. She didn't realize how emotionally involved I am in her wedding and trying to make it special for her. It took being honest with her and telling her she hurt my feelings.

Since the facebook thing didn't work, I'm going to attach a photo to each post. Please forgive me! This is DD at the salon trying different hair styles in preparation for her bridal portratait next week.

Well my whole tax refund got spent at Sam's club and I didn't get a monitor either. Rick had too much fun. He loves to shop there, Wal-Mart and Home Depot, I can't let him go to either of those stores by himself. Rick belongs to a fishing club where the chat. This guy was telling about his trip to Wal -Mart. He was suppose to pick up a gallon of milk, when he noticed a sign saying fishing stuff was on sale. Well 2 hours later and $250 in fishing tackle and NO MILK, he goes home. His wife hadn't gotten home from work yet when he posted that. But can you imagine the H@#% he will pay for doing that? Rick wouldn't come home, not while I was there LOL.

Glenview, IL

Our favorite Fondue was an assortment of meat and veggies that we cooked in a chicken broth.....sounds really good right now. I'm hungry....

The clinic called at 12:15 and asked if we could come in then instead of at 1:45...off we went! The surgery went great, we were in and out, across town to pick up prescriptions and back home by four. Got her all settled in under her electric blanket and have finally finished making all the phone calls....tired and hungry. No spin class tonight, they don't want here left alone for twenty four hours due to strong pain meds...so I am here for the night. They said she should be back to driving and doing her normal things, carefully, by Monday or Tuesday.
Now we need food and pain meds....talk to you later.

Coushatta, LA

Trisha,i will be praying for your mom.

Glad everything went good.

A friend of mine e-mailed this to me. It couldn't have come at a better time for me.

Don't give up.....

One day I decided to quit...
I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality... I wanted to quit my life.
I went to the woods to have one last talk with God.
"God", I asked, "Can you give me one good reason not to quit?"
His answer surprised me...
"Look around", He said. "Do you see the fern and the bamboo?"
"Yes", I replied.
"When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them.
I gave them light.
I gave them water.
The fern quickly grew from the earth.
Its brilliant green covered the floor.
Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo.
In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful.
And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo. He said.
"In year three there was still nothing from the bamboo seed.
But I would not quit.
In year four, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed.
I would not quit." He said.
"Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Compared to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant...
But just 6 months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall.
It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive.
I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle."
He asked me. "Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots".
"I would not quit on the bamboo.
I will never quit on you."
"DON'T COMPARE YOUR SELF TO OTHERS." He said.
"The bamboo had a different Purpose than the fern.
Yet they both make the forest beautiful."
"Your time will come", God said to me.
"You will rise high"
"How high should I rise?"
I asked.
"How high will the bamboo rise?" He asked in return.
"As high as it can?" I questioned.
"Yes." He said, "Give me glory by doing everything in your power to rise as high as you can."
I left the forest and brought back this story.
I hope these words can help you see that God will never give up on you.
Never, Never, Never Give up.
For the Belivers Prayer is not an option but an opportunity.
Don't tell the Lord how big the problem is,
tell the problem how Great the Lord is!
And just keep pushing forward one little step at a time.
